I believe there is a deal in effect where buyers at SSR get an $8/point discount so that they're paying $90/point instead of $98/point. Is there any extra or different incentive for people who are already DVC members?

I have no idea, but, since no one has responded, I thought I would give a little bump!

I guess you want to know the answer as well. ;)

Thanks.

I recently received the DVC "blue book" and information for a first purchase. The only incentive I have gathered is the $90 a point. They don't refer to it that way, though. They refer to it as "apply a credit of up to $1200 or more to the cost of you Ownership Interest . . . ". That is the difference between $98 and $90 a point with a minimum purchase of $150.

First of all, as a professional editor, "up to $1,200 or more" drives me crazy. If it's up to $1,200, it can't be more than $1,200.

Anyway, I think you might have had a typo. Are you saying that you need to buy at least 150 points to get the $8/point discount?

The incentive mentioned is for new purchases of 150 points but the $8 will apply also to larger purchases (if you buy 200 points you'd get $1600 ).

I'm not certain of any incentives specific to existing members at this time. There are no incentives on anything other than SSR purchases. In the past, these incentives would also apply to add-ons of 100 points or more - nothing on smaller ad-ons by existing members. Recently, there was an incentive (100 bonus points) for existing members who purchased 120 points at SSR, but I'm not clear if that is still available now since the recent price increase.

Dear Editor
I don't have a typo. I copied it "as is" from the flyer I received - I was only trying to help you out. This is for SSR only. As I mentioned, I will be a first time buyer and am only referring to the information I received from DVC. As I understand it, you would have to buy 150 points or more. I don't know if this applies to existing DVC members or not.

Please don't take any offense. I said it drove me crazy, but I didn't say you did it. I know it was a Disney copywriter that made the mistake. I see that kind of language in ads all the time.

The latest I've heard is that, after June 19, there are no incentives for add-ons at SSR (or anywhere else). That, of course, is subject to change at any moment, so I'd check with your guide to be sure.
