In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Kat, OMG I am dreaming of a quarter pounder.. I took the girls to McD's yesterday and I got NOTHING. I came home and eat a lean pocket.

Soooooo Glad the work day is over. Now on to the dreadmill..

I hope that I am not out of line by asking this, but did any of you want to plan a dinner or lunch or drinks after the race?

Nothing? Seriously, that is amazing! Way to go!!!

Ugh the dreadmill. Where are you with miles? You are running or walking the half?

Sure we will do something! What are your post race plans? You are down there with your family? I am really out of the loop, sorry!

My parents are saying they want to come see me...after the horror of that last year, I am just nodding and saying nothing.

OMG, I'm taking a thread mulligan. It's great to see everyone posting great goals and making updates.

I am SO JEALOUS of the Goddesses headed for the Princess. I hope to run it in 2012. More on that later.

Meg - well?

Kelly - C25K is a great starter. Good for you.

2011 will be my marathon year. I am going to Disneyworld in March. I'm going with my brother and his kids (9 and 7). First timers. He did the CP in '90, but claims to remember little. I am signed up for the St Louis marathon, April 9. If that works I want to do Chicago in October and Mickey in 2012.

By the time we go to WDW in March I will have completed a 20 miler. If I do that with something left in the tank I'll buy an AP. With an AP in my sweaty fist, I will feel justified thinking about Wine and Dine, Mickey and the 2012 Princess. These are my BHAGs.

I blew past my goal of running 600 miles in 2010 and finished with 819. 2011 I want to run 1,000 miles. I'm at 15 so far ; )

Ronda

:crazy2:
Tonight for dinner I had Fish & Chips. Real fish & chips from the fish & chip shop. You know why? Because I really really wanted them, so I got them.

I love fish and chips :lovestruc Of course, the last time I ate fish and chips I didn't feel so well.  Beer, bacon, fish & chips...yeah. Good times.

I have no excuse for the bacon, extra cheese, mayo, and olive oil though. 45 cals in the bacon, 60 in the cheese + 60 in the extra cheese, 110 in the mayo, and 45 in the olive oil. It more than doubles the calories in the sandwich from 280 to 600 and adds 30.5g fat.

:rotfl2: I think it's His-TER-ical that you calculated the calories :rotfl:

I hope that I am not out of line by asking this, but did any of you want to plan a dinner or lunch or drinks after the race?

Lunch? Dinner? Drinks? Lord knows I'm all about the food. Just don't sit near me if you value your fries ;)

Nancy, maybe she likes being ample. You know? Cause bacon and cheese is not a diet making.

I :lovestruc Bacon. And no. It is definitely NOT a lean protein :rolleyes1:crazy2:

And who the hell puts olive oil and mayo on a sub? Really. It's oil and vinegar or mayo, not both!

I know right? Like have a little fat on your fat.

My parents are saying they want to come see me...after the horror of that last year, I am just nodding and saying nothing.

oy. Last year my in-laws were in Orlando when I was there for the race, but there was no way they would try to come see me. Too much effort and they figured they wouldn't be able to find me in the midst of the race. And God forbid my FIL springs for a park ticket. Anyway...this year they are going to Pheonix instead of Orlando. No guilt :thumbsup2

wowza Ronda! Look at you GO!:cheer2: I love your race plans. Wine & Dine :lovestruc I'd love to do that one, but the timing is so, so hard for me.

I had to run a whole bunch of errands today and was out past my lunch time. I was super hungry so I opted to stop at Subway.

I did not judge the ample woman in line in front of me when she ordered her turkey sub on white bread. Nor did I judge her when she requested bacon and extra cheese. I refrained from rolling my eyes when the only veggie she wanted was "just a little" of the nutritional powerhouse called iceburg lettuce. I'm pretty sure, however, that I let out an audible gasp when she asked for extra mayo AND olive oil. :crazy2:

naturally she only wanted water to drink....

WOW. Not much else to say there, eh?

:crazy2:

I love fish and chips :lovestruc Of course, the last time I ate fish and chips I didn't feel so well.  Beer, bacon, fish & chips...yeah. Good times.

UM, YEAH...I seem to remember the bacon AND fish & chips in the SAME day!

:rotfl2: I think it's His-TER-ical that you calculated the calories :rotfl:

Lunch? Dinner? Drinks? Lord knows I'm all about the food. Just don't sit near me if you value your fries ;)

Fries, cookies, whatever....yeah, don't sit near Nancy if you actually want to eat what's on your plate! :rotfl2:

I think it's time for a Remember When post....

