I have to do a longer run this weekend - that would be 5-6 miles for me, since I have only done 2.5.-3. Today or tomorrow!

I'm cleaning this house today and playing Just Dance!

Pulled Pork is slow roasting in the oven :lovestruc Today is tons of errands and laundry as we prepare to ship Seth back off to school tomorrow. Which, of course, means tomorrow I sit. and drive. 7 hours. yay.

no, no more news yet. Waiting patiently at this point. Stephen is really hoping that Nate chooses Hofstra because he thinks it's the best academic fit for him. We'll see. And yes, it's time. I've enjoyed having him home, but he's ready, I'm ready. He didn't have a real job over break, just misc. this and that's, and he's been idle long enough.

Nice job Jo! :thumbsup2 I'm so very proud of you! Make sure you drink plenty of water today. For the "hurt" - I'd take advil. and I nice hot shower. Or bath. Relax those muscles.

the drive is super easy. Just l-o-n-g. He's left a message for another guy who lives right near us, so maybe if I'm wicked lucky, he'll catch a ride with him
 
Nancy - one of my friends has a daughter in her first year away at school. Unlike Seth she's free to come and go. She's coming home too much for her mother who finally said, "honey, I haven't had time to miss you yet". Good luck on the ride.

Jo - way to go and dig deep. Now relax. I'll be contrary and suggest an ice bath.

I did 8 miles in the snow this morning - streets, sidewalks, trail, all over the place. I wanted 10 but with all the high stepping felt as though I got a good workout. Pace was lousy, but that's okay.

Work day is better but only because it's over. Did some strategic accounting for a terminal patient - this one was tough. So glad i could do tohat for him. Fast forward to now, hair do time at the school
 
Hello Ladies, I have a few questions

What do you do for breakfast before the race, I know that we have to get on the bus at 4AM (right?) I have read that people have ate while on the bus or waiting for the start, but what do you eat.
Today I had a banana and I used 1.5 packs of sports beans and I was wiped out.

What do you do for food after the race, today after 2:40 hours I drank a muscle milk that I had in my car, what should I bag check to eat after the race??

Umm, what is a core workout, do I find it on a dvd? Is it push ups and sit ups?

Here is what I did last half Jo:

Bagel or a sandwich round (can't remember which) with peanut butter and a banana pre-race, then I carried a 1/2 of a protein bar with me. Probably not a good idea if I was running, but I'm glad I had it. I brought it out at a water stop.

I can't say this will work for you, but a banana doesn't have enough calories alone for me. I hope this helps.
 
Thanks Amiee, the banana did not cut it today for me and I have been eating like craip all day.

I will try toast and peanut butter next weekend.

I really haven't read a lick since mid-week

I'll come back and catch up sometime I swear.

I really just don't have it in me emotionally or mentally right now. This has honestly been the worst week for me. I might be ready to talk about it a bit after the dust settles.

Until then I don't want to bring everyone down so I came to report the only shred of good news in my life right now:

I lost a pound since last weigh-in. It's only a pound, but hey, a pound is a pound...:upsidedow
