In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Well let's see here..
#1 I too knew what a narwhal was only because I am an ocean geek and one of my biggest regrets is tied to that....would have loved to have been an "ocean research assistant person/player all of things cute and bizaare" that liives in the ocean but I HATED science except for the ocean part. I live on the animal planet station and during shark week...watch out...anything underwater I adore...love them seal babies and as a whole think anytime in the water is better than time out...

Baylor is a lot like that....even in the dark lakes we have here...he will snorkle until he passes out just to see a sunfish eye to eye...

***About 5 years ago...Baylor was in the downstairs bathtub...he was about 8...and he would not answer my calls, knocks....anything...
Freaking out...I reached up and got the straight pin pop un-locker we kept above the bathroom doors...came bustin in like John Wayne..to find the kid in my $700 snorkle gear...submersed...under bubbles...He was playing a CD in our shower CD player of ocean sounds and oblivious that he was not Captain Neptune.

After wanting to throttle him for scarring the heck out of me...I laughed and laughed...all I could see above the massive bubbles was a snorkle tip and his white hiney...

#2 POP you say...oh yeah...I am grooming my kids to annoy the heck out of ya...

#3 We call them subs as well.....but what do you guys call sloppy joe's?? In Iowa they are called "Maid Rites"...like you can make them wrong I guess...and Taverns.....

#4 So let's get some votes in for Saturday night for Treyner's B-day...Where do ye all say we shall go???

Okay, that's HI LAR IOUS!

Sloppy Joe's, of course! Maid Rite is funny!

#4 So let's get some votes in for Saturday night for Treyner's B-day...Where do ye all say we shall go???

Where does HE want to go? Did he really want O'Hana? Or Chefs de France? Oh, Biergarten? That could be fun with this crazy table of loons! I'm easy. Feed me and I'm happy!

He has absolutley no preferance....he just wants to go..wants everything to be a surprise...He is not a fish eater though....

Biergarten would be fun...great idea....

Kat....Germans drink beer in case ya didn't know...

Okay ... 1 vote for Biergarten....

But back to Kat...I admire your sense of self and your self- awareness. It's a gift not many have, to be able to look at their life for what it is. And know who they are, despite the trappings of job, wife, daughter, sister, friend. You do it well.
...

We are sooo the cool kids! Our table is the coolest! :cool1:

Went to meet the personal trainer. Loved him! (But not in the hot-trainer way, thank God.) He totally listened to me and wrote down what I said. Did an endurance test. I did really well! I'm not as pathetic as I thought I was! Now the decision is, to train or not to train? Nick and I have to talk money (we have none, remember the money spending of two weeks ago?). We'll have to see. I'd love to do 2x a week for a few months and then 1x a week. We also discussed classes that would be good for me and cardio. We will meet on Friday, 2nd free meeting, and I'll learn a program and some new cardio. So even if I can't have the personal attention, I'll be on a path! I loved that he suggested classes to work in! And trainers stretch you! WHY did no one tell me this before? Heather, Nancy, Erika? Fitness people! You held out on me! It was like being a basketball player - you lie down and they stretch you! How cool is that???

Okay, carry on with your interesting stories - I'll be reading! popcorn::

 awwww... thanks!!!

Trainer sounds great! I would love to have one. But, alas, I am too cheap.

DWD, love the PSA.

Biergarten sounds fine to me. Love me some steins of beer. Also, most of my ancestry is German.

"I read this as "Treynor" sounds great! I would love to have one. But, alas, I am too cheap."

Which made total sense. He, (Treynor) is great. And you had mentioned you didn't want kiddos, and I then figured it was because you were too cheap.:rotfl:
can relate.)

HAHA! I suppose that is part of the reason I don't want kiddos... as well as 1) I just don't have the desire to, and 2) I would never, ever bring a child into my little corner of the world as it is right now. I would change my life completely before subjecting a poor innocent human to it.

Okay...so I read DWD's post and I laughed my hiner off...I read Kat's post too as she wanted a "Treyner" which is my my son's name spelling as opposed to
a trainer which is a person who educates others in various fields....

The explanation of his name is that I liked the name Trey (remember the soap opera "Capitol" back in the 80's) and I hate dthe fact my name you could never lengthen/shorten or get a nick name from....

Chad and I were going through Treynor, Iowa...and alas...the name began but I liked it with a TREYNER so the last part sounds er not or...

He hated being called Trey as a kid...now wants people to start...but I have a hard time doing so as I have called him 1 name his whole life....

Anyway....asked him about Biergarten....he sounded like that would be a great plan...plus then the kids could head out and have fun and we could all meet up for illuminations...plus what if we saw the Candelight Prosessional ???

and I hated the fact my name you could never lengthen/shorten or get a nick name from....

I can call you "D." Wasup D!

You can always get a nick name. ALWAYS.

Delta Dawn.

My husband makes up nicknames for everybody, no one is called by their first name. It shocks me in public when he says "Liz." I hear that so rarely, it sounds foreign.

Ok, I am not posting for the rest of the day. I have just monopolized this thread enough for today. I'll see youse guys in da morning.

Sarah...let us hear from you please...we all want to know you are coping and doing okay through this...
I ...would be in a closet in a sugar coma....:cool2:

Too funny on the trainer/Treyner! I will call him Trey, Dawn! I know what it's like to want to change your nickname! I was not always Liz...but I am SO Liz now. And no one ever called me Elizabeth until I was 22 and my first boss used my full name. It was weird!

DWD Liz please keep going! I'm loving it! Do not run and hide for the day!

Sarah, I second the let us know how you are when you can!

I go by Kathryn, usually, but Kat is the only nickname I will tolerate... it is definitely easier to type, too. People shorten and mispell my name constantly, Katie, Katherine, Kathy, Catherine, etc... drives me batty. Especially at work when it is in my signature line AND you have to type it into the "to" line, and they *still* spell it Katherine. Morons.

I get to spend from noon-6 tomorrow in a meeting (well, hour to get there, 4 hours in meeting, hour back), so I will be somewhat MIA.

Sarah, .

Wow, fun! Day long meeting. I'm jealous. ;)

Do they feed you at least? I like free food.

I hate to be called something other than my name - like Kathy for you. You are not Kathy! I am not Beth! Do not call me that.

The curse of a "good" name.

I love hearing about people's name. Mine is Cherene, try making a nickname out of that one! My brother and sister couldn't say my name when they were little so I became SIS. They still call me that, even my Dad calls me Sis

No food, probably. Which is a good thing, considering.

This one should be ugly as crap. It is to resolve a bunch of problems we have been having with the vendor. I also get to make the drive there and back w/ my team lead, whee. At least he bathes.

Cherene, cool name!! I can see people shortening that to Cher, Cherie, though... or even reenie. People can butcher just about anything.

I managed to make it to the gym tonight after work since I didn't go at lunch. I just want to get under 170 before I go to WDW... 3 more lbs to go...

No, don't go! I feel like I usually monopolize the thread on a daily basis, but I have been gone for like 10 hours...I just got home and now I wanna play! Come on, please come out and play! :rotfl2:

As for nicknames...I really like my name. But growing up, I was...get this...Ricky (or Ricki), as in eRIKa. I liked it for about a year...then I was over it. No one else was. My parents still call me that once in a while. Or just Rick. Fun. Not. Like Pixie, I was also sis or sissy and I am still that to lots of family members as well. I do the same thing to my girls. The older one is Sissy. No worries...I am already saving for her therapy bills. :lmao: My students call me Doc or Doc A. and that is cute from them.

OMG, Kat, you are SO not a Kathy! And Liz is definitely not a Beth! :scared:

Sorry about your bummer of day coming up. Ugh. I'll say it before and I'll say it again. I don't know how you do it. I never could handle your workload.

Do you have a Disney trip coming up that we don't know about???? When are you going next? WOW--I had no idea that you were getting that close to the 160's! Holy crap! That is AMAZING! You are really getting close to goal!!!

My next trip is May 17-23. 17th is CSR, 18-23 is BCV. Our 3rd anniversary is May 21, and we have V&A reservations. Wow, I guess we are about a month away now.

My last weigh-in was 172. I have actually stayed away from the scale this week (for once!) so I have no idea what I am right now. I do know that my landmark 12s are fitting almost loose. And that I have lost 2.5" from my hips since Jan, and 2" from my waist. :)

Oh, btw, I am pretty sure that my tummy problems are a pulled internal ab muscle. I am feeling much better, and it has resolved itself into a pretty obvious thing rather than just allover pain.

That's cute! I know someone whose siblings couldn't say her name, so they called her Pie. The entire family still calls her Pie!

No food, probably. Which is a good thing, considering.

Oh, thank God it's abs and not something else! Hey, PMing you my addie - I am up for those 14s whenever you are ready to give them up!

I went to Ms. Jealous's for dinner. She made burgers - very good - and an amazing salad, but here's the kicker...she bought WW ice cream sandwiches for me! Can you believe it? I think she's coming around to supportive - it's only been 5 months! But man, I'll take it!!!

Sarah-- I understand

#4 So let's get some votes in for Saturday night for Treyner's B-day...Where do ye all say we shall go???

#3 Sloppy joes are acceptable....even in Iowa or Nebraska a Maid Rite is a brand name like DQ or McDonalds. A tavern is the same thing but not a brand name and the difference between either one of those and a sloppy joe is that a sloppy joe is like a "Manwich" and the others are ground hamburgers (chopped very fine).

Glad Ms. Green is finally coming around! About freakin' time!

I am sending Kat some clothes this week--I have a bunch of brand new Eddie Bauer shirts that still have the tags on.

Ok...more clothes swap stuff...

I have a bunch of 8s, 10s, and 12s that I am happily parting with! Any takers?

--Old Navy "long shorts" (kinda cargo-ish style). Size 10 and 12 These could fit any height.
--Old Navy cargo shorts--size 12. never worn. Probably better for a shorter person (too big when I bought them)
--Dressy skirt from Kohl's - navy print - worn once. Supposed to hit mid-calf and is very long on me (so I think anyone taller can pull this off). Size 8, fits like a 10.
--American Eagle cargo pants with drawstrings at the ankles. Totally cute for a taller person (they always just made me look like I was wearing clown pants...) Size 8.
--Old Navy pants, brown, low rise, size 8. 30" inseam.

If anyone wants any pics first, just let me know.

I am 5'2" so the pants are for shorties...but Kat, I know I have some stuff that will totally fit you, regardless of the height difference.
