Hey everybody. It's a Monday, that's the only way to sum it. Will be back later.
I know far too much about hot, sticky weeks in North Carolina!
Next time you should come with him and we can sneak off to the beach...
On the plus side, I lost another 2-1/2 inches - mostly from my hips and abdomen (halleluia!) so I am calling the week a victory.
Good Morning Everyone!
Dawn -
Amy - Congratulations on the new job
Ive been so busy here with work I feel like I haven't checked in here in forever! Im still plodding along with the tracking and the water, exercise this week has seemed like much harder work - its been constantly raining so I haven't been able to go out for a walk so all my exercise has been done indoors - im going stir crazy!
Tonight I am going out with my best friend - Im actually her 'plus-one' at a family members birthday party. She doesn't want to take a date with her, theres no-one shes interested in and she doesn't want to field the 'why aren't you with a date' questions on her own so Im her date! It should be fun, letting our hair down for a night! Lots of dancing so thats todays exercise sorted<---(that is actually how I dance!)
Have a great day everyone![]()
Hey, hey, hey? That HAS to be FAT ALBERT!
OMG. That must be it. HAS to be. Love me some Dumb Donald...and Rudy & Mushmouth!
I'm right, right?

Have fun tonight Kelly!
Ok people. WAKE UP! Come out and play!![]()
.....Don't make me break out my whistle.
Hey everybody. It's a Monday, that's the only way to sum it. Will be back later.
Amiee - WORD!
Long day for me too. JC went all right. My usual consultant went home sick so I met with someone else. Not quite the same. So I am up .3 pounds for the week. I am blaming the vodka because I am sure it had nothing to do with the massive amounts of smoked cheese spread that I slathered on crackers and shoved in my mouth. On the plus side, I lost another 2-1/2 inches - mostly from my hips and abdomen (halleluia!) so I am calling the week a victory.
Challenge results (a few days late - forgive me Erika)
strength training - 3 times
cardio - 3 times
water - good
staying on plan - eh...
Typical Monday night for me. JC, dnner, cardio workout at the gym, grocery shopping, laundry and cleaning up around the house. Hope you all are having more fun than I am at the moment.
Ok, so this is officially the longest I have gone without posting to the thread since it started 20 months ago. Can't say that there is any one particular reason why I haven't been posting...lots of little things adding up, I guess.
Anyway, today was awesome. First off, it was gorgeous. Perfect New England summer day. That always helps. Then, I had an awesome talk with Lyz (thanks, again) who totally talked me down off the ledge.
Took the kids to the club, where the boys (that's the cabana boys) were goofing around with me and giving me the royal treatment. I had no idea why. But they were making fools of themselves falling all over the place to attend to me. Getting drinks, fixing my umbrella, all sorts of craziness. It was fun and funny, but I had no idea what was going on.
Finally, after about an hour I went up to the bar to see what was going on. Turns out Dan (my summer husband) had promised them all rounds of drinks if they could get me smiling and laughing (I had a bad week-end and totally collapsed on Dan). So that was the deal. It was fun, though.
Then tonight I went for a 5-mile run and finally, FINALLY got to chat with my running boyfriend. We have been doing the flirt-n-run game for months and months (thus, why I have dubbed him my running boyfriend). We run the same route pretty frequently. So it started out as nods/waves as we passed each other going opposite directions. Then it moved to short little exchanges, "Gotta get the run in before the rain starts" and other little quips. After that, it graduated to running talk, but still benign. Things like "Crazy man Johnson let his dogs run loose again, so watch out ahead." Or when I told him he could store his half-way water in my mailbox. The next phase had us busting on each other good naturedly. He would say, "WOW, look who got a fancy new running shirt..." while I would comment on his nasty old paint-splattered shorts.
But today, TODAY we were both running at the same time in the same direction. It was a first. He caught up to me (naturally, since he runs faster). And we were both like, "Wow, I can't believe we are actually on the same side of the street!" We introduced ourselves (his name is Graham and he is OMG Hottie McHot Hot) and we had a nice conversation for like a mile and a half. Finally I let him go on ahead because I knew I was holding him back. But it was all so fun!
Now I have to tell Jeff that in addition to my Summer Husband (who he knows and is friends with) that I have a running boyfriend.
So today--
5 mile run
100 squats
100 lunges
cores = d.o.n.e.
Hay, hey, hey it was FA!!!And what was I thinking being a bigger than average kid walking around with a Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids lunch box.

