In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Nancy, that's great news!!! :yay: :yay:

Thanks. :goodvibes Now just crossin' my fingers that he gets himself thru his Calc II class (which, but a twist of fate & major confusion...he didn't even need to TAKE! :headache: )

It's cold here. Just sayin'.

Where is "here"? Are you in PA now?

Where is "here"? Are you in PA now?

Yup. Checked into the hotel at about 6PM, and have a few moments before we head to dinner, around 7.

It was weird... 9 of us (7 employees + 2 spouses) all took the same flight and shuttle, so it felt more like a field trip than a business trip.

Just came on to say -

Cutie! Have a fabulous week! Yeah! So envious. I've been twice on that exact week. So perfect! Yeah for you! Here's to a fantastic time!

:rotfl2: Did you have your proper permission slip signed?

Have a fabulous time Kat!

NANCY! So happy to hear it! I was actually going to ask you, remembering that it was the 10th, but when you didn't say anything, I thought I should keep my mouth shut (and you know how hard that is for me! :lmao: ) Way to go, SETH!

And no, I'm not getting enough sleep, but then again I never do. Starting next week I should start to catch up a bit. But you are so right about the daylight (or lack thereof). It starts getting dark at 4pm! And is totally dark by 4:30. Such is life in the north, eh?

Nancy - So happy for Seth! Love Becca's comment.

E & Ronda - loving the Dr Bombay comments

Lyz - have fun!

Well it's going to get really cold here and then warm up this weekend. I forgot to talk about the conference I attended. We had a feng shui lesson. It was so much fun! Learned other stuff too, but that was the best.

eh? :lmao:

it's 9:30. what are your children doing? :confused3 Becca is currently baking a cake. For tomorrow. Morning. Apparently extra credit for English? :confused3

Paula, hate that. SO know what you are talking about. Sometimes the angry eyes just aren't enough, either.

Kat - Angry eyes so won't work on this one. Oh well, I have the weekend to figure it out since I am not going to work tomorrow. Have fun in PA and stay warm...

Bursting here. Pride & relief. Seth just called. He finally passed an official PT test this afternoon. :yay: Now...to just get himself thru Calculus II :teacher:

Nancy - whoo to the hoo for Seth!!! Awesome news there. The calc II test will be easy in comparison I'm sure.

Erika - rest, your body needs it from time to time. Or at least that is what you all tell me... just sayin'

Lyz - safe travels my friend. Have a great time and say hi to Goofy for me!

Lisa - this is for you... had my first 30 minute session with Jesse tonight. OMG the pace. That is going to take some getting used to, but I think it is going to be a good thing in the long run. Tomorrow, I'm sure I'll be cursing the boy as I try to walk, but what can you do. It is all good. Even got my 30 minutes of walking in so I am on plan for the 1/2.

Amiee - hope your end of the semester goes well for you.

Amy - how is life in the warmer part of the country?

Cathie - glad to hear things are warming up in Colorado

Liz - hope all is well with you

Ronda - how is the training going? still on track for January?

Thanks Lisa. I went last year but a week later. The reports on the theme park boards are it's very busy. I'm hoping it's due to Pop Warner and DISapalooza and on Monday everyone clears out.

Have a great time and say hi to Goofy for me!

I will Paula!

I am packed. My only hanging chad is my purse situation. I'm just not happy with my options. Going to sleep on it.

Oh and EriKa, loved the "virtues of a prevacation pedicure" voice mail. :)

Whoops. I thought we were on that week. My head. I too went your last year's week those times. :rolleyes1 I guess because Christmas is on a Friday it through me off.

Have fun!

Geez your half guys - it's coming quickly, eh?

So made me smile Paula. I can't wait to see how it goes for you. It's invigorating to hear about.

And perfect timing. I was just thinking that my body has shifted - smaller - feeling different - can feel a loss - really felt it in one of my workouts this week and then I took a fast peek at the scale with excitement and a smile and I *might* be up tomorrow. :confused3 I can't stand it. Just can't stand it. So frustrating. But will see tomorrow.

Nancy - so nice about Seth. :goodvibes

Toronto downtown got nothing but rain from this "storm". We stayed down there. Here snow galore. The one thing I hated about the city - lack of snow in the winter. What is winter without snow? Nonssense that's what it is.

Donkey Kong? :lmao: I could have had offspring playing Donkey Kong. :rotfl:You're such a youngin'. A cute yougin'. :goodvibes

Did someone say donkey kong??? Love it. Thanks paula. I hop to have my grade today for my last class. It's a chilly morning in Evansville.

Chilly here in CT too Amiee! I broke out the insulated overalls this morning. Now *there's* an attractive look! :rolleyes1

Lyz - have a fun WARM trip! oh - and thanks. Your Donkey Kong comment has me singing Honky Tonk Badonkadonk :upsidedow

Paula - 30 minutes with Jesse must have been intense! How are you feeling this morning?

Hi to everyone! TGIF!!! :cheer2:

LYZ!!! Today is the day! It was the first thing I thought of when I woke up! SO SO SO exciting! You will have to text me constantly! And absolutely, pre-vacation pedis are a must. MUST.

Purse--um hello? Don't like your options? BUY A NEW ONE DOWN THERE, shopping girl! :rotfl2:

Nancy--did you really just say insulated overalls? You are officially NEVER again allowed to tool on me about dressy fleece! :lmao:

Anyone know where Lyz is?

Nancy - awesome for Seth. Is this the Army push up, sit up, two mile run? I hated it.

more Nancy - coveralls? Makes me think of, "I can't put my arms down"

Erika - dressy fleece? There's more to this, I'm sure.

Modest cookie success. Our last installment found the intrepid cookie rookie with flat cookies. I tried a few changes and found some success. I have no idea which one really helped, but here they are...

1. not over mixing when the flour starts to go in. Thanks Nancy! I tend to let the Kitchen Aid fly and have no doubt I was getting my gluten in an uproar.
2. parchment paper. I'm still using the airbake sheets, but the parchment lets me get the cookies off the hot surface and onto the cooling rack right away. Stop baking, NOW!
3. Letting the dough sit in the fridge for a while. I scooped the chocolate chip cookie dough and dropped it on wax paper and stuck them in the fridge for an hour or so. Then directly to the parchment/cookie sheet and into the oven. It reduced the spread and left me with thicker cookies.
4. Take them from the oven when the buzzer goes off. I've fought this before, they don't look done. It's a leap of faith.

I'll do another couple of batches tonight and be well on my way to the ten dozen goal.

On to the sugar cookies. I halved Nancy's recipe and baked just a few last night. Trying to get a good feel for thickness and timing. They made really sturdy cookies. This is important as the decorating staff will be kindergarteners and younger. They were still tender and held their shape well. DGF sampled and pronounced them "shortbread like" which is just what I was aiming for. The rest of that dough is in the fridge and waiting to be rolled. It did take a lot of flour to get them to realease for rolling. I cut them on the parchment = perfect shapes. I've found an icing recipe and hope to glaze some to send to work with DGF next week.

All of this cookie and sugar talk may be inappropriate for a thread devoted to healthy ways, but it's all part of my moderation campaign. Tonight I will bake, have a glass of wine, do laundry and dance to Christmas music. In the morning there will be bags and bags of cookies to share with friends and it will give me a warm feeling (no small feat given the temp outside).

Hi to everyone! TGIF!!! :cheer2:

Nancy - feeling a bit sore this morning, but nothing I can't handle. It should all be good I think (or I hope...)

Ronda - the cookie baking sounds great. I may have to try Nancy's sugar cookie recipe too. I am off to the store to get my ingredients and then to begin the weekend bakathon...

Lyz - HAVE FUN!!!!!

Talk to you all later..