Like....remember when I walked all through the Magic Kingdom with sparkles on my a$$?!?!

or

Remember when we ran 13.1 miles and then didn't even shower and PARK TOURED for several hours?!?! And then partied at Jelly Rolls till 1:30 in the morning?!?!

or

Remember when Nancy and I just couldn't be bothered so we changed out of our race clothes right in the parking lot?!?!

GO RONDA! You are such a rock star! Yes, Jeff and I are talking about doing the Wine & Dine. I really want to do that one!

And Jo--yes, a meal or drinks or whatever. We're up for it all...and then some.

I forgot about the cookie! Stolen. From a child. :scared1::rotfl2:

remember when I changed my pants in the car? :lmao:

poor Jo. She has no idea what she's getting herself into

OMG, how could I forget?!?! "Hi, I'm Nancy...I just need to change my pants..." HA! :rotfl2: But seriously, at that moment I knew this was gonna be AWESOME! Because then I started talking about Sheila and you started talking about Emily and then I had to ask what the Big "R" stood for on the rental car! :rotfl2::lmao:

...and that made Nancy start laughing like hell...which then made her have to go pee...and that begins a whole new story! :rotfl2::lmao:

Yeah, Jo & Meg---you have NO IDEA. :thumbsup2

Ronda, rock star! I would love to do Wine and Dine too. Maybe this year. I always have an AP in my sweaty fist. :)

Remember...

When Amy and I walked back into Epcot, after the Princess, with :drinking1 in hand, before breakfast?

When someone came up to E and said, so, did you run a half mile?

When Amy and I just couldn't stop laughing (after getting back from JellyRolls at 1:30AM), even though we woke up poor EE?

When Nancy and E totally bullied every race official in sight to get back and watch the rest of us finish?

When Nancy sang "Love in an Elevator!" at the top of her lungs on Space Mountain?

...and that made Nancy start laughing like hell...which then made her have to go pee...and that begins a whole new story! :rotfl2::lmao:

yeah, well, it didn't help that I was "hydrating" :rolleyes1

Of course, we started out the weekend by looking for each other at the rental car counter. In different terminals :lmao:

:confused3:lmao: yeah. That's what we did.:rotfl:

When Amy and I just couldn't stop laughing (after getting back from JellyRolls at 1:30AM), even though we woke up poor EE?

When Nancy and E totally bullied every race official in sight to get back and watch the rest of us finish?

epic. totally and completely.

When Nancy sang "Love in an Elevator!" at the top of her lungs on Space Mountain?

that was the best. I laughed so hard it hurt :lmao:

Remember...

When Amy and I walked back into Epcot, after the Princess, with :drinking1 in hand, before breakfast?

OMG, that's right! They got beer at like 10:30! Of course, we had been up since 4....

When someone came up to E and said, so, did you run a half mile?

And then Nancy responded..."Yes...and then we got to the start line and ran 13 more..."

When Amy and I just couldn't stop laughing (after getting back from JellyRolls at 1:30AM), even though we woke up poor EE?

When Nancy and E totally bullied every race official in sight to get back and watch the rest of us finish?

We were RELENTLESS. Oh, the lies that were told...

When Nancy sang "Love in an Elevator!" at the top of her lungs on Space Mountain?

That was THE. BEST. Nancy sang (loudly) at every attraction. Even the ones that didn't have music...

And of course...we can't forget one of our favorites...

When we saw the 5k'ers coming back after their race and Amy said, "Yeah, that isn't a good medal. I don't run for sub-standard bling..." And it was totally the WAY she said it. Not b*tchy or anything. Just deadpan and matter of fact. OMG, so freaking funny!

4 am? Oh, how I wish. *Somebody* set their alarm for 3:15 if I remember correctly.

Remember Amy's free Dole Whip? Yeah, she totally worked that medal :thumbsup2 Glory wh0re

And OMG...when Nancy totally OUTED the girl from Corral E who was trying to get into Corral C?!?!

And of course, Nancy and I "dropped down" from our prestigious Corral A to be with our friends! How many times did we have to utter the phrase, "We're dropping down..."

Hey everyone, haven't read a word, not going to even pretend I did. Just wanted to share quickly.

Interview went amazing. They're calling my references before they even do the working interview and she already discussed with me what she thought she'd like to offer me in terms of salary. Had a great vibe from the director and was there for 80 minutes.

Work on the other hand was horrible. My boss cornered me on my way out to my interview and kept demanding to know what appointment I had. Finally I told her, yes looking back I shouldn't have but she kept at me. I asked her three times if we could discuss it when I got back(like I intended to do once I knew how I felt about the place) but she wouldn't let go. The whole center heard me because she wanted for me to walk into the hall where everyone could hear it. When I got back she was giving me a hard time about it and now she's giving me the run around about giving me time to go in for a follow up interview. We have extra teachers but she told me she's afraid people will be calling out sick. I'm going to stand my ground, she needs to give me some time off.

