In the Spirit of the Season

Love the update! Glad the end of the day went well!

Lilo and Stitch look adorable in their Christmas gear.

And the parade is the Main Street Electrical Parade. :goodvibes:

I didn't even realize that they had special outfits! Very cool!

And thanks for giving me the name of the parade. I am feeling kinda sluggish today... I had a very very busy work week that took it out of me. So while I know I could have looked it up, my computer and mouse are giving me trouble and I just didn't want to hassle with it. So thank you! :thumbsup2

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

I don't think I realized how long your trip was...amazing. :cloud9: I wish Jetblue didn't charge that stupid $100/person change fee, otherwise I'd be adding a day onto our summer trip. Oh well.

...and wow..you have been an UPDATING MACHINE! I knew I was far behind, but I didn't think It was five or six updates behind! :rotfl: We had the same thing happen to us with our CP ADR in February; all of a sudden the park was open at 8 and CP didn't seem quite as important anymore. :confused3 But how cool that you were among the first people in?

Love Zoe's red striped hat. Adorable and definitely in the spirit of the season. :thumbsup2

Your meal at Kona looked great. I had the Tuna Oscar, too, and loved it. I think I'm headed back there in a week. Sorry your noodles weren't that great.

Looking forward to hearing how late you make it at MK!

How fun that Zoe was able to M&G with Lilo and Stitch during your wait for Kona! That's too bad that your noodles were disappointing, but the rest of your meal looks really good!

It sounds like you guys got a good amount done during EMH's! Too bad Steve and Alex weren't able to ride much more after you left!

No problem ma'am!

[it's my favorite parade...] :thumbsup2

Happy Easter to you as well!

Our trip was indeed long. We had 2 nights at Pop and 11 at WL. We left on 12/9 and got back home on 12/23 (in the middle of the night, 12/23..but still 12/23)

Yep, I am trying to get this TR done so I can start a PTR. I miss not having people agonize over changes with me..

I am surprised that Zoe wore the hat. She hates being overheated...and none of the days we were there were particularly cool (thank god)

As for how long I made it in MK... till about 1am. I think I began to head out of the park at that time since I was on the bus by 1:14.

Happy Easter!

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy the castle lighting ceremony!

Dinner at Kona looks fabulous! Would you/ are you putting it on your list to return to?

Hope you have a terrific holiday.

:rotfl: I always feel that way...but I'm taking forever to finish this TR, then I'm going to have another TR to write. :sad2: Oh the problems we face. :rotfl: All great problems to have!

Normally, I would put it on my list. I ate there once before and actually liked it much better. Next trip I want to try some new places...

very true... very good problems to have!!!

I have to share how mad I am at myself.

I think I have mentioned that Betsy and I are planning to do the ToT 10 mile run while on our trip. So... I have been trying to take advantage of nice days and jog/walk. I have been doing a couple miles and today I was going out for the third day in a row. :woohoo: I didn't have Zoe with me though so I thought I would push myself a bit more and really do the timed deal...

Steve had told me his sister (who is a marathon runner) said to just use my watch/phone to time my self. I had thought that was a bad idea... I mean... takes me a second to focus on my phone... But I thought i would give it a try and so I set up the stopwatch...

I looked at it and didnt notice an imperfection in the sidwalk. My toe hit... and I went flying...

I was about a mile from home and walked home dripping blood. I tore up my hands (front and back) and my legs. :headache:

Oh my! I hope you are OK! My iPod has a Nike+ or Nike Fit running app that I use. It calculates your steps and time. I just clip it on my shirt and go. I also am a big fan of run a mile walk a minute. It def helps you regain your stamina. I ran for the first time since my knee surgery in April this saturday and my did I ache! I can't even imagine what you are feeling! Although I ran a 7 mile race on a foot with a stress fracture so maybe I can lol. Make sure you ice, and I hope you feel better soon!

Oh Ann, I am so sorry to hear that! Get better soon.

Oh no!!! I hope you're feeling better soon!!

Thank you all. :goodvibes The swelling on my legs and hands went down... so feels a bit better. Course, this morning my hand hurt so bad that I was seriously thinking I fractured something. It hurt to move it...let alone use it. I took some different pain/antiinflamitories and it helped. So maybe not a fracture. The bruising is not a severe as I would think for a break/fracture too.

I still hope to clean my shoe a bit. I managed to dribble blood all over my white shoes. (and they were such cute shoes :sad2:) So this has me a bit irritated still.

Also... I am feeling a bit terrified to run. I did go for a walk last night... it helped my knee to feel not so "tight" Using my hands though for work today only made them hurt more. So I am mad at myself for doing this to myself... soiling my shoes and making myself afraid to proceed. :headache:

I am so mad!:headache: I typed up a report for an entire day... and was adding pictures and accidentally clicked a link within my message :confused: Lost the entire thing. Now to start all over again. When I started this TR, I typed everything up as a document first... then to save time recently I started just doing it as a post. I guess I learned my lesson:rolleyes:

Sorry about your fall! Maybe Mr. Clean eraser will clean your shoes?

