In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Well, I was able to get in a short walk during lunch today (20 minutes) :cool1:
It was beautiful outside and hopefully I will take another one when I get home.

Dawn -- That's awesome news about the room rates! :thumbsup2 You are so lucky to be going in December. I have to wait until next year sometime to go. Hoping for December, may be able to go earlier depending on any discounts.

Erika -- Loving the pics! It sounds like your Jeff and my Jeff (DH) are probably related. Mine hates loud meals with lots of people and really dislikes crowds. Wow, guess WDW is NOT the place for him huh? :confused3

Well, guess I should get some work done. Talk to everyone later!

Nancy - I just watched AR. Interrupted at 8:22 for Jean to dance with Faith Hill of course. Anyway, what did you think?

Let's see. I think the Globetrotters were GENIUS to ask if they could borrow a calculator....and I feel really badly for Mikka (sp?). As she was freaking out at the top of the slide I had flashbacks to Mexico last year. I knew if I climbed that pyramid I'd regret it, but only until I got back down...but if I *didn't* climb it, I'd regret it for the rest of my life. Not going down that slide is something that she now has to live with. I was so wishing for her sake that she would just do it.

Bob is going to Urgent Care tomorrow. We think he has strep throat. He is miserable. Didn't figure this out till tonight. Just kept thinking it was the flu.

How'd he make out? :confused3

Nancy--today is the day! Start with water, k? I have already had 36 ozs so that is a good start. My body will be shock when I try to give it a measly 1200-1500 calories! :rotfl2:

Well, don't great minds think alike! When I got up this morning, my goals for today were 1) drink my water 2) get to the gym ASAP to maximize my workout time before work 3) eat only what I brought with me to work today, no extras. (I'll report on these goals later)

I talked with Erin this morning- she's going to work with me on this. I totally need the kick in the a$$ right now. I've gained 5 lbs since the beginning of October. And I'm not talking the "I ate Chinese food last night and am totally bloated today" weight. Legitimately 5 lbs of fat. <bleh>.

I forgot to mention that I am doing a half marathon in 4 weeks.

Listen to you all nonchalant. Oh, btw :rolleyes1 Seriously though - that's awesome!

This is all in addition to my normal job of office manager/personal assistant to the *star* and housewife & mother of the year. Just sayin'.

Some jobs deserve hazard pay, dontcha know.

Presentation is done... Rocked it...

Now I just want sleep, alcohol and chocolate but not necessarily in that order. Unfortunately, I have to catch up on everything that I missed at the job site while working on the proposal....

:woohoo:Yay Paula! Let's see. Today's Monday. Hope things go well for you tonight! :thumbsup2 If you're toasting your success with a glass of Dad's red wine, remind him again how much I loved it, k? :lovestruc

Dan and I went this morning and it was good.

:yay:

And by the way--STILL no costumes for the kids! We have NO idea what to do! I need EASY, at this point. And available. I usually have Halloween taken care of by Labor Day for just this reason. Help!

Three Little Pigs. You can be the big, bad wolf.

Is it possible Dan is more sexy than before to me? I am thinking so since we just found out the benefits for him as a cast member! :cool1::worship:

Wait, WHAT?:confused3

But today I got a phone call offering me an educational place to.........FLORIDA!!!!! :cool1: Yep, on the 20th of November Im flying to Florida for 5 days, staying at the Universal Resort, doing the Universal theme parks - such an amazing opportunity! Im so excited I almost ran home from work!

SO EXCITING KELLY! That's awesome! :dance3:

Welcome DawnC. :flower3:

DawnC - I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and good discounts!
Kelly - Girl you are so lucky! That is awesome and I am so excited - I wish I was going to be down there then to see you! Do you go by yourself then or with other co-workers?
Nancy - Dan got a part time job at the Disney Store here and it has some great perks. Not free admission like Florida cast members or anything - but hotels at a discount - other member perks offered and a huge one being hotel rooms!
They were offering a Holiday special for cast members that we took advantage of - better deal than the free dining discount code I had originally booked for Dec.
This will mean more frequent trips probably since so much less expensive. He was planning on only working a while - I think he is afraid he can never quit knowing the deals! :thumbsup2

Kelly! SWEET! That's awesome! So happy for you! Great job on getting to the gym, too!

Paula--Woo to the HOO for rockin' the presentation! Natch. ;)

Lyz--update on the Bobcat, please.

Nancy--way to go! I did well, too. God, I can't believe all of the toxins that must be in my system! Time to flush 'em out!

DawnC--need more 411 from you! :rotfl2: Kids? Ages? We know that you are 34 and married to a Jeff. ;) What do you do for work? And you are in Cali right? How often do you get to DL? If you have been lurking, then you know we need all of the details all of the time about everyone. :lmao: And of course the most important question...where do you stand with Edward? :)

Dawn - LOVE a discount. Yes, he won't be able to quit now! I'd like to get a job at our local jewelry store for the perks.

