In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Sarah - I am thinking of you and your family.... I hope things get better soon for you so that you can lay off the stress... Congrats on the 40 pounds lost!!!! That is amazing...

I have been swamped at work and at home this week. Hopefully, things will calm down a bit after this weekend. It is starting to get nice around here - finally - so I am hoping the weather will let me walk outside this weekend. I am tired of being cooped up in the house... I want to be outside!!! Besides, my dog needs a good walk too. I think he has some weight issues of his own that I am hoping to fix through good old fashioned exercise....

I will try to check in again later tonight to see how everyone is doing...
Erika - here's hoping your presentation went well.... we can't have our resident goddess stumble at work can we....

Talk to you later,
Goof

Great Joke--

Rick was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really
angry. She told him, 'Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds
AND IT BETTER BE THERE!! '

The next morning Rick got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up
she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in
the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway,
and brought the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

ohhhhhhh. That was awful personal for a diet theat. DESPITE that, I laughed out loud!

Munky - thinking of you.

Just checking in to keep up. Nothing exciting to share. Hugs. DWD.

So my 2 boys...AKA Dip and Sh!t...locked the keys in the car at soccer...which is only 40 minutes away from our house!:scared1:

(Please know I am joking with this monniker..kind of a running joke at our house...I also say they have a diagnosis of DAD...not ADD or ADHD...just plain ole DAD...dumb@ss dissorder! :lmao: Really we love each other...I promise...:rolleyes1 )

They are both blaming each other...shocker of the year...but bottom line...driver is responsible for keys...irt is their Dad's car...and no..he doesn't have a spare...

Soo..Mr. Grumpy came to the rescue...and I added myself and Treyner to his policy...so AAA is going to unlock the doors as we speak..they should get home around midnight...okay..I am not kidding but I am having dejavu right now...I am also panicking because I remember the car keys and my sons not being able to get home..these word choices...but nothing else...I hate that...always makes me pannick that there is something bad to tie in with why I can't remember...

Anyway...wanted to say again...Thank You God for Dan. :cloud9:

I am off to call them to make sure hey are safe...getting home after midnight on a school night is not okay... :sad2:

Sorry Dawn.

I actually left work at 6:30 today! Met a friend for dinner, and since I had picked her up at the rink (she is a figure skating teacher), decided to go play pickup hockey from 8:45-10:15. I wanted to at least get on the ice before my league starts Apr 14th.

It was SO MUCH FUN! I was the only girl, but I managed to make the whole hour and a half and I wasn't hardly tired. I was afraid of being out of shape, since I haven't been on the ice since last Aug, but I did fine.

Hope that everyone had a great day!

Hi posse! Finally checking in....

The presentation and workshop went GREAT and I got lots of accolades from folks who are high up on the food chain, so that is a good thing. Glad it is over with...it has been hanging over my head for a couple of months now.

Three more weeks of craziness and then I slow waaaay down....looking forward to that!

Kat--awesome that you got some ice time! Good to hear that you can still hold your own! Gives me hope for when I return to the ice, though I have no plans right now.

Dawn
--yikes! Yes, AAA is a MUST with teenage drivers, so I am glad that is getting taken care of. I am sure you will not relax until they are home and safe. Sorry for a bummer day.

Sarah
--hope your dad is ok. Sounds like he may be in for a rough spell. Keep us posted.

DWD
--How's the home show going? When does it end? And where is that video clip of you from the news....???? Hmmmm? BTW, I haven't forgotten you in terms of audio books...just haven't had time to breathe much recently. I'll get there at some point.

I am kind of in limbo land as far as food goes....at least until Monday. So I am just eating super healthy and watching my calories and portion sizes, etc. And of course, I am working out all the freakin' time... My runs will start to get more intense beginning Monday and I am a bit stressed by that. My SHORT runs will be 40 minutes! :scared1: And my longer days will be 60 and 75 minutes. Running....for 75 straight minutes! I must be out of my ever-lovin' mind to have gotten myself into this. My first road race is one month from today...May 4th. It is a 5-miler and I am scared out of my wits that I am going to come in dead last. I specifically chose a race that allows walkers in addition to those running so that at least there should be a big group behind me and no one will be able to tell that I was the last of the runners.

So is our weigh-in day now on Tuesday? I am so confused....I am too old for changes like this! :rotfl2: Doesn't matter so much for me this week as I am sure to be a samer. Shocker, I know... But next week once I have a new program, I am expecting to lose BIG.

Weigh-in day is Tuesday?? Did I miss that? I am sticking to Fridays because of the Peeps...

