Skirts.... what are those.... I spend my days in jeans crawling around dusty attics or wandering through muddy construction sites...

The teeth comment got me thinking of the funniest/grossest thing I ever saw...

Me an Jodi have discussed this since we are teeth people...we like the fact that we can walk into any bar and be some of the hottest women in there by tapping our teeth as we walk by the rednecks...you should try it...a set of choppers beeing tapped with a fingernail is like a mating call to most men....no everyone...grab your pointy fingernail and start tapping....waiting:bored: so anyway...here is a story about Disney..well at least a drive to Disney...

As a family...we used to drive there...and thus...needed to go into parts of the world us Northerners seldom see...Georgia...and specifically small Truck Stops in Georgia....
There was 2 women at a table...I am nosy and notice only one is eating even though the other has a whole plate of food in front of her and is not talking either.....wait some more and still nothin....then...the woman eating...takes a big glass of water...swishes....then swallows...

then proceeded to take out her rental choppers and hand them over to the other woman....who placed them in her mouth and then ate...while roles reversed!:scared1:

I threw up and gagged in my mouth and right now...am stiffiling a vomit reflex too...honestly...I felt so bad that they were in that position to have to do that but also that they were having no qualms about it either and could be just cheap! I mean they left in a nice car...who knows??? I did want to ask them if it was like a time share??? Do they nly pay for the time they use??? Are there other Chopper Squatters???:scared:

Ok, this just happened to me this morning at the gym...I swear! There is this woman in town that I have been friendly with for years, Sally. We each have 3 kids, all the same ages, so we run into each other all the time (it is also a small town, so you pretty much run it to everyone all the time...).

Anyway, after Sally and I each had our third kids, we also had on the same extra 30-ish pounds. Each time over the past several years that we would run into one another, we would lament about the weight, how hard it is to get off when you have to manage three kids...no time for yourself, etc.

Well, I haven't seen Sally in a few months..not since before T'Giving at least. And today...there she was at the gym...and RAIL thin! So of course I was like, "WOW...you look great...what did you do to get the weight off?" and on and on. Again, we had been kindred spirits when it came to weight....

And she said, "I had a parasite...."

And I laughed thinking it was a joke (because really, she had lost a LOT of weight).

But she said that she was serious...had gotten some water-born parasite and was really sick for a while, lost tons of weight, etc.

Now, I was trying really hard to look normal....but I must have failed and the jealousy showed on my face! :rotfl2: Cause she said, "yeah, I know...you want the recipe. My sisters do, too!" :rotfl: :lmao:

Anyway, just thought I would share!

I thought I had a nice one over the weekend but it gave me .8 of a pound back *grumbles*:mad: I didn't even cheat... lol...

Those of you who are doing the couch to 5k program are inspiring. I am not up to running yet (my doctor said to stay away from the high impact stuff otherwise rish blowing out my knees) but the programs sounds awesome. Hopefully in time, my doctor will lift the ban and I can try it. Until then, I'll be walking, swimming, stair climbing, etc to get my sweat on.

Dawn - get thee an i-pod.... the options for podcasts, music, etc. are amazing. The cheapest one is a shuffle and runs about $79.00 and you can upload your own music to start. Many of the podcasts are free so you can get those up and running with very little cost impact. I know things are crazy right now, but if you can figure out a way to do it - go for it. Until then, download i-tunes to your computer (its free) so you can listen in on the free podcasts from your computer...

Try it with whole wheat flour, applesauce instead of fat, and Splenda for baking? All of a sudden, it becomes a whole new treat! No, they're not as good as the ones with butter/shortening, but if you are craving oatmeal cookies...

Don't worry to much if you are doing weights you are going to be gaining muscles and that weights more that fat. So look on the bright side you are toning.:thumbsup2 Keep up the great job and try not to get to discouraged.
 
I know exactly how you feel... I met with my trainer whom I see twice a month on Wednesday and today I finally stopped hurting... LOL... Thursday wasn't so bad but Friday was awful. He had me do this thing where I laid down on my stomach and pushed my feet to the wall. Then I put my forearms on the mat and lifted my mid section for 10 seconds 3 times... then I did the same thing on each side... OMG I wanted to kill myself... It was soooo hard.... :lmao: Lets just say I felt it for a while...

I keep telling myself that if I can't walk then it must be doing something. I have to run day 1 of week 3 in the C25K tonight and I am scared :scared:

Been there, done that! Yup, three kids creates havoc on your bladder control! I am thinking of having the surgery...it is outpatient and laproscopic...they basically just put a few stitches in your baldder and ureter so that things are not as...ummm....loose....

I keep hearing about the bladder sling. It sounds like a little hammock to give it some added support. I am hoping it will correct itself but that hasn't happened yet.

What is Ornithologist?

Essentially, it is a bird biologist. I interned for the Smithsonian while I was in school and didn't need $ to eat and pay rent and I worked on a West Nile virus project and a blood parasite study. I spent my days in the woods catching, banding and taking measurements and blood from various bird species. I LOVED it. But it doesn't pay at all.

Full time contractor of what?

I work in language aquisition and development and coordinate training for govies learning a critical language. I prefer working with the birds. They are far more interesting and don't whine nearly as much.

I also was addicted to the GB. Tetris was a cruel lover. (Truthfully, I could go HEAD TO HEAD right now with Anyone in Tetris. Adding sheepishly...I don't think the kiddos play that one anymore.)

My current obsesion is SIMS and Spyro. :sad2: [/COLOR]


Trick I learned the first night. Once you ice the cake, smooth as possible, let it set for 20 minutes or longer. Then...take a piece of parchment paper and lay down on the cake and rub your hand on it and voila, smooth, beautiful decorating surface. Then do the same to the sides.

I am on the opposite side of the fence. I have to dress up for work (no skirts, I refuse at this weight) and really miss my hiking boots and dirty old field pants.

As if that wasn't cool enough news, when we looked at the totals from when I started back in October - I have officially hit the 30 pounds lost mark!!!!!:cool1: :banana: :cool1: :banana:

I was just so thrilled when they told me this that I busted out my happy dance right there in the center.... Thanks to all of you for the great support over the past month. I couldn't have done this without you guys...:hug:

So - the first 30 down, on to the next 30....

I would agree... you can't let the # of calories go too low otherwise your body thinks it is starving and will hold onto its reserves. That is why starvation type diets don't work over the long haul.

It sounds strange, but you have to eat in order to lose weight....

I agree...your body is not getting enough fuel, and is therefore holding on to every bit that you give it. Also, remember that it is not just calories...they have to be balanced. (For example, if you ate 895 calories but they were from fast food...:sad2: too much saturated fat and you won't lose. So you still want to make sure that you are getting lots of protein, etc.) Stick with it!

As for me, I just did a BONUS run! Yup, today was supposed to be an off day...and I went to the gym anyway! I like this whole working out in the morning thing...just sets up the rest of my day so well!

The only problem is that the gym is crowded in the morning, so I see everyone I know (small town) and my jiggling rolls are there for all to see... :scared1:

The advice is right on target. Don't restrict those calories. Eat Healthy! You are so worth it. please make good food choices, get that 30 min. at least and we'll make it. You are working hard and are dedicated. hope you feel better.

You will get there! I agree with everyone else that 895 is too low. Though, I understand that it is tough to eat when you are still feeling lousy. I hope you are feeling healthy again soon.