So today at work I got the most AMAZING telephone call. You guys know I work in travel right? Well, years ago one of the main perks of the job was educational trips. A tour company would send you someplace and you'd do hotel visits, sightseeing - everything a customer would do but its free! Its hard work and not a holiday, but they are good fun!
Well lately educationals are very few and far between.

KELLY!!!!:dance3: Awesome Good News!!! I too want to know if your going by yourself or with a group? Details woman!

Let's see. I think the Globetrotters were GENIUS to ask if they could borrow a calculator....and I feel really badly for Mikka (sp?). As she was freaking out at the top of the slide I had flashbacks to Mexico last year. Not going down that slide is something that she now has to live with. I was so wishing for her sake that she would just do it.

I was yelling at the tv!!!! She should have done it. Horrible. Now, "I" would NEVER do a slide like that, but I also wouldn't apply to be on the Amazing Race. I could never eat gross things either.

How'd he make out? :confused3

Yeah, the line for Urgent Care was out the door when they opened, so he didn't go. He did get a prescription for an amoxicillin, so I'm crossing my fingers. He's so miserable and not even hungry. I'm starting to get worried.

Well, don't great minds think alike! When I got up this morning, my goals for today were 1) drink my water 2) get to the gym ASAP to maximize my workout time before work 3) eat only what I brought with me to work today, no extras. (I'll report on these goals later)

I know! I can literally see my butt is bigger than last month. I'm going insane here.

Three Little Pigs. You can be the big, bad wolf.

Ohh, good idea. Get some of those pig snouts.

Paula--Woo to the HOO for rockin' the presentation! Natch. ;)

WORD!

DawnC--need more 411 from you! :rotfl2: Kids? Ages? We know that you are 34 and married to a Jeff. ;) What do you do for work? And you are in Cali right? How often do you get to DL? Yes. Edward. Yummmmmmmy.

Hey everybody! Home early from class because the session ended tonight. Unless I screwed up the paper, I have another A. I haven't read a thing, but I will be back.

Friday—time to leave

Again we slept and Jeff and I each went for a run. I finished packing up the last little odds and ends by 10am and we didn’t need to leave for the airport till 2. So we had choices; (1) back to the pool for a few hours; (2) back to DTD for any last minute shopping; or (3) I had ADRs for the character breakfast over at the Poly. We chose the pool!

It was the hottest day we had all week, so it felt wonderful! It was about 90* but still not humid! Kids had fun…and were also sad that it was time to leave.

Happy to be in the pool....

004-2.jpg

And sad that it was our last day...

005-4.jpg

Got everyone changed and into the car. I swear, this trip was harder leaving than any other.

Sad Kel—

002-3.jpg

The kids were just like, “Turn around! Go back! I’m not ready to leave!” Heartwarming and bittersweet all at once. We all booed when we drove out through the gates.

Since we were taking different flights, I dropped the boys off at their terminal, then zipped around and did curbside check-in for me and the girls, then went and returned the rental car. We zipped through security and were early, so we decided to have lunch in the airport. You know, they have a TON of good restaurants there. If you ever have to be stranded at an airport, this would be a good one.

008-3.jpg

I had told MIL the night before that we would meet her at the gate. She wasn’t too happy about this, but since we were returning a car and going from one terminal to the next, there really wasn’t any other way. She wanted us to meet her at security, but there was just no way to make that happen, so I told her she would have to get herself to the gate and if she absolutely couldn’t manage, call me on my cell and I would come to where she was.

012.jpg

But as I said, security was a breeze, so by the time we finished lunch and got to the gate, she was there waiting for us—and absolutely fine. She seemed pretty relaxed and said it was easier coming back than it was going out.

Once again she sat across the aisle from me and the girls, which was fine.
Back in NH it was 45* when we landed! Ouch! What a rude awakening. I got all of the luggage and then had MIL wait with the girls while I ran to get the car and would then pick them up curbside. It’s a small airport, so this was supposed to only take a couple of minutes. Got to the car…DEAD. Totally dead. I checked and my lights weren’t left on. The alarm wasn’t left on. It could only be that the kids left the interior lights on (which they are forever doing). Ugh. Of course, MIL doesn’t ever leave her cell on. She only uses it when SHE needs to call OUT. So I couldn’t call her to tell her what was going on, which meant schlepping back to the terminal to let her know that I had called AAA and they were on the way. They were there in about 20 minutes, jumped the car, and we were on our way. Sucky way to come home after vacation.

In the car, I told MIL that I would stop and get her something to eat before she left our house for her house since we didn’t have any food in the fridge. This is when she informed me that she wasn’t driving home tonight but staying over. WT F?!?!? Now? You are telling me this NOW? Does she have any idea of how much we have to do tonight? (We had 12 hours at home…TWELVE…and then had to be back out the door the next morning to get up to the lake house.) Nightmare. I didn’t say anything at this point, deciding that it was up to Jeff to deal with her. When we finally got home, there was no food (of course) and the house was freezing since the heat had been off all week and it had been cold. So she decided that she would stay with BIL. Phew. That was a help—and I didn’t even have to be the one to say, Hell no you aren’t staying here.