Gah, Apparently my dwarf name should be changed from Wifey to Lurky McLurkster :tiptoe: Stupid wedding plans have sucked up all of my free time. But while i haven't been posting.... i can SEE you!

Finally making a little progress! The scale showed i was down 5.0 lbs this week! After gaining and then being a samer, i'm pretty excited  If I could drop a couple more before my first dress fitting on the 13th I'm a happy girl!!!

So, a little murphy's law of money this week. Paid off the reception (and yes, i threw up a little in my mouth handing that kind of money over), bought the bridesmaid's gifts, the gift for the couple who is catering my shower tomorrow. My fiance's parents are paying for the honeymoon (whatever is left after my honeymoon registry) so we don't have a ton of money in there for that. We will have a cushion in may from our extra checks, but for the moment, we aren't strapped, but don't have much extra..... and then...... saturday, i get the phone call:

Bruce: Honey, my car, um, it just won't move
Me: Is it turned on?
Bruce: DUH! Yes it's on, it just won't move
Me: $(!@#*&@$(*&#%^#(*&$@#^(*& :headache:

We were told left and right, it's the transmission, OYE. We got lucky, it only ended up needing the radiator replaced, so it was just over $400 when all was said and done, but i don't exactly have $400 extra just lying around! :scared1: The worst part, when they went in to fix it, they noticed jack markings on the radiator, apparently last week when we paid Queensbury Tire (when we were out visiting the in laws) $85 for an oil change and to swap out his studded snow tires, they jacked it up by the radiator, when he went over a little baby pot hole, the thing just fell apart, gushing fluid EVERYWHERE. I'm so mad!!!!! But, as dawn and many other ppl said, Thanks goodness for AAA, at least i don't have a towing bill to pay on top of that!!!

I will try to be on more this weekend, My shower is tomorrow, i'm pretty excited. I get to see some of my close friends that i haven't seen in 5-6 years, i'm sure however, that the Spinach Artichoke dip and frozen umbrella drinks will get the best of me in the try to eat healthy dept :confused3 Oh well, its my party and i'll eat if i want to :upsidedow

A few new pieces of info for April Peeps Patrol vs. Body Boarders challenge...
1st...
Weigh In is still Friday morning....Results are not guaranteed to be posted till Tuesday...I originally had promised Sat...but some don't get me their stuff till Sat and Dan is gone every other weekend and quite frankly...it takes almost an hour total between the 2 formats we both use to gather all the numbers...then he tally's them. That is an hour sometimes he and I don't have at the same time. Hence Tuesday....

2nd....
I need to send out PM's regarding the magnets that need to be sent out. That will be done this weekend. I need to create a spreadsheet so no person get's the same magnet from the same person/same state preferably for quite awhile.

Please PM me when you send the magnet so I know it was done...maybe put a note in it saying your name and a little about yourself so it can create a little more info between sender and recipient.

When you get your magnet...please pm me so I make sure you are not upset you did not receive one. I know we all mean well but speaking for myself...I have forgotten things a time or two. :rolleyes1

3rd....
This may seem really petty...but pretty, pretty please...:worship:
PLEASE SEND ME YOUR PM"S in the form of current weight...not weight lost or gained. All those inconsistencies add to a few more minutes figuring out the totals and tallys. THANK YOU!!! :rotfl2:

4th...
I think it is only fair that if you make the commitment to be a part of this challenge..please commit to posting at least 2 of the 4 weeks. We all go on vacations/have life go crazy...so missing 2 times...okay...but please post each Friday if at all possible...if you miss posting...no biggie post next week..but your weight will not be considered for the previous week and it will be considered a miss.

Here is why...last month when people missed..and then went to post 2 or 3 weeks at a time...it screwed up all the totals for the top 5 and meant more work for Dan and I. You guys probably don't care...but I am not kidding that between my sense of guilt...Dan's OCD of perfection in graphs and tallys...it caused probably another2-3 hours of work for the month.

People may be saying...so just don't redo them...but I thought it was fair only to let you know ahead of time..no surprises...and hope you understand that I want this to be fun...for you and me..not stressfull.

I also think if you miss 2 or more postings...then you fall out of receiving a magnet for this month....

I probably sound like a dictator...but I am trying to be fair to everyone...senders of magnets may not have tons of money and if they are spending money to send a reward to you...it is a participation award as a team...and if you are not posting 3 of 4 weeks....you were not really being a part of a team that month. I am always trying to be fair...please tell me if you dissagree...I just thought that this was the fair way to determine who gets magnets.....
*****IF life gets crazy one month and you drop out...come back next month...I mean how many times can I count that I quit a weight loss commitment only to want back in next month.

