In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

HI All
Busy day with work today
No work out let. I hope to at least get on the elliptical

I hope everyone has a great day.

Nancy, you are too funny. If it takes you til new years to wrap, then you got to much stuff HA HA.. This year I promise not to go over board on my kids.
They don't need any more stuff!!!

If it takes you til new years to wrap, then you got to much stuff HA HA..

nope. Just means that Christmas lasts too long around here, and I wait until the last minute to do my shopping

Today was absolutely glorious here. Got lots of out-side stuff done, and I picked raspberries. :lovestruc oh how I love me some raspberries!

OMG - Jesse killed me tonight. He has upped the pace of my workouts and I barely get a minute to catch my breath before it is on to the next thing. I was supposed to get 15 miles in on the spin bike but I made it to 6 and was wiped out so I had to stop. Ugh....

It feels like my mojo is leaving me or my workouts are getting harder. Either way, it sucks right now. So to quote Dori from Finding Nemo - just keep going, just keep going...

Off to bed - kat I am determined to get a good night's sleep tonight.
How is everyone doing tonight?

Nothing new to report here. Nothing good, nothing bad, just pretty much enjoying the different type of busy that summer brings to my life.

:rotfl2: finding nemo. Love that movie

I went to walmart and picked strawberrys :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Jo, I do that all the time! Even better, my husband went to Walmart and picked strawberries FOR me today.

Nancy, I do love raspberries, though. I would love to have them in my yard, as they are so $$ at the store. Same with blueberries. Both will grow here, just have to figure out where to plant them (oh yeah, and that motivation/effort thing).

Great week so far. Tonight was good--played GOOD tennis for a change (served 6 aces), then ran 4 miles, then met my summer husband for cocktails and chowder. (It IS Maine after all.) On Saturday we head to the lake house for an entire week.

Lisa/Kat--the lake house is great, sure, but I don't know about heaven. :goodvibes 5 of us and 2 bedrooms (all of the kids are the loft together), so it can feel tight on rainy days. But if you love peace, tranquility, nature, and wildlife, it is the place to be, that's for sure.

We have wild blueberries here in our yard and at the lake house. And my in-laws have literally the best raspberry patch in the state. They have won contests and stuff. So we get all the raspberries we can handle every year and that is awesome. We go to the lick "u-pick" for strawberries, though.

Jo--I Christmas shop all year long, so don't sweat it. Just ask Liz, Lyz, and Nancy--they kinda hate me for it. :rotfl2:

Look at me getting all caught up! :lmao:

Paula--yes, just keep going! It'll come back. I have been in a workout funk lately as well. I am still doing them, mind you, like clock work. They just aren't feeling great. Most of my runs have been stonkers, but I am still getting my miles in and that is what counts. I can't remember the last time I had a sub-10 mile. And in the spring I had my first sub-9 mile (8:52)! And now...WT F?!?! I have been right around 11-minute miles for like 2 weeks and can't seem to break out of it and it is totally starting to annoy me! But I know I will--eventually. It'll come back. Just keep in mind that your workouts are like everything else in life--a series of ups and downs.

Nancy--I read what you wrote about you and I at the summit and breaking through the fences! OMG, yes, jail time for sure! HI LAR IOUS.

Meg--great job on the Half and then getting back into other workout routines!

And with that, I am claiming thread bankruptcy! It is my one and only Get Out of Jail Free card and I am using it now. I have REALLY missed you all. Please don't take it personally that I checked out on you for a while. I'm pretty sure I'm back now. :goodvibes

OH--in other news...I got a cortisone shot for my shoulder today, so we'll see how that plays out. Doc said in 3-4 days I will either be pain-free or I will now that it didn't work and we will start to talk about surgery. It is SUPER achy right now from having that deep, inter-muscular injection though. Considering we are the lake next week--where I do a ton of water skiing and kayaking--I am SO hoping that the shot works. It will be a bummer of a week up there if I can't get a paddle in every morning.

We ate dinner at 6:00 tonight  Do you have any idea how EARLY that is for us? We're an 8:00-8:30 family. So of course by 9:30 I was hitting the fridge for a snack.

