In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Ah Lisa you are very kind, but trust me its there! Lurking on the bottom half! :rotfl:

That dvd was out of stock on the UK site, but it did recommend Pilates for Lower Back Pain and also Pilates for Dummies :lmao: - I ordered both!
I have requested an email for when the other one comes back into stock, but these two dvds should keep me going until it does!

You know pilates works. At times when I was heavily into it - I would get all these compliments on how I looked. Every time. Taller questions. Like I was having a second puberty? :confused3:lmao:

But I - of course - was obsessed with the scale and the number was not moving. I need to be more rational.

Thanks for the reminder Kelly.

Hope you love them.

Wait. Oh I LOVE pilates for Dummies. I went through many tapes but that was the one I kept with. She's a great instructor. The only issue with the tape is that she instructs before each exercise so to go with the flow I just ignored it and started early.

Hi Cathie :goodvibes.

I always think - can I do this for life? Always. Any choice I make. It's a slow way to lose weight but well it's a way.

I've said this to you before - and it's not a putdown Cathie - I really feel that it will be easier if you team up all your changes with working on some emotions. I'm not pulling this out of thin air. I've read your posts and I know you've got a lot inside you. I'm only typing this because you asked for our thoughts. And this road - not without its bumps for me like right now :3dglasses - has been a heck of a lot easier since I've worked through a few issues.

Also I believe success in weight loss is knowing when to be harder on yourself and knowing when you need to be more forgiving/loving to yourself. Both are needed. In balance. I struggle with that.

Good for you for recognizing that you love structure and do best with it.

Wouldn't ever take it is a putdown :) :goodvibesI really appreciate it. I do feel like I have emotional stuff going on.....the hardest part for me is knowing how to fix it/where to start, kwim? I started seeing the therapist once a week and it's helping sort out some stuff, and reminding me of stuff I already knew....but the message that's been coming across loud and clear is that I need to do something to help facilitate change if I want to change the things I don't like. This is just a first step. Some of the emotional stuff going on seems entirely out of my hands, though it's probably not as out of my hands as I think it is all of the time. But I need to fix me before I can start pointing fingers elsewhere, and this seems like the easier thing to fix right now, the thing I have the most control over. Plus, if I am doing something that requires stopping emotional eating, well, at that point I am going to have to figure out where the emotions are coming from. I think both things are going to facilitate each other.

Sorry if that sounds defensive or like I'm making excuses...hope it doesn't :) I'm just trying to say that the losing weight is on my laundry lists of things to tackle, and I always do better getting the easy stuff out of the way first :)

The balance thing....I struggle with it too. I want to be firm enough that I keep a commitment, and know when I SHOULD be disappointed in myself, but also forgiving enough that I am not constantly beating myself up. Wish there was some hard-fast formula for that, huh? lol

Cathie - I applaud you for working out a plan foy yourself. Having some structure really helps me so it may work for you too. I would be remiss if I didn't talk about emotions. Even if you didn't plan on dealing with them, don't be surprised if they find their way into your weight loss journey. They really tend to be intertwined. Remember that you are working on lifestyle changes here and how you deal with your emotions is part of that. In the end, you need to do what is right for you, but I was't prepared for some of the emotional crap I had to face to keep going and don't want you to facethose same surprises. Hang in there. You are in this for the long haul and it is going to be in for an interesting ride.

Which reminds me - KAT - The new series of CSI:NY starts on the 9th of January! I can't wait for it, Im desperate to know who, if anyone, got shot in the bar!

OMG really? We are like halfway into the new season!!

I am back in NC now... visit was about as good as family visits get, so that is a good thing. :goodvibes

Off to veg on the couch, been in the car way too long today.

Just survived another Christmas extravaganza! Today was our day with Stephen's family - 22 at my house from noon until about 10:30 pm. LOVE his family, so it's not a chore, it's just tons of fun, food, drink.

Had a kickass run this morning. My legs are SO sore right now. Did a 10K on the TM in 58:18. :dance3:

Nancy - water in your house?? I hope not..

no, no! Not in the house. In the yard thankfully.

Oh - one more thing...

just officially registered for the Princess Half!!!

It is tracking at 70% full now.

I'd better get on that!

Nancy - are you sitting down. It's a computer wish from me. :lmao: ;):rotfl:

Post your location in Connecticut for me. I want to see where your town is. If you don't want it out on disboards - PM me it.

ummm...if I tell you, will you come to visit me? :confused3 I'm very, very close to the airport.

“I was planning on going right to work after I come to the gym and I won’t have time to shower, so I figured that by working out in climate control I would be all set.”

