Mom brag alert--feel absolutely free to ignore--we're just SO excited here right now:
Ok, so just back from the Middle School Winter Concert. At the concert, they announced all of the kids who made State Band (no one knew before...the results were just sent to band directors today). So they named 5 kids from our school who made it. And didn't announce Riley's name, which actually surprised me. I expected him to make it. But then they said, "And this year, we have a first. For the first time, we have a 6th grader who was ranked first in the State...Riley Small for percussion!" OMG, it was AWESOME. He is flying high! He had *no* idea. And he so needs this right now. He needed some recognition for his efforts and wow, he got it.
Ok, back to race, weight loss, yadda yadda...

Kat can tell you about my drinking abilities.
But really - what a responsible 6 year old. She knew enough to think that the handle might be hot. And she was putting the fire out. And she screamed for help. All pretty good in my book.

Have to now actively work on food.
I had a great workout this morning, and tomorrow I have another session w/Erin for upper body strength as well as a short/mid distance run (4 miles I think?) so hopefully I'll see my body begin to react soon.
Oh dear. I hope tomorrow is better

And I didn't want her to freak out right on my trip report when it kicked in that "oh no" she missed me again. Laughing. Loudly.
