In the Spirit of the Season

So I went ahead and started my fall PTR. I spent all day trying to catch up on dis, so I am only up to having introdutions done.. but its a start.

Finally finished with your TR and heading over to your PTR! .

So I had to share with those of you who fly sw. I am a bit disappointed.

I am posting about it here since it mostly has to do with our december trip.

If any of you followed my PTR for the trip, you know that I changed the flight and was issued a credit, or "travel funds" were placed into my account for a future trip. To be used with in a year. Okay...so the year is near up and I am about to book our flights for our fall trip. In my mind... the funds expire in a few days so I should be able to use them to book, right?


WRONG!

When they say use... they mean USE. In other words I would have had to fly by the expiration date not book another flight. Makes me a bit frustrated.....and disappointed.


And Tammie... there you have some flight woes from me...just as you suspected would be happening soon..

Yup the airlines do get you with the whole have to fly by expiration date. Basically use it or loose it, so annoying! I feel your pain! I just got back last week from a last minute trip because of that exact reason. I am convinced that ticket was cursed Here is the short version of a very long story!

I booked it in June last year to go home to the Bahamas to visit family (well not my home anymore!) in September, had to cancel that then changed it to March, had to cancel that due to my husbands' grandfather passing away. I thought I could claim on my travel insurance and then realized nope cause I could change the ticket for a penalty of course.

Didn't look into the rebooking until we got back from the funeral when we then discovered I needed to use it by June 3rd. Had about 6 weeks left to use the ticket. Tickets home to The Bahamas were insanely expensive. SO flew to New York and went to visit my brother in Connecticut. To top it all off when we went to fly back all flights were canceled due to bad weather. Needless to say I was soooo glad to get back and sooo glad that ticket is done!!
