Here we go friends, another monthly team thread. Lets hear from you, enquiring minds want to know whats up with y'all.

So as I alluded to in the Sept thread, my training is :headache::rolleyes1:sad2: I have had ZERO desire to run, which is so odd for me. But the darkness in the morning along with the coziness of the bed just keeps me from getting up and out. I did restart WW this week and have been doing incline walking on the treadmill in the morning, since hey, any exercise is better than none. I am enjoying it, as I can read my nook while I walk (I can hear Jillian yelling at me, but hey, I'm breaking a sweat and not holding on so, what ever). I am planning to do a 6 mile run Sat and a 3 miler on Sunday. Then the next Sunday is the race. My goal for that at this point is to just finish, time is not important.

I think part of the blahs for me is the post-race, trip, good time let down. I put so much into that DL Half, setting a new PR, kicking my FIL's tushie, that I am just deflated at this point. I gotta get some of my spunk back, but I am hoping that the race environment will kick my booty into gear.

Did I mention that Mark and Jay from season 5 of BL are running the race I am doing and will be at the race expo for photos etc? I would love to take DD to see them, she just loves BL. Will have to see how things play out.

Well enough about me, I want to hear how all my peeps are doing. Hope you are all well!

Good morning and happy October!! Let's make this an incredible month!!

I think I posted on the sept thread about 2 weeks ago, at least. It's been a busy month, getting back into the swing of the school schedule. I've become an assistant cub scout leader so that will be fun.

I have been doing well with my running. I had a goal of run/walking 7 miles by oct 1st and then I would register for the princess half. On monday I did 7 miles with a pace of 15.06, so I was psyched. On tuesday, I was sore, and thought there was no way I would be able to do a half marathon, but wed morning I got out for 3 miles, and I felt back to normal, and I registered for the princess!! So excited. I have this fear of being swept, but if I continue to add slowly to my long run, as I've been doing, I should be able to keep that pace as I build up my endurance.

I'm still trying to get completely back on track with eating. With the WISH BL challenge I've lost 3.6 since sept 1st, which isn't much, but if I did that each month til feb, it would add up to about 17 pounds. So I keep plugging away, with my weekly out of control eating. I do think the running is counteracting the eating. I maintained this week, and I had binged 3 cider donuts, 12 lorna doones, 2 ice cream cones, and those are what I remember. I've got to journal every day since that makes such a big difference for me.

Vern- :hug:Hugs on the training motivation. You're doing the tread mill still, so that is huge. We all need a break sometimes, and this is your time to take it easy. Maybe your body is just tapering for next weeks race and you will rock it. How awesome it will be to see the BL contestants. I was thinking about that when I watched the opener this season, if I was on the ball, I could have figured out when they were in Boston, and gone in to see the tryouts. I loved reading your blog post. That is so awesome and inspiring.

Megan and anyone else participating in the Wine and Dine- :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:Good luck!!! You will be INCREDIBLE!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

As I say every month, I hope to be a little more active here.

Have an Incredible day!!!:)

Hello Incredible teamies! Sorry I was MIA the end of last month, we went to the World for my birthday present and I was swamped before with packing and then enjoying my trip. We had a great time but realized pretty quickly that we need to adjust our plans for January, there is no way we can be there for 7 days! Plus we are thinking we need a 1 bedroom villa. So now I am looking at new resorts and trying to figure out budgets. I am between BC regular room and BWV 1br suite. We shall see.
My training has gone well other than missing two runs while on vaycay. I do 11 this Sunday as my first over 10 since a half I did last Thanksgiving! Wish me luck!

Veronica- it sucks that you are feeling so blah. I hope you feel Perked up for the race, I always feed off of the excitement of a race. And just think, in two weeks you don't have to run anymore, you can do whatever you want:).

Mikamah- congrats on the 7 miles!!! You have so much time to get ready for the Princess, you will rock it!

Have an Incredible day ladies!

Can I come back? I have been MIA for several months for health reasons. Not all of those issues are completely worked out, but I'm now convinced that I don't have anything that's going to kill me, so that's good!

After 2 1/2 months off, I started running again at the end of August, and I am back up to 4 miles. Considering the longest I had run before stopping in June was 4.5 miles, I am pretty pleased with that (I just started running in January). I am planning to sign up for the Princess Half by the end of the month before the price increases.

During all my health concerns over the last four months, I lost 20 pounds, so that's the silver lining. I am now the same as I was when I got married. I NEVER thought I would reach this point again!

Kathy-Congrats on your seven miles! I am looking forward to registering for the race soon!

Beth-Good luck with the trip planning!

Veronica-Sorry you are having motivational issues. I am sure your race will still be great, and maybe things will click back into place soon.

I hope it's okay for me to jump back in. I am ready to be Incredible again!

HI Incredibles!!! I feel like October is going to be a great month!

