In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Hope everyone is having a good night and has a great week-end. I have been an energizer bunny tonight and am really getting caught up with work, so that feels great. About one more hour and I will be in great shape. I hate feeling behind the 8-ball and overwhelmed.

Tomorrow we are ripping apart 3 out of 4 bathrooms....:scared1: ....so we are gonna be in construction mode BIG TIME....just because I don't have enough going on in my life right now! :faint:

Again, everything ends in about 3 weeks...the semester and the construction. So I will just be out of my mind crazy for a few more weeks.

I have been watching on cable a show called..."I can make you thin" and it really has been an eye opener on what the mental piece of my weight is.

They have done studies that really show that the human brain raects the same to positive stimulus from food and good memories. That is if you can sit and remember a positive moment...a really good memory...and vividly try to recall it..it will feed the part of your brain that is looking for a positive stimulus...which is a craving...which we usually go to food.

I also think that we crave and eat when we ware not giving our bodies all the nutrients it needs....how mmany times do I eat a box of mac-n-cheese and 20 minutes later I am scouring...craving...not hungry...I believe their is a difference.

I am going to try my hardest to start eating a full meal...carbs, vegies, fruit, protein and have it at each meal...then doing protein at my 2 snacks. I will also have dessert at each supper. I hope feeding what my body needs will cut my cravings...I know when I am hungry...I eat what I find easiest...when I crave..I scrouge and nothing satisfies me...

I also will be taking my vitamins every day...hopefully that will ensure that I am getting my bodies needs ...not my mental ones.

The tip he had last night..was to pinch your thumb and finger on your left hand together...think of a food you hate...envision eating that food...actually pretend chew..then start mixing in cake...or whatever you are craving with the food that disgusts you....you will not think it is appealing anymore.

Then pinch your finger and thumb on your right hand...think of the experoience that you equate with happiness...and remember details of that...

Again the thought is that if you are feeling a reminder (pinching of your fingers...) and thinking of a stimulus....(disney maybe) you will override the munchie trigger...

When I see people who are thin...they usually do not deprave their hunger...they stiffle their cravings...wo different things...

Hope that helps...

I also will be drinking tons of water...at last 120 ounces....I should be out of the bathroom by next February!!
So..I am going to start posting my food...try my best on eating only one portion size..and see what happens....

***Breakfast is..... 1 container of raspberry yogurt...1/2 cup of banana nut granola..2 pieces of sausage...8 oz of water...

Hey Dawn--glad to see that you are posting food...I think that will help keep you focused on what you eat. On Monday, I will post the food plan that I get from my sports nutritionist guru guy....

DWD is doing all of that pinching and tapping stuff from the tv show...:rotfl2: ...she posted a while back that she feels a bit like a mental patient with all of the ticks and behaviors she's got going on...:lmao: but hey, if it works, go with it!

I am in remodeling hell today. DH is frustrated, we don't have half of the right parts, and here I am with 3 kids an NO running water (going on hour 4 with no water)...and three girls in the house....can't use the toilets....:scared1: Needless to say, it has been an interesting day. Hey, at least it is going on 4pm...which is cocktail hour in this house! :goodvibes

I watched that show the other day Dawn... I think he has some good points.

I do the same thing w/ my calorie counting... try to make it as balanced as possible, and to go with the least calorie-dense food I can find.

However, last night and today I wasn't so good. Last night was an eat everything in sight night, and today I did SteakNShake for late lunch. However, a double steakburger w/ cheese and a small cheese fry is 740 cals, and I had half a cottage cheese, so total damage was about 800. Including my 80 cals of fiber one for bfast, I still have about 300 or so to make a light dinner out of.

And, today I had my first pedicure ever. I think I scared the poor lady with the size of the calluses!!

I already am on the verge of insanity living in this hose so I might as well go all the way..

Go pee in the snow if you have any left...I bet your son can wite his name easier than you!!!

Okay...new feet rule..you must warn those reading before mentioning anything to do with feet...I am not hungry anylonger though...:lmao:

I had a South Beach pepperoni pizza for lunch with a few pieces of pineapple...and about 1 tablespoon of Ranch dressing to dunk the crust in...

