In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

I put peanut butter on a spoon and then dipped it into chocolate chips. Hmmm, this could be a new low for me.

YUM

Right. Maybe if we work it right, we can be placed together. Well make our own gang and scare off the thugs with our full on brand of crazy.

:lmao: Goddesses in orange jumpsuits :lmao:

We are going to leave around 1pm now.

:cool1: Safe travels, Amiee!!!

Call me crazy, but I just signed up for another 10 mile bike ride in September.

Never crazy when it's for a good cause! And Habitat is definitely on my top 10 list!

But guest list such drama.

Honestly Lisa, I think this is where they ran into such trouble. Overwhelming, really. My parents lived in the same small town for almost 40 years - mom was real estate agent (knows EVERYONE!). Dad is a minister, so how do you decide which folks from the various church communities thru his career to invite? Plus realitives...it's a lot. So while I'm freakin' annoyed that they totally dropped the whole thing, I can understand how they felt overwhelmed.

I don't know if I posted this on Wednesday, but I lost 1.5lbs at WW :upsidedow

:yay:Yay Kelly! That's awesome!

So I need a neck fusion at the very least, but just graduating with my masters I need a job for Sept school year ------ so I am really in a bad place right now.

 If it's of any comfort - my SIL (one that I like ;)) had similar (not in neck but lower down her spine) and had surgery right after Christmas. She is a new woman.

My 5k is tonight and even though it is at 7pm, it will probably be 90 degrees. Ugh. Unusually hot here for this time of year, and we are getting no rain which makes it worse.

Good luck tonight! And Erika is right - be SAFE. No PR is worth risking your health in any way!

Busy, busy again today. Physics project going on again. :teacher: Good thing I like these kids  I spent half my morning seeking out a Batman action figure for them.

And I just got word from my sister that her condo sold! It took like a WEEK. She found a house that she wants, but the other agent is being a jerkwad. Sound familiar Lisa????

Kat--WORD. TiVo, baby! You cannot stay up late, no matter how big the game. TiVo it and then you can watch the whole thing as a reward once you get home from the race! :thumbsup2

I usually just run with a water bottle(s), but I think now that I have decided that running is something that I am going to be doing for awhile, I want to get some kind of better hydration system, especially with training for the the mickey coming up soon. I like the idea of a camelbak because I could use it for hiking when we go up north.

Luckily the race is only a 5k. It is unfortunate that it is going to be so hot. This course is flat flat flat as a pancake and probably a great opportunity to PR. I am not in PR shape anyhow.

I will check in later on at let you know how it went!!

Kat- missed you before. Sorry :flower3: Good luck with the race tomorrow! And sleep? always a good thing

I have a water bottle belt- by FuelBelt - has 4 small bottles - works great for me. Not too heavy, not at all awkward. For the full marathon, I stopped at a water station as needed to refill bottles. Also I got a little add-on pouch for my mp3 & gu..but you could put cell phone or whatever.

Question.... what does PR stand for? I am confused... :confused3

Also - heart rate monitor / wrist watch / mileage tracker thingies... I remember you all talking about them before and can remember the name Polar, but that's about it. I am thinking I may need to get one of these things (especially since the spin bike at the gym can pick up on them and track your heart rate), but I have no clue what to look for. Advice?

I heart my camelbak. If you want, I will post the one I have here. It was under $40, so it doesn't break the bank. Also perfect for RIDING, ahem, PAULA.

/
Erika--Definitely post it when you get a chance!

Nancy--does your FuelBelt bounce up and down when you run?

Paula-I have a garmin for tracking miles and all that. I think Erika does too.

That was the one!! Very good episode, very moving! I love Grey's :lovestruc

I don't know if I posted this on Wednesday, but I lost 1.5lbs at WW :upsidedow

:thumbsup2 on the loss Kelly.

Yeah, just about killed me when Meredith said, "this can't be her story".

Sometimes, I watch and smirk because I'm a lot like that woman. When she's on the not understanding weddings and such. So her. And her emotional outlook of course. :rolleyes1

And I thought the black clouds had left over me.....................boy was I wrong :confused3

I went to the nuero dr. yesterday about my constant headaches, I have to hern. discs in my neck C-4/C-5 with a Hemogoma on C-6/C-7. Well the x-ray in the office showes I now have a bone spur (which is new) and my symptoms are now of all C-4 through C-7, so needless to say I have to have surgery.

I have an emergency MRI scheduled for Monday, and I was given a happy pill to help me relax to get through it. Depending on the results I may need a Catscan to determine how bad things are. :confused3

So I need a neck fusion at the very least, but just graduating with my masters I need a job for Sept school year ------ so I am really in a bad place right now.