Does anyone want me to update the challenge chart? Looks like we may need a kick in the A$$ around here. Hmmm....who would be the right person for THAT???

SO. Summer husband...cabana boys...running bf.....real-life husband....thats kinda like some twisted version of a purse for every outfit!
HI LAR IOUS! But yes, I have a strange way of collecting men....![]()
Let's see - not that I'm keeping score.![]()
Erika - three plus cabana boys. Lisa - no dates.![]()
Lisa - I know!!! How does she expect us single gals to have any fun when she is hoarding all the cute guys???
Well, both my summer husband and my running boyfriend are married, so they aren't exactly available (except to me, that is). And the cabana boys are all single, but they are babies (mid-20s), so not dating material.
And speaking of my summer husband, it is time to go meet him right now.:
k....off to gather children & goats and head to the tv station! ttyl[/B][/COLOR]
Ups and downs, really. But I have been meaning to contact you for the past couple of days. We are going to be in Toronto, it seems, this coming week-end. I will e-mail you!
No can do. The cutie is my therapist at the moment. And I am not good at sharing!![]()

Good Morning...
I was flipping through the blog page of my local paper's website and they have a blog called "The List" and every day it is five ways to... This morning's entry was about weight loss and was taken from the Weight Watcher's website. I thought it was kind of interesting and a good reminder for us all so I thought I would share. Enjoy.
Losing weight isnt easy. On that, we can all agree. Thats why believing in your goals and keeping a positive attitude can be as important as improving your diet and becoming active, according to the Weight Watchers Web site.
People struggling to lose weight often talk about their lack of willpower, as if willpower is something that you are either born with, or not, says Palma Posillico, vice president of training and development for Weight Watchers International. Losing weight is all about wantpower about recognizing that you already have all the resources you need to get what you want.
Here are some strategies from an article on the Weight Watchers Web site:
1) Plot your goals. It helps to have an action plan. Storyboarding is a technique used by movie directors to sketch out a plot line, frame by frame, before they start filming. In a similar way, you can make a blueprint for success by breaking your goal down into parts. Say youve given yourself three months to lose 10 pounds. Make a chart of the timeline and build it up, week by week, with details of shopping strategies, exercise tips and so forth anything that helps make your goal concrete and achievable.
2) Envision your success. Athletes mentally rehearse every step of their winning routine to make it feel attainable. In the same way, you can make your own goals as real as possible by visualizing yourself succeeding in particular scenarios, like making the right choices when dining out. Revisit these scenarios often, and think about how good youll feel about achieving your goals.
3) Dont sabotage yourself. Many of us unconsciously sabotage ourselves with self-destructive thoughts such as, Ill never lose weight. Whenever you catch yourself thinking this way, try to substitute more constructive statements, such as, I havent lost as much weight as Id like, but I can change that. Im going to start by setting aside time to exercise three times each week.
4) Be your own cheerleader. Dont put yourself down. Celebrate your progress, and try not to obsess about your setbacks. One way is to make a list of accomplishments in every area of your life (personal, professional and physical). List the talents and skills that enabled you to achieve them, and look at the list often. Begin a daily journal of everything you did right today, Posillico says. Youll be surprised how quickly it adds up.
5) Dont be a perfectionist. Try not to think in all-or-nothing terms that youve blown your diet, for example, simply because youve overdone it at one meal. Learn to regard setbacks as learning opportunities.
6) Follow through with your goals. Believing you can achieve your weight-loss goals is important, but you have to act too, by changing your eating habits, increasing your physical activity and so on. You cant just think yourself slim, but you can think yourself into the right frame of mind to optimize your prospects.
Numbers 1, 2 and 6 are a struggle for me I know.
