In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

E, yuck. I took refuge in the treadmill. 96 is too hot.

I have actually been talking to some folks around here who say this area isn't so good for the flat courses, either. It looks deceptively flat but "rolling" is more like it. They say that City of Oaks marathon that I was looking at (the full, though, not the half), is *brutal*. Not as bad as that 13.1 Boston, though!

Okay, food for today:
B: fiber cereal (60), milk (10)
L: 1 cup diced potatoes (100), Omelette: 1/2 cup egg beaters (60), 1 oz 96% lean ground beef (35), diced mushroom/onion
S: 1 bag ff popcorn (200)
D: 1 serving edamame (100), mashed cauliflower (100), steamed broccoli (20), Homemade stuffed chicken: 5 oz chicken breast (140), cut a pocket and stuffed with 3 chopped shrimp (25), broccoli, mushroom, 1/2 sliced smoked gouda (40) and baked at 375 for 30 min.
S: sf pudding (60)

Total, 950 cals. A little under but I am really not hungry and haven't eaten the pudding yet.
Water, 130 oz (HOT today)
Exercise, 45 min run/walk - 5K short run done, w/ 10 min warmup/cooldown walk, 100 crunches on the ball, 1.5 hours mowing the lawn with a non-self-propelled mower

HI All. Back to work for me.

Had a great weekend, Did Jillian DVD Friday and Elliptical on Sunday and thats about it. lots of swimming the the girls.

Going to be a busy week for me. Alaina's Bday is Sunday, the big 3!
Alexa has a pagent for our towns summerfest on Saturday.

but for now, its all work. YUK

I hope everyone has a great day.

Went to JC today and am down 3.1 pounds.

WOOT! :woohoo:

It us way too hot and sticky out there for a bike ride tonight and the gym is closed so I am relaxing in the AC and starting to reread the last Harry Potter book.

OMG! Why did I not know that you hadn't read that yet? Oh, Paula. I'm a Harry Potter fan much in the same way E is a Twi-hard.:lovestruc

Kat- congrats on you loss!

Jo- any big birthday plans? Party? Cake?

E - this would be a perfect time to make some "go jump in a lake" kind of remark. But I'm far to hot to think of anything snappy right now

I had me a little tantrum yesterday :rolleyes1 I wanna be skinny again and not have to work so hard at it  Yes, of course, I know we *all* want that, but I actually had a little personal hissy fit about it:lmao:

Nancy, you crack me up. I had a fit right along with you.
W T.... F.. Why can't we eat bread, burgers and be ok. My DH can do it.

Really do I need to gain, 5lbs from a burger and some beer from the weekend. Really!!

Any way. YES Big Bday plans. having about 20 kids to the Jump N Fun play place. With pizza, pink cake, and goodie bags. (this is my first time doing goodie bags. I hope the little monsters like them. Bubbles, MMs, Pop Up Sucker thing, Balloon, Crazy Straw and Fruit Snack.

OMG, I can't believe what I have gotten myself into with the pageant for Alexa. I thought it would be just spin around in her dress, smile and get to ride in the firetruck in the parade. NO WAY. they have 2 hour practice twice. They learn a dance, have an interview. Hello people she's 5. Its for the town carnival. O well. Alexa is excited!

Declaring thread bankruptcy. The weekend was crazy busy and we have a client visit today. Joy! Oh and its 103 with heat index.

EE, we're only 99 w/ a heat index of 101. :)

102 is the predicted actual temp for tomorrow. Methinks my exercising will be *indoors*.

Sorry about the craziness.

Hi Everyone!

Wow, you guys are getting some HOT weather! Its about 5* here and raining :rotfl2: (not really, its about 68* but the wind feels cool and the rain has just started - its dropped around 15* since last week!)

Paula - Awesome on the loss!

Kat - Im still loving your food posting, I get great ideas from you! And way to go on the loss!

Nancy - I myself have had that same hissy fit once or twice!

Jo - The kiddos goody bags sound yum!

Everyone - Hi!

I got weighed today for the first time in ages! Im down 2lb which is a loss but not nearly what it should be. Im a bridesmaid on the 17th and im 11lb away from my target weight. Now I know my dress fits perfectly, and I didn't expect to lose all of the weight before the wedding but 2lbs - come on! :rotfl2: Well, I guess im just going to have to push myself that bit more with the exercise and drink more water! The food and tracking are the areas that Im having no problems with lately!

Hope everyone is having a great day! :upsidedow

I have to catch up later.

Kelly, the Queen - the poor woman dressed to the max in the mid-nineties to complete her nine days here. Halifax was like fall weather and she finished in extreme heat. I don't know how she did it in those clothes.

And now in NYC in over a hundred. Oh no - poor Queen. :goodvibes No strapless dresses, eh? :rotfl:;)

Did you know she visited the inventors of the Blackberry while she was here in Ontario? So funny.

Just popped in to say that I'm on day 16 of my period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a typo. WT H is this crap? It's your future youngins! :lmao::rotfl::lmao: This is just crap. No one talks about this perimenopausal nonsense. I googled it - apparently it's a sign. Can we say not hormonally balanced. Oh yes we can. Once again, get it done youngins.