I hate when I lose a post!! It is so frustrating!

Hope you have a better week! :flower3:

How are you healing?

There's a reason I don't run... I'm not coordinated enough.

Our Last Day in AK

Tuesday, 12/20 was our last day in AK. Zoe and I hit AK early. Not quite in time for rd though.

We went to have breakfast first at Pizzafari. We split a breakfast panini.

IMG_0972.jpg

After breakfast, we went to Dinoland (keep track of how many times I mention heading to Dinoland in this day. )

Our first ride was Dinosaur.

IMG_0973.jpg

I am not sure why this ride always makes me nervous. I mean, I am an adult and I know it isn't real. It must be how loud it is.

A redneck photo for y'all.

IMG_0974.jpg

Next ride was Triceratops Spin. At this point, the park was still not too packed.

IMG_0976.jpg

IMG_0977.jpg

Once we were done there, we went to explore the Boneyard. Steve is typically not a fan of such things. All the small ones running around "unsupervised" the "chaos" Not his thing.. so we have always skipped it. I am so glad we didn't this time because Zoe really enjoyed all there was to do on the other side of the walk way. It really is a great little play area!

IMG_0978.jpg

IMG_0980.jpg

IMG_0981.jpg

After Zoe was done playing it was time for lunch. Prior to the trip, I had decided we would try Restrauntasaurus for the first time. Zoe and I split the shrimp poboy. I am not sure what the desssert was - maybe a cheesecake of some sort?

IMG_0986.jpg

As we were leaving the restaurant, a nice man came up and offered to give Zoe his pail and shovel that he had got when he ordered a kids meal for lunch. Gladly, Zoe accepted it.

Next we left Dinoland to go to the tree to see ITTBAB.

IMG_0989.jpg

IMG_0990.jpg

I was a tad frustrated because at this point crowds were really picking up and they crammed a ton of people into the theater. So many, I had to sit on the edge of a seat at the end of a row with most of my rear hanging off. Also I remember a large Hopper coming out to command the other bugs... and he was no where to be found this time.

At this point in the day, the guys were finally showered and were ready to meet us in the park.

Once they arrived we went to... Dinoland. There, Alex rode on Triceretops spin with Zoe. It was so hot that day. So Steve and I about melted as we sat on a bench waiting for them.

I think it must have been the heat, but once they were done ice cream sounded good. I splurged on myself and got something that was NOT a snack credit. It was so worth it though. It was soooo yummy!

IMG_0992.jpg

We had yet to see FOTLK this trip so it was next on my "to do list" I urged the guys that we had to hustle though to make the show. Course, as with most of the trip, no amount of begging or pleading would make them rush to anything so of course we arrived a tad bit too close to when the show was going to start...and the theater had reached capacity.

It all worked out ok though since it allowed us to do something else we had not ever done. The Character Trails! Zoe was able to see Meeko and Miss Bunny.

IMG_0995.jpg

IMG_0998.jpg

Then we came across Doug and even the guys wanted a pic.

IMG_1001.jpg

Then it was time to head where? Dinoland! Why? So the guys could ride Dinosaur.

Another redneck photo for y'all.

IMG_1002.jpg

I am not sure what exactly caused a change of heart for Steve, but all of a sudden he wanted to hustle to the Finding Nemo the Musical. He loves that show, and I guess he realized that I wasn't joking when I said we had a limited amount of time to get in anything we wanted to do. (where did the last two weeks go?) Unfortunately, Zoe was in need of a restroom break. This made Steve very nervous since HE didn't want to miss something. I told him to get seat and we would hurry. He got seats but was told several times he would have to give them up if Zoe and I didnt return soon. He was kinda a wreck texting me and texting me. Soon enough though we entered the theater and found him. (isn't that restroom near the exit to the theater in a great location?)
I tried to take pics, but sadly this is the best I got.

IMG_1009.jpg

IMG_1011.jpg

Next was dinner at Yak and Yeti. I had not ate there since 2008 when it had been a bad experience. I had heard lots of good things recently so we were going back to give it a second chance.

Steve and I each had the steak and shrimp with the wontons for dessert.

IMG_1017.jpg

IMG_1023.jpg

Alex and Zoe each had the honey chicken with sorbet for dessert.

IMG_1018.jpg

IMG_1021.jpg

Overall, everyone but me LOVED the meal. I neglected to order my steak rare..so it wasn't as good as I think it could have been. The wontons... while Steve loved them.. I think I had an expectation that they would be more amazing than there were and they kinda grossed me out.

Once dinner was over the guys wanted to see ITTBAB. I actually was happy about this show since we got better seats (even though, by this point I was getting a bit tired of "redos".)

IMG_1032.jpg

The park hours ahd been extened by an our, but with it being dark there was really no reason to stay since all we would have wanted to do was the safari.

Back at the room, we relaxed a bit. It gave Steve the time to do what he loved most on this trip - reading on the balcony.

IMG_1039.jpg

Zoe and Alex just chilled playing their pokemon game on (yes the very old) game boys.
