In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Okay, I posted this in the other thread, but I have seen someone wipe out like that on the treadmill. On the other side of that coin, there used to be a guy at a gym I went to a few years back, that DANCED on the stairmaster. I mean like turning around, full out rocking. We all marvelled at this, since it is all I can do to stay on the darn thing and finish a workout, let alone DANCE!!

Food for today:
B: 100-cal pack mini-muffins, coffee
L: Pita + turkey + laughing cow (120), soup-at-hand (90), cottage cheese (90), apple (60)
D: 6-piece chicken nuggets (250), small fry (250), ice cream cone (150), from McD's
S: 1/2 cup Fiber One (60), 1/4 cup milk (80)
Total, 1200. Exercise, 35 min on elliptical (2.5 miles), 100 crunches on ball. Water, 80 oz.

Don't worry, ladies...the 40lbs I just hit, that was my baby weight. She's 3 and half. For three years now I've been saying "By her birthday, I will have lost it" and now this year it's true! NOW I can say, "By her birthday I will be at or close to goal!"

What's that saying? Nothing tastes as good as thin feels? Whoo-hoo!

We are PROUD of you !!!!:grouphug:

We are PROUD of you !!!!:grouphug:

Thank you, Dan! :goodvibes

You all are the best. You really are. As you know, not everyone in my life is doing cartwheels for me, or celebrating my success...but you are. I hope you know I am proud of all of you, too. It's so great that we can cheer each other on and commiserate when need be. :grouphug:

I want to be Kat when I grow up. 100 crunches day! :cheer2:

NJLiz, we are definitely doing cartwheels for you! Even if there isn't a cartwheel smilie.

100 crunches isn't so bad. I had to work my way up to them. I can tell a real difference in the midsection after a few weeks of doing that 3-4 times a week. I do 25 straight up, 25 on each side, then 25 straight up again. I like the ball because you can't cheat. I also do some crazy oblique/lower back machine torture-device-thingy on my weight training days.

Oh-oh.....where is DWD? Hmmmm? has anyone seen her today? We are supposed to keep her accountable, right? Let's see...today is her "B" day. She better not be Binging! It will only serve to make her Butt Bulge! :rotfl2:

Let's be supportive and come up with some great B words for Liz today!

She can look in the mirror and tell herself that she is Beautiful (cause she is!)
Today she can be Bound and determined to work out!
She can rejoice in the knowledge that she is a Body Board Babe!
She can work out and make herself Buff!

Ok...your turn...

And LIZ...show thyself!

grats!!!! Nothing tastes as good as thin feels except sushi... ROFLMAO!

I saw the subject of this thread about two days ago and started reading, well I made it to about page 30 when I realized that there were 90+ pages on here!

All of you are so inspirational and FUNNY!

I also am a bit of a hippo and want to join the zoo here. I started WW last night after trying JC and not getting anywhere. I got really tired of the food and started to skip meals. I wouldn't cheat and eat bad, just not eat and well that got me nowhere as well.

So, here I am. Starting fresh and new. I feel like a first grader asking if I can join a club but can I can I?

Yaaaaay. Welcome to the club. We are pretty exclusive. Only the best DISsers can join, ya know?

Welcome, welcome! Yup, we're all slightly nuts (ok, some more than others...:rolleyes1 )

Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis?

The only message I get from that picture is Hey dumb butt don't eat this if you want to ever see a bathing suit again... LOL... I can't wait to have a real bathing suit as opposed to a tent made for swimming... LOL!

:rotfl: Good analogy.

Well here I go, I'm biting the bullet, but better that than the super size Snickers bar I'd rather be biting. I've been lurking on here for a while also and have gotten through about half the pages, some at the beginning and some at the end. My eyes got blurry and all the people and posts started to run together and I couldn't keep up with who's who and what was going on so I decided to just jump right in. I read someone else was hit with that lovely ice storm we just got too. As a teacher, much as I like time off of work, we've already used all our days so no more bad weather please.

I have a lot to gain so taking weight off is so important. I want to gain more confidence, more freedom, more style choices, more mobility, more energy, better health, more respect, and more pride. That's just a short list of what I'm sure could go on for pages.

Last year I lost 60 pounds, put 40 back on, but the good news is for the year I was down 20. So this year I started again, feels like such a roller coaster, I really don't like them anyways, and I want to get off at the end of the ride, goal that is. I digressed. This year I started with weight watchers in early January, and find it very manageable, but then after LA, most plans would be better. I've been off to a good start and lost 17 thus far, but sure would be nicer to share with others that are looking to gain all the right things.