I have gotten a little lazy for the past month or two and the change of schedules has thrown off my running. I am still getting in 2 runs a week. I ran a 5K in NYC last week that was amazing. I think I told you all about what is was already. It was the greatest running experience I have done. I will try to post a pic or two once I get them onto my computer.

I have a 5mile women's race in 2 weeks. My goal is to complete it in an hour or less. Today I ran 5 around my neighborhood and it was exactly 1 hr and 10sec.

I have also made a plan for meals again. I feel in so much more control. I have lost 30.8lbs to date. I am hoping to get to my 2nd child's pre-pregnancy by the end of this month. I have 7.2lbs to go. I think its an attainable goal.

Veronica- I have been hearing alot of people that have lost motivation after the DL half. I thinks its normal. I am sure you will pick right back up where you left off. Your next race sounds awesome. I hope you get to meet the BL guys.

Kathy- You are doing so great. I am so glad you signed up for the princess. Did you make your resort ressies yet?

Bephus- That sounds like a wonderful birthday present. I hope you can work things out for your next trip. Good luck with the longer runs!!!

Lauren- So glad to hear from you. Great job getting back into running. Great weight loss! I hope you are feeling better and can make it to the princess.

Way to go on your weight loss!!!

A kindergarten teacher from my kids' school participated in a 5K in New York last weekend. I think it was to remember the path that someone ran to the Towers on 9/11. She said it was an amazing experience. Was this the same race you did?

So glad that you are doing so well!

Lauren-you are an INCREDIBLE, even if you were away for a bit. We are glad you are back in action. Great job on the weight loss:thumbsup2

Kathy- YOU GO GIRL!! 7 miles is awesome! I still remember my first 7 mile run, it was one of the best runs I ever had.

Lindsay-I read your race report (and commented) on your journal. Again, I was crying reading it, can't imagine how powerfully emotional it was in person.

Beth-Glad you had a great vacation! Good luck with your planning for the next trip. And good luck with your 10 mile run.

Where are the rest of my INCREDIBLE girls? Come back we miss you!!

Well my run yesterday was INCREDIBLE. The weather here in FL finally turned into fall temps and I got to run in mid-60's temps and low humidity. Yay! There weren't many other runners out because there was a big local half on Saturday but it was all good. I actually felt so good at the end that I decided to sprint the last two miles. Well, sprint in the long run sense;). I ended up averaging just under 9 min miles which is great for a long run for me, especially since my goal pace for the half in Nov is 8:49 min miles. I am feeling really good about my chances for that time.
My SIL might go with me to my half in Nov to cheer me on. I am thinking about seeing if the 5k is still open so she can run too. That would be fun.
I hope you all had an Incredible weekend and that all the W&D runners had a great race.

Morning all! I can't believe it's October already! I have to change up all my calendars in my office. Yikes!

I ran the Wine & Dine Half on Saturday night/Sunday morning. It was... well, I don't plan to do it again. My time was really slow, about 15 minutes slower than my previous half. I think the biggest issue for me was that it was a night race and my body just wasn't ready. Usually, before a race, I'm all pumped up and ready to go. I didn't have that feeling for this race and I think that's because I was just so tired. So the first three miles were ROUGH. Running through the parks was fun, but the finish line party was a bust. Super crowded and just not my thing. I ended up just going back to the hotel to sleep. But the medal is awesome

The course wasn't well lit in spots, and I managed to twist my ankle. It's still a little swollen today and I'm hoping that heals soon. I'm going to take it very very easy for the next few days and maybe take the time to clean my apartment. My next race is on the 24th (the Army Ten Miler here in DC) so I need to get back to running at some point. Maybe I'll feel up to it by Sunday. We'll see.

I signed up for Weight Watchers again today. Now that the major race training is over, I have no excuse.

So sorry about your ankle, but congrats on finishing. I almost signed up for a 10K that is at night soon, but I decided not to. I always run in the morning, and I just don't feel like it by evening. Your post makes me feel like I made the right choice!

I ran 4.5 miles yesterday, so I am back where I was before I stopped running in June. I did sign up for a 10K on November 6, so I am excited about that!

I hope you all had an Incredible weekend and that all the W&D runners had a great race.

I meant to respond to you in my last post as well, but I messed up. I love warm weather, but it is definitely easier to run when it is cooler! I'm in TN, and we had 95 degree temps until last week. It is so much easier to run now, but since the highs dropped from 95 to upper 60s, I'm cold!

So glad you had a good run!

Hello,

For those wanting a "WISH racing team" Headsweats brand Visor and/or Hat by the January Marathon Weekend, please hurry and place your order over on the thread. I need to get the minimums before the end of the month so the order can be placed and I can get them mailed out to people.

Find the link below in my signature for the Hat/Visor order (not the special order Visor)

Thanks!!

