In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

OMG the humidity here is beyond stifling. Just back from our ride. I jumped in the pool to cool off and am now enjoying a post ride snack/early lunch.:goodvibes

Walked into work today to my very own bottle of Patron Tequila from two of my coworkers :yay:

I want to work with people like that

Nancy, Great job on getting your ride in. Hope you get more rain to cool it off.

Yes I got Patron and a Hershey Bar!!!

Yesterday I bought my first pair of good walking shoes. I also got the socks with the wicking so my feet will feel good. :o) I walked 3 miles today to test them and all is good. Yeah!

Good to hear! You might want to buy a tube of body glide too. It really does help with rub spots.

I finally interviewed a great candidate. He was intimidated at first by both of us, but really came around. He's a kid out of the military too. I hope he doesn't find another job before our class starts.

Where do you get body glide?

Hi Everyone!

Speaking of which where oh where is withering away Kally?;) And Megan! And of course the woman with two husbands in the summer :rotfl2: :lovestruc

:lmao:

HI! OMG. Where do I begin....

Wow! You ARE busy!
 for Cammie and Rileys friends. Cancer really does suck.
Nice to see you around!

Hello ladies.

I just wanted to pop in and say hello. Sorry I haven't been around, work had me so stressed and then I was away in the woods so that sort of explains my lack of posting.

I have a lot to catch up on here so I will be back after work when I can see what you have all been up to!

Hi Meg! :flower3:

One interviewee is a no show. Too bad for them that I have a memory like a steel trap.

:rotfl2: Too funny! Im the same though, I mean at least have the courtesy to call.

Time for a shower then it's off to do some back to school shopping with Seth who leaves a week from tomorrow :sad1:

I almost forgot.....

Kelly, Patrick Dempsey was about 20 min. away from my house this weekend.
Some fancy car race. They showed him on the news he said he was having a blast. My teen age sitter worked that race but she did not see him.
:

Wait. WHAT? McDreamy was 20 minutes from your house? MCDREAMY!! Sorry, I passed out a little then :lmao:
I would LOVE McDreamy to be that close to my house!

No pain. Just itch like crazy! Going to run at dusk tonight.

:thumbsup2 Awesome on the no pain!

I have a memory like a steel trap, and a BIG mouth. Plus, I know a LOT of people in my industry in my area, and I am not shy about blacklisting you with everyone I know. ;)

Yep. I would do exactly the same.

Thanks for all the well wishes about my cousin. It is so hard watching someone go through this. My mom is not dealing with this well at all so I am worried not only about my cousin and his immediate family, but I am trying to help my mom cope as well. I suspect there will be a few more trips to CT before this is done though.

Everyone - Hi :flower3:

Still tracking, still drinking water, still exercising - just still going! Hopefully there'll be results again at weigh in!

Hope everyone is having a great day :upsidedow

The run club was great, we just did the treadmill to find pace and then strech with Sergio, he has done 17 full marathons. Nice Guy, but when he counts 10 seconds its more like 40 while your streching.
I LOVED Every min. of it.!!!

...

Kat, how are you holding up?? Escape for the hospital yet, sending hope to you that you get some down time.

Walked into work today to my very own bottle of Patron Tequila from two of my coworkers :yay:

I am SOOO glad you liked it!! Yay!! :yay: I have found mine to be just plain awesome. It's so nice to have a group of people to do your runs with, share tips and complaints and such. I feel like I natter on and on about running and with that group, that it never gets old, if that makes sense?

I need your coworkers too!!

I have a bit of down time right now, actually. We broke for the day at 3:30, as we only have about a half-3/4 of a day left and decided not to kill ourselves to finish today. We get a few hours to veg out, then may hit the Riverwalk tonight. Tomorrow we finish up and then fly out on Sat.

I finally interviewed a great candidate. He was intimidated at first by both of us, but really came around. He's a kid out of the military too. I hope he doesn't find another job before our class starts.

yeah. Some of those military kids really are pretty awesome :goodvibes

:rotfl2:

I'm so happy to hear that you are still "on". I'm so far "off" it's like I'm in a completely different universe. bleh. I've been trying to find my way back on track, but apparently my GPS isn't working properly  But plenty of water and no alcohol today, so that's a least a step in the right direction

We get a few hours to veg out, then may hit the Riverwalk tonight.

Oh, I sure hope you make it down to the Riverwalk!

Paula -so...?????.....were you able to get the new wheels today?

Yeah, he was a good one. I have never been called ma'am so much in all my life. :lmao: Once we got him through being terrifed of us, he was great. I don't know if I shared this or not, but the co-super of my dept and I conduct interviews together. Our approach is casual convo, standard interview questions, then more casual convo. I has worked over the past year for us. I don't write somebody off due to a case of the nerves. Been there, done that. We are hoping to fill 10-14 spots. That number is up from 3. :scared1:

I was able to get 30 mins in today! Yay! My leg is tender, but everywhere else feels fine. I celebrated with a smear of nutella on a low carb bread slice.

Ugh - what a day...

Spent the better part of the day in meetings including one where I laid into one of my contractors. The day ended with shots... Need I say more?

Suffice to say I did not pick up my bike, but I am going tomorrow so all is not lost. Oh did I mention I am getting a head cold? Meh.

I am off to bed. Need to kick this quickly.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

I've never done shots at work before. I've drank wine. And mimosas. And beer. but no shots. (that I can recall anyway ;))

Sorry your day sucked Paula. Tomorrow is bike day. For sure!

Hard core Paula! I would go with the Cabo.

My boss held a team meeting at the Peephole before. For those of you who don't know, the Peep is a local corner bar & grill. Only a block away. We bring them so much business that I can buy 3 Amoretto Sours for $7.50.

Sorry you had a bad day!

Yay for downtime Kat! How are your shins?

It's just the left, and so far it seems to be much better.

Oh, I sure hope you make it down to the Riverwalk!

We did! I *MADE* them go. We ate dinner at a really, really good steak house. Yumm.

Too funny! Some were doing Cabo and I was with the bunch doing Jamieson's irish whiskey...

Hard core Paula! I would go with the Cabo.

Paula, sorry about your day. :(

I am with EE, definitely Cabo. I am so not a Jamieson's fan, though.

My poison of choice tonight was beer, as usual.

I am walking three miles a day this week. Yesterday a funny thing happened at the end of my walk.

After my first mile with my new shoes I noticed some muscles starting to strain. Not a good thing on the first mile. I read somewhere that muscles can constrict because they are in need of hydration. I stopped in at the house and grabbed a bottle of water. I consumed the entire bottle during lap two and tossed it in the yard as I went by on my way to completing mile three.

When I got almost to my house on the final lap the lady across from my house a couple of doors down came flying out her front door and started yelling at me to pick up that bottle I threw in the yard across the way. I looked at her stunned for a moment and then she said, " I saw you throw that bottle in the yard and I thought how rude of you. Please take it with you." With a little laugh I explained that it was my lawn. She of course was very apoligetic not realizing who I was and was just looking out for me. I thought it was funny and am grateful to know that my neighbors look out for me. You just never know who is looking out for you when you are not home. :rotfl:
