In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Hi ladies!!!!

Still have to go back and read and catch up.

This was a craaaaaazy weekend but overall a good one.

Friday I took the day off work to do all my prep work and supplies shopping for the wedding cake. Friday evening Carlos and I spent some time with my best friend playing Wii and having some wine (well I did anyway, Carlos doesn't drink). It was a good relaxing night. Saturday morning was Jannelle's funeral. It was heart-breaking and comforting at the same time to see all the cards and flowers that had been sent to the family. Having a funeral for a young person is definitely different than for an older person. My grandpa's funeral was sad, but we knew it was his time. Jannelle's had such a different tone to it. This was such a tragedy and I think everyone could sense that. The church was amazingly packed, so much so, that they had to open the sanctuary doors and put chairs out in the lobby for the overflow. Wonderful to see so many people that cared.

After the funeral, I was a baking fool. I worked on the cake from 1pm until 1am Sunday morning, then Sunday got up at 8:30 and finished it up until 12 when I decided it was time to get myself ready. Only problem is that I forgot to take pictures with my camera! :scared1: Katrina (bride's daughter) was doing the photography though so I asked her to get a few for me that I could use for my cake book. Everyone loved it and I have 3-4 more orders just from people that came up to me while I was there. All the business cards were gone. It was a good day.

Today I am super tired but glad it's only a three day work week and no school!!! I think I'm getting sick again and I am BEGGING for it to not be swine flu again. Never want to be that miserable again in my entire life.

Hope everyone is doing well and I will stop by later!

wow - quiet day around here. Must be all of that turkey day prep work going on...

I survived my day! And I didn't have to make quite 100 pies...just 97 :scared: Tomorrow...well...I'll think about that later. Right now I'm enjoying a nice glass of wine :thumbsup2 (one glass. but don't ask how many times I've filled it.:rolleyes1)

Erika - seriously - all day I kept laughing to myself. Sorry :flower3:

Kat - did you end up changing gyms? I totally need the distraction when running - especially when running inside.

Dawn- :rotfl2:OMG so true with teens. But see - we were smart. Well, smart-ish anyway....the way our house is laid out, there is one bedroom close to ours - and he's now gone to college :thumbsup2

Paula -It's Monday. Just askin'.

E - Advantage, Ronda.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

nicely played Ronda.

Only 97??

I was thinking of dropping by on Friday... I have read that you get a better deal at gyms at the end of the month.

well...it *is* black Friday, so who knows what kind of specials they may have. :confused3 The worst that can happen is regular price, right? :confused3

So - this morning on the radio, guess what they were talking about! Zhu Zhu of course. It was so freakin' funny. Anyone having luck on the hamster hunt?

WOW, totally quiet day here. I was up on campus, as usual on Monday.

So, I have some really happy news. I just found out when I was on campus that I have been named "Professor of the Year" (Student choice). There are two categories--one chosen by the administrators and one chosen by the students. I will *never* win the admin. award, so I am thrilled with being the student choice. The school paper is doing an article, so I will post a link to it when it comes out.

Let me catch up whit the 72 e-mails that I received while at work, then I'll be back to comment here.

Nancy - glad you survived the 97 pies. Good luck tomorrow. Did not go to JC tonight since I was just there Thursday. My next appointment is next Monday. Counting on all of you to keep me honest this week. Also, mom switched things up and did Tuesday night dinner tonight due to a conflict tomorrow. Chicken parm - yum... didn't go crazy. Went to the gym and did 30 easy minutes on the treadmill. Trying to go slow and stretch the hamstrings to keep the pain away. New shoes are coming. Life got in the way this weekend. Next weekend definitely.

E-OMG! You have my sympathy. Been there, done that.

Kat - sorry about the hot tub.

Hi Everybody!

Will be back tonight to catch up. This class is killing me. It's only 5 weeks long, but we have a ton of research going on. My final paper is going to be on coaching to achieve optimal results (um, two birds & one stone). I'm going to try to make it as fun as possible while being professional.

Good morning! Time to get up and moving people! :goodvibes

feelin' perky this morning. I think it's the insanity setting in....

Morning everyone!

E - great news and what an awesome honor!

As for me.

Workout yesterday was pretty good and must have ate better than I thought with no tracking because I am down today again! :cool1:

I had a party yesterday that was so so - she is going to push for outside orders so we shall see...

Have Christmas stuff to decorate today and I am not in the Holiday spirit at all. Need to change that. Weather has been very odd here (in the 60's) for the past week (after snow in Sept/Oct) and more like spring than fall or winter.

Update on College saga for those who care about details! (Lisa I have not forghot the picture! ;))

Have all the info needed to Anderson so just waiting on his acceptance so we can confirm all the December details.

As of now - Chad will fly to Durango on the 15th to spend the day with Treyner (minus 1 final Treyner has that day) and then they will leave the morning of the 16th and drive to Nashville where Treyner will drop off Chad at the airport on the afternoon of the 17th. (20 hour drive) Then Treyner will continue on to Knoxville (4 hours further but double the airfare back to MN) where he will leave his loaded Jeep at my friend's house and we will meet him. (Dan/Carsyn and I) We will all spend the night there on the 17th.

Then we will head out early the 18th for the rest of the leg from Knoxville to Orlando arriving mid afternoon the 18th. Baylor will have been at Colorado the 14th - 18th in Steamboat Springs, Co. at the winter burn camp. He arrives back in MN at 4 p.m. on the 18th - and will directly get on a plane at 5 p.m. for Orlando. (Direct flight.) His plane arrives at 9 p.m. and we will pick him up at the airport. My sister will pick up his luggage from Colorado - and we will have his other suitcase so he will need to do nothing but get on the other plane. The nurse flying with them will get him to his gate.

Thus ends the saga of how to get 5 people to Orlando with 2 comming in from Colorado.

We will spend time at Disney until the 23rd and then drive home - stopping at Anderson the 23rd to see the campus since nobody has. We will be home sometime the 24th. No big Holiday Christmas on Eve or Day so no huge rush to get back for.

Treyner will fly back to Knoxville on January 8th/9th and drive the 4 hours to Anderson. (I guess they had a rock slide in the area so a road is closed that would normally do the drive in 3.) He starts school there the 11th.

The coach at Fort Lewis will make his cuts/decide his team over Thanksgiving from what I hear. (They are in the semi-finals for NCAA II so it is crazy busy there right now) If the coach tells Treyner he wants him to stay and offers him money - I am going to cry. I am not sure that Treyner would choose to stay at this point at all but it would throw something else into this cluster of a mess.

So I am sorry if I have been distant lately but there has been so much time spent with all this crud and rushing to finalize things that last year took his whole senior year to do! The good news though is you do become faster with it all once you have done it before! Carsyn will be a breeze! :worship:

Off to make breakfast for the kids and get to the Y.

Hop everyone ahs a great day!:)

well Ladies I am proud to announce that I joined a ladies gym yesterday for 6 months :yay::yay::yay:
Congrats and what great news!
Good morning! Time to get up and moving people! :goodvibes
Amen sistah!
feelin' perky this morning. I think it's the insanity setting in....

Ah ha! That's what this is I feel. Knew I recognized it from somewhere before but couldn't put my finger on it!

Lyz, I will have to start looking for the hamsters too. Granted, I rather avoid stores this time of year, but I also spend way too much time in Walmarts.

Thanksgiving here should be pretty low-key. We will go to his parents, about an hour south of here, but it will just be for lunch, so we should be out by about 10:30AM and then back home around 4PM or so. D has to be at work at 5:30AM on Friday, so no lingering. I am just happy because this year I don't have to cook!!

My parents are coming down for a few days, Sun-Wed AM. Because of where our bedroom furniture will have to be placed due to its size, we are lacking a cable outlet where we will really need one. Also, we have some wiring work downstairs that we have been putting off... so, Mon/Tues of next week I am taking vacation to tear apart my walls/ceilng and wire up the house. Whee!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Kat - I hope you never want to move. You've tweaked your house to perfection!

Yes!! Go to the toy dept. The Zhu Zhu's will be around the Littlest Pet Shop toys or maybe around the baby doll area.

