Anyone over here been on a DCL cruise?
Paul surprised me with a 3 night WDW / 4 night DCL trip.
And I just wanted to know if any of the:tinker: "enchanted team"
had been on board and if you had a good time or
got any "tude" for other guests on board?

Lotsa cruisers here, WallyB :goodvibes and they all seem to really love it a lot, It is SO NICE to have your electrons around here again!:goodvibes

HEY GUYS! WALLYB is BACK!!!!!! :yay:

Have been on a few DCL cruises with more in the works and never so much as a stare or blink. As you can tell from the signature, we love'm! pixiedust:

I think everyone's enthusiasm for things Disney overwhelms any other feelings.

Been on 13 DCL cruises, about of them with Padalyn. Never have we experienced any negatives, with one exception. The only negative we encounted was when Bob Sagett was the entertainer on the first Panama Crossing cruise. His show was unfreindly to families with children, let alone who was family, as he kept saying the F word that rhymes with his last name. You should have seen the line at guest services that night. But other then that, I have never had a problem with DCL.

 Why on earth did they book him- he's well noted as being one of the "bluest" comics out there.

From my understanding, it was a contractual thing due to ABC. I had also heard, that in concept meetings and rehearsals he did a completely different routine. Regardless of his history, and notability, he should have had enough common decency and dare I say common sense to realize on a Disney Cruise ship at the 6:00 show, that his audience would be full of children. How dumb and arrogant can you be. It wasn't alot of fun hearing young kids saying things like Mom whats a Fword, Dad what's gay. I'm sure more then one lifestyle/morals/acceptence/tolerance/hateful forced conversation took place that night, long before many parents wanted too. It was quite the uncomfortable night all around. I am not one who normally boycott's things perse, but anything Bob Sagett is involved with does not get my support. I won't even watch the commercials for the game show he hosts/hosted. My blood still boils over him:mad:

Umm - hunny? you kinda forgot to mention the fact that you also ended up with the grandmamma of migraines that night...so you were all fired up for lots of reasons.

But - to the OP:
DCL is VERY family friendly! Tiggr33 and I also did the surreal bath <sp??> which is mud play for grownups (can I say that and not get sensored???) well, the girl must have not realized we were 2 women due to Tiggr's name spelling (can be either gender!) and she blinked a couple of times when we checked in, but all was fine and fun!

We have seen anniversaries of gay couples held on board, the games in the nightclubs often have gay couples on the "know your spouse" game...lots of fun!!

Enjoy!!

Yes, I did have a migraine. But that still has NO bearing on his show. I would have been no less or more infuriated by his actions. He was inappropriate, period. Funny I could swear that you felt that same way as I did on this situation.

I was beyond PO'd at his show, I was just asking you to remember that the whole night was a mess - his show was just the beginning of a very rough night for you.

His show was definately not appropriate, and the whole thing just set a lot of folks on edge. I heard that he "toned it down" a bit for the second show, but was still not funny.

Well - enough about that bad event.

DCL is VERY gay friendly, and anyone who goes should be very happy with how comfortable the cast and crew make gay couples feel. We are truely treated as just another couple - I love it!!!

We've done two cruises and we felt extremely comfortable. On the medit, we were celebrating our anniversary, and they kept bringing cakes, and special trinkets for the entire 11 nights!

There was also alot of other family on that ship. We ended up having a group of about 10 guys we hung out with during the cruise.

We're doing the four night the week before gay day, and are hoping there will be some other family on-board.
