Hehe... glad I'm not the only one who thought that had a hint of innuendo.. LOL :lmao: Speaking of things in user CP how many posts to be a DIS Veteran and who changes the tags? Sorry to be off topic with that one :)

Good morning to you all:flower3:
I like how some of you post what you are eating. It not only keeps you on track it gives me idea's of different foods to eat. My doctor always told me writing down what I eat and drink during the day would help me lose weight. He must be right.

I like reading what other people eat as well. I find it really interesting actually, that we are all here in an attempt to achieve the same things, yet our approaches can vary so widely. Just goes to show that it's worth it to keep on trying until you find just the right combination for you! :woohoo:

As for me - I'm still on the "Jillian Michaels plan". There are now 3 of us at the gym I go to who are doing it together - and a number of women who just look at us like we are completely INSANE! We've invited them to join us, and there are a few who look like they are tempted..:sunny: We'll keep working on them....:rolleyes1

Whats the "jillian Michaels plan"??

Whats the "jillian Michaels plan"??

Jillian, the kick a@@ trainer from Biggest Loser  Jillian has a website (www.jillianmichaels.com) where you can sign up for her daily work outs and food plan. I have a feeling that it's very similar to the "Biggest Loser Club" site, which is pretty much Bob's deal I think. It's very much a sensible plan - eat balanced meals, snacks- workouts are planned for 5 days a week - and the circuit training has really given me the shake-up that I needed.

Except - my only problem right now, is I suffer from plantar faciitis :sad2: and I seem to be having a bit of a recurrance. :headache: I'm working on all those things that the PT folks had me do the last time around - so hopefully it'll get better soon without much inconvenience to my lifestyle!

ah ok... got it... Why do people look at you funny?

well - it starts with a long sad story :sad1:

But the short, sweet verison is this: On Christmas Eve, the gym that I had been going to for the last 8 years, suddenly closed :sad1: It was this great place, where everyone was like a big, fun, welcoming family. We all really loved working out there! Now a bunch of us are at a different gym - and it's like a LIBRARY! (which is nicer than saying a morgue, which is how I really feel :goodvibes ) SO - when these loud, nutso ladies come in and start running around like chickens with their heads cut off :yay: and making lots of noise  well, some of those people just don't like it :rolleyes1

(I think it makes them realize that they are just slackers who are drifting aimlessly thru a routine without any real effort  these ladies don't ever even break a sweat! :confused3 EVER! ) I mean - the looks I got when I called across the room to my friend who was whining to remind her that "As Jillian said on BL - if it's not uncomfortable, nothing is going to change"

They just all think we're nuts... but hey - at least we're having fun! :woohoo:

...

Breakfast: 1/2 cup non fat cottage cheese (62 calories according to SparkPeople tho I question this because the packaging says 80)

...

Sarah, what I do with that is make my serving size equal the calories that the packaging states. I trust the packaging over sparkpeople, although I don't trust either enough, so that is why I keep my calories at or below 1200 to allow for possible mislabelling (... or underestimating portion sizes!).

:rotfl2: :rotfl: spot on, Paula! Great recap!

And a HUGE WOO - HOO for you. 4.2 pounds gone FOREVER!

You are amazing! That is a great loss and you SHOULD be jumping up and down! I am jumping with you!

As I have said before...my issues with DH are there...I have just shared some of it and I am sure the rest will come out with time. Mostly, I just don't feel like typing that much...I need a lazy, sleeping smiley!

Basically, though, our marriage is good. He is a wonderful provider (really takes it seriously), is a huge help around the house doing more than his share of chores, and adores the kids and truly enjoys being with them. All good things. The down side is that he is a total perfectionist (not just about himself but about everything...me, the kids, the house, weight, and everything else under the sun), and that is just plain hard to live with.

You may remember a looooong while back on this thread when one of us posted that her DH going out of town and she was actually relieved. This is how I feel, too. Again, our marriage is in pretty decent shape, but it is often exhausting to live with his standards and so when he goes away on business, I feel like I can breathe for a while.

Here are some examples....as you all know, I am super proud of myself for running (just finished my 5k for the day! :cool1: ). So, the day when I ran 3 miles for the first time, I came bounding in the house...just so proud I was bursting...and his comment was, "Now you need to work toward 5 miles..." And DS came home with a test score...again, very happy..."Hey, I got a 98!" And of course Dad's response was, "That's good...let's shoot for the 100 next week." And it is like that about everything! It drives me nuts. :scared:

Don't even get me started on the house...:faint: He is OCD to the Nth degree. Every spec of dust, every finger print on the window or counter...he can't stand any of it and is usually loud in his displeasure. (And remember, we have 3 young kids....kids come with mess...it is a package deal.)

For example, in the warmer months when I pull in the driveway and see their little bikes strewn around the driveway or the yard, I smile...I think, "Great! They were riding and playing outside like kids should do an a beautiful day...." DH, on the other hand, will drive in and pitch a fit b/c the kids didn't clean up after themselves. :sad2: What upsets me the most is that it is totally affecting the kids. They now run in a panic when it is close to the time when he is coming home...."Guys, come on....we have to pick up our bikes before Dad sees them!"

I know this sounds like he is a tyrant and that really isn't fair. He is silly and makes me laugh all throughout the day. He is a marshmallow when it comes to cuddling with the girls. :lovestruc He makes fires in the fireplace on Sunday afternoons so we can all sit in the living room together and have family game day. He is the assistant chef to DD (5) when she uses her Easy Bake Oven. :cutie: All very sweet and good and kind.

Right now I am committed to working on ME. Once I feel like I have myself back, then I am going to work on my marriage. Honestly, I think he needs medication for the OCD. It is that bad. However, he will NEVER take it. Due to the whole body builder part of him (also part of the perfectionism), he doesn't put any medication in his body. Not even aspirin, etc. But I am pretty sure I can get him to agree to come to counseling where we can talk about some of these issues. I worry that the kids are going to be neurotic after a few more years of this...:sad1: And I truly belive that once I am happy with myself, he and I will be able to work on being happier together. And fortunately, we don't have far to go. If I had to grade our marriage right now, I would give it maybe an 83%. It's good, it's solid, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Ok, so that is the bulk of it. Thanks for reading. I think it was good for me to get it out. :grouphug:

Aww sweetie... believe me, I understand this COMPLETELY. You have no idea how much.

okay grumps, now post for real!!

Dawn, I will kick butt for you anytime!

Snow, thanks! I just signed up for Jillan's website.

I also need help changing color and lines on my Avatar!!

You want me to do WHATo to your WHO?!?!? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

For Dawn and Sarah- you cannot add color to the saying on your Avatar...those funny or weird phrases that are there in color are placed there by the Tag Faeries! What is a tag fairy? Well, there are numerous threads that discuss this exact phenomenon, but basically....when you say something really funny, endearing, or more likely...embarrassing...suddenly POOF! :wizard: there is in your avatar. Placed there without your even knowing it by the tag fairy!

I have three right now...and if I say something worthy of bumping one of them, then I will get a new tag.

Tags are coveted and sought after here on the DIS. Definitely a BIG deal if one is bestowed upon you. Now, the TF does like the WISH boards, so I suspect he/she will stumble upon your hiliariousness soon. Also, the TF is most often sighted on the Community Board.

As for your signature....recently there was a new sig limit rule imposed, so that is why your signatures have to be all in one horizontal straight line as opposed to deep.

When you go to edit your sig, just line all of your stuff up in a row with just a space bar tap between them (instead of hitting enter). :flower3:

Hey everyone,

Once again, I have not been able to get on the DIS boards - and I'm not getting my emails from this thread! :sad2: I hate missing out on everyone's posts!

Oh my, so much to read. :surfweb: Need to start catching up before I leave on Thursday - to Dawn and Jodi and thank you, thank you for the replies about my friend and her comments. I think she is really afraid of my success - she has had "I'm thinner than Liz" to hang onto for the last few years. As others things went wrong, she still had that. She goes to the gym, she thinks she knows more about nutrition, her husband is more fit than mine...but I am happier. I am going to try to look at her with compassion and share less on this improvement front. It makes me sad not to share it with her, but I am glad to have all of you to share it with. Now, time to make dinner and catch up on your lives!

I had a funny story to share about our water aerobics workout that Jodi and I shared today...

So there is this OCD crazy lady that works out like Richard Simons bred with Ozzy Ozborne. She is maybe 125 pounds and I see her all over town working out like a mad woman. When I did Curves she would do 2 circuits and leave...sometimes only a 1/2 a circuit...then she would keep on running...like Forrest Gump without the land trek accross the US....only she stays in our town....and runs...and runs...8 miles at least a day. She is so over excersized that she is hunched over and looking like she is going to die at any given opportunity but she will not let God take her because she won't stop running. :lmao:

So she comes to the pool...and she starts the whirlpool...walks past us and starts the shower...showers...hopefully  and then gets in the pool. Now at this point Jodi leaves...(she is still having dipstick discomfort from her filter and valve replacement yesterday :scared: ) and I am stuck with your friendly neighborhood quack.

She proceeds to do a lap...then swim in circles like a duck looking in the water...I assumed she was missing something but that would be too darn simple...she taps the ladder...swims in a tight cirlce again and then does one more lap. :fish: then gets out....gets in the hot tub for 22 seconds...I did count....and then she heads into the shower...which she left running the whole time.