Oh and Kelly that church visit - my neighbourhood. Old one I mean. Two blocks from my condo. Five minute walk.

Hey everyone! Took the weekend off from anything but posting facebook updates. I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm off to exercise class(because it has AC and my home doesn't!) I have a weeks worth of commenting to catch up on when I'm done and believe me I'll have a large post after class!

Hi team!

14 miles on the spun bike because it is too darn hot to ride outside. Can I just whine about how much I hate training inside? How did I train for the half solely on the treadmill without shooting myself? Seriously! Anyhoo, had to be done and now it is over.

Nancy - I devoured the Harry Potter book when it first came out. I am reading it again to pick up on the subtleties before the movie comes out in the fall. I may not be a Twilight fan (blasphemy I know) but I do enjoy me some Harry Potter.

Lisa - all I can say to you is Oh My God! WTH? Sending hugs your way for this cruel and unusual punishment you are enduring.

Not much else going on here. Trying to take it easy this week. Wish me luck on that lol!

Lisa, geebus on the bleeding. And sadly, I know exactly who you are talking about (Blackberry inventor). He has also desperately been trying to buy an NHL team over the last few years.

Paula, how the HECK do you do the spin bike?? I tried it for 10 min today and practically slit my wrists. Hurts my butt and holy boring batman, even with an attached TV screen.

Food for today:
B: Coffee
L: salad (50), TJ black bean and corn enchiladas (260), half a pear (40)
S: 1/2 cup fiber cereal (60), 1/4 cup almond milk (10), 10 pop chips (60)
D: Marie Callendar's uncured bacon mac&cheese steamer (380), one serving ff pringles (70), sf pudding (60)

Total, 990 - tracking 3/7
Water, 64 oz - 3/7
Exercise, 10 min on spin bike, 20 min on elliptical, 1 hour Pilates - 1 day xtraining, 1 day Pilates

Kat - the butt thing is all about building up a tolerence. It takes time and a great pair of padded bike shorts. Also if the bike isn't adjusted to fit you, the ride will totally suck. As fir dealing with the boredom three words: kick @ss music!

But yeah - it still sucks in comparison to riding outside. Just my two cents. That and three bucks may get you a cup of fancy coffee somewhere. lol

LISA! :scared1: Holy crap. I would have probably injured or maimed someone by now :scared:

Jo
- kid parties. Stressful but fun!

Paula - I miss my spin classes something fierce.

Kelly - 2 pound lost is awesome! :thumbsup2 I understand that you aren't where you want to be, but heck. You'll get there, right?

Meg - :rotfl2: going to the gym for the a/c.

Heat here is in.sane. It was 104* (air temp) at one point here today. The thermometer in the truck said 113* in the driveway. My lawn looks (and feels!) like shredded wheat. bleh.

Hello, my dear friends!

Ok, it hit 102* here today. In motherf'ing MAINE!!! You know MAINE?!!? The COLD state? WT F is up with this?!?! And humid! And tomorrow is supposed to be WORSE. God help me. So for my exercise today I swam the lake. Maybe 1.5 miles? Not sure. That's about 105 lengths in a pool. I just went by time and according to that it was about 1.5. Something, anyway. And it kept me cool.

OMG! Why did I not know that you hadn't read that yet? Oh, Paula. I'm a Harry Potter fan much in the same way E is a Twi-hard.:lovestruc

OMG, Nancy, we SO are sharing a brain right now. I have had the SAME hissy fit a couple of times this week. Like, WT F?!!? Don't you know who I am and how much I work out?!?!

OMG, Jo--insane. But I am not surprised. From everything I have ever heard about the pageant scene, that sounds typical. I have 2 girls, too, and wouldn't handle that well. I'd have one conversation with one of those uber-pageant moms and I'm sure I would be arrested. It wouldn't be pretty. *sigh* I'll put my girls in sports or theater/music any day.

Just popped in to say that I'm on day 16 of my period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMFG, kill me now. Seriously.

Hi team!

14 miles on the spun bike because it is too darn hot to ride outside. Can I just whine about how much I hate training inside? How did I train for the half solely on the treadmill without shooting myself? Seriously! Anyhoo, had to be done and now it is over.

SO laughing at this, Paula! In a good way. Because I remember the SAME thing. Not sure if you all remember when I made the transition from training inside to outside. I was SO freaked out by it. And now, as you all know...I will do ANYTHING to avoid running or biking indoors! :lmao:

Paula, how the HECK do you do the spin bike?? I tried it for 10 min today and practically slit my wrists. Hurts my butt and holy boring batman, even with an attached TV screen.

Totally get this, Kat. I have done spin a few times, and OMG, myassfreakingkills! Seriously, for DAYS. And I have padded shorts and all of that. Definitely wrist-slitting behavior.

All is well here. Lake house is good. Weather is ****inghot. Working out. Eating ok--considering this is a vacation week, eating great.

Forgot to mention--KELLY! Great job on the 2 pounds! And if the dress fits perfectly, then all is good! And we WILL be getting pics, right? :goodvibes

I'm baaaaack! I had to watch Deadliest Catch(my obsession for many years now) and well I just can't do two things at once in this heat so my post had to wait.

