In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Oh, Paula -:hug: That is so tough. Good that you can be there for him. Hug your folks tight.

Nancy - That is a tough break up. Good for you and glad you had a pleasant holiday. The house across the street sounds wonderful. I'd love to do a gut/remodel.

We bid farewell to our houseguests yesterday morning. Things went great. We'll do that again. DGF and I shopped for a new TV yesterday - Merry Christmas to us! Found a Sony at Costco. All hooked up and the HD signal is too weak. But it looks great in the living room! The cable guy will be out Wednesday to make it better.

We ran this morning. I did errands and Sue is doing accounting homework. Mount Laundry is shrinking. It's just a normal weekend.

I just came back from visiting a friend who is deep in family holiday drama. Liquor makes it so much more exciting!

But wait, I forgot something big... brother and I are taking his kids to WDW in March. Their school break is the week of March 20. We're planning to rent DVC points for a 2 BR at OKW. BWV is unavailable, that was my first choice. We held a planning committee meeting this week ; )

I've never been during peak season and will welcome advice from anyone who's done it. FP and ADRs. What else?

Ronda

I feel like I've been completely MIA for the last week or so. Time to get my backside in gear!

I'm currently awaiting a phone call. The daughter of our long-time friends down the street lives in Vermont - the very next town over from Norwich University. She's headed home today after visiting her parents for Thanksgiving, and if she has enough space in her car for all of their *luggage* she'll take the 3 cadets with her so I don't have to spend 7 hours driving today. <crosses fingers>

E - hope you had a FABULOUS Birthday yesterday :goodvibes. As always, I'm in awe of the fact that you are d.o.n.e. with your Christmas shopping. I don't even have a complete list of names yet :headache: (yeah, my family. gotta love 'em :rolleyes1)

Paula - I'm so sorry to hear about Tom's mother. You certainly have had more than your share of heartbreak this year. My wish for you is a deleriously happy 2011. You certainly deserve it.

Ronda - LOVE the "planning committee"

Liz - it's so nice to have you back here! now, if we could only get Lisa to chime in a little more ;)

Kat, EE, Kelly, Meg, Jo, Cathie - hope you all are enjoying what's left of the long holiday weekend.

wow. really? :confused3 Is everyone busy with Cyber-Monday shopping?

I wish. I am now just waking up. I got the 'lucky' call at midnight and had to go into work. Got home at 7:30 this morning to finally sleep after having been up for 22 hours. Now I am up and getting ready for a meeting at 2:00. And yes, i am going to the gym tonight. Whee... No JC tonight though since I was just there on Friday.

Off to start my day. :)

Wow Paula long day already and its just after noon here.
Ur a goddess for sure.

No cyber Monday for me I am at work
my last run was turkey day I need to step it up. We r now less than 3 months
Away.

So i am freaking out..all the kids that my kids have seen this weekend
Have the flu, mine do not YET:scared1:

Hey ladies,

I'm just trying to stay afloat. Crazy weekend and horrible day at work. I'll try to come back later.

No cyber Monday here. It's nice to be back to just a Monday. I was all suited up to ride my bike to work and then saw the forecast. Back up the stairs.

Tomorrow morning's wind chill of 13 degrees will drive me inside. That's my limit!

Nancy - were you spared the roadtrip?

Ronda

No internet and no heat at work...but we are always prepared! We have space heaters in every room! I was super cozy.

WW changed totally today and I am scrambling to revamp my recipes in the eTools, and letting Emily watch an AWFUL kids movie. Golden Retrievers. Kids and dogs search for gold! Make friends! Bond! It's a low rent Buddies movie. (Buddies being the Walt version).

So that's where I have been...huddled up to the space heater and Internet-less. I said on FB that I felt like Bob Cratchit! I will catch up tonight (between dinner, freaking out over WW, and cleaning my sty, I mean house) and reply!

OOOOH Challenge check in! How did we all do? Me, I lost .5lbs after eating my heart out for my Dad's birthday. I call it a victory. This week, my goals are:

Lose 9.5 lbs by Christmas
Track 5/7 days
Stay withing Points range
Exercise some

Be back soon! Check in with your weekly results!!! Or face the banana of death! :rotfl:

Check in.

Remember what you said about alcohol? :rotfl:

Seriously, is that Easter week? Is everyone off that week? I went once at the beginning of Easter week. I swear I scowled at people and I think I was moaning so loudly about the crowds that a random guy told me his survival strategies and how if I'd just suck it up I'd be okay. For reals.

Girls, do you remember that? I was with my mom and she was on chemo...oh, like THAT narrows it down! Hmm. Emily and me and my dad and Nick...I'll check my WDW chart and figure out exactly when I was there. Basically, park touring. The plans are essential.

Check in.

That's great on the running! And some tracking is better than none, right? :thumbsup2

I did bad very bad, no tracking, drank pop and no long run.
Not good:sad2:

It's a new week! Wipe that slate clean! Turn that frown upside down! Save me from my own perkiness! :rotfl:

I made a turkey chili for dinner that tastes just like Wendy's, which is awesome because I LOVE Wendy's chili!

YES! March 2008. We stayed at POP. Loved it. We backed right up into Easter week. Then we went to The Villages, America's Friendliest Neighborhood, where my parents were renting a place. Ah, yes. I was with the thread and I am sure there is a TR from that trip!

No, Easter is late this year... there was a when's-your-spring-break thread on the theme parks board. Our week was 25% with nearly 50% at Easter.

I will sprint ahead for FPs. They are big enough to ride everything. They don't really like character greetings (they are referred to as "puffy heads" in their house). I hope to lead by example on this point. My newphew likes Club Penguin. Spring training will be underway, too. I want to to a Kim Possible mission thing at Epcot.

I'm getting the planning DVD and will leave it with them at Christmas. Wheee!

Ronda

Well, huge relief there!

And yes, you can be the FP sprinter. Erika does that for me in the parks. Oh how I wish I was joking, but nope. She does. ;)

Use touring plans, get ADRs, don't expect to walk on and you'll be fine.

I love WDW trips!!!!!

I changed my avatar!!!!

Now, this might not be so exciting to you unless you know that Amy has to come in and add all the stuff down below for me...my signature? And that Erika is on call for the board help, too. Kat, she just shakes her head at me. But look, girls, I did it on my own!!

Woot!

Oh, yes, it's the little things....

Nancy - were you spared the roadtrip?

Sadly, no. 3 college kids each with 10 days worth of gear was just too much to add to her little car. It's really a very easy drive, so while it takes up a huge chunk of time, it's not bad at all.

No internet and no heat at work...but we are always prepared!

what on earth happened that you lost internet & heat?

Be back soon! Check in with your weekly results!!! Or face the banana of death! :rotfl:

Hmpf. I think I failed. I even had the very loose goal of "eating mindfully". My lack of effort was appalling. I'm going to log todays food on sparkpeople immediately.

I made a turkey chili for dinner that tastes just like Wendy's, which is awesome because I LOVE Wendy's chili!

I adore chili. We're having it tomorrow night. I already have my beans soaking!:thumbsup2

I changed my avatar!!!!

I, for one, am TOTALLY impressed

ok. going to sparkpeople right this very second.

just entered my food on sparkpeople. I'm over budget. By about 30%. Not such a great showing today, eh? Well, at least I tracked it. <sigh>

and I did have an awesome workout this morning. Sadly, I managed to negate all that calorie burn:sad2:

*trudges in with head down*

No tracking here. Eating like it's my job. This week is a 3 day trip to Baltimore, next week is a 4 day trip to Pittsburgh, and I am still hobbling around on a darn walking cast.

Bleah.
