In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

yeah, the whole new-car-thing is exactly NOT what I want to be doing right now. I so do not have the time for this! Insanely busy at work, and we are away again this weekend- this time to Vermont for Parent's weekend :thumbsup2

oh. and whilst I'm not *sick*, I'm not *right* either. ( stop laughing. I know how bad that sounds)

Two words best describe my week so far - stomach bug!

Finally getting over it now. Yuck is all I can say to that.

How is everyone else doing?

Ugh! Stomach bugs are no fun at all Paula!

Me - crazed. Work, catching up on laundry, etc, car shopping, insurance negotiating, heading to Vermont for parent's weekend tomorrow, so I'll be off-line again this weekend. I have a bit of a cold (head/chest congestion) that has impacted my sleep and workouts. My food has been good, although I haven't tracked this week. I'm a-ok with that though. Once I get back on Monday life will hopefully settle down to a more managable pace.

And yes - I know I owe you a weekend TR from last weekend. I haven't forgotten.

HI all
Paula, Nancy, sorry your sick

Just a quick pop in for me. LONGGGGG Day
at work by 7 the back to get the girls then back out again to go a wake
(dh's brothers mother in law)
I feel like a walking zombie.

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!

Short week? I don't get it. :confused3

I won an all-expense paid trip to San Antonio today. Well, not really. I got word just before noon today, to book a 2:50PM flight here. Ran home, did laundry, packed, and got to the airport just past 2. Whee. Thank goodness RDU rarely has a security line.

I might get to come home on Tuesday. Might.

This traveling thing is getting old.

some prize you got there Kat :headache: I hope you get at least a little time to enjoy the city. How's kitty doing these days?:cat:

I'm so congested it's horrid. I slept like crap last night. I'm opting to skip the workout this morning. It's just not going to be productive. We're headed to Vermont by lunch time for the weekend :woohoo:

Have a super weekend everyone. I'll be back with a vengance on Monday. (or Tuesday. I think I'm picking up my new car on Monday after work...)

I always forget that this isn't as big else where as it is here. Columbus Day was Monday so schools and lots of offices had the day off.

Sounds like we're all a bit crazy. Due to being short staffed I'm working alone today with four one year olds. Two of which are completely dependent on me for everything and have been crying almost round the clock. They are asleep right now and I'm fighting the urge to go on a food/crying bender.

Paula- Glad you're getting over the stomach bug. Of all the illnesses I pick up here at work, the stomach bug is definitely the worst.

Nancy- Enjoy parents weekend!

Jo- Hope you get some rest in this weekend.

Kat- I don't know how you do it. If I got a call like that I'd probably pull my hair out. Hope the trip isn't too bad for you though.

Almost the weekend everyone!

Yeah, no Columbus Day off here, unfortunately.

4 one-yr olds, ick.

I wasn't terribly happy, but work is work. One of the downsides to any kind of software development is the on-call work, especially if you are responsible for the product. With resposibility comes salary and other perks, but it has its downside too.

Weekend? Again, what's that? I get to work straight through. Whee.

Eeeek it is super quiet around here. I've been so busy and sick all at once, I've just not been myself. I actually would have sworn I posted here yesterday but obviously didn't.

How was everyone's weekends?

Happy Monday All!!!

Meg, sorry your sick. hope you kick it fast!

Nancy, are we ever going to get that weekend report. Just Saying :lmao:

Kat, Hope you are headed home from TX soon!!

Lisa, E, Kelly, Ronda Hope you all are well!

As for me. In laws have been here all weekend, they came in for the funeral for DH's brothers, wife's, mother.

Saturday I did work out for the cure, hour speed training with run club then an hour strength class. Needless to say yesterday was rest day

Good morning! Time to start a new week. Here's hoping it is a good one for us all.

I enjoyed a weekend where I could sleep in for the first time since June! It was pure heaven...

WORD!

I enjoyed a weekend where I could sleep in for the first time since June! It was pure heaven...

that must have been so awesome Paula!:cloud9:

I've had this stupid head cold all week. I spent Parent's weekend sneezing and sniffling. I swear people must have thought I was crying all the time:laughing: I think it's finally starting to release it's hold on me. I think I'll do a light workout of some kind (the first since Thursday) and today, most definitely, my food will be logged. I truly enjoyed myself these past 2 weekends, but now it's time to get myself back on track. I really want to enter the holiday season on the top of my game this year!

OH! And I discovered a new love in my life. ChocoVine. OMG. It's chocolate red wine. It's kind of Bailey's-ish, but with cabernet & chocolate cream. pure bliss.:lovestruc

Omg chocolate wine

When I weigh in this week and I have gained weight will someone please remind me that I got what I deserved for eating my emotions?

Once again due to our center being short staffed I have been left alone with 4 one year olds. Including a child who is supposed to be shadowed all day and a new child who screams hysterically all day.

Oh and an extra teacher showed up about 15 minutes ago and she was sent to be an EXTRA hand in the baby room instead of giving me any sort of break.

It took all my will power not to give my two weeks notice this morning. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

UGH

Omg chocolate wine

yeah. I know. It is, in a word, ah-MAZING!

I think it's time to stand firm, Meg. That is not acceptable. And I'm sure the parents of said children would agree.

Leaving soon to pick up my new car. Excited and nervous. Gads. I so hate major purchases. I have anxiety over a $30 pair of jeans. But a new car? :scared1: Jo, please pass me the chocolate wine. I think I need to calm my nerves just a bit

Nancy, what kind of car?
I am still sick over our new van. I love it, but I don't love the payment.
6 years worth of payment.

yep. Car payments suck.

Since my kids are older and moving on (wah :sad1:) I've down-sized from my van (had a Ford Windstar which I adored!) to a Honda CRV.

Unfortunately every time I say something to my boss or the owner about this it just falls on deaf ears. They rely on us to make sure parents are ok with it. I've said it in the past, every job has it's down side but it seems like it's coming to the point where I just don't agree with how the company operates.

What kind of car did you get?

I'd been thinking about looking for a new car in the next year but listening to you guys talk about car payments makes me think I should hold off a bit longer.
