In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Not much to report on for me. I am functoning off of 2-1/2 hours of sleep and am about to head for my beating from Jesse. It should be interesting. My new bike is not in yet (insert pouty face here) and I so want this week to be over.

Oh bother - it could be worse.

Off to get my sweat on. I'll check in later.

Slacker girl over here reporting a 2nd unscheduled rest day. Maybe I will get my behind in gear and make it over to an xtraining day after all...

As promised, here is a no holds barred tech shirt/bike shorts progress pic. I must love you all to post something like this on the 'net. (Lisa, looking right at you. :goodvibes)

bah. We want you to have your new bike too! :goodvibes

Oh bother - it could be worse.

Yes it can. Say it with me everyone "at least you have legs" :lmao:

Off to get my sweat on.

 "Get your sweat on". Love that.

Kat!!!! You look fabulous :woohoo:

hold your breath and cross your fingers. It's 9:30pm and I haven't broken anything today.

Kat OMG, I wish I looked as good as you. All your hard work is paying off big time.

And for the rest day, Umm don't you have 14 miles on Saturday, so if you need an extra rest day, I think its OK!!!!

Nancy, I must have missed what you broke????

Super busy day, lots of work to do ,then took the girls swimming at a friends.

The new swim suit I got from Kohls is to tight. just call me fatty mcbutter pants. Thats what I get, work out once a week, drink pop, cake and there ya have it.

Whats done is done, now its time to undo it!

*blush*. Thanks guys!! I still feel like I have a long way to go.

Paula, you inspired me to go to the gym after all. Just 30 min on the elliptical, but at least it's something.

Food for today:
B: coffee
L: Turkey wrap (110), salad (50), strawberries (40)
S: 1 cup Kashi Go Lean (140), almond milk (5)
S: Special K Dark Chocolate Raspberry Bliss bar (90), 4 slices pickled beets (15)
D: Fajitas: 3 oz shrimp (80), 4oz steak strips (140), onion/mushroom/pepper strips (20), 2 whole wheat locarb tortillas (140), 1 serving ff refried beans (110), rf cheese/greek yogurt for toppings (30)

Total, 970
Water, 64 oz
Exercise, 30 min on the elliptical, 60 crunches on ball

Work has just been so long and horrible this week. I don't know how many more days I can take feeling the way I do. It has me super stressed and I'm always super tired. I can barely hold my eyes open right now, this needs to change.

Kat- You look amazing, just so, so good. Your work is definitely paying off.

Hmm I think this is day three or four of no ice cream for me, baby steps to loosing weight again.

Off to sleep before I fall asleep with my head on my computer. Hope you're all doing well, I'll catch up tomorrow.

just call me fatty mcbutter pants.

:rotfl2: Fatty mcbutter pants? :rotfl2:

Jo, I've broken so many things in the past week or so that my family has pretty much requested that I simply sit quietly in the corner and not touch anything :rolleyes1

Paula, you inspired me to go to the gym after all. Just 30 min on the elliptical, but at least it's something.

30 minutes on the elliptical is an excellent x-training session IMO.

S: Special K Dark Chocolate Raspberry Bliss bar (90), 4 slices pickled beets (15)

 Please tell me that these were consumed separately and not at the same time

Nancy, thanks for the xtraining validation! I am always struggling to find something that counts.

Yes, the pickled beets were eaten separately. Actually, the bar was eaten before the gym and the beets after, while I was waiting for dinner to cook, but I was too lazy to make them separate snacks!

Jo, I enjoyed the fatty mcbutter pants comment too! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Meg, sorry work sucks. :(

Paula, hope the workout went well!!

[
You know what I just did. :rotfl2: I just multi-quoted like crazy
and sat and looked at the screen for about five mesmirizing minutes and said, "no I can't DO IT - I can't do it - I'm too tired!!!" . Bloody Mad Men. I love it so much that's why it's almost three o'clock in the effn' morning.

So here's what I had in my head:

Nancy! I was so kidding about Intercourse, PA. I have never eaten at an Amish restaurant. I just wanted to type Intercourse, PA. :rotfl2:

And Nancy I ADORED your description of your pissy day. I know - not too comforting.

Floating in the pool on a hot day - HEAVEN! And then maybe Erika can whiz by and pick up us in her boat. God I sound like I'm on crack. popcorn::

Paula! Megan! - where the he!! are all these dates coming from you fabulous two? I've been single for sh!t four years and not even a bite. NO dates and you two are rating and ranking them. ;);):lovestruc HELLO! And Megan - I'm old and single - do not use such blasphemous words like "I won't bore you all with ....." or whatever you said. We LOVE that kind of stuff. Please entertain me.

Almond milk - have had it for years. I have no idea why I'm sharing that fact.

OMG. I had so much to say. Where is my memory.

Oh Kelly - Kelly :confused3- I forget. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Please do tell me to "piss off".

I had so much to say........imagine me nodding off.........

Oh one of my friends is coming soon with her kids to stay and it made me go "WT H?" - where is time going? She's my good friend where her lovely husband left just after she gave birth. Remember? It seems like yesterday I typed my shock on here and the BABY - the BABY is two this weekend.

TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did two years go by? How? Huh?

You look fantastic Kat! :thumbsup2. Unbelievable. You should do a side by side. Your legs look great - what were you talking about regarding your thighs? :confused3

Oh yeah - Kelly - Kat has an XXL North Carolina blue Goddess shirt - I win! Look at your picture missy. It would be a dress on you. Actually I won at birth - I was just under ten pounds.

