In search of my body...not the one I ate!

You know the songs that will pump you up, revive you when you're 24:35 minutes into walking and the song comes on and you actually need to start walking 3.3 mph to stay up with the beat?

Mine are:

My Humps / Black Eyed Peas
Family Affair / M. J. Blige
Rock Your Body / J. Timberlake
Baby Got Back / Old School Players (I LOVE THIS SONG)

Elvis -Satisfaction

I scroll on nano to Alice Cooper Poison and then cool down with Snow white song if I decide to go for 30 more minutes scroll to ACDC Back In Black/Hells Bells/Shook Me All Night Long
I'm a theme person, and in my own twisted theme world I now have in the nano-
ACDC opening act for Mary Poppins
Prince opening for Lion King
Meat Loaf for Lumiere and Rice Rice Baby (Weird Al)-that'll curb an appetite
Quiet Riot for Bert
John Cougar Mellencamp

I require music on the treadmill

The Elvis song I use is "a little less cocnversation" I love it. Also opening song for Fridays tv show Vegas ,it says satisfy me. I twist lyrics and titles all the time. Sing along with the wrong words.
The stroller story was hilarious and had a nice, safe ending:)

Hello out there...

First off...

MamabearJo - congrats on the loss.... that is awesome... I used to do the same thing and reward myself with food... now I reward myself with me time like a manicure, a trip to a favorite museum, a walk in favorite park, etc. It is a time for me to do something that I really enjoy and never get to do enough...

chbc - welcome.... when you are ready and comfortable, you'll share what is going on in that head of yours... until then enjoy what is inside ours... you never know what is going to come out next...

everyone else - keep up the great work. There is a tremendous amount of support on this thread and I love you all for it...

OK - now for the bad news... I went out to dinner last night and ate a bit too much.. Why did they leave the bread basket in front of me??? Why did I eat two pieces out of it??? Why did I order the honkin piece of chicken parm of which I ate 1/3rd of??? On the plus side, I did send the leftovers home with someone else so there is no way I'll be repeating my mistakes again... Oh well - I am back on plan and will be walking another two miles tonight.

Keep the music selections coming. I am looking for some inspiration....

Goof

IThe stroller gets to the bottom of the hill and glides to a stop. Soft as a cloud. Didn't even touch the railroad tie.

Molli catches up and I can see everything is under control. I rip off those blasted roller blades and run to them.

Maddi is happy as a clam. She, I'm sure, thought this was part of the walk.

I can't tell you the relief I felt.

(Of course then I had to push her BACK UP the hill and collect the roller blades on the way.)

I don't think I've gone roller blading since.

Umm... YIKES!!!! The fact that everyone is safe is wonderful news... I don't think I will ever roller blade again now.... (not that my last experience wasn't enough of an incentive to stay away from the sport... let's just say I have an up close and personal relationship with one of the columns in front of my college library and leave it at that...;) )

......At this point I trip and fall to the pavement and the stroller slips out of my grasp. ....... Molli catches up and I can see everything is under control. I rip off those blasted roller blades and run to them.

Holy cow! My heart was pounding reading that! You're right though - I can just picture the little one crying "WHHHEEEE" as she careened down the hill!

I'm so technologically challenged :badpc: (Thank GOD I live with a geek and 3 teenagers! Or I'd be left completely in the dark :goodvibes ) so if I ever figure out how to "multi-quote" in one post, I'd be more efficient. Oh well...:confused3

I have such an eclectic mix of music on my playlist. Everything from Neil Diamond (Sweet Caroline) and Carly Simon (Your So Vain) to Fergie, Run DMC and the explicit version of Baby Got Back. Add in all the country, classic rock, alternative, blues, and the Spamalot Soundtrack...there definitely isn't one style that describes me.

Perhaps one song title that describes me? Today I'll go with Iggy Pop's Lust for Life.

Glad to hear I am not the only one:goodvibes I just figures out how to do one quote. Plus I have the disadvanage of living in the country and not having high speed anything. We still have dial up and every post I make or try to read takes my computer forever to get through, extremely frustrating :headache:

I have not been roller blading for years. We have lived on gravel roads for years plus I don't know if my ankles and knees could handle it :scared:
While I was reading your story I kept saying stop stop stop:scared1: and it did, Thank God

Thats how bad I am the top line of my last post was suppose to be a quote. I will get it right soon, I hope.

OMG! That stroller story must have been terrifying! I can only imagine. Yeah, I would have burned the blades after that as well!

MBJ--you'll get the hang of it soon enough, no worries! :goodvibes

Songs--I actually don't listen to music while working out, but instead go with books on tape (ok, books on iPod) and my favorite workout material is the Dis Unplugged Podcast! If you haven't ever listened to it, tune it...you don't need an iPod...you can listen right at your computer while you Dis! It is informative stuff about all things Disney and it is HILARIOUS!

I have not had a great day. I have not eaten anything that I shouldn't have, but I just ate way too much all day...just never felt full all day long, so kept shoving things in my mouth. We don't have a lot of junk around, so I was technically eating stuff that was ok, but I WAY over-did my serving of nuts...like maybe 3x what I am allowed to have. So I am bummin at the moment.

Tomorrow is another day...going out to lunch, so that will be a bit of a challenge. I love my fried food! Do you think I can ask them to fry a salad? And if so, does it still count as an all veggie serving?

Great Idea, I love books and listening to talk radio. That just might get me through a work out better then music.

Like you said tomorrow is another day, just do the best you can. It will all work out in the end. Here's a hug for strenghth when you go out to eat.

Hey All!

For starters I was right.... Subway again for dinner... this makes night 3.. lol :rotfl2:

I went to the gym tonight and met with the personal trainer... He worked me out hard... my legs are going to kill tomorrow. Of course I forgot my water so when I went to do my 30 minutes of cardio I only made it 15 before I felt like I was going to die. So only did 15 minutes... I am fairly upset about it but oh well I can't cry over it and its not going to ruin me.

Hope everyone had a great evening!:hippie:

Wonderful:banana: Keep up the great job.

So sorry that I haven't been able to participate much... trying to tie off all loose ends at work this week so that I won't get called while at WDW next week so I haven't hit the boards too much other than quick scans. And tonight was last minute shopping and packing. All packed except for some random toiletries and a few things ready to come out of the dryer.

Yay for everyone doing so well!! I have been terrible but I will be so ready to recommit on Feb 4th.

And the rollerblade story... :scared1:

I had a heck of a day...coming down to the wire with a lot of personal and hard decesions and so much struggle in the heart. I am very financially concerned with this divorce and I need to just have faith and work really hard...but I am scared.

I lasted about 1/2 a day yesterday with the protein -a thon...had chinese for dinner and today...no food except a Boca Brat plain and then dinner...noodles and tomato soup...not too much...but add a Coke and I am going strait to the Big Guy downstairs.

MamaBear Jo...I get the emotional eating....you and I ate our way around Epcot last year...trying to trip the skinny biaches meanwhile!:rotfl2: Does tripping people count as a form of excersize??? Hmmm...what would fit day give that for 20 minutes???

Speaking of Me and MaMaBears trip to the World last year...I have been waiting for her to tell a story...but she keeps waiting...so I will tell it!
******CLEAR AWAY ALL BEVERAGES NOW PLEASE****

So Me and Jodi...(AKA MaMaBearJo) went to the World on a girl's trip. That would be her 2 teenage beauties...Hanna and Sara, my daughter Carsyn and Hanna's friend Dana. Weight wise all the girls are approx 140-170ish...great shaped...athletic girls. Then there is us...Hubba and Bubba...I will never say which is who...and we think that Blizzard Beach sounds grand.

(For those who remember the Crush N Gusher Story...yeah...this is a pre-quel and it does not involve the same friend...)

