In search of my body...not the one I ate!

.....But the funny thing is...it didn't last nearly as long as we thought it would. Now, just a few years later, we are doing MUCH better than most of our friends. Why? We did it smartly. We didn't over-extend. We didn't buy the large SUVs just to keep up with the Joneses. We didn't put our kids in the chi-chi private schools (and now that they have transferred their precious cherubs from their precoious private schools into the public school where our kids are....guesss what? Our kids are WAY ahead academically! Sorry for the tangent...proud mom moment! :lmao: )

And you, my dear, are doing it smartly! And really...for us it seemed to happen quite quickly...all of a sudden we looked around and said, "Hey! We're here! We made it to the place we wanted to be and we are not drowning in debt!" So...stay the course! You are doing it the right way and eventually it will pay off BIG TIME! Until then... HANG IN THERE!

Now if we could just get someone that fiscally responsible in government....;)
(backing away slowly from the political topic....that can be such a sore subject for some... :rolleyes1 )

Ok, it is after midnight...that means that today is the day that I face the SCALE! :scared1: Of course, I am going to wait until morning to do that! ;)

And you know...I think I am ok with it. I am ready and I know that it is only a number and not my self worth. Still, I am hoping for below a certain number...and I know if I am in that range, I am going to be over-the-moon ecstatic. And if I am above...well, I am hoping I will just keep going strong the way I have been.

I will report in at some point tomorrow morning. I have to go to all 3 kids' Valentine's parties in their classrooms plus do my morning run....so it will be closer to noon when I report back...but I WILL report back! :goodvibes

Happy Valentine's Day! And those single right now...the most important love on this day about love is love of SELF. :grouphug:

3DK - We are all there with you when you hop on that scale... It is just a number and you are now in control of what direction that number is going to go next week.

We are here if you need us.... :grouphug:

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Bird & Goof- Thank you. This past principal harassment and after the student assault last fall, my body has had it. Therefore, my strength isn't in as much full force as usual. I'm strong. I am spinning right now, but I'm attempting to get my bearings. Your thoughtfulness and kind words are appreciated more than you know. I need a pick me up and this board is here for me. Thank you!

Anytime... It is sad that anyone would have to work under such conditions. You will get through this and we are always here for you when you need us.

So far, so good today. And work has calmed down a lot so that is a good thing.

Estimated my taxes, though, and looks like I will owe this year. Boo.

Ohhh, booo! The rugrats ensure that I will get something back but pre-kids we always owed.

September, glad you are feeling better about your friend.

Man, I need to use you as my inspiration. Great job!!!

I am almost done packing. I hate packing. But I am confident I can do well this weekend and be healthy!

Have a great trip!!

Thanks everyone!!!

I did have a snack, a 100-cal pack of hostess cupcakes. Did you know that they have FIVE grams of fiber!! :yay: Plus super yummy, and I think 2g of protein. Sort of makes me wonder what is in there, but hey, I'll take it! They came out w/ cinnamon coffee cake 100 cal packs too, same nutritional content. I have been eating them for breakfast, although today was a Bacon/Egg/Cheese lean pocket.

Stupid, stupid, STUPID me forgot the tickets to the game I am going to tonight, so I have to go home and get them at lunch. Unfortunately that is an hour round trip but I don't have a choice.

We don't celebrate V-day and he has to work anyhow, so I am going to a hockey game tonight with a friend. I packed healthy lunch and dinner and my jeans/jersey (work has a dress code) and my gym bag and was all good until I was halfway to work and realized about the stupid tickets. Which means no gym at lunch.

Anyhow, hope everyone has a great valentine's day, and I love you all.

Quick update:

My grandfather will have surgery on his wounds either Friday or Monday. They are waiting for there to be a better delineation between the dead and healthy tissue. They will not be putting him under to do this because he is too weak. His broken neck seems to be causing pain in his legs but they are not completely sure the two are connected. He refuses to eat the hospital food and they have yet to get him out of bed. He will probably be moved to a nursing home sometime next week to start some kind of rehab.

Anywho, I am down 1lb for the week. I am not surprised since I haven't made it to the gym because of me knee. It is feeling better so I will be back to it on Monday.