OMG, really?!?! WOWZA. We eat at 5:45 every night. Which is why I have to save like 5 points to make it through the night!

yikes. Not another one  Erika is probably done and wrapped. She's a freak too. :santa: Me? I won't be done and wrapped until New Years Day. Seriously. :sad2:

HA! I typed my post above before I even read this! :lmao:

LOVE it. I am going to steal it. Well, I mean that I am going to go to Kohls' and by the same one. So we can be twins. For realsies. ;)

Nice! Did you get the regular bottom or the skirt?

I am still in the market for a nice, not-tight, sleeveless tech shirt to wear for long runs. The Kohl's versions were a bit too tight for my taste. Maybe Target will have something, or Dick's.[/QUOTE

Oh-A note for ALL--if you are near an UnderArmour Outlet, RUN, don't walk, for the best sale ever! They have short sleeve tech shirts (NON-fitted...just right) for get this, $9!!! I went today and bought 4 of them! And they also have long sleeves ones for $14. Awesome deals!

And if you don't have one near you, I will be willing to get some for you and ship them. Just let me know colors and sizes.

I did want to say that I'm on my computer because I'm registering for 5k that takes place July 11. (E- It's a Sunday up in Kennebunk. You know if you were into a 5k in Maine on the beach you might want to check it out.) I checked to see when I can register for the Princess and I'm looking at this half that takes place in November two days before my birthday down in NC. I might make Kat regret she mentioned.

Um, hello. Are you doing the KBIA 5k?!?!? If so, I am WORKING that race!!! That is the beach club that we belong to. (Yes, we belong to both a pool club and a beach club...it's crazy but that is just how it works here.) So if that is the one you are running, then OMG!!! Exciting! I will be wearing my WISH shirt. And I'll give you my cell number so we can connect!!!

is this where I say "it's better to have typed and lost than never to have typed at all?" :confused3

Aren't you a funny girl? :lmao: Why yes you are!

People! Less than an hour to NBA free agency! LESS THAN AN HOUR. So many moves. So exciting. We will lose our "star" but I'm not sad - I like all the unknowns. LeBron especially.

Okay, when I lost my post - here's what I came on to say the most -

Kat! Fanflippintastic Kat. Congratulations to you on the loss. :thumbsup2

(Yes, we belong to both a pool club and a beach club...

OMG. Did I not TELL you about the file I started headed, "THE THINGS ERIKA NEED NOT SHARE". :lmao::rotfl::lmao:;)

So are you really going to keep me waiting another minute - you stayed with BLT?

Well that just sucks.

HI LAR IOUS on the first! :rotfl2: I know, I know. We *do* have a wonderful life, I can't complain that's for sure. Did I mention my Father's Day present to Jeff? Maybe I better not... :rotfl:

As for the second...funny you should ask. JUST TODAY I finally made the switch. VGC. I feel better about it. And my long term plan is to sell SSR and buy BLT. That feels "right" to me. Then we would have 200 pts. at Grand Cali and 200 and BLT. And while I ADORE my SSR, there is just no need to have booking window there. And I am not ready to buy BLT sight unseen. I have just read too many things that give me pause--from Kat and from others as well.

Oh! And just last week they announced that kids sail free on DCL for January and February 7-night cruises out of Los Angeles and go to the Mexican Riviera. Since we already have a 4-night cruise booked in FL for December, I am currently pricing out the 7-night with the kids going free. I am willing to be that with that deal, we can do a 7-night Mexican cruise for the same price as the 4-night Bahamian one. So that would put us back in Cali soon! :goodvibes This should probably go on that file you mentioned, eh? :rotfl2:

Ah Lisa, how I missed thee! :lovestruc

Lisa, thanks. :goodvibes

E, too funny... D and I were watching our video from Sept when I wandered around BLT and I was thinking of you and that pool. I am glad you went for VGC.

Also, Target has a bunch of their tech wear singlets on sale for $7. I got a blue one in a L (a bit big), and red one in a M (a bit small but maybe wearable). M! I bought an M! :)

It's so hot here that sleeves are not an option for outdoor run/walking. I don't like showing the bat wings but I don't care when it's already 80 at 6:30AM.

Speaking of which, it's supposed to be 82 as a HIGH tomorrow, so I am considering doing my 3 miles before work. If y'all hear that CRACK as he!! freezes over, you will know I got out of bed.