Sooo....after freezing because it was raining that day....we did the Tobaggan Racers. Yeah...good idea...put a fat chick on a stamp sponge and see how fast she can fly!
So we smartly lined up...let others go in front so we can all slide together...and we waited for the go -ahead and I could hear the Olympic Medal calling. It may have been zinc...but it was calling out!

"YOOO HOOO....TUBBY TALLULAH....Don't ya want me...." :wave2:

So I geared my sponge mat...I lifted the front for greater speed...I placed my piglets firmly on the ground for precesion take off...and :thumbsup2

NADA!!! :hourglass

I layed firmly where I started and my take off was that of Nicole Richie at a Buffet.popcorn:: day changed to night...Spring turned to Summer :beach:
...Bird's came and migrated...and me and Bubba....d@mn...you took it out of me...stayed still...listening to Hans and Frans the lifeguards flex... :rolleyes1

So we...did what any upstanding, patriotic chubola, citizens would do...we lurched forward...did a death defying belly flop onto the water that would even carry Shamu to the sea...and finally...praise Jesus...started downhill.:woohoo:

For a moment...we looked good...svelt even..
okay not really but give me sumpin sumpin...
and the the hill became an evil Dictator who said we were badd baddd girls and must pay.:headache:

So...pay up at the pump we did...the teens...were already careening down the second hump...and we...we not only had a chance to come from behind...we beat them due to our behinds. In fact we did not just beat them...we went past them at the end...cause fat flies and does not stop nicely and gracefully mid finish line....

Ahhh Hel* no....we aint no stinkin quitters....we will finish this baby in style...even if this means eating the padded stoppers placed as decoy barricades at the end of the ride. :scared1:

Now all that I can say about that...is I did finish with all my parts still attached...even the girls (my personal ones...as opposed to the girl I gave birth to) and their little buttons.:) :)

Jodi...was dryer than I was at the start of the ride...and as she skidded sideways into the finish post...and onto the wave pool below...she said...perhabs a better explanative would be screamed...

"I left my niPPl* back there!".

I wet myself till Tuesday...because she was literally holding her left breast...and it was not a BTW kinda scream...but more of an...
"I am in labor and want narcotics yell!" :sad2:

So we went off to the First Aid station...and they said this happens all the time...and guess what...she got a faux tootie! A prostetic pidipple! I mean the thing is as real as the nose on your face and versitile!!! She can just pop that sucker on and off like a pair of sunglasses.:cool2:

So...next time you are searching/stealing lost change at the bottom of slides at the Disney Water parks...look out for a missing appendage...we were horrible and left a soldier behind......

But...I hear there is a reward...MaMaBearJo's hubby is offering $500 for anyone with information leading to the capture and return of his ole Lucy...

"Picked a fine time to leave me Lucy...3 hungry kids and a man whose wife has only 1 nip...
I've had some bad times...
lived through some sad times...
but nothing like old, one-eye, patchy tit!" :lmao: pirate:
Please tell me someone else thinks this is funny cause...I am laughing my hind end off and my daughter...up studying for finals...thinks her mama is off the deep end. ;)

I agree Kat, hang in there whatever the issues are we are here for you no judging, just love love love:hippie:

Dan, Do men get asked if the drapes match the carpet or chest hair, leg hair, back hair, toe hair:goodvibes Why does it matter anyways ? :confused3
Just wondering

:confused3 I must not be hot enough...noone has ever asked me that question...:sad1:

I am with you...the songs are imperative if working out or driving....Also 80's hard rock is great. I do however, like many different genres

Jodi, you did a great job on the weight :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I weighed in yesterday...and I did it! I made my goal of weighing less this Girls' Trip than the one two years ago - I did it by .2 lbs but still, I have a few weeks to go down more!

So this week's loss is 2.2 - down 30.2 lbs total since Oct 24th! :cool1:

The next big goal is seeing those 190's on the scale...I might kiss it when the numbers come up!