Lisa, you were looking for another race report? Why yes I was. This has given me a second wind. Well there's no time like the present. Mais oui.

So two weeks ago I finish my half and I decide to pick out my next race. How scary for a non-runner to hear. :rotfl2:What should fall into my lap but an email about a race in Kennebunk, LOVE me a trip to Coastal Maine. (Vacationland for those of you who don't know.) And Bush country. The human kind I mean.

I woke up at 5:40 so we could hit the road by 6:30 to give me enough time. I knew we wouldn't hit traffic but I didn't want to cut it too close. I think including a stop for gas it took us about an hour and a half to get to the race. We got there in plenty of time to watch the kid's race which was adorable! There were some little guys that were so cute. And a girl won the whole race, you go girl! Nice.

Ten minutes till race time and... oh wait I of course have to go the bathroom. Then with that out of the way I make my way to the start area and I'm taking in all the conversations around me. Well don't I notice this person NOT WEARING HER WISH SHIRT who I know! I was so glad I spotted Erika before the race and we were immediately hugging. Same size? :rotfl: I'm afraid my hug might smother the pipsqueak one day. I of course already thought she was great but from moment one today I just adored her. Oh Lord it's a lovefest.;)

So then it was time to start the race. I did not wear a watch, I think (unless I missed something) there was only mile marker so I had no idea how I was doing for time. But after doing a half just recently it was nice to run this one and just enjoy the sites.Wait until you do the Disney one. It took me WEEKS to figure out what the he!! Amy was doing with every Disney character that ever existed. I was SO CONFUSED. :rotfl2: I adore running by the ocean, adore it. God you're killing me. O -CEAN - said like the Cookie Monster. I ran I'd say for a half a mile with a kid who was about 8 when they had us crossing a lot of streets with traffic. He looked so nervous and I felt bad for him so I kept having him cross the streets with me. (haha maybe its the teacher coming out in me) That's so cute.

I'm coming near the end and I see this bright shirt run out along side of me, Erika is there! She ran with me but then dropped the shirt and I kept running. (As she told me too! I didn't just leave her behind.) I have to say I felt really good running in that last little bit.

So Erika met me as I came across the finish. Yeah I introduced her to my mom and my sister. My mom thought Erika is great. (Which she is.) We chatted for awhile before my mom, sister and I decided to head off to get some food and to do a little shopping. (Which we did both. Thought I won't lie the shopping was appealing to me more then the food!) We hung out for awhile and poked around all the stores before we headed home to help out with some work my dad, uncle, brother and cousin are doing on our house. (Maybe that's why we shopped for awhile, delay the time we had to spend working with the boys. haha)

And yes, Erika did in fact give me a goddess shirt which I LOVE! I can not say how caught off guard I was by this and how much it really truly meant to me. I have to say though, we got in the car and my mom was like, that was so nice of her to give you that shirt. Lisa is still bitter and jealous!! Maybe I should start calling her "E" or something. Just joking Megan. Really. Truly. That IS LOVELY. And touching. And it looks great on you. She really did think it was great. (haha and Erika did a much better job of explaining how the Wish thing works. My mom thinks its great but she just doesn't completely get the idea. I do love my mom so much!) So cute.

So another wonderful day.Your smile with Erika said it all. My mom took pictures and I will share them here as soon as she gets them to me!
Yes! We would love to see pics Megan.

Gosh must have been such a lovely run.

Grrrrrrr. :rotfl:

Lisa - Smothering Erika with a hug - I would be the same! I think I would tower over her like a freaky giant :rotfl:

Well, its the Wedding Rehersal tonight :confused3
I know that you guys have wedding rehersals, but over here they are pretty much unheard of! We have to meet at the church at 6.45pm and I assume practise walking down the aisle and sitting down

Im walking down the aisle with my niece so I have to try and control her and stop her running and screaming 'Daddy Daddy, Nanny Nanny, Grandad Grandad' when she sees them in the church - yes Kelly, good luck with that! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a great day! :cool2:

Nancy! I was so kidding about Intercourse, PA. I have never eaten at an Amish restaurant. I just wanted to type Intercourse, PA. :rotfl2:

Yep. That's about it. Making sure everyone knows where to go, and when to go there. Then dinner. That's pretty much how it works in these parts.

Our truck had to go in for service today - usual oil & filter change (no, I didn't BREAK anything this time ;)). So Stephens bright idea was for us to drive out to the dealership, drop the truck off and ride our bikes home. Sounds nice right? ack. wrong. It's 16 miles away, which for us is a short bike ride. but the hills. O.M.G. the freakin' hills. It was beyond brutal. I went onto "map my ride" and got the elevation map. yeah. 1000' of elevation increase up.the.god.damn.hills. At one point he asked me how fast we were going (as I was about to DIE on the biggest, steepest hill of all) and I grunted. He asked me TWO MORE TIMES. before I could finally gasp enough breath to hiss "JUST SHUT IT"

and in case you're curious, the answer is NO. There is no way in hell I'm riding back out there to pick the truck up this afternoon when it's done.

all I can say is OMG. A race that involves Ghirardelli chocolate? For real? that one may be worth travelling for

as for training - I know Kat is part of a Jeff Galloway group, and you can check his website for training programs (jeffgalloway.com)- but I also personally really like Hal Higdon's training plans. Here's a link to his 10 week novice 15K training plan http://www.halhigdon.com/15Ktraining/15Knovsch.htm totally do-able for you.

Hi all--the wake was last night and funeral today. I'll be back around tomorrow.

Hi everybody! At the zoo having a ball. Kat - your pic rocks!
