I've never flown on Independence Air before.

Any opinions/advice?

Hello! We leave for WDW on Saturday :cool1: and will be flying into Orlando on Independence Air. It is the first time I have flown with them, however I have heard good reviews so I feel more than confortable flying with them.

When we return I will post on how it all went!

We used Independence Air for the first time from Dulles to Tampa about two weeks ago and I was very impressed. I will use them again. Very comfortable, a bit wider seats, new airplane, hot towels, drinks, snacks and only $98 roundtrip. Who can beat that!
:cool1:

Hot towels? In coach?

Tinkerbelle99, please let me know how you liked them! :flower:

Independence is a one class airline, everyone gets treated the same. Usually very good!

The only drawback in my mind (and not a major one if the price is right) is you usually have to change planes at Dulles. They fly the regional jets to Dulles and the Airbusses from Dulles to MCO.

The CRJ's are OK, a little tight on space, but they will gate check your bags and that works well.

I flew them for the first time in November from BOS to MCO and had a flight delay at IDA going down, but everything was fine coming home. (this was before the A319's were flying)

I liked them and would use them again.

Yes, hot towels in coach. I have flown Independence twice and love it. Comfortable seats, good snacks and good customer service. Book online for the lowest fares. I recommend flyi to everyone.

We booked them for our April 29th trip to MCO. Out of dulles for us, so a non-stop. $116 rt.

I used them from Charleston, SC to Dulles, and loved it. The flight was pretty empty, one class seating, and they had a plane side valet service for my bag. I didn't want to check it, as it was a smaller piece of luggage, and as I went to board, a young lady told me it probably wouldn't fit the overhead, as it was a smaller jet. She said I could check it with her, and when we arrived at Dulles, it would be on a cart right next to the plane as I got off, very cool idea, no going to the carousel. I lke using smaller discount airlines, in fact I'll be using Spirit Air out of Atlantic City to MCO in Oct.

That's where we'll be flying out of. I've been quoted a RT fare for $122.60 and that's including all the taxes, it's the cheapest I've found so far. Southwest and Airtran were all over $150 for the dates I'm considering!

Thanks guys, sounds like IA is a good thing! :flower:

I saw some great fares and I'm hoping to fly out of Dulles also if they have another sale like they did in the recent past. I'm not going until July. Do they routinely run short sales like the $40 something sale each way? I was drooling at those fares when I saw them since I can't find much under $200 and paying for 5 this go around. That would cut my cost in half! :earseek: Too bad we couldn't get out of dodge quicker - LOL! :earboy2:

I haven't seen anything like the $40 each way, and I've been looking!

On IA, it ws $49 each way, but on the way to Orlando it has a change of planes in SC, causing the taxes to be higher, resulting in the $122.60 airfare. Coming home to Dulles it's a direct flight.

Did anyone else notice that Independance Air website looks identical to the JetBlue website?

Just an observation! :smooth:

Just so you know, Independence Air has nothing to do with JetBlue. Independence used to be atlantic coast airways--a feeder that served as United Express and Delta Connection. While working for United, I probably flew ACA 50 times, and in my opinion, changing planes at Dulles rather than O'hare or other airports is a plus. There is very little walking--you take "mobile lounges" between the terminals.
