Yayayayaya! Our meet!!
I was so excited that we were able to make it happen. Though I am not thrilled with how awful my hair looks after my Splash Mountain soaking.
I look like an amazon compared to you in our picture. :
I just love a Great DIS meet!! You meet some of the most amazing people on at the most amazing place!!! WOOT WOOT!!!
You had the battery with you the whole time, LOL sounds completely like something I would do LOL!!!!!!! Oh well live and learn and WTG not melting down and making the most of it!!!!
Can't wait for more!!
Too bad about the extra trip for the battery you already had. At least you got some good sunset shots.
I pretty happy with my castle shots and leave to Jen to incorporate the topiaries. She's got that creative gene going full tilt. Now we will all be going out and trying it.I love all the fireworks shots. They are so pretty. That was a neat idea to use the Mickey and Minnie topiaries in the pictures.
Okay, I had a few updates to get caught up on, but the good thing about that is -- the cliffhangers are short!
That is too funny that your battery was with you the whole time, and you never confessed to Jen until now. Good thing you only had to go to BLT. Kidani would've been a different story.
Nice sunset picture!
Yay for the DISmeet! And what a Splash picture.![]()
Jen, that is a great shot of the fireworks behind the topiaries!![]()
OMG, MEK....and I thought I was a bubble-head!::
I have a feeling you will NEVER live that one down....
I have a feeling all your DISroomies in May are going to be very clear about what you DO have in your possession and what you DON'T have in your possession every time you leave BCV!![]()
And your little "outfit" on SM?
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to start a thread of ridiculous ride pics- I hope you'll post that one!
And I LOVEyour Wishes pics with Mickey & Minnie!! AWESOME!!
Jen- you are a very kind and patient friend to MEK!![]()
NO - the only thing worse would have been to have the battery or night and not know it was there. Then I would have been really annoyed if I had carried the camera around and not taken a single picture when I could have. That would have been a DOH DOH DOH DOH DOH DOH moment!Wow, the only thing worse than forgetting the camera battery in the first place, is going all the way back and finding that you had it the entire timeI'm sure it was frustrating then, but it is pretty funny

I am also totally cracking up over your glasses and poncho on SM![]()
Jen, I can't believe she made you run! I have the exact same philosophy as you when it comes to running - I don't!!I really love those fireworks pictures you took with the Mickey & Minnie topiaries - so clever!!

I'll have to get in shape if I'm going to WDW with MEK again!MEK said:Oh PLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZ!
Here they are! Making great caricatures with brooms and water!
I brought Pal Mickey with me instead and I realized why they don't sell them anymore. What I pain to carry him around. Flat Mickey was much easier to work with, although less witty.

I then said, "What? No Goofy?" And they obliged me!

It was really cool. I believe they said it started in Hong Kong Disney and it was such a crowd pleaser that they started encouraging it. I bet towel animals started the same way.
Once the Forgetful Sherpa returned from her fool's errand, she found LL and Marc, who I had been dutifully looking for in a poodle skirt and bowling shirt for a good 10 minutes. MEK and LL chatted it up and we all headed off to Splash Mtn.
Yes, that really is Mary Ellen riding Splash Mountain (wearing a yellow poncho and dollar store glowstick mask and mardi-gras beads) with her hands up screaming like a small child. I love the magic of Walt Disney World![]()
Then she did it. She made me RUN! And she didn't even know where we were running TO! I think if she had really known where we were running to we would have run THE OTHER WAY! As it was, we took the long way.
Mary Ellen has mentioned that she likes to run. She ran just about every morning we were there. She'll probably run every morning on her May trip. Let me tell you how I feel about running.
I only run when chased.
I only run when chased by something larger and/or meaner than me. And in the event that I encounter that thing, I only have to run faster long enough to get farther ahead of you.
It did not take me long to run out of steam! Granted, laughing along the way didn't help! What were we talking about that made us crack up? It was something about our shoes I think. Damn, I wish I remembered!
The GREAT and WONDERFUL thing about traveling with a true friend and WDW Geek is that we are ok together and apart. I enjoyed watching the fireworks and even managed to get a couple good shots!

Then I realized I was standing near the Mickey and Minnie topiary and I had an idea. I changed a few settings on my camera got in position and took these:

Yay, looks like you guys had a great Dis meet! I'm probably going to do the same thing on Splash next time I go, wear a poncho, I'm not a big fan of getting soaked!
Great pics of Hallowishes!

A Chinese CM made an AWESOME Jafar/Genie picture when we were in Epcot last may. The highlight, of course, was the older couple, complete with scooter, driving directly over it a minute after he finished. Apparently a ring of people looking down is not enough to catch some people's attention.

Probably not very funny at the time. But sometimes you just gotta laugh.
Love the pics with the topiary's and fireworks.

I bet you are right, that is SO cool!

Mary Ellen, either you are really short or Leslie is really tall, I can't figure out which. I may look like an Amazon next to you too! Not that I'm all that tall but....

eandesmom said:She will probably run every day. I think I'll walk with my coffee and meet up with her at the end. I'm kind of with you on the only running unless chased. Or a certain kid needs to train and I'm the only body available to train with him. Thankfully I don't have to do that anymore! But laughing will kill me every time. Talk, at best, must be kept to a minimum.
GREAT pics!
I'm still pretty speechless about that camera saga. I keep thinking, "Why didn't I ask to take a look?"... duh, why in the heck would I ask to see the camera? To see if I could magically make a battery appear? (granted, I could have, but I didn't know that then!) "Didn't she feel the weight difference?"... well, with the stuff she was sherpa-ing around it would be easy to miss a simple battery, especially since she didn't pick the camera up out of the bag. As soon as she saw the charger missing she was sure the battery was with it. Whaddyagonnado?![]()
MEK is about.... I'd say 65 or 66 inches. I'm 67" and she's just about my height. How tall are you LL?
