In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Mom brag alert--feel absolutely free to ignore--we're just SO excited here right now:

Ok, so just back from the Middle School Winter Concert. At the concert, they announced all of the kids who made State Band (no one knew before...the results were just sent to band directors today). So they named 5 kids from our school who made it. And didn't announce Riley's name, which actually surprised me. I expected him to make it. But then they said, "And this year, we have a first. For the first time, we have a 6th grader who was ranked first in the State...Riley Small for percussion!" OMG, it was AWESOME. He is flying high! He had *no* idea. And he so needs this right now. He needed some recognition for his efforts and wow, he got it.

Ok, back to race, weight loss, yadda yadda...

Pretty much! :rotfl2: Kat can tell you about my drinking abilities.

vampires do not get hungover.

I have a bad mom story..

Scary Jo! But really - what a responsible 6 year old. She knew enough to think that the handle might be hot. And she was putting the fire out. And she screamed for help. All pretty good in my book.

drama club tonight. Oy. This is going to be an interesting production. The Music Man. 1912 Iowa. Disney-esque. 58 Cast members. :scared1:

Hi everyone!

Living the remember whens.... So many good memories...

Jo - get ready to drink up...

Meg - awesome news on the interview. Hope it all works out for you.

Cathie - no mire Googling. Leave the diagnosing the doctors. Enough said there.

Nancy - hard to believe it is costume time again

E - great news about Riley!

Ronda - look at you go! Awesome goals you have.

Kelly - enjoy the start of the series. And yes, Lisa should come out to play.

Hi to everyone else. Just caught up on four pages of posts so I am a bit behind.

Not much going on here. Work is kicking my butt and i am off to Binghamton for the weekend for training. All of this and a snow storm to boot. Yeah...

Tequila? I'm your girl. Mixed drinks? I'm in. Shots? Hells yeah, bring 'em. And beer and wine, too. But I can't physically consume the amount of beer Amy and Kat can. OMG. :rolleyes1

Its a good thing I read this after I had a few mixed drinks or else I'd be thirsty! You ladies are getting me excited to do down!

E- Congrats!!! Thats so great for Riley and for you.

Jo- I'm with Nancy, it's great that she handled a scary situation that well. And she didn't get hurt so that's great.

Hi Paula!

Just got back from hockey. (Yes I had drinks then played hockey.) I'm making some mixes for my nearly four hour ride to Vermont tomorrow!!! I can't believe the weekend is almost here! I can't believe I get to see the boy for the first time since Christmas!

E, Major Congrats to Riley!!!!

Paula, Sorry your have training over the weekend, I think its time for a vacation!!

Meg, Safe travels today and have a great time.

last night I told Alexa that I am so happy she knew how to put it out and how greatful I am that God was watching over her, but Mom will never ask her to be in the kitchen alone.

So Happy Its Friday, I have 9 miles planned this weekend, look like Sunday will be the best day with the weather.

Have a great day all.

"And this year, we have a first. For the first time, we have a 6th grader who was ranked first in the State.....

wowza! That's awesome! :thumbsup2

Paula - Binghamton? um, yay? :confused3

Meg - Vermont! YAY! :yay::laughing:

I've been tracking all week, no alcohol, increased water- but I feel....stuck. Now that I have a few good days of healthy eating under my belt I think I need to tighten up the diet just a bit. I really want to shed this excess now!

Nancy--that is exactly how I feel! Like, ok, running is back on track but that isn't going to eliminate the bulk by itself. Have to now actively work on food.

Jo - Scary, but +1 on Alexa's reaction.

Meg - enjoy!

E - very cool. Kids, when they bang on pots and pans, encourage them.

I've got 10 miles planned for tomorrow morning. Feeling good about my running right now. I have been having headaches after runs for a few months. Last week I had a tooth bothering me. After a couple x-rays the dentist suggested the tooth was fine and that I had a sinus infection. I feel fine, but there were shadows of goo in the sinus above the angry tooth. How it could connect to running, I'm not sure. I broke out the neti pot. I have been fiddling with hydration since August and it could just be my nose. It feels like living in an experiment, but the test opportunities are only three times a week ; )

I need to get on the tracking wagon. Really.

Later,
Ronda

Ronda is the nedi pot helping?

I have been very good with the diet this week, NO POP, NO TREATS!!
Salad and Chicken
Now I have had crap workouts, its aways one or the other.

Right. I've stopped the bleeding, but haven't started the actual "loss" part yet. I had a great workout this morning, and tomorrow I have another session w/Erin for upper body strength as well as a short/mid distance run (4 miles I think?) so hopefully I'll see my body begin to react soon.

huh. That doesn't sound like much fun Ronda. I hope you get it figured out!