Ugh I'm exhausted but feeling positive about the interview.

Sounds like the lady I see....except she usually orders an extra huge gigantical collassal large....of DIET soda.

I am strange but I really don't like wheat bread at all. Subway, the white bread has 10 less calories than wheat. I try for the fiber part at home, so tend buy the white-wheat varieties.

If I were going to intake 600 calories, personally? I'd go for a Big Mac or Quarter Pounter, but that's just me.

Me, I'd be taking my butt to Chipotle. Not much for hamburgers, myself :)

Geez!!! CSI:NY started back in September for us. It's been a pretty good season so far.

I am completely and totally into the new version of Doctor Who right now...

Long day but so far I am on track. Heading to the gym after work, too, to try out the new shoes!! :yay:

Meg-so glad to hear your interview went well. Sorry your current boss is being so difficult though. Ty not to let her bother you too much.

Okay-G.I. follow up appointment. All of the biopsies came back benign and free of allergies or intolerancies. So that's a plus and rules out things like Celiac's disease. He seemed pretty set on IBS...until he started flipping through my file...

When I went in today they made me fill out a form saying all prescription and over counter medications I take regularly, just to have on file. The fact that I take iron supplements caught his eye. He asked why, and I told him, I've been anemic nearly every doctor visit I've ever had since I was 15. Even despite having a very hearty meal of beans once a week. It's just been normal to me. At this point he starts shifting from IBS to talking about inflamitory bowel disease. Most prevelantly, Crohn's disease. Diagnosis is usually performed at 15-30 years of age, and has very similar symptoms to IBS, with the additions of gallbladder problems (had mine removed), and iron deficiencies.

So in light of that, I have another colonoscopy to look forward to. This time, it'll be done in a hospital under general anesthesia. I'm happy to be knocked out this time...but not looking forward to the prep. But I agree that it needs to be done. He only got to look at half my colon before, and if there is Crohn's disease in there somewhere, we need to catch it now, as it's easier to treat in the beginning.

I've got to say, the prospect of Crohn's scares me senseless, as I know people who've had it, and know that is an incurable disease and brings along a LOT of complications. But a lot of it fits and makes sense.

So until the 25th, here's hoping I can stay relatively out of pain...and away from googling myself stupid over anything related to Crohn's disease.

My parents are saying they want to come see me...after the horror of that last year, I am just nodding and saying nothing.

I am going to walk/run the half I am up to 8 miles, Plan to do 9 this weekend.
I "tried" the treadmill last night and could only do 1 mile, it was late, I was tired I need to make dinner for my sick little girls.
(one has strep, the other a double ear infection)

Oh, my step mom lives in FL and she wants to come up on Sunday to see me, I am trying to find a very very nice way to stop her from coming.

OMG, I'm taking a thread mulligan. It's great to see everyone posting great goals and making updates.

WOW Ronda :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:
WOW Thats all I can say, you have done some serious miles!!! Way to go

Nancy and E you two crack me up I loved reading your posts. I can't wait to meet you all!!

Meg, I say you call in sick. I boss is a major a## as well. So I totaly know how you feel.

Cathie, Say Away from the computer. It will just make you crazy. Did the doc give you new meds?

Morning!

Hoping to get my long run in today. Stuck waiting for a furniture delivery, which will be here between 10 and 2. As long as they get here before noon, I should be able to go.

Have a great day, Goddesses!

Morning all!

Cathie My brother was diagnosed with with Crohn's at 21. (after being told by his first docotor that he might have stomach cancer. Very scary) It is an extremely managable disesease. My brother dropped in weight down to 110lbs before his diagnoses, he's now one of the fittest people I know and weighs 155. (we're a fairly short family) I know it seems very scary but they have made great advances in the treatment and I know my brother can et whatever he wants. And I should say I now know a number of people with Crohn's and not all of them have bad complications. I know a number of people who just take medicine and live a normal life.

If you find out that's what it is please feel free to message me because my mom has found some great information and support for Crohn's. In fact we all get a monthly email from our local Crohn's foundation.

Ok that was a lot to type on a phone. Be back later.

Yesterday was actually tracked. Not the prettiest, but I am getting there.

Gym was seen for the first time in months, as well. 15 min on elliptical, and the doctor-prescribed 20 min on the dreadmill with walk 4, run 1 intervals.

New shoes seem to be pretty good, and shin was fine (and feels fine today too), but my feet hurt by the end. I think that' s just the embarrassingly extra amount of weight, and having to be off my feet so much in Nov/Dec.

Hope everyone has a great day!
