Our Last Day in AK
Tuesday, 12/20 was our last day in AK. Zoe and I hit AK early. Not quite in time for rd though.
We went to have breakfast first at Pizzafari. We split a breakfast panini.
After breakfast, we went to Dinoland (keep track of how many times I mention heading to Dinoland in this day. )
Our first ride was Dinosaur.
I am not sure why this ride always makes me nervous. I mean, I am an adult and I know it isn't real. It must be how loud it is.
A redneck photo for y'all.
Next ride was Triceratops Spin. At this point, the park was still not too packed.
Once we were done there, we went to explore the Boneyard. Steve is typically not a fan of such things. All the small ones running around "unsupervised" the "chaos" Not his thing.. so we have always skipped it. I am so glad we didn't this time because Zoe really enjoyed all there was to do on the other side of the walk way. It really is a great little play area!
After Zoe was done playing it was time for lunch. Prior to the trip, I had decided we would try Restrauntasaurus for the first time. Zoe and I split the shrimp poboy. I am not sure what the desssert was - maybe a cheesecake of some sort?
As we were leaving the restaurant, a nice man came up and offered to give Zoe his pail and shovel that he had got when he ordered a kids meal for lunch. Gladly, Zoe accepted it.
Next we left Dinoland to go to the tree to see ITTBAB.
I was a tad frustrated because at this point crowds were really picking up and they crammed a ton of people into the theater. So many, I had to sit on the edge of a seat at the end of a row with most of my rear hanging off. Also I remember a large Hopper coming out to command the other bugs... and he was no where to be found this time.
At this point in the day, the guys were finally showered and were ready to meet us in the park.
Once they arrived we went to... Dinoland. There, Alex rode on Triceretops spin with Zoe. It was so hot that day. So Steve and I about melted as we sat on a bench waiting for them.
I think it must have been the heat, but once they were done ice cream sounded good. I splurged on myself and got something that was NOT a snack credit. It was so worth it though. It was soooo yummy!
We had yet to see FOTLK this trip so it was next on my "to do list" I urged the guys that we had to hustle though to make the show. Course, as with most of the trip, no amount of begging or pleading would make them rush to anything so of course we arrived a tad bit too close to when the show was going to start...and the theater had reached capacity.
It all worked out ok though since it allowed us to do something else we had not ever done. The Character Trails! Zoe was able to see Meeko and Miss Bunny.
Then we came across Doug and even the guys wanted a pic.
Then it was time to head where? Dinoland! Why? So the guys could ride Dinosaur.
Another redneck photo for y'all.
I am not sure what exactly caused a change of heart for Steve, but all of a sudden he wanted to hustle to the Finding Nemo the Musical. He loves that show, and I guess he realized that I wasn't joking when I said we had a limited amount of time to get in anything we wanted to do. (where did the last two weeks go?) Unfortunately, Zoe was in need of a restroom break. This made Steve very nervous since HE didn't want to miss something. I told him to get seat and we would hurry. He got seats but was told several times he would have to give them up if Zoe and I didnt return soon. He was kinda a wreck texting me and texting me. Soon enough though we entered the theater and found him. (isn't that restroom near the exit to the theater in a great location?)
I tried to take pics, but sadly this is the best I got.
Next was dinner at Yak and Yeti. I had not ate there since 2008 when it had been a bad experience. I had heard lots of good things recently so we were going back to give it a second chance.
Steve and I each had the steak and shrimp with the wontons for dessert.
Alex and Zoe each had the honey chicken with sorbet for dessert.
Overall, everyone but me LOVED the meal. I neglected to order my steak rare..so it wasn't as good as I think it could have been. The wontons... while Steve loved them.. I think I had an expectation that they would be more amazing than there were and they kinda grossed me out.
Once dinner was over the guys wanted to see ITTBAB. I actually was happy about this show since we got better seats (even though, by this point I was getting a bit tired of "redos".)
The park hours ahd been extened by an our, but with it being dark there was really no reason to stay since all we would have wanted to do was the safari.
Back at the room, we relaxed a bit. It gave Steve the time to do what he loved most on this trip - reading on the balcony.
Zoe and Alex just chilled playing their pokemon game on (yes the very old) game boys.