Priceless! :lmao:

Tree is down.

still not done Christmas shopping. Honestly. Still have one more big family gathering in New Years Day.

GOOD MORNING!

Blustery day here. Wind chills right around 0* <brrrrr>

trying to have a somewhat normal day here, whatever that means these days

brrr it is badass cold up here this morning... like neg 15 degrees with strong winds cold.

Sucky day to be working outside. I am layered up and am quite the site when I go out there. :rotfl2:

Where is my snuggie? (Lyz - I got the leapard print one for Christmas and so want to wear it at my desk...)

Okay, I'm finally checking back in here! Anyone remember me??

I bagged the mickey marathon for several small reasons. Was sad about that for awhile but am starting my princess half training! Woo-hoo!

Work is good, Busy but good. Lots of stuff going on since we"re merging with another organization as of January 1.

I wish I got a Snuggie for christmas!! 39 degrees here this morning. I know it doesn't compare to the single digit temps but it feels freaking cold to me!!!!

I'm off work today and will be heading out for a run soon then off to grocery shopping!!

The wind here is freakin' insane. I felt like my car was going to get blown right off the road on the way home from the gym.:scared:

Hi Amy! :wave2: Missed you! Sorry to hear that the Mickey just isn't in the cards for this year. Princess 1/2 here we come! :thumbsup2

Holy badass wind! Yeah, it is well below zero with the wind chill here.

Amy! Funny, since I talk to you all the time on FB I didn't realize that you actually hadn't been here on the thread. Yes, Princess Half, here we come!

Rest day for me. 8 miles yesterday!

Paula--stay warm out there! Yikes!

BRRR!!!! My feet are starting to warm up. I will need to get in some extra warm up time to get these cold muscles going before my workout tonight.

E - yeah on the 8 miles...

I can't wait until the Princess. My reasons are more mental than anything. Yes, I would absolutely love to run the entire way, don't get me wrong. I know that is not possible at this time - the jog a bit, walk a bit approach is working well for me now. But just finishing would be awesome ~ basically a spit in the face to the naysayers who aren't in my life any more. Unleashing my inner badass. :rotfl2:

A friend of mine an I are talking about doing a 5K later in March together.

EE, try to find a 5k in January or Feb. to do. It will totally energize you for the Half!

Paula--how does the running feel on your knees?
Kat -- are you training?
Liz--check in with your plan as well!

I know that Nancy, Amy, and I are on track. Everyone should have a 5-miler under her belt by the first of the year. Paula did hers last week!

EE - I so get this... I am not above using a chance to prove someone wrong as an incentive to keep going. I am not planning on running the whole thing either so we can walk together.

E - the running has been short and limited to my short walks as opposed to the long one. Still trying to feel it out at this point. My fear of running is winning this battle for now, but I'll get there.

WORD!

check!

<sigh> The kids are definitely in the house  Home from college, hanging out. I've missed most of them (ha. not all though) New Years Eve could be interesting... :crazy2:

The good news on the day is I had a great work out. The bad news is, I've eaten more than a few of the many stinkin' goodies that still are in the house. They have got to go.

My walking/runnings have been limited lately to lunch lately. I just adore biking, so I really need to break myself of heading to the bike for a warm up. I end up going into my own little world (scary!) and next thing I know, my rear is numb and I've gone 15+ miles on the bike.

E - so far, the only race in my area is on January 1st. Hopefully, something else will come up soon.

Nancy - I hear ya on eating the junk.

Paula - It's kinda like sticking my nose in the air and saying the na na na na naaah na song.

EE - I had to stop using the bike too and oh, how I miss it. I use the elliptical for my warmup and it seems to be working for me. Of course, I am so going back to it once this race is over. Need to get ready for next year's races!

Good Morning Everyone,

All of you inspire me. I can't wait to be at your level next year for the 1/2.
I am still training, but it is baby steps.

Monday I did the treadmill, about 2 miles. walk/run.
Yesterday morning a quick 10 min on the elliptical, then I did wii fit for about an hour after work.

Today I have not done anything, I was running late.
I work for a hotel so this is a very busy time for us. One more week and all should be well.

I wish you all the best on the 1/2 and I can't wait to hear how it was.

Good morning!

I am determined to be "on" today. I've already had 28 oz of water :thumbsup2

I'm curious - has anyone been giving any thought to New Year's Resolutions? I'm not typically a big resolution maker. I tend to think that quite often we set ourselves up for certain failure by setting unrealistic expectations. But, it always seems that this time of year I get so reflective...thinking about the good things that have happened this year, and the not-so-good, and just what I want to do about that.