Good morning! Time to get up and moving people! :goodvibes

feelin' perky this morning. I think it's the insanity setting in....

Ahh, insanity!!! Totes!

I went to Walmart at 9am again this morning. They were unloading toys, but no Zhu Zhu's! I'm getting anxiety over this. And I don't know why. Like, I'm ok if I don't have one Christmas morning, I'll be able to find them a week later, I'm just so darned competitive. Like I daydream about myself arriving at Walmart and the shelves were just stocked. So I toss two of everything in, for Maddi and Kelly, and then I relax. I pass by people who realize what I have in my cart and they start running towards the toys. Hahahaha, I'm crazy right! In actuality, I'll probably be the one running after I see someone else's cart.

Busy here. Must stay ontop of my game, with Thanksgiving this week and vacation in 3.5. I changed our flight yesterday. We now arrive Fri Dec 11 - and leave Fri Dec 18!

Oh and I haven't shopped for anyone else. Gonna be a gift card/cash year.

DAWN!!! I can't believe the plans. Talk about involved!

So, this I call Zhu-Zhu Gate.

Chapter 1

My plan this morning was to get the kids on the bus (7:30) and then zip up to the grocery store to do my Thanksgiving grocery shopping. The grocery store is 20 minutes away, conveniently located next to Target. (Right, we have no grocery store of size in town, just our little market.)

Knowing that Target opens at 8, and knowing that you have to get there at 8 in any hopes of getting a Zhu Zhu, I figured--What the hell? I'll drive by and see what the line is like. It is only 12 minutes before 8. There are 4 women outside waiting. 2 moms and 2 grandmas. I approach the crowd. They are all chatting about the zhu zhus. I'm in the right place.

It seems like they all know each other, but I quickly learn that they only know each other from the previous 3 days of standing outside the doors at 8am. They are all very friendly and just want this damn toy for their kids/grandkids. They have a pact, they will each only take 2. They ask if I am ok with this. Sure. I only need 2.

They keep looking over their shoulders and saying things like "so far so good," and "the coast is clear." What freaky cult has Lyz gotten me into???

Then they tell me about the past 2 days. Apparently, there have been 2 men who have showed up every morning, and when the doors open, they literally elbow these ladies out of the way and buy up ALL of the zhu zhus and accessories before anyone else can get back there. One of the guys is very large and he blocks the aisle while his partner in crime sweeps everything on the shelves into their cart. Apparently, yesterday they got 15 of the little suckers, which was all the store had gotten in that day.

And you just KNOW these guys are doing this to sell them on eBay for $70 or something.

This one grandmother is just so upset about the whole thing. She really wants to get this for her granddaughter and visibly stressed out that the men are going to show up again.

So you know me---competitive to the core. After hearing this story, I'm ALL IN. These women are getting the damn zhu zhus, screw the big bullying men who only want them to turn a buck.

I tell them we need a game plan. We work it all out--two of the women will run interference while I sprint to the back of the store with the other two women. We'll stand 3 across in the aisle and not let the guys around us. If they make physical contact with any of us, try to elbow or push past us, Meredith (one of the grandmas) is going to blow her rape whistle. I let them know that I'm not above throwing an "accidental" knee or elbow to the groin, and they think is FABULOUS.

And here's the thing. If these guys were decent, it wouldn't be an issue. Everyone would calmly walk to the back of the store, there would be enough of the damn zhu zhus to go around and for everyone to get two. But no. They got evil. And now they are going to meet me.

Anyway, eventually the Target employee came to open the door and told us that there were no zhu zhus delivered that day. The men never showed...they must know ahead of time when shipments are coming in. We all decide to come back again tomorrow. And like I said, now I am committed.

Stay tuned for Chapter 2.

I have to go there anyhow sometime this week to get ritz crackers and half and half to make scalloped oysters... maybe I will stop by today at lunch.

I am so excited for your trip!! What a good Christmas present. Do the girls know you are going?

We don't want to move, at least not for the next 5 years or so. I love the location and the house more than meets our needs. Anyhow, if we do have to sell, these are only value-adds, I would think... in-wall/in-ceiling speakers for 7.1 surround, totally wired house, cable in every room, that kind of thing.
