In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

:
Plus, I did 3 miles in 32:45. :)

And I'm sure this is divine if I knew a thing about running.

But I love Carolina Blue running shirts. Just sayin'. :rolleyes1 I love XL as well. popcorn:: Kelly loves them too. :lmao:

Okay will catch up with everyone else later. I got to go get this ice off my knee and do some work. Megan, can't wait to read your RR.

:lovestruc to all.

Lisa, have I mentioned lately how much I love you?? :goodvibes

The pumpkin on stilts comment was more that I *was* one, not that I am anymore. This rather confirmed my already fairly strong suspicion that I mostly gain around the middle.

My thighs look, honestly, like they need some work. I haven't done any strength training to this point (other than Pilates/Yoga) and probably need to add some soon.

I also re-measured for bra size on my own, last night, and I have gone down a band size but not a cup size (D).

I am not sure of the girl that did the body fat thing because she does it from weight, age, and measurements, and not calipers.

I have a "Carolina Blue" ( ;) ) running shirt in an XXL singlet that is up for the taking... It was ordered too big and fit me back then, but doesn't anymore. The XL shirt fits well right now, if that gives you any indication.

Almond milk is made from almonds (duh), but is like soy milk in that it is a substitute for cow's milk. It's about 40 calories in a cup, about half the calories as skim (fat free) cow's milk.

I don't like soy milk at all but I love almond milk.

Ah, thank you for that! I think i'll give it a try - I don't like Soy Milk either!

I am not giving up on my diet or in dating. Don't these guys realize that I am a goddess? lol

Word. You ARE a goddess and the right guy will come along and treat you like the goddess you are!

So Kat here's my question about the almond milk, does it taste like regular milk?

That was my next question :rotfl:

OH! I forgot. Almond milk. I am not sure if it tastes like cow's milk, but I know that it's a lot better than soy milk.

I don't really drink cow's milk... just in cereal, coffee, and in things. I was borderline lactose intolerant growing up and so I associate plain milk with bad things.

It's probably dependent on your taste, but I would give it a try. The unsweetened original that I bought yesterday is actually only 30 cals in a cup. I am not sure if it would be good in say, a cheese sauce, but it is definitely good on cereal and in coffee. :)

That makes sense - I use skimmed milk on cereal and in drinks because the semi-skimmed makes me bloated, and don't even get me started on the full fat milk
Im going to hunt round the supermarket website to see if they sell it here, or something similar!

SO, I got my 6 month "checkup" measure and body fat done at the gym at lunch. I have lost 8.5" around my waist and 1" around my calves, and my thighs have stayed the same. Pumpkin on stilts anyone? Also, I lost 8% body fat.

Plus, I did 3 miles in 32:45. :)

AWE.SOME!! 8.5 inches!!!!! :cool1:

But I love Carolina Blue running shirts. Just sayin'. :rolleyes1 I love XL as well. popcorn:: Kelly loves them too. :lmao:

I do love blue...:rolleyes1

:lmao:

The new series of CSI Miami has just started - yes, im going to go on the thigh trainer whilst im watching it! I find that CSI is the best program to exercise to! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Kat- I forget that not everyone is as short as I am. I still wear a lot of my shirts to work even though they're so much bigger. They actually were teasing me at work because yesterday I wore an xl shirt and now I'm down to a medium or small so I looked silly. Awesome job on cutting inches! You're really doing great. Keep it up girl!

Oh and the OBX half... my cousin and I may do it, it's the day before my birthday so we might do a long weekend down there. Hopefully it doesn't sell out before we decide.

Jo- I don't normally eat cereal in the morning(I've never been a cereal eater, even as a child.) but I like the Kashi Heart to Heart cereals as well. I eat the one that has honey I think. We got it when my dad had heart problems and I get a box from time to time when I'm going to be too busy to make myself breakfast.

Hi Kelly and Lisa!

Thanks everyone for the advice on socks. I don't wear any cotton clothes when I workout so I'm not sure why I still wear cotton socks. I mean I even have under armor thongs to run. (TMI but true. lol)

Work is still driving me nuts, my blisters are still there but day three of no ice cream so today is a win.

Yes I'm bitter.

:lmao:

FANTASTIQUE!

of course I read that with a nice French accent
And very jealous. I so wish I knew my ratio. How did you do it? Underwater? Calipers? I want to go in those pod things - they look fun.

egads. I'm supposed to have mine done again. not really what I want to be doing right now. :sad2: I've had the calipers, those fancy scale thing & some other hand held electrical pluse thingy. All take into consideration various factors of age, height, weight etc and I've found them to be consistant within a point or 2 of each other. Now, when you are talking about someone as number crazy as I am, "a point or two" is a HUGE difference. But mostly I think as long as you are doing the same method consistantly at least your relative loss/gain will be accurate.

Am I making any sense at all? 'Cause I really don't feel like I am :headache:

But I love Carolina Blue running shirts. Just sayin'. :rolleyes1 I love XL as well. popcorn::

Wait. I think Lisa is trying to tell us something :confused3

I have not been having a very good day today. Started off fine. Had a nice 20 mile bike ride (followed by a dip in the pool ;)) but so many stupid, little annoying things have been happening lately. Just crap that in and of itself is really nothingness, but all piled together is really starting to wear me down. Weary. That's what I am. Weary.

EE - I've been meaning to comment on the camera.

Remember @ WDW I had my daughters camera? Remember how I kept freaking out because I thought I had messed up some kind of setting on it because I couldn't find the change-the-color-option that she showed me? And how when I got home and sheepishly gave her the camera with the apology for screwing up her camera she laughed herself silly, because after all my freaking out, she showed me that what I was looking for was on a scroll down menu and I had failed to "scroll down"? :confused3

Yeah. That was a Nikon Coolpix (of some kind). It takes great pictures. Even for the technologically impaired, like me. :thumbsup2

Oh, and you can add my oven door to my list of things that have broken. Yep. Making dinner at 9 effing 30 tonight and the <bleeping> hinge sprung.

Honestly I can help but feel like I've jinxed myself. When I got the new coffeemaker, my old one wasn't dead yet. It was indeed on it's last leg, but not yet dead (cue Spamalot please). And I opened my big mouth and commented on how all my appliances were bought brand new 15 years ago when we built the house, and how I was afraid they would all *go* at the same time. yeah. karma. I love you too, honey.

I call that being pecked to death by a duck.

Hope it gets better soon.

I love it Nancy! BTW, I am going to be driving near some Amish farms tomorrow. :rolleyes1

Well, I am working off two laptops and a Droid tonight. Trying to get in a good situation where work is concerned. So much stuff to do.

I call that being pecked to death by a duck.

:lmao: OMG. This morning I was thinking "what is it that Kat calls crap like this? Being pecked to death by a hen? "

yep. That 'bout describes it. Another in.sanely humid day here. Is it possible to have MORE than 100% humidity? Because it certainly feels that way. Stifling. Suffocating. Thank God for central air. :worship:

 Wave to my relatives! Hope you have an absolutely fabulous road trip.

Speaking of road trips - Erika! When is yours?

 hi!

I'm enjoying a rainy morning. As soon as the rain passes and the sun comes back it's going to be unbearable out there, but for now, I'm getting "paperwork" kinda stuff done and trying super hard not to break anything else around here :rolleyes1

I will Nancy! We are going to have lunch at one of the restaurants.

So when you said Edinboro you really meant EDINBORO (almost Kat country!!!). :Get off my Florida route there missy. That's my 79! When you were in Edinboro you were only about four hours from Toronto.

I've been through that Amish area of Pennsylvania and the turnpike so many a time. Just last summer in the middle of the night en route to NYC from the Pittsburgh airport from WDW!!!

And we're waiting here in Allentown for the Pennsylvania we never found. All the promises are teachers made - if we work hard - if we behave. Yes, I probably mashed two together. One year - years ago - a friend and I blared it while we travelled through....

Have fun Amiee. HOW I LOVE ME A ROAD TRIP!!!! Lucky you guys!