I know Jodi explained she is a lawyer...can you imagine her in your court...on your side...you better hope the judge doesn't ask a question because her attention span is that of a cucumber...I guess she even has a wig she puts on so she does not have to take time to do her hair...

I am not joking that she was in and out and done in 10 minutes... maybe... including getting into her black suit that I thought looked like it had been eaten by a shark ( the side bit out and raggedy from front to back with only 6 inches connecting the top and bottom) but then I realized it was just an old torn suit that she still wore. Probably doesn't have time to run to a store...

I beat her to the parking lot and her car was out there...running to stay warm...cause she is a freak like that.

We also have a runner lovingly reffered to as Monkey Man in our town...Marathon runner...but if he shaved his back and ran upright...he might not look like my "Planet of the Apes" lunch box I had in 3rd grade. This dude has hair that grows on the end of his hair...it branches out like ivy...maybe he got hair extensions...I do not know but Rapunzle on your back is not attractive...maybe he could get a nice french braid...or dreadlocks...would they then become backlocks...??? :hippie: I wonder how much shampoo he uses to wash it and if it is soft because he uses a nice conditioning rinse. Maybe he asks his wife to brush it...maybe it grows because she brushes it...like Mary's hair on "Little House on the Prarie." I wonder if he has ever permed it...or tried to lighten it with Sun In and experienced orange hair highlights...I bet he wears one size bigger clothing to accomodate his back fluff...he has a fluffy back...not SBF 3 Dis Kids....Does he look in the mirror and ask...

"Does this hair make my back look fat??? Huh??? Do I have fat back hair? Can you tell I am on the Antigain hair loss for Monkey Hair treatment program??? I am down 5 tufts in only 3 weeks! Soon I and my back will fit through revolving doors and I won't have to worry about the unpleasant horror of getting trapped in one when it catches my neck hair which is currently over my coller and 1/2 way to my shoulder blades. I mean do you know how embarrasing it is when the ride attendant says one at a time in the turnstile...and it is just you...and your back hair? I mean I have to pay for an extra airplane ticket because my back hair takes up the seat behind me and then you have to deal with the stewardess rolling over it with her drink cart!" :rotfl2:

Dawn, :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . And yes, I read that. Nekkid and typing again, I see. :)

S: 1 cup special k redberries (110), 1/2 cup ff milk (40)
Total, 1120. Exercise, 40 min on arc trainer and 100 crunches on the ball (50 straight up, 25 on each side). Water, 64 oz.

;) Hola...me llamo es Dawn y yo es muy intelligente y muscalares!!! ;)

I am off with a busy day getting work accomplished but will post my food from yesterday soon....am in search of a special deli food total that I had yesterday...that I can't find on the web and will call the grocery store itself to track down... :3dglasses

I did well and am feeling better...taking antibiotics I have saved from previous run in's...and so far...am down 2 pounds from last Friday...so I am on the right path for this weigh in!! :woohoo:

I forgot to mention earlier to SeptemberGirl's dillema with her friend that was being jealous...that a true friend is someone who is happy you are experiencing things they are not...simply because you are an extension of themselves...and thus when you are happy...they should be too. Like our children...we want better for them than we had...why would we not...when you love someone...you give 100% of yourself...not 95% and the other 5% is stuck in "why isn't it me mode." I think we all have been there...a friend having a success when we currently are flailing in that department...but the key is too support their achievements without sabatoging them...and figure out a way to get the same...if that is something we want.

It doesn't matter if that something is time...money...weight...love...posessions...children...etc...enjoy the joy of others so that you will see it for yourself when you achieve it too. We spend so much time looking at what we don't have that we miss out on so much of what we do. So much time looking forward to the next accomplishment...that we don't revel in the daily highs that at the end of our days...will be the map we leave behind for our family and friends.

I know I sound like I should be at the Jimmy Swagert telethon right now...but I do believe I have cheated myself on happiness because I was so consumed with jealousy of someone elses...I didn't see my own and missed great moments I can never get back.

Soooo.....QOTD....
What thing were you jealous of that a friend/family member had that caused you to see green.. .and how did you resolve your inner jealousy demon...or if you did not...how could you have????
:confused3

I am off...have a great day and remember...I am thankful you took the time to bring your talents and mentorship to all of us...each of you plays a vital role in this board and I am so proud that you have stayed...:grouphug:

Hi Everyone....

Last night was a tiring one... I did the scuplting piece of the Biggest Loser DVD and I am still not quite up and functioning from it yet. I feel good, but the development of new muscles sure does take a lot out of you.... My swim class for tonight has already been canceled thanks to the snow / ice storm that came last night, so I am bummed about that... On the plus side, I'll still work out at home and do my cardio segment tonight... Lunges and squats are evil....