We all crashed hard. Kelly was so bummed that she needed to be surrounded by all of her Hundred Acre Wood friends…

016-3.jpg

It was a GREAT vacation.

And now, my friends, my trip report is complete. Until 10 weeks when I go back for marathon week-end. :cool1:

Evening ladies.

Afraid I need to vent, already. I know I am new here, but had a bad day at work and of course I went for a drink after work with a friend. I didn't do too bad with the drink or appetizer, however, so that is a positive. Just have a beast for a boss and she makes our lives miserable at work. Most of the time, I can handle it because I'm not usually included in the mess, but she involved me in it today and after 9 years working for her, I think I have finally had ENOUGH! :headache:

Erika -- Details huh? Let's see. I have been married for 14 years (yes, I was a young bride). We have no children of our own but DH has a daughter from his first marriage (he is older than me). She is 20 and I think of her as my daughter. She just returned from her Army Reserve training about a month ago and is living with us again until she finds her own place. We are soooo proud of her and her choice to join the Reserves  I work in auto insurance and am essentially an Underwriter (I have a more glorified title but mainly I train new people and stuff like that). I live in Northern California and have for most of my life except for the short time I lived in Missouri and 3 years in So. Cal. I do have to say that I have only been to Disney World once (a long time ago) but we have been annual passholders to DL for years (this year is the first year that we are not). And, Edward huh? Well, I am ashamed to say that I JUST watched Twilight for the first time about 2 weeks ago when my daughter asked me to watch it. Give me another chance to watch it and really analyze him, then I will give you a better answer ;)

Hope everyone is having a good evening tonight!

EriKa - loved your T.R. Yes, MCO is a great airport. Why do your kiddos always swim in shorts and shirts vs. suits? I TOTALLY FORGOT about the MIL. Well, that went ok in the end.

DawnC - Edward reads better than the movie. In my opinion. Do you read? How old are you again? I've been married 14 years also, I am 32. I have a 13 year old diva and a 6 year old worry wart. Both chicas.

Oh, Marvin is struggling tonight. 2 seizures. Poor little pup.

I insist on rash guards and shorts...Irish babies. OMG, they are SO fair. So I try to keep them covered as much as possible. Plus, we live at the beach. They are called rash guards for a reason. Beach rash HURTS. We also boat, don't forget, and we need the rash guards for all of the boating activities, so it's just what we do. Jeff and I wear them, too.

Yes, Edward must be read to be appreciated.

Poor Marvin!

Hey everybody! Home early from class because the session ended tonight. Unless I screwed up the paper, I have another A. I haven't read a thing, but I will be back.

Yeah on the A.... whoo to the hoo!!!!

Oh and Paula--JC report. Need to know.

JC went well. Lost 2.7 pounds this week which is a miracle considering. Made it to the gym and got some treadmill time in and am not tinkering with the computer to get it to function normally again (losing the battle though, but refuse to give up the war!).

And yes, it is time for a signature change if my computer will let me.

Am about to hit the wall soon, but I promise to get to that proper post tomorrow and fill you in on all the details from the past week - it was a doozy...

CONGRATS PAULA! :cheer2::cheer2:

I do love to read so I will definitely start Twilight again after I am done with the new Dan Brown book. Boy, with being home during recovery, you would think I would have been able to get more reading done. I feel so far behind you guys ;)

moving up, to the MOST important response of the night....

CONGRATS PAULA!

That is one fabulous accomplishment my friend. So, so very proud of you! :cool1:

<ahem> Getting myself settled back down now...

Nancy--way to go! I did well, too. God, I can't believe all of the toxins that must be in my system! Time to flush 'em out!

Saying that I did "well" maybe exaggerating a bit. Better. But not perfect, that's for sure. I did get in a good workout, drank my water. However, I did have one little gingersnap cookie at work - I find them so.hard. to resist when they are warm right out of the oven :rolleyes1 And Stephen poured me a glass of wine tonight. Small. Restaurant size, so for me that's teensy. I did drink it, but didn't go back for more. So, minor victory there. I need to locate my wagon before I can dust it off and get back on it!

I had told MIL the night before that we would meet her at the gate.

:lmao: I wondered about this! Glad it finally all worked out for you!

She is 20 and I think of her as my daughter. She just returned from her Army Reserve training about a month ago and is living with us again until she finds her own place. We are soooo proud of her and her choice to join the Reserves

My oldest is a freshman in college - ARMY ROTC. But, if you've been lurking for a bit you probably knew that already...

Watching last week's BL. OMG, I hate Tracey.

Yep. Can't stand that woman either. I don't think she's mean like Vicki was, just....clueless. She always looks so confused - like she can't possibly understand why people there don't like her. Dumba$$.

Oh, Marvin is struggling tonight. 2 seizures. Poor little pup.

Poor little dude! Hope the pills do the trick for that hubby of yours. Just keep those germs away from YOU! Lysol is your friend!

Headed to bed. I think tomorrow I'm going to write my daily goals down and keep them out where I can see them. I need to pull out every trick in my book right now and stop this madness before things get any worse!
