Do you think they will offer the dining plan to the general public/visa holders again for this year? I know nobody really KNOWS but I am curious as to what you all think. We are wanting to plan a trip again for this year and we are waiting to find out if they are going to offer it or not. We have gone the last 2 years and LOVED it with free dining. It just makes things so much easier and more affordable.

So what do you guys think? Am I holding out for no reason or should I keep my hopes up that they will offer it again?? ;)

I think they will. I don't really care, because we don't go during that period -- but for all of you who do, we're rooting for you!

I think they will want to keep the good momentum going, although they may allocate less availability for the program due to the success of the UK and Bounce Back promotions.

Obviously, I don't know.
But I don't think they will this year.
Because of the popularity of the Bounce Back program and the UK free dining promotion, I think it is very possible that they have booked enough rooms to not offer the promotion to the general public this year.

I agree! I was able to book free dining for Sept 29th-Oct 7th via the Bounce Back Program and the CM at PORS made a point of saying that due to complaints of both visitors and restaraunts that free dining was going to be severely limited for 2007 and the only way it was going to be offered was via the UK program and the Bounce Back program. He told me this after I had already booked my pkg so there was no reason to use it as a sales tactic. He also said they were shocked at how many people booked just an overnight stay in order to come down and book the Bounce Back Program and that the Bounce Back Program may have backfired on them as they already had more than they intended book.

Also I called a couple of weeks ago to see if I could get the 40% off codes for another trip and was told no. However the CM said that with the screw up over the 40% codes and that because so many people got them that weren't supposed to, that she doubted if Disney offered very many more deals for 2007 (as they still had to pacify the AP holders and Florida residents--this was just before the AP codes came out). I laughed and said I guess we can kiss free dining for Sept goodbye then and she laughed and said 'that's true'.

I couldn't answer. I really thing it is 50%/50% at this point.

i think it will be offered but for a shorter offer period.Seam to rember it was extended to book last year?

I am now wearing my rosy glasses and saying YES! Last year people on these boards were saying that it would never be offered again. I don't think anyone really knows, but since I am one of those waiting; I am just being optimistic.

I tenatively voted yes. I booked the bounce back this year because I happened to be there in December but I really had to go and look for the sign up booths while I was there. I mentioned it to people at the pool and they looked at me like I was crazy, so I'm not sure how many people did take advantage of it through bounce back.

The free dining could be more limited or offered with more minimum nights attached if they did do it again. I'm hoping that they do though :)

Disney has already offered 3 different, targeted discounts for that timeframe (bounce back, UK free dining and 40% off codes).

If it is offered I think it will be in a very limited way, and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't allow 1 day tickets with the package (i.e. 7 night stay with 8 day tickets with free dining or something along that line).

But really, the only ones who know are the marketing people at Disney.

And they may not have even made up their minds yet.

I really, really hope so.

I am counting the days until the beginning of April to see, since that is when they offered it last year.

If they don't offer it, we may not go to Disneyworld this year, so I am really hoping they do!

Thanks for all the opinions. I pray they offer it too. I do not think we will go if they don't. We got to used to enjoying all the food the last 2 years to not have that freedom. We looked into just buying it but man that jacks up the trip price WAY too much.

We will more than likely look into a cruise if we can't do Disney this year. I can't wait til we find out for sure. I am ready to plan SOMETHING! ;)

I voted "yes" but want to qualify my vote. I know that Disney has the bounce back program and has offered free dining to the UK. I imagine that if there are enough reservations already they may not. I think that if an active hurricane season is predicted because of La Nina, we may see it again.

Last august I planned an extra trip because of free dining, and now DH is praying that it is not offered again. He just does not understand how hard it is to pass up a "sale":confused3.

With the UK Program participants had to purchase length of stay passes, but with the Bounce Back you only had to buy one day tickets. Who knows what will be required if free dining is offered?:confused3