More water today but honestly did not do to good of a job keeping track like I should have...on my 4th 12 oz glass...forgot vitamins this morning but will take now with supper...supper is a small bowl of chicken noodle soup (lipton packets with chicken added and mixed veggies and some seasoning so homemade sort of)...:rotfl2: made a huge pot... I also had 1 chocolate chip cookie (about 3 inches around) from a container I found in the freezer that I had made at Christmas...and I will indulge in a few pieces of tater tots...

I don't think that is too bad of a day...that one cookie took care of my sweet tooth aching....

Miss all of you...Dan is gone this weekend and it stinks...going for a walk with Carsyn..maybe watch a movie with her...the reality is...3 teenagers are not there even when you are...and I spend my time trying to guarantee that Chad and I are never in the same place in the house...he worked today so I got lots done...Baylor's room is immaculate...chucked out at least one moving box of clothes for the garage sale...all Abercrombie and Hollister so it should sell well..new rule at this house...if you haven't worn it in 6 months..you don't like it..time to pitch..he has lot's of clothes from Treyner and they wear some simialr but mostly different tastes in clothes...and Treyner has more clothes than any girl I know..

Which is a sore subject for Carsyn...but she doesn't understand that when Treyner was in Middle school...baggy clothes were in..now everyone wears tight t-shirts....so he has kept everything...and steals some fom Baylor..:rotfl2: If I wore that tight of a t-shirt...I would need it cut off before I lost circulation....:lmao:

And, today I had my first pedicure ever. I think I scared the poor lady with the size of the calluses!!

Well??? What did you think? I have been talking them up to you so much, I hope you liked the experience. I swear, ever since I started getting pedicures, I absolutely love my feet!

(talk about a tag..."I absolutely love my feet! " :rotfl2: )

Go pee in the snow if you have any left...I bet your son can wite his name easier than you!!!

WE once again have running water and flushing toilets! It was about 8 hours total...made more than one trip to my parents' house (about 2 miles down the road), and I farmed 2 of the kids out for part of the day to play with friends at their houses.

Now for the clean up...YIKES! A 3-man work crew in my house all day doing demolition work...you can only imagine the mess! So here I sit, with my rum and coke and catching up on the thread while I gather my energy to tackle the cleaning job of the century. And yes, we have to get most of it done tonight...otherwise, everything will end up tracked all over the house and then the cleaning will be twice as much work. Just got the kids off to bed, so I am having some quiet time before I hit it hard.

The great news is that I am COMPLETELY caught up with work! :cool1: This is huge for me and a great feeling! Granted, I was up till 2:30 in the morning and it looks like tonight will be close to the same (we have already decided to bag church tomorrow in favor of catching up on sleep and finishing cleaning today's mess. I don't feel guilty about missing church occasionally. My dad is our minister, so you know, I have an "in" with the big guy....:rotfl2: :lmao: ).

Three more weeks....three more weeks....three more weeks....

Okay...new feet rule..you must warn those reading before mentioning anything to do with feet...I am not hungry anylonger though...:lmao:

Suck it up and get a pedicure. You will never again have issues with feet!

I don't think that is too bad of a day...that one cookie took care of my sweet tooth aching....

Good for you for posting your food! Keep it up--being accountable makes all of the difference!

May is the big spring cleaning / eBay listing month in this house (note the "three more weeks" comment above! :rotfl2:). Once the semester is over, I have time to get that type of stuff done. And May and the first half of June are my magic times...I am done with work, but the kids are still in school....so that means bonus time for me. Lots of time around the house with NO ONE else in it! I go to town getting things cleaned and organized, etc.

Ok, no rest for the weary...off to clean this incredible mess!

SG--where have you been?

I thought it was awesome. Also was a good girl-bonding experience with my friend. One of my 2008 goals is to re-connect with friends and not live in my little hermit world.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Pre-5K my a$$ - I did 4 miles today, thank you very much! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Keep going, Dawn! You CAN do this!

Hey! I've been here the whole time, reading. Did you ever call a friend and not want to talk, but to listen? That's how I feel. Nothing much to say, but happy to listen for hours.

I always forget how quiet it is around here on the weekends - the thread, not my house, I mean! :lmao: My house? Not quiet. I spent hours really cleaning - washed floors on my hands and knees - and here we are late on Sunday, and it looks like someone threw up their stuff all over it! :rotfl: Good times.

I dropped a point on Wed at WW, so this week has been tough. It's only 7pts less for the week, but it feels like more. We went to the house of potential new friends last night. Their kid goes to preschool with ours. I did really well with food, but of course it was a "treat" night - pizza and wine. They were very laid back and nice so it was a good night.

Today we bought a new dining table and chairs. Holy Jeebuz. We have needed one forever, as ours is my parents' old set. The old table is very sturdy, but the chairs are showing major wear. Still, I am sort of shocked we did it. Now I am having freakouts. We need to replace our kitchen counter tops and of course my husband wants to take down the wallpaper - previous owners' - and paint. So why not do both before the new set arrives? :rolleyes1 I'm sitting here wondering what I have gotten myself into! :) The good thing is this would mean the kitchen and dining area is DONE. I want home improvement projects that finish! Wait, do those exist?

Pedicures rule; we are all getting one on our trip! Drinkies and Pinkies! (And this is where you start to think, People pay her to write? For money?) :rotfl:

Okay, Boarders, keep talking! I'm listening!

Good evening to all,

This weekend went well DS surgery on his arm Friday was a success and he even went back to college this afternoon. The pin & screw they put in will be there forever and he does not seem to be in to much pain. Happy for him. I did well with eating, but not drinking so I am sure my calories were high. We had a 50th birthday party at a bar owned by them so it was basically an all nighter with free drinks (so I drank). Then the next night was card night with a group of high school friends which drinking was involved to. So I am sure eating well and drink bad does not add up to weight loss. I guess I just start again on Monday and drink lots and lots of water to flush my systom out.....

Today was a very rainy day, but a good on for house cleaning. I got many cupboards cleaned out. I found out you really should clean out your spice racks once a year. I had stuff in there from 5 years ago:scared1: But now it is all fresh and cleaned up....:)

And Dawn keep up the great job we both did it 2 years ago we can do it again.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Jodi, I am so glad your DS's surgery went well!

Your weekend sounds like a blast! What a great time with friends - and how can you turn down the free drinks? Fun!

I cleaned my spices out recently - it was pretty scary! :scared1:

I'm here. This weekend has been CRAZY!!!! The weather for the local home & garden show was perfect. It rained on Thursday and Friday, then warmed up to 58-66 for Saturday and Sunday. It was too wet for anyone to do anything in their yard, but they wanted to get out. So they came to the show!!!!

I ran and ran and ran. (and I literally mean full on run from one building to the next.) Hosted/mc'd 5 demonstrations over the weekend.

1. Lawn Care with Scott's and a local celebrity, (who I was on tv Saturday morning with - taped last Tuesday. I haven't watched the tape yet. I am too scared. You all know how I am my own worst enemy. I specifically didn't watch it Saturday morning, when everyone else was, because I didn't want to focus on it all day. But, everyone said I looked good, (apparently they shot from the shoulders down THANK HEAVANS), but Saturday night, I just couldn't watch it. I don't think I will, until I can without cringing. Maybe a month.)

2. Healthy Cooking with Pampered Chef, which I then ran over and bought the merchandise$$

3. Making a Living Wreath

4. Back Yard Critters Gone Wild - which is put on by the Master Gardeners, these women are hilarious. The show was Okra Infry and she was interviewing "pests", racoons, butterflies, bats, deer and such.

5. Building a deck. (Boring)

We gave away a 42" Plasma, and TONS, I mean TONS of door prizes. There were 92 exhibitors to keep happy and attendees too. It was a circus. I love it. It's so much fun.

I work by myself, for my husband, who you all know, is the shining star of my world. Everyone just loves him. He's the master carpenter, can do anything, blah, blah, blah. And, this weekend, I got to shine too. With other adults. It's very rewarding. And then, a business exec from a bank asked if I would help teach a business class for 4 weeks to 4th graders! I tell you, that was a big compliment to me. I am just usually so swallowed up by my husband, and right now I feel good.

Anyway, I came to catch up and barely anything has been posted. Apparently:
Nancy is going to WDW. You have been quiet about that little ditty!!!
Dawn is now posting her food, good for you Dawn.
Erica can go potty.
Kat's toes are sexy and
Liz is spending money

Caught up. Where the heck is everyone else?

I guess we'll get to hear about reunion horror tomorrow!!!

Ok, gotta go. I'm here in the office, getting a bill ready tonight, cause I am sleeping later tomorrow.

OMG you are so awesome!!!

1. I want to see the tape! YouTube!

2. Love their stuff.

3. Cool! How do you do that?

4. That sounds fun- I'd love to go to one of those.

5. Yeah, I'd skip the deck building one, mostly because we need a patio!

Please don't forget FREAKING OUT with the money spending. ;)

Oh, and Kat, you are made of awesome. I need to exercise like you do! On a day off!

Carry Me

Carry me to the time when I will wear your ring
Where fireflies dance and the crickets sing
Carry me far from the home in which I reside
Where shadows haunt and tempers hide
Carry me in your strong arms of love
Where safety surrounds and passion cries from above
Carry me to a glorious, wondrous place
Mystical, magical yet so full of grace
Carry me to a far reached, distant shore
Where "I love you" won't fall from my lips upon the barren floor
Carry me with you from dream to sweet dream
Carry me with you to sights yet to behold and unseen
Carry me through the night and throughout the next day
Carry me quite simply
Because I need to be
Carried away.

Just wanted to say thanks to Dan for showing me my smile..and to all of you for being my friend. I am truly blessed.

Happy Monday! I am off to the sports nutritionist in about half an hour...then I have like a 5.5 mile run to do....gotta get psyched up for that! I "indulged" this week-end as well....not food, but wine...too much. I figured that my new meal plan will be zero alcohol (which I am fine with for a while...just not too long! :rotfl2: ) so I figured this week-end, I better have my fill of wine! :lmao:

WOWZA Kat! The weight is just melting off of you!!! Nicely done!!

That's what I was thinking as well! Talk about progress!

OH- and did I mention that we are leaving for Disney TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY???

I'm with DWD on this....how come we have not heard about this trip before??? We need details....where are you staying? What do you have for ADRs? No holding out!

I did 4.5 miles in 50 min on the elliptical, on random level 7.

You are awesome! Great work-out!

Hey! I've been here the whole time, reading. Did you ever call a friend and not want to talk, but to listen? That's how I feel. Nothing much to say, but happy to listen for hours.

Welcome to my world! With 3 kids, my house always looks like a bomb went off, no matter how much time I spend cleaning!

I hear ya there...we are re-modeling 3 bathrooms and spent a fortune this week! It is fun, but always scares me when we spend money like that. And of course, the project isn't done yet! We got back to "functional" yesterday.

Pedicures rule; we are all getting one on our trip! Drinkies and Pinkies! (And this is where you start to think, People pay her to write? For money?) :rotfl:

I was totally thinking the same thing! I mean, we are already staying at SSR and let me tell you, at Christmastime they have the most incredible pedicure called the Peppermint Pedicure....truly the best pedicure ever. It was actually written up in Conde Nast (I think). So yeah...we are SO there!

Okay, Boarders, keep talking! I'm listening!

Glad everything went well! Sounds like you had a great week-end! Don't beat yourself up about the drinking...life is meant to be fun. Don't pass up the good life just to pass up some calories.

We know the truth here...you are the driving force behind the man that everyone else sees. Don't ever forget how much that YOU do so that he can look good. You are a total star--and I am so glad that you got to be recognized for that this week!

Later

Ok babes...off to find out how to eat! :rotfl2: I'll post a detailed report when I get back!

So far all I know is this morning he was having problems breathing and he was really dehydrated. My mom said they took his blood pressure and it was super low. This is his second time doing chemo and this set is supposed to be a bit easier than the last 6 month session he did but so far its not looking good. *sighs* I hate stress... :sad2:

Sarah, I am thinking of you and your father.

I have been swamped at work and at home this week. Hopefully, things will calm down a bit after this weekend. It is starting to get nice around here - finally - so I am hoping the weather will let me walk outside this weekend. I am tired of being cooped up in the house... I want to be outside!!! Besides, my dog needs a good walk too. I think he has some weight issues of his own that I am hoping to fix through good old fashioned exercise....

Talk to you later,
Goof

I hope you enjoyed the sunshine this weekend and got to enjoy some time outdoors. Both of my furry girls are rotund to say the least. They have been on diets for about 1 month and are doing well. The vet told us to cut out all treats and replace them with mini-marshmallows. They can each have 70 of them a day and they love them. They get 1 cup of dry food twice a day. It is working for the retriever but my mutt keeps sneaking food and has not lost as much. :sad2: She is a closet eater...:lmao:

I actually left work at 6:30 today! Met a friend for dinner, and since I had picked her up at the rink (she is a figure skating teacher), decided to go play pickup hockey from 8:45-10:15. I wanted to at least get on the ice before my league starts Apr 14th.