Thanks! The ankle is slowly getting better. I think this may be an injury that I reaggravate for the rest of my life, unfortunately. It happened over 12 years ago, and just never healed fully, even with all the physical therapy I suffered through.

I don't think I'm out of night races forever. Maybe no more night half marathons that start that late. While I love staying up late, thanks to my job, I've become an early riser. I am registered for a 4 miler on New Year's Eve, but that starts at 6:30. I think that's definitely doable (actually, being outside on NYE in the DC area makes me shiver already). But I think for me, nothing more than a 10K at night and definitely nothing that starts at 10 pm! That's bedtime!

Thanks! I am so loving the cooler weather, especially for running. I ran my speedwork on Tuesday and averaged just over 8 min miles for 3 miles. I usually do 8:20's! Plus I was pushing the double stroller. It is amazing what a few degrees can do.
About night races, I have only ever done 5k's at night so I really have no idea how I would feel. I do run in the evenings quite a lot, but nowhere near 10pm. That is too close to bedtime for me too! I am glad you finished Megan, and I am so sorry you twisted your ankle, that really stinks.

I have figured out my outline plan for marathon weekend. We are still staying at CBR mainly for budget reasons even though I would have loved to stay at Beach Club. Now we are heading down Thursday morning, and going to the expo when it opens at noon. DH and I will run the 5k Friday morning with me pushing the stroller so I don't try to run too fast. Then the kids are doing the kiddie races later that day. Saturday is the half, Sunday the full and then we are going home Monday. We will do a little park touring Thursday afternoon, Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. On Sunday we will go to dinner at epcot and probably stay for the fireworks if I get a decent nap. I may go back to the resort earlier than everyone else Saturday to get a nap in before dinner so I am not completely wiped out. It should be interesting:).

Hello ladies!!

Megan-congrats on finishing the W&D, I give you credit. No way I could run at 10pm. I don't like running after 10 AM. And hope your ankle feels better.

Beth-glad you are getting some nicer weather for running. Your plans for marathon weekend sound good, wish I was going again this year.

As for me, today I go to the expo to pick up my race packet for my half tomorrow. I am not nervous or anything, just want to get it over with at this point. I talked to my coach the other night, he believes I can come very close to my DL time, if not beat it. I am thinking positive, but really I just want to run and not stress about time.

How is everyone else doing? Hope you are all well and feeling good, running or walking well.

Veronica - Hope your race went wonderfully today!

I forgot to tell everyone my good Disney news. We've been to WDW almost annually since my almost 9yo son was two. We were planning to take a year off this year, so we took trips to the beach and Chicago instead. At the end of July, my husband said, "I'm going to be gone for a whole week in November (he travels a lot, but not usually from Sunday to Saturday). Why don't you just take the kids out of school and go to Disney with the free dining deal." Of course, I thought that sounded great! AND--he suggested that at the end of the trip, we upgrade our tickets to APs and we can go back for spring break, beginning and end of summer, and fall break! I am so excited! Because my husband travels a lot, we get lots of free flights, so we can travel free for most of our trips. We also may drive down once or twice and spend the night with his sister in Atlanta, which is almost halfway. My husband will go with us at least twice, but the kids are big enough to ride everything now so I feel like I can handle them on my own. We've already discussed that we won't be able to separate when people want to do different things, so they are expecting some compromises that they don't usually have to make when we have a 1:1 parent/child ratio.

Anyway, I know this has nothing to do with running, but I wanted to share my Disney excitement. We only have a little over a month before we leave!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We are off to a bonfire/hayride/chili supper. It's 90 degrees, so it doesn't really feel like fall, but I am sure we will have fun!

Can't wait to hear about the race, Veronica!

Lauren, that's awesome! Yay!

I'm at the end of my resting up after the W&D half. I've been scouring my apartment today (fun times) and tomorrow, I'm going to try for a 7 mile run. Crossing my fingers it goes well. I've got a 10 mile race in 2 weeks, so I need to keep these legs in shape!

Race is tomorrow, I am feeling the fire in my belly again. I am ready to rock it. Race day forecast is awesome, sunny and in the 50's, perfect running weather.

I got to meet Mark and Jay, the brothers from BL season 5. They are running the full tomorrow, and they are really nice guys. The expo was kinda lame, but hey, I am used to Disney expo's so everything seems lame after those. Unfortunately, I made a tactical error. I asked for a small shirt, thinking they were unisex. WRONG. They do ladies and mens. So the shirt is a little snug:sad1: I was really hoping to wear it on Monday, and I could, but it would just be a little too tight for my comfort. They would not allow exchanges, so I have put up notices on a couple message boards that if anyone got a shirt thats too big to let me know and I would be happy to trade.

I will post up once I get back tomorrow, sometime in the afternoon. I know my INCREDIBLES will be cheering me on from all over. And I have my own multi coast cheer squad sending me good vibes too.

12 hours from now I toe the line!:cheer2:
