We were very happy in windsor palms last year but I'd like to know the difference between there and indian creek. I've seen some rentals that look very nice in IC and I need to know if it is a gated community, closer/farther away etc.
thanks

Indian creek is right next door to Windsor Palms (you would have passed the entrance on your way to WP). Technically you could say it is closer to WDW, but in reality the difference is very little. I am sure the homes are fine.

I am not sure if it is gated but I don't think it is.

I have been on the community once (a 3 or so years ago) and personally I didn't like the feel of it as a rental community. The community is split into two parts with the 428 expressway going right between them.

WP has the clubhouse and amenities (sundry shop, movie theatre, pool, toddler pool, tot lot, tennis courts etc), I believe IC has soccer field, basketball court, tot lot, tennis courts.

But if the homes you have found work for you, then it is certainly worth considering.

Hope that helps...

Thanks Kay,
I'll keep it all in mind. I don't like the idea of a non gated community or a highway running through it. Maybe we should stick with what we know.

We stayed in IC in March. It is not gated. The first section is the oldest, built are 2001 and the other section across the highway was built 2003-04. We stayed in the older section and it was fine. The level of the highway is below the level of the homes so it doesn't bother you. There's an overpass to connect the two sections.
We stayed at Windsor Hills the last 3 times and IC doesn't have the same feel as that does but the home was also a lot less expensive than WH. So I guess it's up to the individual. As far as distance goes there would only be a minute difference.

before we bought our timeshare, we stayed in that area a lot. never in IC but we did visit friends there on 2 different visits. the homes were fine but the only thing that swayed me away from IC is the pool heat was more expensive there (gas vs. electric or something like that) At least the rental company we were booking thru charged more. $35/day vs. $25 per day at WP or Rolling Hills. Maybe not all companies/owners charge extra.
We really loved pool heat but thought $35/day +tax is steep and that was back in 05.