It was SO MUCH FUN! I was the only girl, but I managed to make the whole hour and a half and I wasn't hardly tired. I was afraid of being out of shape, since I haven't been on the ice since last Aug, but I did fine.

Hope that everyone had a great day!

I think it is so cool that you play hockey! I can barely stay upright on iceskates so playing hockey would never happen. Funny, my DS3 told me this weekend that he wants to play hockey. Of course, he also wants to be darth vader and a police officer when he grows-up.

Hi posse! Finally checking in....

The presentation and workshop went GREAT and I got lots of accolades from folks who are high up on the food chain, so that is a good thing. Glad it is over with...it has been hanging over my head for a couple of months now.

Three more weeks of craziness and then I slow waaaay down....looking forward to that!

I am kind of in limbo land as far as food goes....at least until Monday. So I am just eating super healthy and watching my calories and portion sizes, etc. And of course, I am working out all the freakin' time... My runs will start to get more intense beginning Monday and I am a bit stressed by that. My SHORT runs will be 40 minutes! :scared1: And my longer days will be 60 and 75 minutes. Running....for 75 straight minutes! I must be out of my ever-lovin' mind to have gotten myself into this. My first road race is one month from today...May 4th. It is a 5-miler and I am scared out of my wits that I am going to come in dead last. I specifically chose a race that allows walkers in addition to those running so that at least there should be a big group behind me and no one will be able to tell that I was the last of the runners.

I am gld the presentation went off without a hitch. You know you rock! ;)

Woman, you can do a 5 miler without a problem. Why are you stressing about it? Even if you do come in last which you most certainly will not, who cares, at least you can say you did it and it gives you a goal to shoot for the next time.

I was -4 today!! I was 173.2 this morning.

Swamped today, check back later...

WOW!!! You just keep on dropping!! WTG!!

The kids got home by 11:30 last night..and...guess who locked his keys in the Car today??:confused3

Let's just say Grumps was not Happy and felt sort of Dopey!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

:lmao: Poor, Dan!

OH- and did I mention that we are leaving for Disney TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY??? Should be jumping out of my skin excited, but I have SO much to do between now and then....and now it looks like I must clean my house SPOTLESS before I leave because tonight DH and I decided we should ask this wonderful young woman we know to actually house-sit for us and stay here while we are away (a major downside to having the animals we have is that you can't simply hire the kid next door to watch them...:headache: )

2 Weeks!!??? Excellent! All of the pre-trip carp will get done it just seems so daunting when it is looming over your head. We have to get a house/petsitter as well because of our birds. One of them is epileptic and needs meds twice a day so we have to get someone who is comfortable with birds. The dogs are easy but since we get the sitter we don't board them. It costs a fortune but what can you do?:confused3 Good luck getting everything done.

I saw this show last night and he really had some valid points. I am going to use this technique next time I want chocolate or fries. It can't hurt. So what if I look like a nut.

I hoe listing your food here helps keep you on track.

Jodi, I am glad to hear your DS did fine with the surgery. I was thinking of him.

I say party it up once and a while. Today is your do-over day. BTW, I had no idea spices went bad...:scared1: I guess I better check out my rack...spice that is.

Later

I love a good home and garden show! I can not even imagine what it must take to organize an event like that. :scared: Thankfully the weather cooperated with you.

You should be super proud of yourself.

:lmao:

Ok babes...off to find out how to eat! :rotfl2: I'll post a detailed report when I get back!

I am looking forward to the details. You deserved the wine after the remodel mess. We are getting ready to do our bathroom as well and I am not looking forward to it.

We celebrated DS2's birthday on Saturday and had 34 aduts and 7 kids under 5 at the house for the party on Saturday:scared1: I took the day off from work on Friday to cook and clean and it is a good thing since DS3's gymnastic class ran over and put us behind schedule. It was a fun day and the weather was perfect. I managed to eat pretty well with the exception of a bit too much potato salad. What is it with me and carbs? Yesterday was so rainy and and gross that we hibernated and played games and watched Disney movies most of the day. It was relaxing and fun to just be with the kids without having to go anywhere.
