In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Hey Lisa, Ronda. Thanks for the comments, it's something I will probably try tomorrow. I'll let you all know how that works out for me hehe.

But claim your victory AKASnowWhite. Claim it or I will friggin' haunt you for the rest of your life. :rotfl2:

:lovestruc

I am quickly realizing that waking up ungodly early in the morning may be my best bet for exercising while in school. That will be painful I'm sure. Any other non-morning people got any advice for switching over to early mornings for workouts?

And what constitutes "ungodly" to you? My alarm goes off at 5:40 am and I'm NOT a morning person. Maybe perhaps not quite as morning-phobic as Kat is :rolleyes1 but definitely one who prefers to be left alone  I'm also a morning exerciser. Because, as Ronda points out, it's too easy to let the chaos of my day take precedence over my workout. So, I get it done, cross it off my list for the day and move on. It's a habit that may take time if you are not morning-friendly, but one worth fighting for. I have no question that I feel better & have more energy on the days that I just get up and get it done than when I don't.

Cathie - No one can or will look out for YOU like YOU. Another goddess quoted it and I will, too. When someone shows you who s/he is. Believe him/her.

WORD!

AFM, we are watching it snow. It's going to snow for another 10 hours. Some spots could get 10". That's huge for us. And paralyzing. DGF and I both got away from work a couple of hours early. Next it's going to get bitter cold. A brief word of thanks for the warmth of our home. and the garage, can't forget the garage. We are spoiled.

I'll run five miles tomorrow. I'll love it!

Ronda

Enjoy the snow! And be careful out there! We're in the lull here. Snow & crap yesterday, more coming on Friday followed by some crazy cold. Looks like I'll be TM running for the forseeable future :headache:

Well anything before 6 seems horrible to me, but I better get used to it if I plan to teach. I have to be at work at 8, so I'm thinking 5:30 would be ok for me to get up, work out, and then get ready.

Anything before 9 sounds horrible to me. I am usually at work by 9:30-10, alarm usually goes off around 9. Work is a nice easy 10 min away. :)

I am not a morning person at. all. Also, my husband works 1-9PM a lot, so if I had to get up at 5:30, I would be going to bed almost as soon as he gets home.

When I do the 10-mile long runs with my running group in the summer, we start at 6:30 or 7, but I can see the logic in this because it's *ungodly* hot here in he summer.

I try to fit my workouts in at lunch. Nice break from the office, still get it done early, and energizes my afternoon.

Speaking of work, we signed a long-term lease on a new office space today. Three times the square footage, commute will be the same for me, and... drumroll... I get an office with a door!

I am still running on all cylinders from work today. We had to determine merit increases for all of our reps. This is normally a lengthy process - today we had from 10:45 to a 4pm deadline. Not fun at all, but alcohol will be provided as a thanks.

Haven't read at all, back soon!

Ronda, are you running outside or in, And please don't send your snow my way. Were getting ready for the bitter cold!

Rob, I get up at 5, or 4:45 I don't work out at the hour all the time, some time I use it just to be in the quiet. But I like morning workouts then its done!

Amiee, enjoy the free drinks.

Cathie, I hope things with your friends get better.

Kat, Congrats on the door!!!:rotfl2:

Tonight was a core workout at run club, OMG that was hard, followed by form roller, even harder.

I am hungry, going to drink some water then bed!!
Good Night All

Worked has been horrible. It appears my last two weeks are just going to be one struggle after another. I'm on my phone because my computer is broken but hopefully I'll be back in business tomorrow.

Well that just sucks. :surfweb:

Well it's a regular hospital this week over at my parents. My father goes in for surgery tomorrow. He had day surgery to rectify a prostate issue last month - and they thoiught he might have prostate cancer then - he doesn't - but the doctor wasn't pleased - so back in he goes for a more - I don't know - intensive surgery. Two day stay. I'm smiling - my Dad's the greatest in this regard. He tells me the whole ***** story. I'm sorry if I'm grossing out anyone but I love that about him. It's the same part of him that respects woman - I know - I know no one's following me at this point. I don't how to explain that. :rotfl2: It's late.

And the poor man had my mother yelling at him today. She's mad she went down to Florida last winter - like he kidapped her :lmao: - because she's a year out for her heart surgery and they won't operate because they need to know 100% what her head issue is - and they have no answers. So CT scan today and they didn't like it - so MRI. She's frustrated. It is draining. But they're in a pickle. She needs the heart operation hand's down but they are so leery. They need to make sure it's not a tumour never found or hemorraging that they've missed somehow.

So quite the day for them.

And I MUST remind everyone here - NEVER EVER take high cholesterol and HBP lightly. They are a deadly combination. And I know that's why she is where she is. No I'm not an MD. :lmao: Or having an affair with Doctor Oz.

Oh boy.

I'm fine. Just venting.

OMG. I so forget I'm om the disboards on this thread. The blocked out word is the thing that guys have. :rotfl2:

I'm sorry Lisa!:flower3:

We are expected to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight. Looks like another snow day for the kids. I called their school to get the protocol on ditching the last day of school. Sounds like lots of parents book vacation for the first day after school is scheduled to close. We are in the clear! I've been laying it on really thick, but the kids have no idea.

Oh boy - they are going to be thrilled, eh? Stay safe. We never have snow days. Hardly ever.

It's okay Amiee. I've really come to the point where I've accepted my "new mom". There is some lovliness in it. I phoned when I got home Monday night and she says - like it's a joke "you know what happened? Elysha's dogs peed on MY duvet". :rotfl2:

No, it's not funny. At all. And my niece would be horrified. But let me tell you something about MY mom and her duvet. HER beloved duvet.

If we sat on it :rotfl2: SAT on it when we were younger - all he!! would break loose. Sat. She would SO know. So the stress level is gone for some issues.

Just like Mama - Jean's mom - when we were looking after her she let MY/OUR cat lay on her bed. And before no one would be even allowed there. He sat in her room like he was KING. And she loved it. And would have nothing of it of us trying to get him out.

And my mom is so child like in some ways. She's lucid and can do normal things still but she says to me the other night - I -----LOVE -----YOU.

So stress and tears but some lovely moments to ease all that.

Five miles. I loved it. Average pace 11:00. Wheeee! As part of the embracing of the treadmill I decided to use this period for speed... good footing and all.

Lisa - her newness gives everyone fresh starts. Your dad sounds wonderful.

Snowfall was timed perfectly. People got home, the snow stopped and the plows had all night to clean up. Most of my team is working from home today. Great benefit and I would... except I needed to get to the treadmill ; )
