In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Which reminds me....where is DWD? I am supposed to keep her honest! :rotfl2: C'mon out girl...whatever you are doing, we still love you!

Hi Gang....

OK - today has been interesting to say the least.... having a front row seat to a political scandal has been almost surreal. I work at the NY Capitol and that place is just abuz right now thanks to the extra curricular activities of our Governor....

- I got word of an interesting twist on the job front that could get me what I want without having to uproot my life. It is too soon to say where that is heading, but it is very promising to say the least...

- the best news was that I had my JC appointment and lost 5.5 pounds this week. I still can't freak'n believe it.... I don't know what I did last week because I didn't exercise any more (in fact, it was a little less than usual) and I had a few splurges along the way, but the diet gods must have been smiling on me or something....

Anyways

Sarah - thanks for the postcard from DL... it is now hanging proudly on my fridge to keep me moving foreward....

to our bride to be - congrats on the home gym... use it in good health and may motivation always be with you...

3DK - hope you find the exercise goodies you are looking for and let me know how the kickboxing class goes. The BL DVD I have has elements of kickboxing in it and I have liked it so far

Kat - congrats on the uber critical co-worker noticing the new body... can you send him up to see me... the guys in my office are just clueless and there are no women around to say anything....

Dawn - we miss you...

to everyone eles - we miss you too....

Hope everyone has a great night,
Goof

PS - I am off to look for my construction goofy... That will be a cute picture of me and him in our hardhats (although, I think I look like a bobblehead when I wear my hardhat...)

GRATS!!!!! :worship:  :yay:

OMG, Paula! Did you say 5.5 POUNDS????

Holy Guacamole, girl! That is AMAZING! Three cheers for YOU! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Add that to the huge numbers Kat is posting...and...The PEEPS ARE GOING DOWN in FLAMES this week! :cool1:

Heck ya! The peeps are going to expand under the heat... Kinda like the marshmallow ones do in the microwave... hehe...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I read that "yay for people noticing"...and I thought you meant noticing that she was bare a$$ed!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think I need some sleep....:lmao:

:lmao: :lmao:

Bride- tell us more about your Star Wars Guy. One morning a couple years ago my son was talking about light sabors and how cool it would be to have one (there were a bunch of diff. ones at ToysRUs). I had a couple at school for my various star wars games. He knew I had wanted a new one because a guest teacher friend of mine broke my favorite. I thought a second and said I didn't want one unless it was real. My son paused and looked at me, we laughed :lmao: I stared him down :rotfl2: :rotfl2: He laughed and laughed. The thought of Mommy packing a light saber. He knows I've got all the moves down. I told my kiddos at school about the milk flying and Beau :rotfl: :rotfl:
When we play Star Wars they behave, because they are afraid they'll lose an arm if they don't. Here is the image Mary Poppins with a light saber. I do want a pink one, the little light one from the gift shop at Tatooine. I am so tempted to get one at Once Upon A Toy. It just wouldn't be the same not to have a real one. I love the sound they make. To be trained as a Jedi. Maybe we could modify the kick boxing class :yoda:. I would like to live in the Lake Country of Naboo.
:flower3:

DH and I loooooove Star Wars... We are actually considering Star Wars tattoos... I actually went to high school with people who had never seen it!!! I about died when they told me... Funny that Star Wars got brought up tonight... DH and I were at Walmart in the Easter isle using the tubes of wrapping paper as light sabers... Luckily I used to work at that Walmart so the employees who work that section know of my antics and just laughed at us... It was pretty darn funny... :ewok: :chewy: :darth: :yoda:

Cool on the job thing!! Hope that it works out.

5.5 lbs!!! Kick-butt!! I am so happy for you. :goodvibes

My coworker is female. She is from India and either personality or culture seems to have dealt her a little less tact than your average individual. However, at least I know she is honest! :thumbsup2

Hi ya. I'm here, finally. Monday was the day from H-e-double hockey sticks. (Ode to Kat!!)

All that stuff about making time for yourself, somedays that's just impossible.

I need to go back a few and catch up.

Later

Just popping in to grumble....

I woke up with awful cramps this morning (TOM) and today is my long run! Ugh! This is so not gonna be fun... :sad2:

I have been following all the drama on the news...pathetic. I hope it isn't true but nothing would surprise me. :sad2:

More important than all that insanity...CONGRATS on the 5.5lbs!!!. YOu will certainly be in the top 5 this week.

Ugghhh! Motrin is my best friend on those days. I hope you get through your run without too much discomfort.

Funny story. My 3 yo son is in pre-pre school and they were asking the children different questions. Like, "name something that is blue", "something that is hot" etc. They asked Ian if he could name something that is cold. He got all dramatic and put he hands in front of him and said it gets cold when ghosts are near you.:scared: Yep, he watched an episode of Ghost Hunters with my DH. That's my boy!

I actually bought a stuffed Goofy just because he was wearing overalls, a hard hat, construction boots, etc and was carrying his lunch box and a roll of drawings. My sister saw it first and convinced me to buy it because it reminder her of me... I'll have to dig it out and take a picture of it (it got packed for my upcoming move). If I can figure out how to do it, I can make that my new avatar.... that would be too funny...

We got construction Mickey in DTD, in 2001. Remember when they had the home store, right by Rain Forest Cafe?

Anyway...

Goof- 5.5 lbs loss!!! You ROCK!!!! (eat it, peeps!)

Munky- 60minutes!!! You ROCK!!!!

Bride- 1st day of C2K!!! You ROCK!!!!

3DK- Tom Arrived!!! You, err sorry, that DOESN'T rock.

I like the D for Dedication. I know "you" (as a whole) are farther in the alphabet, but I forgot I was Alpa-inspiring, so I am going to use Dedication. So I can fit into those D@mn skinny shoes I bought! And you have to stay with me. SO, WE ARE ON D. (I prefer to think of myself as a leader, not a bully.)

I sucked over the weekend. We were snowed in and I ate like a Polar bear. But I am back on track this week. Somehow, I've got to stop myself from derailing.

OK..Gotta go. Love you all.

Yup, I did say 5.5 pounds.... even my JC consultant did a double take.... I think last week's weight gain was a bit of an anomoly... Looking back, I had drank quite a bit of water that day and the gain was probably water weight. Either way - I am basking in a five pound loss....

GRATS!!!!! :worship:  :yay:

I love my Polar watch! I got it after I started with my trainer and we completely changed my workout. I was working much to hard on the eliptical and burning out really fast. Once I got the watch and we could see where I was at we slowed it down and upped the intensity. I can go longer and burn more calories that way instead of killing myself.

It is also interesting that she didn't think I was burning enough calories or getting an areobic workout during water aerobics. Boy did I prove her wrong. Our instructor taught floor aerobics for years and then switched to water aerobics. She is from Australia and awsome in the water. She gets your heart rate up fast and keeps it there.

One thing to know about H2O aerobics, you have to keep your heart rate up. Once you stop, your rate will drop fast because of the water temp. It instantly slows way down. So keep on moving!

I am SORE today,I have no idea why. I did pick up the Biggest Looser DVDs yesterday and hope to start one today. My DH was a bum this morning so I wasn't able to get into it yet.

The Cardio Max dvd is killer... LOL! I did the warm up and about 10 minutes of part one and the cool down and I felt death upon me... LOL!

I am with you on the BL DVD's... I have one from Season 1 and it kills me everytime... I feel my muscles getting stronger, but it definitely is a reality check in terms of how far I have to go... At least the folks on the video are struggling like me....

Thanks for the info on the H2O aerobics... I noticed that I didn't feel like I had a good workout when I moved at the same pace as the rest of the group. When I keep moving at a good pace and keep my heart rate up, I am much happier. I am basically doing the water thing as a change of pace and to build a little resistence work in for my muscles. When I want a good heart pumping workout, I stick to my walk away the pounds DVD's or my Bigges Loser DVD.

Wow... I was looking at a BMI calculator. I dunno why but I did... I input my goal weight for right now which is 155 since that would put me at 100 lbs lost. For my height I'd still be considered medically overweight. I also put in 140 which is what I'd love to be at and thats barely considered normal. I don't know why this is so shocking to me. 109-146 is the range it says someone my height should be. I can't even imagine myself at anywhere near that low. I don't want to look skeletal. Ya know? Anyone else find these weights odd? I'm 5'4... not too short but not tall. Oh well just an observation I guess...

Dont feel too bad. The doctors tell me I should weigh 198 pounds. At 6'6" I just stared at him  ...He must have gotten the point because he called security on me ::cop: :lmao:

I was athletic in high school and didn't weigh 198 !?!?!?

I weighed in at 265 and thought I looked good. I had dates so I must not have been the worst looking person in the world.

Granted I have gotten older and added more fat and less muscle but still !!!!

I am with you Munky....these charts and doctors are made by those skinny biotches and they have an agenda to take us full figured gals...errr uh men down :lmao: :rotfl2:

Anyway keep the faith. If you would be happy at 150 then 150 it is !!!!:flower3:

Hey Sarah...yeah, I find these to be way low, too. But remember that some folks are ridiculously petite...light bones (not just small frame, but actually light bones...). WW online had my ideal weight to be 108 pounds (this was not the low end of the range as I am 5'2"...but what WW online said I should be!) Now, I have been thin. And I mean really, really ultra thin....size 1 and 2 thin...and even then I was 115-118. There is NO WAY I could ever be 108 and be anywhere close to healthy. My goal weight is 125 right now. I will likely be happy at 130 (particularly at the sloooow rate at which I am losing). Don't sweat the numbers. You know that you are doing great and making progress. And seriously, you are gonna be in ONEderland before you know it! Think of how great you are going to feel! :goodvibes

I had a GREAT workout as it turns out...I ran by best ever...5 full miles! Woo Hoo for me! Oh yeah, I am claiming goddess status this morning! I am still crampy and bloated feeling, but I am thrilled with my run!

Glad you are feeling better! Great job!

Sarah, I am with you. I am 5'8 and they say that 150 is the top of my range. Well, at 150 I am a solid size 8. My ultimate goal is 140-145, but I think that those charts are flawed.

And for men, even more so!! My husband is 5'10 and they think he should weigh like 160. I met him when he was 205 and I think that 190 is about as low as he should ever go.

I am so tired today. I did manage to go and get my 30 min on the elliptical done, and at least my shower was warm today. I am very sore from Sunday night's trip in the attic.
