In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Oh I joined this thread back around the time that Dawn started it in January. I was feeling really down on my weight loss efforts and decided that more accountability could only help, so I searched the WISH forums a bit more than I generally do. And I found this group, and they are totally awesome. So are the Peeps of course!!

:thumbsup2

Lori, welcome!!! I too have much to gain. I like that attitude. And I hear ya on the roller-coaster ride... I lost 42.5 lbs last year and gained 12.5 of it it back. So far I am about 7 lbs down for the year (after losing 8, then gaining 12 on a WDW trip). I still have about 35 to go.

This is a great group and we are glad to have you.

As a teacher, much as I like time off of work, we've already used all our days so no more bad weather please.

I have a lot to gain so taking weight off is so important. I want to gain more confidence, more freedom, more style choices, more mobility, more energy, better health, more respect, and more pride. That's just a short list of what I'm sure could go on for pages.

I'm really looking forward to becoming a really member of this group.

Lori

:cheer2: Welcome!:cheer2: I too am a teacher. We are here for you. Thank you for joining us.
:flower3:

Well here I go, I'm biting the bullet, but better that than the super size Snickers bar I'd rather be biting. I've been lurking on here for a while also and have gotten through about half the pages, some at the beginning and some at the end. My eyes got blurry and all the people and posts started to run together and I couldn't keep up with who's who and what was going on so I decided to just jump right in. I read someone else was hit with that lovely ice storm we just got too. As a teacher, much as I like time off of work, we've already used all our days so no more bad weather please.

Last year I lost 60 pounds, put 40 back on, but the good news is for the year I was down 20. So this year I started again, feels like such a roller coaster, I really don't like them anyways, and I want to get off at the end of the ride, goal that is. I digressed. This year I started with weight watchers in early January, and find it very manageable, but then after LA, most plans would be better. I've been off to a good start and lost 17 thus far, but sure would be nicer to share with others that are looking to gain all the right things.

I'm really looking forward to becoming a really member of this group.

Welcome!!! This board is great! If you need anything just ask :)

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I am 36 and have a ton of weight to loose. Well not a ton, but I sure feel like it! I have always battled a bit with my weight but really started to put it on when I was doing fertility treatments for my two little girls. I now have two beatiful daughters and the extra weight that came with it!

I worked with a trainer for 4 months last year and didn't budge a bit. So I started JC and hated it. Not that it wasn't good, I like fresh food and not pre-processed stuff! So I made the decission to change to WW and see if that would work. I went to my first meeting last night and feel great.

I went grocery shopping for a little bit today and took my little points counter with me. Wow, what an eye opener that was! Besides watching the points I am also watching the Trans fats and HFCS.

I am also trying to get back into working out. I had a 4 week stint of virtego that has knocked my on my highny. I am starting to feel better and am going to try and do a low impact video tonight to see if I can handle it and not fall over.

So I think that is about it. Can't wait to cheer people on and loose the pounds with the rest of you!!!!!!!

THIS is an attempt to make amends after Monica's food porn ;)

Don't worry, ladies...the 40lbs I just hit, that was my baby weight. She's 3 and half. For three years now I've been saying "By her birthday, I will have lost it" and now this year it's true! NOW I can say, "By her birthday I will be at or close to goal!"

What's that saying? Nothing tastes as good as thin feels? Whoo-hoo!
