After a fews years of renting a cart on our FW visits... we would now like to purchase one. Does anyone have one or have recommendations to where we may find a used somewhat inexpensive cart for sale? DH wants to fix one up, so just about any condition would work.

Thanks.

ebay, newspaper and craigslist are of coarse your best bets. You husband will have alot of fun going the fixerupper route...ive enjoyed every minute of working on mine.

Just make sure if you get a electric cart and you want a club car make sure its a 48 volt not a 36 volt

CRAIGSLIST...brought one from a farmer a couple of weeks ago for a couple hundred. Put $100 in paint and 1 battery. Be patient with Craigslists and check it often. They seem to sell very fast, so contact the buyer as soon as you see the listing. Good luck!

Craigslist is a great way to find a cart. Also check with a local golf course at the end of the season they usually sell some of the older ones to buy new ones for the spring, if they don't lease them from somewhere. I also enjoy working on ours and customizing it. Be patient and wait for a good deal, there out there.

We have a couple older carts and the biggest item we have run into is batteries! We need two sets for both carts. I am thinking of finding a gas one now to replace these two.

Definitely buy a gas cart. Gas is cheap compared to what those batteries cost:scared1:. My full tank of gas goes a long way. When you got a whole family on the cart nothing compares to a gas cart going up a hill.

The biggest problem with a gas cart is using it at other campgrounds. I know the few campgrounds at the beach that allow carts are very strict about gas. Electric carts only. Yes, you can get away with it at the Fort but that might be all.

Thanks everyone. We have been watching craigslist and have seen a few. We don't know if gas is the way to go... it's definitely a consideration, but we would be limited on where we could use it. I know one of the cast members at the bike barn said they may have a rule in the future where gas carts will not be allowed. IDK if he was just yapping.... but, I do know some campgrounds do not allow them, which would defeat the purpose. I like the quietness of the non-gas carts... of course, DH wants to put one of our sportbike engines in one for fun......

Your husband would get along very well with Tungpo1!!!

This from the guy with the biggest GAS EZGO cart at the fort. But he is right. Mine was a 48 volt club car and I know BDR has one too. They are good little carts.