It's supposed to snow here today. It hasn't started yet, but they've opted to send the kids home from school early "just to be safe". It's New England people. We get snow here in the winter. Whatever.

Ugh. Going to bed before 11 after a not so great day...

:flower3: Oh dear. I hope tomorrow is better

I'm headed to bed too! I went to a Pampered Chef "cupcakes and cocktails" party tonight. I don't think I need to say that I didn't exactly stick to my calorie budget today. Only one of each though (one cocktail, one cupcake I mean) so not a major bust.

I'm supposed to have a session with Erin in the morning, but it's snowing pretty heavily and I don't know when it's supposed to stop - I may have to postpone depending upon snowfall, plowing, etc. Guess I won't know until the morning though!

Have a good night all!

Hi

First off I'm loving the reminiscing. Well I'm envious. No probably worse - I'm jealous as he!! of all your wonderful memories. :rotfl2: I know. I know. Things I shouldn't share. Nonetheless it's all bringing a smile to my face.

Anyway, I'm reading. :surfweb:

Megan - the hair turned out fantastic. Hair always kills me because I never noticed your lips before. Wow that sounds liike such a come on. What I mean it never ceases to amaze me how different styles/colours can change features/highlight features. I bet your hair grows like a weed.

Ronda - ouch. Any ideas on the headaches at all. Hope you get to the bottom of that.

Amiee - where for art thou?

Cathie - how is your business going? I can hear how frustrating everything is. I'm sorry.

Nancy - thank you for your shout outs to me. I was thinking today about your back on track and not on the loss yet. We totally disrespect that part, eh? It's a great feeling, isn't it?

Kat - Kat you KNOW you made me smile with your NY's thoughts. YOU KNOW.

Jo - I can't wait for you to race the Princess. It's making me smile.

Liz - ditto with Kat's. I told Jean about your treat thoughts. She loved them.

Paula - so lovely to see the loss, eh? Lovely.

Erika - Riley's time in the spotlight. What a lovely surprise.

Amy! Amy! Amy! I NEED PICTURES. I SO need pictures.

Me - I just got back. Was in WDW/NYC (let me start :rotfl2: and quiet any NYC comments with two times I asked who was coming on this thread - and once on facebook - and nada - I only have SO MUCH vulnerability you know! ;))

I've had a horrid two days. Lost someone. Same one that I saved the friendhship last year. DEVASTATED. But want to ignore and just pretend it's all not happening. I have zero emotional space right now.

Good news. I'm going to be a great aunt. and :scared1:. I'm already on Jean's side. But now mine and it isn't even my eldest niece. It's Elysha who got married a year and half ago.

Okay - enjoying you all.

Mother Country Kelly!

How could I forget you???????

HOW.
'
Especially since you're running. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's everyone now, eh? Running I mean. I'm so out of it. NEVER will be happening. :surfweb:

So I'm reading. And if you want to keep me company.

I have a trip report here.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2626545

Yes I'm trying to make sure you see it with pretty pretty colours!!!!

If you do pop over. PLEASE for the love of God - skip page two. I put drama all over my own TR. I started the TR. And within half a day I was suddenly suffering emotionally from my friend situation - wanted to close it - felt like crap closing it - and then talked myself into taking a small break to pull myself together - talked to myself - BUT ON THE THREAD. :rotfl2: So skip that one! Drama alert.

Kat - Kat you KNOW you made me smile with your NY's thoughts. YOU KNOW.

I know. :)

So sorry on the loss.

So happy to see you here!! I am nowhere near NY. My wish is that someday our paths cross close enough.

I know that Kat. I'm preparing for Nancy's yelling in the morning. :rotfl2::lovestruc And I didn't want her to freak out right on my trip report when it kicked in that "oh no" she missed me again. Laughing. Loudly.

Of course our paths will cross. Of course they will. I will not go without seeing YOU ever Kat.

Love to you.

Oh and one more thing I forgot. I was totally offline on the WDW part of vacation. So sorry for not being able to send birthday wishes.

So Happy Belated to you! Hope it was a fabulous birthday Kat.

Tell me how the recovery is going. Your injury I mean. Not your birthday.

It's so good to hear from you Lisa. I'm so, so very sorry for your loss. How's the weather up there in the North Country? :confused3 Have you been getting slammed with snow? We've had some wonky storms here and mostly where I am has been spared, but last night we did get probably 5-6" again finally.