Okay...that is all I have for updates....good luck everyone....Thank You for being patient with me....I hope you all are having a very healthy and wonderful April. :yay:

Does anyone live near Indianapolis??? I will be there April 16th weekend for a soccer tourney...DWD..I di not know how far you were?:confused3

Good morning everyone...

Dawn - Sorry to hear about last night's car key saga. I take it the boys arrived home without incident last night (otherwise you would be a whole lot more vocal about your worries....)

Erika - Congrats on the presentation. I knew it would go well. Godesses don't screw up you know....

Kat - Kudos on the hockey workout last night... It is not easy to get back into the swing of things after time off. I need to start looking for my golf swing soon. I signed up as a substitute for a golf league this (what was I thinking... I am not that good...) so I don't want to embarass myself...

our Disney bride - have a fabulous time at your shower tomorrow. Eat the dip and drink the drinks, but make sure to get a good workout in on Sunday to make up for it.

Sarah - still thinking good thoughts for you and your dad....

My week is going all right. I can't seem to shake my sweet tooth right now and have been snacking on way too many cookies. I am not sure why I am doing this (could be associated with my TOM, but who knows). I do know that I need to stop.... I will be stuck working this weekend on a project for work so at least all of the typing will keep my hands busy right? You can't eat if you are typing....

Hope everyone has a great day,
Goof

D.A.D. I love it!!! :rotfl: Of course, my DS16.5 stands firm in the belief that he cannot be held responsible for his actions, because his frontal lobe won't be fully developed until he's at least 21  (yeah ok - then I won't *fully* beat you! Only partially.... ;) but ALL of you is still grounded

YOU CAN DO IT! I know you can. Because if I did it, just about anyone can! :confused3 I ran 2 half marathons and a full....you've reached the point where your running has very little to do with your body and everything to do with your brain!

The worst part, when they went in to fix it, they noticed jack markings on the radiator, apparently last week when we paid Queensbury Tire (when we were out visiting the in laws) $85 for an oil change and to swap out his studded snow tires, they jacked it up by the radiator, when he went over a little baby pot hole, the thing just fell apart, gushing fluid EVERYWHERE. I'm so mad!!!!!

Yeah, I'd be having a little conversation with those oil change people. It'd definitely include a few key phrases - like "improper jacking", "major radiator damage", "resposiblity for the bills I'm now facing", "NEGLIGENCE" and "BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU" :furious:

quick :drive: by. DS surgery today at 2 he seems pretty calm, DD#1 went to court for speed, got it off her record, but is on probation for 1 year and had to pay her fine. I know that I am much more a worrier than most...but I want to make sure you all knew that I know you appreciate the work of the tallying...it was jsut w=one of thos estatements that could be read either wau and I wanted to clear any missunderstandings...

See..I am doing better...I would usually eat my guilty complex away!!:lmao:

The kids got home by 11:30 last night..and...guess who locked his keys in the Car today??:confused3

Let's just say Grumps was not Happy and felt sort of Dopey!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Bummer about the car! I hate spending money on things like that. Have fun at your shower--really soak it all in--don't let it go by too fast and journal about it afterward.

Thanks! Somehow I missed that you had done marathons! Yeah, I find that I can run for ages when I can get out of my head...the iPod audio books go a long way with helping that happen....

Glad everyone is home and safe. AAA is loving you guys this week, eh? Here's to a more peaceful week-end!

I am still swamped and still behind the 8-ball in every category. Way behind on work, house is a wreck, yadda yadda....

Erika, I think that I am on your team this week. I requested to switch to even weeks for y'all, and odd for the others, so that you aren't tortured every month by TOM.

I am really looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Mr Kat is working both days, so I can just putter around to my heart's content.

I was -4 today!! I was 173.2 this morning.

WOWZA Kat! The weight is just melting off of you!!! Nicely done!!

ACK. The story of my life...:rolleyes1

OH- and did I mention that we are leaving for Disney TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY??? Should be jumping out of my skin excited, but I have SO much to do between now and then....and now it looks like I must clean my house SPOTLESS before I leave because tonight DH and I decided we should ask this wonderful young woman we know to actually house-sit for us and stay here while we are away (a major downside to having the animals we have is that you can't simply hire the kid next door to watch them...:headache: )

Thanks!! I hope it just keeps melting...

Yeah, the week or so before and after vacations for me almost make it not worth it!

I gave in tonight and am having beer. We did stay somewhat dietary for dinner (lean hamburgers), but I am not counting tonight. I have staying around 800 all week which is likely not good, and I just don't care for today.

Hope everyone has a great night!