I will find out the rest, depending on the results on the 26th ---- but you better believe I will be asking for a copy of my results from the MRI when they are done, so I can read them first before I go to the neuro the following week.

Well, on a positive side a liquid diet is what you have to be on after the surgery so those pesty 10 pds may disappear!! LOL (have to have humor somewhere in this whole big mess)

Happy Friday!!

P.S. I have done good on my coffee goal, but I have to do the elip Fri, Sat & Sun to make my goal for exercise 4X a week!! With some motrin 800 - I can do it!! :rotfl2:

Oh Jennifer. Wow. Hang in there.

Sometimes, when I'm crabby about another lunge or something in a workout I say at least I can do it. Just do it Lisa - cause you can. Thinking outloud Jennifer - knowing that our health is everything. So good that you know and you take care of it.

Did you know about any of this from your past? Or did it just come on? Meaning it was the headaches that led you there, right?

Hey All...

Checking in really quick.

EE--Have fun, be careful and all that!!

Jennifer--Thinking lots of good thoughts for you!

Paula--Such a goddess for signing up for another race!

Kat--Have fun at the race tomorrow!

Kelly--WTG on the loss!

Erika--Hope things slow down for you soon!

LisaV--I looked at some of your pics. LOVED the ones with the storm clouds.

Nancy, Lyz, Liz, Steph, Dawn-- Hi!

I am on track with my running and water this week. My eating has been slightly over indulgent. My 5k is tonight and even though it is at 7pm, it will probably be 90 degrees. Ugh. Unusually hot here for this time of year, and we are getting no rain which makes it worse.

Yeah Amy! :thumbsup2 Thinking of you.

Wow Nancy. Yes, the hardest part. When you know everyone should be there - but the room won't hold everyone. I still feel like sh!t for one woman's non invite.

Three years later. :sad2:

Erika--Definitely post it when you get a chance!

Nancy--does your FuelBelt bounce up and down when you run?

Paula-I have a garmin for tracking miles and all that. I think Erika does too.

Paula - I have a polar HR monitor. I find the simplest model the better if you are looking for a monitor.

Personal Record :goodvibes

I have a Polar F6 (in pink!). Love it. Enough without being too much, if that makes any sense at all!

Nancy--does your FuelBelt bounce up and down when you run?

Surprisingly no. It stays very well put. I have been very happy with it.

People!

Kat has to stay up. Has to.

It's game seven!!!! Seven!!!!

Good luck tomorrow Kat.

Game 7? well now, that's a different story!

Truth be told - during marathon training, I was told that the most important nights sleep is NOT the night before the race, but TWO nights before....because quite frankly, I think so many people are a bundle of nerves the night before and don't sleep well anyway! I don't know how true that is, but eh, whatever, right?

Kat - do whatever makes you the happiest! :goodvibes

So tired! Quick catch-up before I go to bed :cloud9:

Amiee - Have fun! :cool1:

Amy - Good Luck on your race :woohoo:

Kat - Good Luck on your race too :yay:

Jennifer - Ive had an operation on my back too, lower down than yours, near the base of my spine. I was like a new woman afterwards too - I could walk without a hunchback and my bummocks didn't stick out as much!

Thats it, im shattered. Beddy byes for me :upsidedow

Thanks, guys!!

No worries on the staying up late. Honestly, I have not really watched this series as closely. I really, really hate the Red Wings and the last series left me a bit sour on the whole thing. I will probably catch some of it but it isn't a must watch like it would have been had the 'Canes been in it.

I have to leave my house no later than about 6:15. This Komen is different than the NJ one as it separates the racers into categories. There is a competitive open at 7:15, a womens-only rec walk/run at 7:45, and the co-ed open rec walk/run at 9. They have everyone park at the local arena and they bus you (free) to the race site.

Amy, good luck tonight!!

EE, have a great time!!

E, sorry about Riley.

Everyone else,.

Here I was keeping up to date for your love of the game. :sad2::laughing:;)

Will be thinking of you. Have a great race!!!

I. Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about your neck problems!!!

2. I am with Paula, what is PR?

3. HRM - Polar. Buy a basic one. You'll never use the other features.

4. Please post all links for these running bottle thingys. Does not compute.

5. Amy, good luck on your race!!!

6. Kelly, way to go on the loss!!!

My week is okay...tracking but the booze is killing me! Wine with dinner, not a lot, last night. Inlaws were over, can you blame me??? Tonight is drinks with the class moms. School is over, and I never have to do this class mom stuff again, so away we go!

So, who wants to come to NJ and make me start running again? Bueller? Bueller? I've got a nice guest room and a cute kid! Right, Kat? ;) Oh, and I reward with alcohol.