Thanks for the update on your grandfather. I am thinking of your family as you go through this. My gram didn't like the food either so we started bringing in things we knew she would eat so that she would be eating something.... good luck...

Sarahprincess:

I do tuna melts this way:
1) 100-calorie English muffins. I split two of them per person and toast them lightly in the toaster.
2) 1 can of tuna per person, 1/2 TBSP of light mayo, and salt and pepper, and make tuna salad from it.
3) Preheat oven at 350. Put all muffin halves on a cookie sheet and top each w/ tuna mixture. Bake for about 6-8 minutes, then top w/ some shredded 2% cheddar and bake until cheese is melted.
About 350-400 calories total for 4 muffin halves (depends on how much cheese and mayo that you use)

That sounds yummy... DH isn't worried about calories so I dunno if that would be enough to feed his skinny a**. I would love to have to worry about eating a lot of calories... LOL! :rotfl2:

Thanks so much! Knowing that I was going to report back here...good or bad...really helped!

Ohhh, booo! The rugrats ensure that I will get something back but pre-kids we always owed.

UGH! We have three little tax deductions and owed a small fortune last year! I hope we get better news this year!

You can do this and I bet that you are going to be pleasantly surprised...

Thanks for your support!

What a great attitude! And it's true, it's only a number. Still, I hope you get what you want today!

It is funny....I really thought that I would panic or chicken out...but this morning I just took it as fact and was prepared for the results...whatever they may be. Sure, I was hoping to see certain numbers (and NOT see others...:rotfl2: ) but the time has just come. I need to know if my program is working, etc. You can't see a 2 pound loss in a week...so it is time to track it with the scale!

Hang in there and keep reporting back. Even though it is hard for you to see him in pain and unhappy, he ultimately in the place he needs to be in order to heal.

OK...as for weigh-in day...I DID IT! I got on the scale! Which alone is a victory for me regardless of what the numbers said. My ultimate hope was to be under 140 pounds. (Again, I am really short, so any amount of weight on me really shows. My goal is 120--which actually may sound high for someone my height, but I was 120 for years and was rail thin. According to WW, I should be 108.5 :scared1: But I had a terrible injury and illness many years ago and dropped to 114 and looked AWFUL...totally anorexic looking and unhealthy. So 108 is definitely not a reality for me and never will be. At 120 I look and feel FAB, so that is my ultimate goal.)

Not sure why the 140 number is so important to me...I just had it in my head that I wanted to be under that. Maybe because then I would have less than 20 pounds to lose and that sounds so manageable??? :confused3

So, I got on the scale...didn't even squeeze my eyes shut...:lmao: and the scale said 143. Ok, so it is above 140, but I am ok with that. I should be under that 140 mark pretty quickly...it is in my sights. I'm good.

But then I got to thinkin'....um...how do I know the scale is correct? I mean, I haven't used this thing in almost TEN years! It isn't even a digital one. I am also on the last day of AF's visit, so does that have an impact??? See...all these things I don't know since I haven't weighed myself in so long! :rotfl:

For now, I will accept that it is accurate. My mom has a scale that she says is accurate...but of course, I want to weigh myself first thing in the morning, and I sure as heck am not going to zip over to her house at 6 in the morning all neked..... :rotfl: :lmao: Maybe I can bring her scale to my house for a few days or something like that...or heck, just go buy a new one.

Ok, so the wait is over. Thanks so much everyone for supporting me through this! It really helped knowing that I was going to come here and everyone would be supportive no matter what the number was! :grouphug: Thank you for that.

143... :goodvibes

I know that this doesn't help you, but you have no idea how incredible, totally, absolutely thrilled I would be to see 143 on my scale. I think I would dance the 25 miles to work rather than drive. Granted, my goal weight is about 145. I am 5'8" so 140-145 is downright thin for me. Right now I am somewhere around 185 (will weigh tomorrow AM).

Acutally, considering height difference, that may put us at proportionally about the same general size.

That being said, 23 lbs is totally doable by the summer or even sooner. We will be here to support you totally along the way.

It's funny, you fear the scale, and I have a complusive need to weigh every morning. I have been trying to break myself of this habit and haven't weighed since Monday.