Also - Dawn... why are you telling people about my trips to your town so that I can run..... I thought we agreed to keep that between us.... :rotfl2:

Dawn's QOTD is an interesting one.... I need to think about that for a little bit and submit my response a little later....

Have a great day everyone... this board is rockin' right now....

Paula

Aww sweetie I understand this COMPLETELY. You have no idea how much.

Thanks, Kat! This is just one of the many reasons I love this thread. No matter what the issue...weight related or not, there is someone here who totally gets it! :goodvibes That is such a huge gift...to have someone understand what you are going through without having to defend yourself, etc. Amazing. :flower3:

Snow day here today...again...for me and the kids! The university never cancels, but they did today! I was scheduled for a morning faculty meeting up on campus, so it is nice to stay inside all snuggled up! :lovestruc We have had nothing but snow and ice for weeks...seriously, I cannot remember the last time the sun has been out. I think on the weather this morning they said something like 12 or 13 days since we have had sunshine! :scared: We've all got our share of cabin fever, that's for sure.

QOTD---hmmm...that is a sensitive one for me...jealousy has always been a deamon of mine. Not sure how I handle it...I don't think I ever really act on it, but I have been jealous since I was a kid. Maybe from being the youngest of 5? Not sure. :confused3 I hate it. It is something that I have known about myself for years, but have never really learned how to conquer.

It is not a self-esteem issue or anything like that (Oh...Mary's life is so much better than mine...). I really, really love my life--Ever since we knew that DD (5) was going to survive her renal failure, I have been saying, "The only cloud on my horizon of life is my weight..." So I really have very little to be jealous about. But that green-eyed monster rears its ugly head far too often for my liking. I will have to pay close attention next time I feel it so that I can better pinpoint it. On a side note...I have zero jealousy about other women (in terms of DH...if he has female friends or co-workers, etc). I trust him completely in that regard and one of the reasons we are solid is due to the fact that we both truly know that the other would never go there.

Ok...of to shovel! Today is my off day for working out and running, but I will shovel the walk way and that will at least be something. DH plows the driveway (it is long...and it is Maine...everyone has a beater plow truck! :rotfl2: ). We also have a snowblower for the walkways, etc. but I am going to use my muscles instead of the machine!

Snow day here today...again...for me and the kids!

Snow day for us too. Or, more accurately SLUSH DAY! We had snow last night, changed to freezing rain, and is headed for plain old rain as the day continues. It's just gross out there! :scared1:

My "day off" from working out as well - and I need it! I have one very sore calf muscle! It's a bit odd- not feeling tight, but just sore - more like I got kicked and it's bruised in there :headache: (I didn't however....:rolleyes1 )

Now - to resist the urge to BAKE SOMETHING! :scared:

Dawn, :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . And yes, I read that. Nekkid and typing again, I see. :)

Welcome back to the game sista! Do you have special disney songs that you work harder to? I put the 2 versions of Space Mountain's music in my mix and when they come on I go as hard and fast as I can on the elliptical. The music from Hercules also is very motivating to me.

"Just remember in the darkest hour
Within your heart's the power
For making you
A hero too
So don't lose hope when you're forlorn
Just keep your eyes upon the skies
Ev'ry night a star is
Right in sight a star is
Burning bright a star is born"

I mean how is that not totally motivating :) Grats on all your successes and keep the food tracker coming! I love seeing the different ideas for meals. :):)

:confused3

I am off...have a great day and remember...I am thankful you took the time to bring your talents and mentorship to all of us...each of you plays a vital role in this board and I am so proud that you have stayed...:grouphug:

Hmmm... I was jealous of a friend of mine and what she had and what not. I don't know if I got over the jealousy but I did one up her... LOL... stupid purses... LOL... I can't believe how dumb I can be... She had an imitation Louis Vuitton and Burberry and for some reason I was so jealous then when I got my job and started making enough I bought my own Coach bags and then a friend gave me a Louis Vuitton that she didn't want anymore (she dates a lot of rich guys). Looking back on it its completely ridiculous but I think I just always wanted more status. I want to look better than her etc... But I am so done with that. She is dieting and working out too so I am being supportive of her. Just typing that all out makes it so ridiculous. Even when I went the the Landmark forum I realized a lot of stuff I did a year or so ago was pointless and immature. So now that I've gotten that out I feel better... lol... I do still really like purses tho...

Good Morning Ladies!!! Now that you've all read my mini books... LOL... I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!!! I am looking forward to the gym! I lost .8 lbs!!! :woohoo:

Have a magical day! pixiedust:
