In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Icky icky it is sticky! Already 108 with heat index. I'm holding off on my running until the heat breaks tomorrow. Crunches for me.

I am such a pig, I have been eating so bad. Coke, Fries, Burgers UGG

I ran up and down the stairs at work today, HOLY WINDED!!!!

EE, sorry about the heat, Is about 87-90 here and rain.

Back from CT. Long day but worth it. My cousin was actually better than I expected him to be so that made things much easier. He is weak, but his spirit is still in tact :)

I am sneaking in a nap before my workout with Jesse tonight. A nap in the middle of a Wednesday = bliss.

Eating like crap today, but I am done with that. A healthy dinner is on deck for tonight. Talk to you all later...

Paula I am eating like crap with you.

Quick post before I go nap. I was on-site from 8AM-5PM yesterday, had dinner, then worked from 8PM-12:30AM on a work issue.

Got up at 6:30AM today and have been at the hospital since 7:45AM. We broke at 3:30, but will be heading to dinner around 6PM, then back to the hospital from 8PM-? (probably at least midnight) to survey the ORs while they are not in use.

This is very tedious work, basically survey every single part of the hospital to determine how to install our system (mostly concerning electrical outlets), but you are basically on your feet for the entire time.

In the meantime another client is in shambles so I am constantly fielding emails (on the phone) and calls. Oh, and then the normal manager workday stuff like trying to hire someone new, and review paperwork.

I think it's hot here but I am too tired to care.

In fact, I am so tired I can't even think. Off to nap for a while.

Paula and Kat - I hope you get some great naps in!

Popping in before my crunch session. I hate crunches. Be back later!

Paula, Kat so sorry for the long day.

Hey you both have vacation in 30 days!!!:) Sounds like you both need it.

I am off to run club, wish me luck.

So horribly dry here. Please send the rain this way too!

Back from CT. Long day but worth it. My cousin was actually better than I expected him to be so that made things much easier. He is weak, but his spirit is still in tact :)

I'm so glad to hear that he was better than expected. Still draining though. Much love headed your way Paula.

Enjoy your workout with Jesse - and (not that I'm keeping track or anything) tomorrow is bike day. Yay! :yay:

Bah. Too much work and no play makes Kat a tired, overworked Goddess. You need to make someone take you to the restaurant on the top of the spinning tower in San Antonio. Or one of the restaurants on the Riverwalk. Really. You can't go all that way and not get to the Riverwalk.

I am off to run club, wish me luck.

:cheer2: Bleachers tonight Jo???

oy. My oven is freaking out. It's beeping??? :confused3 I'm clueless. Great. Another appliance about to break down :headache:

Crunches are done! I'm so glad that Ry's football practice was rescheduled. It's just way too hot.

Nancy - I'm sorry about your appliance woes! Expensive!

Jo - can't wait to hear about your run club tonight

Kat - I think you deserve a margarita!

Paula - hope your workout went well.

I survived the workout which is saying a great deal given that I woke up from my nap about 30 minutes before I had to be at the gym. I am just wiped out this week. Too much going on and with no bike ride from last weekend I did not get my 'me' time to just zone out and reset. I really miss that time!

I ate like total crap today - here is the ugly truth:

b - egg white and cheese sandwich on an english muffin from dunkin donuts
s - watermelon that I packed to bring with us
l - corned beef sandwich and a side salad from this awesome pub in Hartford. It was so yummy, but the salt is going to haunt me for the rest of the week.
s - blueberry donut and a choc chip cookie. Why I ate both, I have no freaking clue! Smacks hand across forehead in disgust.
d - salad w/ apple, cranberries, slivered almonds and blue cheese (the salad is from Starbucks and with the dressing is only 230 calories)
s - I think I may have a little more watermelon to quell my sweet tooth. Not sure yet.

Tomorrow is a new day for eating and I am climbing back on the wagon.

Thanks for all the well wishes about my cousin. It is so hard watching someone go through this. My mom is not dealing with this well at all so I am worried not only about my cousin and his immediate family, but I am trying to help my mom cope as well. I suspect there will be a few more trips to CT before this is done though. I'll have to check out the grilled chicken sandwiches at the pup and lay off the corned beef though.

Nancy - yes, the bike appointment is tomorrow provided things didn't explode at work today. It has been a rough week work wise and the design team is in town tomorrow so I may need to push the bike pick up to Friday. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't. Good luck with the oven making strange noises.

Jo - thanks for the reminder about the pending vacation. Yes - I do need this. It has been a long summer! This project started up about a year ago and yet it seems like it was only yesterday.

Kat - try to have some fun in San Antonio. I so feel your pain about documenting existing conditions in builidings. It is tedious and exhausting, but so necessary for what you are doing. Hope it is all going smoothly and take lots of pictures! That always helped us.

EE - yeah for the stitch free status. Is that all you have to do with that whole thing or are there follow up appointments required?

I am off to go anchor the couch to the floor. Hey - someone has to do it right? Have a great night everyone!

Paula - Watermelon will actually help the corned beef (I love corned beef, but it makes me SWELL). It will help flush the sodium off. Stress eating - been there done that! I understand where you are. Tomorrow is a new day. Pick yourself up by the boot straps and don't beat yourself up.

No more follow up appointments unless my scars require cortisone. This doesn't mean that I won't see this dermo again though. I like him alot. I am checking to see if he is covered by my insurance, if so, I will have my PCP refer me to him. Jumping ship on my previous dermo, but I can't say enough good things about him. For anybody's benefit who doesn't know, I had taken some meds that messed with my skin. He fixed it.

Woke up this morning to rain. :confused3 It wasn't supposed to storm until much later today. Once this cell passes thru, I'm going to try to get out for a ride. No workout yesterday. Unreasonable amounts of healthy food and several drinks last night have left me feeling totally sluggish. ick.

Paula - ugh on the food day! Not *completely* awful, just that lunch leading into the afternoon sugar fest. :headache: You need to make those folks at work understand that today is NOT a day for mucking up your schedule. You have prior plans, darn it, and they need to just DEAL! ;)

EE - yay on being done with this whole dermatologist thing!:thumbsup2

Jo - how was your run club last night?

Storms heading our way too. Its really dark but the Doppler shows it hitting about 20 miles north.

I'm itching like crazy! I have made it 4 days without coffee!!! Hope everybody is doing OK today.

The run club was great, we just did the treadmill to find pace and then strech with Sergio, he has done 17 full marathons. Nice Guy, but when he counts 10 seconds its more like 40 while your streching.
I LOVED Every min. of it.!!!

Long run Saturday, still trying to find a sitter, so far not so good.

Nancy, You broke the oven :lmao: just kidding, hope its a quick fix.
Yay for the rain you wanted.

EE, 4 days without coffee that is great, its been 12ish hours without Coke for me. I guess I am not a really good support system with quiting with you :rotfl2:
Yay for rain for you too. I guess we have a few nice days then really hot on Sunday.

Paula, Crossing my fingers for you to get your bike today. You need a little ray of sunshine.

Kat, how are you holding up?? Escape for the hospital yet, sending hope to you that you get some down time.

Walked into work today to my very own bottle of Patron Tequila from two of my coworkers :yay:
