In search of my body...not the one I ate!

On Friday I meet with my new running coach! I am totally psyched to work with this guy. He is designing a running program for me. We will meet and train once a week for 8 weeks, and he said he will have me race-ready for the summer! I am already registered for the Disney half in January, but I will need to do a bunch of smaller races before then. There are also two different halfs in Maine coming up...one in August and one in Sept., so I will likely do one of those. So, speed drills, time trials, and "long run" days, here I come!

My gosh. Your a machine!

I just walked/kinda jogged on the tm for 40 minutes. Usually I scroll thru songs that pump me up. Well, I was kinda lazy and just letting it play as is, so I was feeling a little lethargic after hearing Def Leopard sing about how Love Bites. Great song, doesn't do much for Burning Butt Buldge.

But the fitness gods were watching me and
"I don't think your ready for this Jelly,
I don't think your ready for this Jelly,
I don't think your ready for it,
Cause my Body's to Bootylicious for ya Babe" rescued me. How appropriate was that!

Ok, now for the walk of shame.

Here is what I shoved down my throat today. And yes, I realize there will be shock and awe.

Bkfst
-Sausage Biscuit from McDonalds
-McDonald Land cookies

So for breakfast, I'm already at 700 calories. I should stop here. But I didn't.

Lunch
-Single from Wendy's, no cheese. My shame stopped me from even checking the calorie count. (No fries.)

-Hershey's Cookie & Cream for snack.

I know. You guys are getting sick. I know. I know.

Super
-Homemade potato soup with dumplings (that I made for DH's homecoming) with roasted turkey breast sandwhiches.

I have to tell you. My tummy is UPSET. I think that might be the fitness gods too!

Accountablity SUCKS!

Welcome!! We are here for you. It is great to have another from the west coast. Where are you from in western Wa?
:flower3:

oops, sorry my two year old distracted me and I lost your thread :)

I am from Redmond/Sammamish area, where are you?

Ok, so just because yesterday was a bad day, doesn't mean that today has to be. It is a new day and you start over at 0 calories!

I have found that when I work out in the morning...(first thing...I drop the kids at school and then drive right to the gym)...then I have set myself up for the day. There is no way I am going to blow all of the rewards from a 4-mile run on junk. It was HARD WORK doing that run or that workout...I sweat and breathe hard and all sorts of things...no way I am gonna waste it!

The other trick that I use with myself (and for whatever reason this really works for me) is that the second I get up in the morning, I get dressed in my workout clothes. And just WEARING fitness clothes makes me FEEL like a fit person! Seriously, even on my "rest days," I will wear fitness clothes around the house for the half the day. (Remember that I work from home, so I have the freedom to do this.) And I find that when I am dressed like this, I make really good choices. I always reach for fruit instead of junk. I feel like a fitness guru and it just influences my choices. When I come home from the gym and am all sweaty, I will shower and then put on CLEAN fitness clothes! :rotfl2: And when I am cooking dinner, I just automatically make healthier meals, etc. It also works for other things...like if I have to go upstairs to get something, I RUN upstairs. I am just more active in little ways around the house. Weird, I know, but hey...whatever works! :goodvibes

Ok, so we today we have C-words...

How about CONTROL or COMMITMENT or COMMUNICATION (with us, or course! )

Have a great day everyone! I am off to hit the gym, do my run, and try this new fat-burning work-out that my trainer friend put together. Thank God I saved the DIS Unplugged Podcast for today!

DWD - Yesterday was yesterday and today is a new day... Today you will do better... As Sarah has said in the past keep looking forward. :cheer2: :cheer2:

3DK - OK, its official.... You are now my inspirational hero....:worship: :worship:

I am going to work on having your type of dedication to exercise this week...

Not much goign on here today.... it is meeting day for me, so I may be a little on the quiet side, but I'll catch up when I can.... Right now, I am off to get skim milk for my cereal. The grocery store has been carrying really yummy blueberries, rasberries and strawberries lately and they are a welcome change to the bananas I have had in my cereal for the last few months... I can't wait for spring to get here.... The produce selection improves so much during the spring and summer....

Talk to you all later,
Goof

Hi! I'm a new sweet person wanting to join your group! I'm not affiliated with UtahMama's Peeps in anyway!

I found this new diet I wanted to tell you about!

You eat things like this:
pastry1.jpg

and this:
pastry5.jpg

And STILL lose weight!
All you have to do is a handstand after you are done!
It's worked wonders for me!

Promise!

Erika, you are definitely a machine. I stand in awe.

DWD, it was very brave of you to post that... way to go!!

And you can do fast food, just look up the nutritional info or look on the board when you are there.

Wendy's single is actually one of the better things you can eat there. About 430 cals and that includes the mayo. Take off the mayo and it is 390. Add a small chili for an extra 220.

You can have a quarter pounder, no cheese, from McD's for 410. A McD's ice cream cone is only 150. 6 chicken nuggets, 250. Small Fries, 250. You can also choose a McChicken, no mayo, for 310.

Chick-Fil-A (if you have one ) is even better. Chargrilled chicken sandwich 270... small waffle fries 270...

You CAN do this, I know it. That is my C-word for today.

Well, that and c-rap... but that is another story entirely.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sorry--I am just hysterically laughing at the fact that Kat can rattle off the calorie count of every known food on the planet...with and without condiments, no less! :lmao: I guess you really DO have a head for numbers!

I know you don't have any kids, so you are probably not familiar with HSM (which is something I can rattle off...verbatim...the entire movie...both of them), but anyway, the main girl in the movie, Gabirella, is also called Freaky Math Girl....hmmmm....maybe that is what we should call Kat from now on! :lmao:

Back from the gym--did my 4 miles on the TM and felt really good! I could have kept going, but I knew I had a training work-out waiting for me, so I didn't want to be too tired, so I stopped at my usual 4. The workout was good...not killer, so that is good...I was really afraid that I wouldn't be able to walk out of the gym. Lots of stuff with the big ball. I tend to hate anything that includes the big ball. Hmm.....maybe this is indicative of larger issues...:rotfl:

That ball should have horns and a tail painted directly onto it.

I don't actually have all the numbers in my head!!

I download all the pdf files from each website and keep them in a handy folder on my laptop. I refresh the pdfs every so often in case menu items change.

Btw, I *am* known as the research queen. I hate being wrong, so I look everything up and research points heavily before trying to defend them, even in real life, but especially in places where people can quote me. ;)

And... what is HSM? :confused3

oops, sorry my two year old distracted me and I lost your thread :)

I am from Redmond/Sammamish area, where are you?

Port Orchard. It is so great to have someone near here. Munk is probably happy to have another one of us on the west coast too. Glad you found the thread again. List it under subscribed threads in quick links.

I'll get right on that... NOT!!! Man those Peeps are trying to play dirty... I'm gonna have to go over there Rambo style...

How is everyone today? My C words for today are calorie... as in tracking! We all should be accountable for our calorie tracking... Peeps as a rule need to eat more tho... and work out less... I hear that is a GREAT Peep diet :) :rotfl: Creative is also a good one! We can all be creative in our workout routines to Change them up. Also our Changing bodies are going to be Cellulite free!! We are also Courageous for undertaking this Challenge in our lives!!!! I didn't lose anything today but oh well... Keep moving forward!!!

Have a great day!

High School Musical!! I still haven't watched it yet but I do have it on dvd... LOL!

Port Orchard. It is so great to have someone near here. Munk is probably happy to have another one of us on the west coast too. Glad you found the thread again. List it under subscribed threads in quick links.
:flower3:

Yay for west coasters!!!

(Not to be cordial to the enemy or anything)
but you should all watch HSM ASAP!
I don't have kids either, but it's inffectious. I bought both the soundtracks.
Heh.

Aww celery... am I the enemy? But I think I am on the Peep team this week?

I am so confuzzled... :confused3

Kat- HSM= High School Musical
E- Thank you so much for your advice to DWD. It was great. Super job with your run and thinking about your training session. Drink water! I know, I know, mad face- but, drink your water!
DWD- Brave. Brave posting. Yes, I was getting sick just reading it. As Erika said- you start at 0 today. I hope your day goes great. We all have bad days and make choices that make us sick. Mine was palm oil Lemon Chalets yesterday.
Pixie- Welcome!
Dawn- sign me up for the challenge.
Sept.- Your waist looks great! You look like you've been doing crunches.
Goof- I'm with you on waiting for the fresh fruit. The Kiwis have been good, but I can eat only so much and I like them with STRAWBERRIES! Costco had them awhile ago, but they were pricey. No, I haven't been back to Costco. If I had just bought the expensive berries though I would not have had my mishap a few weeks ago. We are worth the good stuff!
Grump- We love you!! Keep us laughing, it is internal jogging!:yay:

Made a veggie soup yesterday, give it a try. Great for meals and snacks. It kept me away from the yummy creamy chicken noodle I made the day before :scared1: .
Read, Read, Read extra with your kiddos this week. Celebrate the Dr.. Seuss that is. Big B little b what begins with B. or are we on C right now?

Question- What is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?

My favorite is McGelligot's Pool, but I love reading One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish. and give it up for the Star Belly Sneetches!! I know, I miss my kiddos, but I don't have to dress up as thing one this year:rotfl: . I have seniority, so I won't be #2. Make green eggs and ham!

Did they show us creme brulee (sp?) today?

Kat - Freaky Math Girl = Funny.

3DK- exactly what balls are the issue here??;)

I need to order the current calorie counter. It's a little book with calorie counts for lots of fast food places. It was my bible in 2003. I got's to have my fast food. It's really non-negotable.

I'm impressed at all the "C's" coming out. When I try to think of something Clever, I am stumped. (Except for that. And that was really just a fluke.:confused3 )

We need to get some security over here. Kat, can you set us up?

I'll get right on that... NOT!!! Man those Peeps are trying to play dirty... I'm gonna have to go over there Rambo style...

Sarah

I posted broccoli!!! I'm not responsible for the actions of my minion, er, PeePs!

Peeps work out! Peeps are accountable for every bite. Peeps shirk fat and sugar.

Ideally. ;)

Everyone ready for the BIG weigh in tomorrow? :yay:
