In search of my body...not the one I ate!

I am not really thinking you guys were losers...just simply I am quicker than you...okay..that was backhanded...I am not quicker...just wittier...no that was just snide...
I am just saying...I asumed that you all would take the title...I have been gone for 3 hours getting Carsyn from the airport...and voila...a present to me! Not as good as losing weight...but I will take it!

I do love ya guys!! :lovestruc

But we ARE losers!!! On the scale! :rotfl:

See, this is why I don't make jokes. I'm punny!

I took it upon myself to be the official weight poster and I have FAILED...

I apologize to everyone.

I have had such a hectic couple of weeks I don't even know where to start.

I have gotten braces. I have had much training classes to conduct. I have been just too busy to even write it all here.

I promise to get everything up to date by the end of Sunday night though and post it.

Please forgive me ladies

So - do you think we should let him off the hook????

I am thinking we should as getting braces is not a fun exercise at all.....

Hang in there grumps....

Goof

Okay I finally have a moment to breathe. Man what a day! Not a bad day like Tuesday but one that wound up chock full of meetings and questions. On a good note, obviously my boss considers me competent enough to just throw me in the pool and assume I can swim. I have had other work experiences that weren't as good... female computer programmers are not necessarily common, and I have not always been treated so well.

One funny thing... my 3PM meeting was in another building that is a few down from mine. We moved in November and I hadn't been to that building since. I thought that you could just cut through the woods to get there... fast forward to Kat in dress pants and knee-high 2.5" heeled boots looking down at this gully going Holy Crap! I was already late for my meeting, so going around to the street was NOT an option! I did manage to make it down and back up in one piece and was only a few min late. I took the STREET on the way back!!

 I am so sorry. I hope that you can find something else that appreciates you, or get this place to figure out what a good employee you are. I have been there and it really, really sucks. My advice is that you gave the place 3 years, maybe it is time to see what else is out there that may move your career forward. After all, you have to look out for you! :goodvibes

Kat - Thanks for the words of encouragement. The company I work for really is one of the best in the industry and I would hate to leave them. I had a really good conversation with one of the executives today (outside of my immediate supervisor) and have come up with a plan of attack on how to change this situation. The good news is that I don't have to quit to see a change. The bad news is I may need to move out of the area for a year or two in order to see a change. Now I just need to figure out what I really want....

On the plus side, I managed to stay away from the sweets and eat somewhat sensibly today. I ate a little more bread at dinner than I should have, but am now planning on walking away those calories so all should be good....

Thanks again... and you are not a big lazy blimp as you say.... I have never seen a hockey player be a big lazy blimp.... so how can you be...

Okay, first, food for today:

Then, after the WW meeting, I went to the fancy-dancy specialty running store (where only the REAL runners shop....:rotfl2: ) and had the whole biometric foot thingy done in order to get the right type of running shoe for my foot. (Everything I have been reading about running says that having a properly fitted shoe by a specialty running store is critical...and that running shoes should be like a size bigger than your regular shoes, etc. All this stuff I had no idea about.) I bought me some new sneaks for my new running feet. Now, though, since I took the whole morning running around to meeting and shoe shopping, I don't have time for my run!:rotfl2: I am going to try and fit it in later today.

More to follow....(aren't you just thrilled at the thought??? :lmao: )

You do belong in the fancy-dancy running store. Way to shop! We are proud of you!! When you decide on a shoe, and have worn out a pair or two, check into buying them from Road Runner Sports or shoe buy. RoadRunner has a .com and a really big store in Portland Oregon. You'll get a better deal. My husband and I were fitted at a Jock and Jill in Seattle a few years ago and they outfitted him in a good shoe for his foot, but not I. I hope your new shoes are great, but don't be afraid to go back for help if they are not working. Take a look at the socks too. I like these ones from Nordy's, and they are great for WDW too. My cousin is working hard to one day qualify for Kona, I'll check out his array of running catalogs and mags. Ask around for a really good athletic podiatrist. A doc who works with orthos. maybe in the same office. So happy you got new sneakers. I put a pair of new outdoor running shoes on yestersay. I really feel like I can run faster and jump higher. Way to go runner. Happy that WW is better at your new location. I love snow, I love snow. I can't say it enough. The dry snow, not this wet stuff we once in awhile get here. I grew up in Eastern WA and the snow there is dry and beautiful. I envy your beautiful snow, but I can't imagine the cold. The cold here is wet cold that chills you to the bone. Yes, I would move to Maine in a heartbeat. There are LL Bean outlets, right??

Munk- Can't wait to hear about your trip when you get back!!

Grumps- Welcome back!!

Kat- You are beautiful!!

Our Beautiful Bride- Enjoy this special time! You will make good food choices.

Dawn- Please tell everyone again about the Disney Tupperware. The other thing is how great tupperware is for portioning out salads, veggie servings, fruit etc.
You know- we tend to count calories, fat grams, minutes and miles exercised, but we need to make sure we get fiber, servings of fruit and veggies. Tupperware helps us buy veggies, and keep them fresh. The snack cups are great, but I like the cereal bowls. I put a cup or more of frozen berries (usually blueberries or triple berry mix) in the morning into a cereal bowl-put the lid on and then at lunch slice a  banana  into it. The berries are thawed, but really cold (not Maine cold, but cold) and it is such a treat. This can be done the night before, in the am or a few bowls at a time. This is a great trick of ours when traveling.
Those sheerly elegant bowls look great for salads.I love the quick shake container, THE FRIDGESMART are the best for helping us eat healthy foods!, and just maybe some people might be able to drink water out of a princess or tink cup a little easier, or at least it might be fun. Yes, Mrs. Miller is known for her princess tupperware, I miss eating lunch with my kiddos. I always had healthy food in the tupperware. I want those Mickey Pops to make berry pops. I have a set of the plain ones and use them for WDW travel-Jewelry, Meds, vitamins, Q-tips (they are great for Q tips). You could even use the tray and have it set up. Yes, I can't wait to pack for a WDW vacation. Many months from now.

Sept.-Yes, you get to go shopping!! You go girl!

Susan- Hope all is going well

Bird- how is your Grandfather?

Goof- You are doing a great! Great attitude! Way to stay away from the treats.

Sept. -We are all losers!! Thank you for the encouragement:yay:

To All- Have a great weekend. Happy Leap Year!

Fun ipod tip- I have a couple :santa: Christmas songs:santa: added to my mix it makes me happy, grateful AND how much weight I will have lost by December!!!:santa:

Thanks, Heather! I am feeling great about my running progress! (Which is why, of course, I lavish myself with rewards of running gear! :rotfl2: )

Kat--awesome pic! You look great!

Grumps--Welcome back! We missed you. My DH got braces a few months back...I feel your pain! I think it is WONDERFUL, though, that you are doing that for yourself! :goodvibes

Goof--Way to go on both the job discussion and the good choices! :thumbsup2

Sept Liz-- thanks again for the tons of advice and info. you keep passing my way! You are a God send for me!

Dawn--you'll get your tupperware business back on track in a heartbeat--not to worry! You know exactly what you need to do. I am sure it is overwhelming right now, what with living with a giant turd and all...:lmao: Just keep coming back and posting...we all love you no matter what. :grouphug:

Ok, after talking with several folks about WW, the consensus is that I am not eating enough food. I LOVE hearing that! Sign me up and bring it on! Ok, I will increase my caloric intake. It is counter-intuitive, but what do I know?

3DK - Good for you going out and buying running shoes, I'm doing that today after I meet my florist for the wedding!

Goof - that's good news! I'll cross my fingers for you, good luck moving up up up!

Kat - WHO iS THAT HOT SIREN IN THAT PICTURE!

Grumpy - so this is the mystical grumps i've heard about! I hope the braces aren't hurting you too bad! I had a horrible time with them, but thats because i was a big old WUSS. Glad to see you around! :)

I think things about this wedding are starting to get to me, last night i was having dreams about mutant orchids chasing me out of the ceremony :scared1:

I'm crossing my fingers that i will be good today, i have to eat both breakfast and dinner out, and there will be birthday cake! I think i may get hima a chocolate one so i CAN'T eat it, there's an idea! THen it's off to buy running shoes!

Everyone have a great day, and keep up the good work! :yay:

I found this amusing. Dawn, I totally "Get" your humor. You are SO-SO-SO appreciated. (And I'm not a big turd.)

I dunno know Grumps. You only come when it's convienent for you. You don't call first. You know, a girl will only put up with around 1000 pages of partial committment for so long...;)

Brave and Beautiful.

I can't wait to start wearing boots again. The heals just do me in anymore with my extra fluff.

Kat - another question. Do you have dinner with Mr. Kat each evening? Obviously you are cooking every night, how does he feel about all these meager, calorie saving meals?

I think you look great in your picture!

It's so funny, you are one inch taller than me and heading for the same goal weight - you just have a head start! It's nice to see that 15 lbs less means a size 14...I have been trying to count this in my head, as i look forward to trips and things planned. Like, when I go here, what size will I be? It keeps me motivated. Its nice to watch your progress, a few steps ahead of me!

I am the thinnest I have been since I got pregnant in late 2003...so I can say the baby weight is finally off, and now it's just for me! When I started this, in late October, I only wanted to be a 14, or maybe a 12...and now I'm not stopping at anything less than a 10 and I have dreams of an 8! (Which would be super skinny for me!) My height has always hid my weight, but now I don't want to settle, I want it all!

Good morning, Babes! Happy Week-end! We are in the midst of yet another blizzard...up to 15" today! AAARRRGGGHHH! Our snow pack in the front yard is already 46"!!!!

I found this amusing. Dawn, I totally "Get" your humor. You are SO-SO-SO appreciated. (And I'm not a big turd.)

Ditto! I totally get and love Dawn's sense of humor! Makes my day! I truly laugh out loud at the computer!

I dunno know Grumps. You only come when it's convienent for you. You don't call first. You know, a girl will only put up with around 1000 pages of partial committment for so long...;)

:lmao: :rotfl2: HYSTERICAL! :rotfl2: :lmao:

This is definitely what I do as well...hmmmm, today is March 1st, so by April 1st I will be....
...and by the time tennis starts up again I will be..., which means I can wear...

lol--I have made a whole art form out of it! :lmao:

My height has always hid my weight, but now I don't want to settle, I want it all!

Ok, you are dead to me now. :rotfl2: My height has always been a factor in my weight! At 5' 2", 5 pounds looks like 15 and so on...you can only imagine what this 30 has looked like... :sad2:

Ok, since it is so god-awful here right now, I am posting pics of WARM weather and locations! This is a feeble attempt to help me believe that spring WILL come and we WILL get to WDW soon!

AUGUST 2007 - This is my 3 kids tubing on the lake behind our boat....

AUGUST 2007--And this one is dh with our youngest dd (yeah, notice his arms...his muscles are huge...)

AUGUST 2007--And this one is just for you, Goof! :goodvibes

AUGUST 2007--Ah, Animal Kingdom...I chose this because it is the HOTTEST of all of the parks! :rotfl2:

AKBugEyes.jpg

MAY 2007 - And this is THE REASON I am so committed to losing weight right now. I have been to WDW so many times and Figment is my favorite. And in all of those trips, this was the first time I got to see him! But I was heartbroken when I saw this picture. This is me at my worst. :sad1: It doesn't help that I had a horrible hair cut and it was early May so I had no tan and no highlights in my hair either...but it is the weight that kills me here...

MAY 2007 - The whole family

AUGUST 2007 - The whole family again...this time I am looking a bit better. End of the summer...better tan, better hair, and a few pounds lighter. And far less stressed....read next post. I am also in my professional fat girl pose here...when in doubt, cover yourself up with a kid!

ProfsfamilyatDisney.jpg

Later today I will try to get some pics of me now so you can see my progress at the "half way" mark.

Hope these SUNNY photos help all of us that are in snow country feel a bit warmer!

I am posting one last photo, if you will indulge me. As I have mentioned, my youngest, Kelly, has been battling renal failure for about 3 years. In May of 2007 (right after that trip in the pics) she had her left kidney removed. (And this is why May of 2007 was my heaviest weight and why I looked my worst here...I was stressed beyond belief here...the whole family was. That is why we went to Disney right before her major surgery. We all just needed to be in a good place going into that operation.)

While she has been doing great, it looks like she may be in for a rough road ahead...some complications are popping up. So I am posting this pic of my angel so that you can all see how precious she is and that nothing bad should ever happen to this kid! :goodvibes

OK. As far as:
Hubby: yummy. I'll bet 100 bucks your having better s*x now that your gaining confidence and losing poundage.

The difference in you, between the two pictures: You do look better in the second. But I have to say, you're wearing shorts and your legs look good. I hate the way my thighs seem to hang over my knees. You don't have that problem.

Later today I will try to get some pics of me now so you can see my progress at the "half way" mark.
PULEEEEZE do. I need an injection of hope.

Does your husband enjoy going to Disney too, or just go to humor you?

She is beautiful. Of course nothing bad should ever happen to her...she will be in my prayers. I will ask my Emily to pray for Kelly when she prays for my mom, I think kids have God's ear. :goodvibes

You have a gorgeous family - your kids have their mom's amazing smile. It's so nice to see pictures of my friends!

Wow you guys were busy this morning!! I am a lazy-bunny and just got up.

Kat - WHO iS THAT HOT SIREN IN THAT PICTURE!

Blush...

Oh, I used to have CRAZY wedding dreams... showing up in a blue dress... missing it all together...

Brave? Because of the boots?

I always wear at least a 2" heel (except for WDW and the gym)... makes me 5'10 but I don't care.

I don't have dinner with Mr Kat very often, no He works a lot of nights and I am usually on my own. However, he is also doing the same calorie restriction (has lost about 15, 40 or so to go), so the nights that we do coincide he is happy to eat the low-cal meal.

Although, I do try to pack as much food as possible into my meals. They may sound meager but I try to make it so I fill a whole dinner plate, just that most of it is veggies.

I think you look great in your picture!

It's so funny, you are one inch taller than me and heading for the same goal weight - you just have a head start! Thanks!! :goodvibes Really, it means a lot. I struggle a LOT with body image.

I so relate to height hiding my weight (sorry 3Dis!). I want to be a 10 too, which for me is about 150-155. An 8 is 140-145, which is my ultimate goal.

Ok, since it is so god-awful here right now, I am posting pics of WARM weather and locations! This is a feeble attempt to help me believe that spring WILL come and we WILL get to WDW soon!

Okay, beautiful pics. Your hubby is HOT!! And you are so pretty... what a pretty smile.

Your angel is gorgeous. I hope everything works out for her, what a little sweetheart. It breaks my heart that she has had to go through all this.

Oh, and Dawn, another vote for your sense of humor.

And grumps... :yay: for coming out of the woodwork!!