E- First... if you'd like to adopt a very easy going 28 year old I'm sure I'd love to be a part of your family. Swimming and drinks... you really don't need to offer me more then that. So I am not sure what my plans are for Sunday, I will probably know better in the next few days. But I will not leave Maine till I see you!

Kat- I think the thing about the race that made it harder then it needed to be was the lack of cups for water and also us middle of the pack people missed the water that was driven to the last few stops when they ran out. Oh and the hills. Way to go on the 5k!!!

Nancy- Do you have AC in your house? Because then you can look at the bright side... no AC in the house is worse.

Paula- Way to go on the three pounds! You rock! :thumbsup2

Jo- Sounds like you have a busy weekend coming up. I personally would love a goodie bag like the ones you're making!

Lisa- Not to sound like a mom or anything but be careful with the bleeding. Not saying you're headed this way but my mom went almost two months bleeding which had so many different affects on her body. (None of them good as you can imagine.) Again not saying you're headed that way but just more keep an eye on things and don't be afraid to talk to a doctor.

Kelly- Two pounds is still awesome and I'm sure you'll look great in your dress for the wedding!!

So it was 104 degrees when I got to my car at 4 today. Yes, I went to the gym for the AC. We're doing work on our house and so my AC unit can't go in the window. I was tempted to sleep in a sports bra tonight. I was not prepared for this!

I feel like I've been running around like crazy since my half and I know my diet has suffered for it. Starting right this moment I'm going to be very strict with myself till I leave for vacation. (July 24th.) So that's a little over two weeks to really keep myself in check with as few slip ups as possible. I know I can do it. I just need my focus back. (And to drop a few more pesky pounds.)

It's hard to believe that it was 104 degrees out today and I was sitting at work making decisions about my season tickets for next year's college hockey season. Usually I don't start missing hockey season till about late July/early August. The World Cup just didn't do a good enough job distracting me.

Ok off to bed I go. Stay cool everyone!

MEG--my cell is 207-. We will totally connect! It's a must! AND OMG, you are a pre-school teacher! That means you have patience and are great with kids! You are totally adopted! :rotfl2:

Paula - great on the weight loss and :lmao: on the lack of jeans. I laughed and laughed because I'm so vain and uptight and crazy that there would no way I would wear jeans on a scale even in the middlle of winter. EVER. Or if I did I would play a heavy clothes/lighter clothes game. :lmao: Yes, I'm aware. Cuckoo. Makes no sense. I AM aware. :rotfl:

And fantastic on the spin bike.

Kat - down - you're down!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

As are you Kelly!!! :thumbsup2 Kelly down is down is hmmm - DOWN.

He Jo! I have to go back and get your birthday in my head, :flower3: (EDIT: or I have to read properly and not be so off and get whose birthday it really is!!!! Whoops. Sorry. Have fun with the girls)

Nancy! I LOVED the fully clothed comment. Loved it.

I've screwed my knee in that lake for two days - climbing rocks. Balancing on rocks beneath. Getting my sandal stuck in - hmmm if you've never been in a lake - in that porridge.

Really SCREWED it. Could hardly walk today. It has been bad since I had that fall in traffic a couple of months back. It would no longer bend back and I just ignored it and now I'm paying with the fall from slippery rocks.

Let it be known I am such a BIG BABY. I was actually crying about how long this or that is going to take. I"M ONLY TAKING TWO DAYS OFF kind of temper tantrum. Oh boy - why do we take good health for granted over and over. This sucks.

Amiee - I've missed you here.

Kelly - it's almost Thursday! :scared1: You poor ting! :goodvibes I can't believe future SIL hasn't told her husband yet. OM G.

OMG, Nancy, we SO are sharing a brain right now. I have had the SAME hissy fit a couple of times this week. Like, WT F?!!? Don't you know who I am and how much I work out?!?!

I'd have one conversation with one of those uber-pageant moms and I'm sure I would be arrested. It wouldn't be pretty. *sigh* I'll put my girls in sports or theater/music any day.

OMFG, kill me now. Seriously.

#1 - to you both. So frustrating - I know.

I've been thinking all week that Erika - you HAVE TO get your insomnia in order or - I know this is depressing - you're fighting an uphill battle. Obviously, you can lose and you have. But to really conquer it - you HAVE to do something about the lack of sleep. Yes no one exercises like you so maybe it's time to look at what is making things harder for you and all the research suggests that lack of good sleep is a huge factor in weight gain/hard to keep it off.

I have no idea when or why I became your mother. :lmao::rotfl::love:

#2 - OM G. :lmao::rotfl::lmao:. No, it would not be pretty.

#3 - LOVE IT! I'm so glad I chose TMI because you guys are all funny. And it pisses me off even more b/c just a monthly - or bi-weekly - nonsense reminder - this strange occurence - that fertility is coming to an end. Megan, I appreciate it - greatly. My mother told me hers just stopped one day and that's all. Like she was so blessed that it just went ta da. :rolleyes1 Whatever. :goodvibes