I'm really looking forward to becoming a really member of this group.

Lori

Yaaaay. We have another. Welcome. Welcome. Welcome.

:lmao: :thumbsup2 :lmao: Thats right I have redeemed myself and have taken # 1500....whatcha think of that bird?????

Son of a...

How not to do the tread mill:

th305.gif

I love that! OUCH!

Ok...I've done this. Had some treads burnt into my forearms. I wear the safety now, ALL THE TIME.

My husband is now home. (For those that don't know, he's been working in Texas for over 6 weeks.) Today was a CRAZY Day! Oh, the road to my house is not flooded anymore, so I am home and doing tons of DH's laundry. When he ran out of socks and undies...he'd just buy more. If I hadn't done a mercy washing a couple weeks ago when I visited, I'd have to buy stock in Tide.

Any else notice how Dawn went all commando on us! I tell you, the girl like her some blood. Those Poops...err I mean Peeps better watch out!

:lmao: Only kidding. You are a true friend.

I'll have to Be Accountable later. AFTER I've walked on the TM. But I have to watch Project Runway first. It's a finale and Vicki B will be on.

You gals have been super busy, and on fire. Oh and one guy. Can't forget you Grumps. Post Stealer.

Ok. Gotta go take a real shower. I had to shower at grandmother in law's yesterday and she has no razors. "I'm so old I don't have to shave anymore. I guess that's the good thing about being old." I can't stand myself!!!

Hey, I am working on taking off my baby weight too...of course, my baby just turned 5.... :rolleyes1

I think I've lost the rights to calling it "baby weight" as my BABY is 12 1/2 and in the 7th grade! :scared1:

Nope. My extra is all from my love affair with food & drink. :lovestruc (now I have the tune "Dirty Little Secrets" by the All-American Rejects running thru my head.....I'll keep you my dirty little secret..... ;) )

Ahh, the love affair with food and drink. Yes, I know it well. :lovestruc

I have had no children, so I have no excuse.

DWD, hope that all is well. I have been thinking about you.

Okay I have seen your picture ...YOUare NOT
old !!!!

You may be slightly in need of a new mirror though if you think you are:lmao:

You have to balance your head on the ball, and then shove the crunches in as fast as you can...

For extra credit, eat the ball. :thumbsup2

No, I meant, she was saying why she didn't have any razors. And I needed to shave the gams. She might not need to shave, but I'm like Bamboo, a quick, statainable resource.

What is your secret Kat...is it the ball? I tried eating 100 Nestle Crunch's and I couldn't finish them all? Then you are supposed to lose weight doing this? :confused3

:rotfl:

DWD, hope that all is well. I have been thinking about you.

Thanks. right back at ya.

Lori - Welcome to this crazy bunch... you won't find a greater or more supportinve group of people... 17 pounds since the first of the year is pretty darn good... that deserves your first 'you go girl' of the night...

mmmm.... I looooove broccoli.... cooked just right its almost as good as chocolate... :sad2: Ok so I exaggerate a bit but still...

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sarah - Alton Brown just did one of his Good Eats shows that focused on broccoli... I am going to try his broccoli slaw for a new way of eating one of my favorite veggies...

You are my idol :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I agree... the last time I tried to do crunches on one of those balls, I fell off the darn thing... The thud was heard halfway across town.... I won't go near the things anymore...

Hope you are all having a great night... I am off to catch some zzz's... I hear they are in town and I have been meaning to get some...

Ciao for now...
Goof

Oooooh.....feisty tonight, are we? :lmao: :rotfl2:

Glad you are safe and dry...and no longer stinky now that you have had a proper shower! :rotfl:

Today was my rest day (no running)...and it felt really weird! I didn't like not doing ANY exercising. So I just ordered a bunch of workout dvds from Netflix (can you say Netflix addict? I brazenly violate copyright laws on a daily basis...my motto is Burn and Return, baby! :rotfl2: Yes, I burn copies of the dvds that I want to keep! I am in the process of going all digital...no more dvds to scratch! Everything is compressed and in digital format, so it is so much easier to store and watch....ok done with tangent). Anyway, I think I will add in some bonus workouts throughout the week via a variety of different dvds.

Any suggestions?

On Friday I meet with my new running coach! I am totally psyched to work with this guy. He is designing a running program for me. We will meet and train once a week for 8 weeks, and he said he will have me race-ready for the summer! I am already registered for the Disney half in January, but I will need to do a bunch of smaller races before then. There are also two different halfs in Maine coming up...one in August and one in Sept., so I will likely do one of those. So, speed drills, time trials, and "long run" days, here I come!
