How many generations have there been in your immediate family? I'm not talking about your cousin's husband's brother's wife's family but starting with you, how many.

I've never seen more than 4 in my family. Before my mother passed on there was my brother and me, his daughters and they had children. My grand neices and nephews are still quite young... under 8 years old I think.

So how many generations have you, yourself seen?

4 for me. My great-grandmother died the week before we got married. And now my children are growing up knowing their great-grandmother, which is as neat for them as it was for me.

5 for me too

My great Grandmother died when I was 8 or 9 but at that time my cousin had had a baby.

So we had G-Grandmother, our granny, our mothers, my cousin and her child.

Now there are only 3.

We had 6 for about 6 months. It was my grandmother's grandma, her mother, her, my mom, me, and my daughter.

Only 3 for me. My great-grandparents were all gone before I was born. But I'm the youngest in my family (in my generation). I didn't even get much time with 3 of my grandparents. My family has a history of older parents. My grandparents were in their 40s when they had my parents. My parents were in their 30s. I think I was the youngest in my family to have a baby--at 25.

5 for me too. When DD was born she had 1 Great-Great Grandma, all 8 of her Great-Grandparents and 6 Grandparents (my parents are divorced and remarried). She has lost her Great-Great Grandma and 2 Great-Grandmas.

My Great Grandmother died when she was 102. All three of my children have five generation pictures in their baby books.

5 for me. My Great-great Grandmother died when I was nine. I have to attribute my love of cheetos to her. We alway had to bring her some when we visited her and she would share with me. I always think of her when I eat them.

4

A couple of my grandparents were alive to see a couple of my kids.

I had my kids young, so I expect to be around to see my grandkids grow up (hope so, anyway!) and maybe even live to see great-grands. :)

Brother
His daughter (my niece) she had her first before I did, although I'm 13 years older
Her son (my great nephew) Her son is older than brother's eldest from his second marriage
His son (my great grand nephew)

edited to add that MY grandmother was alive when my great nephew was born, so that was another 5 generation group

DH's mother didn't live to see any of her grandchildren...SIL was pregnant with her first when MIL died

FIL lived to see my eldest, but died long before my youngest was born.

5 for us! From my daughter up to my great grandmother. My daughter is 15 years old now and we're all still here except for my great grandmother.

Not quite 5. My great grandmother outlived my grandmother, (her DD) but my grandfather was still alive so I kinda count that....So for a short time it was Great-Grandma, Grandfather, my mom, me, and DS#1.

4 for me, my Mom's Grandpa died just a few months after I was born, so it was only for a short time.

My Grandparents were all gone before I ever married and had kids, so it has been 3 since then.

If you count my Mom's biological mother it would be 4 I guess, she passed away last year and my girls were 20 and 11 years old at the time.

Only 3 for me. My Mom was 30 when she had me and her Mom was 30 when she had her. My Dad was 36 and his Mom lived till I was 10. I'm the youngest, by FAR, in my family.

My son on his father's side, was 11 months old when his great Grandfather died at 99. His Grandmother is only 10 years older than me! I always tell him I gave him an old family and a young family! His father was the oldest in his family.

5. I still cherish the pic I have of my grandmother holding her DD's DD's DD's (me) son. She was 98 and my DS was a few weeks old. My Grandmother lived to age 107!

4 for me
My greatgrandmother, my grandfather, my mother and me and my brother
4 for my husbad as well. his grandmother, his mother, him and our daughters on his mother's side