Okay, finished another phase of testing. Yes, I think we can come to the conclusion that I was VERY stupid to put off life (as in coming early to see you all run in Florida) thinking they were going to go faster than they have. It's July now. INSERT BIG LONG ANNOYED SIGH.

Tuesday was a very long day that honestly drained the crap out of me. I'm so done right now in my head. It was from 7:45 to around 3:30. Yes I'm whining. I'm aware. One part was the psych with the social worker which showed a time of an hour and a half. I thought must be a typo or an exageration.

NOPE! 90 minutes of unending questions along the lines of "did your father drink? Tell me about your significant romantic relationships. Have you ever tried to cut yourself? Does your recipient appreciate you and how do you know that? Was there abuse in your upbringing?" I'm really smilng - because I don't remember it being all that draining last time and you know if I was shellshocked (Miss sharing) than it was BAD. ;) But she's not sending me for a psych appointment with a psychiatrist. Yeah! Apparently they do that.

And my next appointment with the kidney doctor is not for a month and half. INSERT BIG ANNOYING PISSED OFF GETTING VERY TIRED SIGH. Okay done. :lmao: I thinking piss off doctors I bet you are taking a nice long vacation just to annoy me. Insert wink.

Here's the funny of the day. I ask my assessment coordinator - "what was the issue with my 24 hour urine (you remember right t - the one travelling in my little purple bicycle basket across town :surfweb:) that I had to redo. Well Lisa because you have a larger body surface area than the average person...

OMG. Please - go ahead. Stop and take it in. :lmao::rotfl::lmao: Who knew you could be DISed in such a technical manner.

Because you have a larger body surface area than the general person they used incorrect height/weight data to do the calculation and it was showing incorrect creatine levels. When they used the average body type you came out just fine. :cool2:

Okay, need to shut up - I could just type all day. And I'm a bit wary of saying "I'm so done" - last time those thoughts coincided with T's health.

Thank GOD I have here to vent. Thanks for listening. :goodvibes

Oh gosh it's Thursday.

Ran to Staples. Bought a filing cabinet. Please completely annoy us all and bring it on. :lmao::rolleyes1

Intense jealousy can be so life affirming. :rotfl:

Lisa, thanks. :goodvibes

It's been so weird here. Near ninety and humid as hell and then TODAY like fall or something. So strange.

Kat, you must feel so different running with your weight way down, eh?

Erika, lovey on the VGC. :cool1: I'm so envious. Have you imformed Mr. Christopher? :goodvibes

And apparently draft leaks already. Bosh is going to join D Wade in Miami. I know you all care so much. :goodvibes

I can't decide what to do for Thursday - waist or weight. Hmmmm.

Lisa, thanks. :goodvibes

E, too funny... D and I were watching our video from Sept when I wandered around BLT and I was thinking of you and that pool. I am glad you went for VGC.

We really look for 2 things in a resort--the first is atmosphere. We really like the feel of elegance/higher end and relaxing. SSR fits that really well. The other thing we like, of course, is proximity to parks. BWV and BCV fit that part. And I suppose BLT does, too, as it is on the monorail.

And then we have the Grand Cal--it fits BOTH. It is, by far (at least in my opinion) the most elegant and the most relaxing of ALL of the DVCs. And as I said at least a dozen times in my TR, you cannot beat a private entrance to a park from the lobby! So it wins hands down for both of our most important criteria.

And then there are all of the other things as well. The villas are HUGE. Much bigger than the standards at WDW and just a tad smaller than OKW (and bigger in some ways...like the dining table is bigger which sounds minor but makes a difference when you are a family of 5), plus there is a murphy bed in the living room along with the pull-out couch and that makes a difference for us as well. So even though the square footage is smaller than OKW, it feels bigger and has more important features for a family of 5. So across the board, VGC just wins for us.

I am *hoping* to feel this way about BLT as well. The pics LOOK like I will really like the atmosphere. And like VGC, the villas are bigger and have the larger table and extra bed, etc. And it *should* be easy to get to the parks. But it boils down to me not feeling comfortable buying it sight unseen. I'll have to make it a point to stay there--and soon!

Lisa--I have to head back tot he DVC boards to tell Christopher. I know he will approve. :goodvibes
