In the Genie+ world, ADRs seem to be driving my strategy…

It’s interesting. We are visiting WDW Nov 9-10. With FastPasses gone, the gating factor for how we are selecting our park reservations is now based on ADRs. For example, we made our ADRs today and based on those reservations, we are now going to reserve parks, e.g. our ADR at Tiffin’s on Nov 9 is a gating factor for booking AK on Nov 9, not the converse. Having to make ADRs and FPs so far in advance greatly impacted availability for a spontaneous trip inside that window. Anyway, I found this to be unexpected and somewhat a relief. Hoping Genie+ is a success; it seems a fit for my family.

Back when we had to reserve ADRs 6 months in advance, it was always that way for us. Obviously, we didn’t have to have park reservations then, but wherever we had ADRs or Fastpasses, directed our plans for the day. That’s why I’ve been confused why so many people don’t like the park reservations. I’ve never been able to have a totally spontaneous trip. I’m too much of a planner.

I just hope that I can change park reservations to match my ADR if there is one that I can only get on a 'wrong' day. I wish I could do ADR's and park reservations at the same time.
But, not having to worry about matching FPP to reservations will be nice.

I’ve found myself looking at late afternoon ADR’s for availability and the AP hopping ability.

And I guess PPO breakfasts to get a jump on the crowds aren't a thing anymore. So, unless we really prefer breakfast (like at Aker.), we could do the same thing.
Our current plan includes a lot less eating at Disney than it originally did, so there's that.
