In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

It is 7:30. I'm at the tourney. 75% humidity and it is 80 already. It bites. Thunderstorms on the way.

All this talk about Kobe makes me think about Reggie Miller. Still love him. Oh and did I ever share that I met Larry Byrd? Class act. He was still playing for the Celtics. :wizard:

Just here to gripe about the weather. Left the house at 6:00 a.m. for a six mile run. It was 77*. Humidity is awful. What kind of coffee shop isn't open by 6:30!? I was low on water and they are my usual stop. Found a couple of city fountains. Very glad to get back home. But, got my run in.

DGF and I fly later today. Going to Fort Pierce (south of VB) for some treasure hunting and beaching. Storms are approaching here, too. Hurry and go by. I need to make a connection in Charlotte.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I'll try to get some pics up.

Ronda

Coffee shops should be required to open by 6am, lol. Love Ft. Pierce. Lots of shells on the beach, but I just adore the Atlantic side. Amelia Island is my favorite though. Have fun!

someone is going to get hurt. I am so not kidding.

World Cup Soccer. Korea vs Greece. The horns/noisemaker thingies that are bieng used by the friggin' crowd sound like an enormous mosquito. It.is.driving.me.insane. :crazy2:

I can feel an unfortunate loss of cable service in my near future :rolleyes1

Need some wire cutters Nancy?

Tried to TM jog, but I'm still a little still. Walking is fine. I wish I had a pool that I could jog in.

Apparently those noise makers are banned in a number of European stadiums. (according to our resident expert ).

Making cakes. yum. and yikes. Tomorrow is Seth's birthday, so it's kind of obligiatory yah know?

I'm loving the expert opinions. What kind of cake Nancy? I have no appetite, so I'm living vicariously.

Velvet Elvis.

2 layers of banana cake, 2 layers of dark chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream frosting & peanutbutter cream cheese frosting.

We affectionately call it "gluttony by the fork full".

Please don't ask for the recipe - it's one I honestly cannot share. Trade secrets and all :rolleyes1

Running in high humidity KILLS me. The older I get, the more severely my body reacts to humidity. I retain water like nobodies business. I drink, and drink to try to flush my system and it all stays with me :headache:

Have a great trip Ronda! Hope the weather holds out and your travels are uneventful!

OMG it's chunky monkey cake! I can come up with something similar (when it's freezing outside). I know it won't be exactly the same, but it totally respect trade secrets. I'm bound by secrecy for two recipes (grandma will come back to haunt me on a couple).

Umps are changing rules as they go. I will be so glad when we are out of this league.

Hi everyone!

Just a quick fly-by to say 1.5 hours till kick off! :cool1:

Nancy - The horns are SO annoying! They sound like a swarm of wasps! They are banned in most stadiums over here, along with flags that are on flag poles! Also, some stadiums ban the England Band from going in with their instruments (A drum and some trumpets I think! :lmao:)

So excited for kick off!

Hope everyone has a great day :upsidedow

Come join me for a run in NC. It was only about 82 when I pulled into the parking lot at 6:45AM, and at least the humidity was better this week than last week (65% today vs. like 85% last week). High today is 94, 96 by Monday.

We were supposed to do 5 miles but it was more like 6. Shady greenway, at least.

I hung out for a while after and got to know a few more of the group, which was nice. However, a 13-pacer friend, and the 13-pace group leader, talked me into trying the 12-pace group next week.

Then, I am just crazy enough, that I went and did Pilates.

Home now, showered, and getting ready to eat lunch. :)

Getting really excited for this game. Have I mentioned I adore soccer? Played most of my life.

Go USA!

Sorry Kelly, hoping our boys pull off an upset here.

Meg I would expect nothing less! You have to support your country!

Well, the game did not finish as I hoped - bad howler from our goalkeeper, but I really enjoyed the game!

Can't wait till Friday for the next England game - theres only about 9 games inbetween to keep me occupied!

I think I might do swimming as x training this week? Anyone have good goggle recommendations? Mine suck.

Pedi, just sayin.

Awesome.

Ok so I am a huge loser. Sorry! I know. I am supposed to be in charge of the challenge and I haven't posted in three days! At the lake house tonight and will be back home Sunday night for a proper post. Keep working on those goals!!

Goals? What are those?

Yup, it has been that kind of week where I haven't really been eating my JC food. All sorts of different reasons why (schedule, lack of interest, etc). It is a new day so I will focus on mindful eating today since I am heading to our church's lady parish function before we close in a few weeks. It is a BBQ so I will have to be on my A game.

Exercise is good though. I spent an hour with Jesse yesterday lifting weights and then had my first training session with TNT. We were on spin bikes going over the basics of form and such but it was a great way to learn how to get the most out of my spin session for my training.

I am reading everyone's posts. Living the hair coloring conversation. Mine gets colored again next week and boy do my roots need it. Good thing the curls help hide the evidence.

Make it a good day everyone!
