Inaugural Disney Wine&Dine**1/2 Marathon** Post Race Discussion!

Hmmmm.... this will totally screw with my Boma reservation. What to do?
LOVE it! Food comes first in my opinion. Who cares if he's a former Olympian?!? :confused3 Seriously, who knows how many slots they are providing or how to do this at this point. I wouldn't be changing any plans yet.

:lovestruc

I made an earlier breakfast res just in case. I'll cancel whichever I don't need in about an hour. This could be REALLY cool.

Hey WISHers, DisneySports just "tweeted" that an opportunity to run with runDisney training consultant Jeff Galloway this Friday before Wine&Dine will be posted on the DisneyParks blog at 11:00am. It'd be so cool to have a WISHer there. Here's the link to the blog.

Here's the DisneySports "tweet"

RT @DisneySports Check (DisneyParks blog link) @11am 4 unique opportunity to meet&run w Jeff Galloway Fri. Space is limited. Don’t be late.

Sounds totally awesome, but I fear it would be wasted on me. I'm too much of a n00b to really enjoy it. I will let someone who would benefit more take my proverbial slot.:goodvibes

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Dave!

made a few runs with Jeff. It is really a great time if you can make it! If he follows a similar path as other runs, you do not need to be a fast runner; actually, really speedy guys will feel slow

Hi Dave! It's been a long time, hope you're doing well! :wave2:

*hoping I get lucky*

I was hitting refresh over and over at 11am. Did a speed read of what I needed to do, and sent off the e-mail.

*crosses fingers* It's going to be a LONG three hour wait.

They're full! I hope some WISHers got in.

@WaltDisneyWorld: We have reached capacity! Thanks for everyone’s interest in the Run with Jeff Galloway Meet-Up

I have an OT question... DH would like a Garmin run watch for his bday(a week after I return from wdw) and thought the $400 one is what he wants! I dont have a $400 budget but could probably swing $150.

Any recommendations on a model - I dint know much about them.

Thanks!

I agree with Coach. I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 and I love it! I bought it for about $150 off of amazon earlier this year (although they had a "Deal of the Day" thing on Amazon shortly thereafter and it was something like $125). I don't use the heart rate monitor but it's nice to have in case I want to. I haven't read the manual or use (or discovered) all of the functions yet but I love knowing the exact distance and pace I'm going. It's one of the best running tools I've bought.

I am not running (or walking) this weekend but I have been following along since I have friends who will be participating. I just wanted to take a second to congratulate ALL of you who have trained so hard for this Half Marathon. Can't wait to see you cross that finish line... kind of. ;)

You should all be proud of yourselves. I know I am proud of each and every one of you!!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw your post Amy! Hi indeed! :wave2: Will you be at Wine&Dine this weekend? I'll be there.
