In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Here are some photos...okay a bunch!

The start of it all. Love the original wheat wallpaper we found after moving the fridge a la 1979!

Dan and 2 friends of ours hanging cabinets...notice Dan makes them look like they are mon chi chi's! Dave is 5'7 and Matt is 6' and it cracked them up
that Dan can palm the ceiling and they never needed a chair or ladder!

Baylor, Treyner, Dave and Dan - do they look trustworthy enough to start tearing down a wall?

Not sure how many pics a post can take so I will continue in a seperate one!

Liz - Millions of good thoughts for Jodi, the baby and you

Erika - Its crazy how fast things follow suit - first the school, then little league, then church! :scared1:

Dawn - Welcome back  Glad to hear everyone is ok, can't wait to see remodel pics!

So I took my baby niece on a 2 mile walk today (well, I walked and she laid in her pram! :rotfl:) Very tired afterwards but feeling good!

Dawn you snuck in with photos! I didn't realise Dan was so tall! (Although as ive never seen him in real life I don't know why I would know he was so tall :rotfl2:)

Kitchen with flooring in minus the countertops and dishwasher and microwave over the stove.

I know I need office, bedroom and basement pics still but this has taken up more time than I thought! Uploading, resizing and copy pasting...who knew! Nancy?:rotfl:;)

I wanted to say congrats to the racers! Love the pics!

Paula great intro and you rock! When did you and Nancy see each other? I missed it. I have read the catch up on this chapter though!

Liz - you look great and Kat I love the dark hair. Your eyes just pop! Praying for Jodi.

Kelly - your MIL is a brat and your hubster was just amazing. So frusterating yet a great showing of what a man you have.

Nancy - pics of the trip?

E - beautiful pics of the camp and lake. Sorry you have the school closing. Lauged MAO at you polar plunging!

LisaPR - awesome race report and scary you felt yucky. Hope you can enjoy any future vacays and races at whatever level you do them.

LisaV - you are so stunning in pics! Post more of them!

Lyz - your posts absolutley make me laugh and feel more emotion about everything than you will ever know.

Everyone else I may have forgotten...Keep posting and you make me glad to have internet back! :yay:

Dawn! Love the pictures. They are funny.
I am at the place of laughing but last week between weekends that the guys could do the flooring...I stopped laughing after slamming my toes into furniture for the 100th time!:eek:
Dawn you snuck in with photos! I didn't realise Dan was so tall! (Although as ive never seen him in real life I don't know why I would know he was so tall :rotfl2:)

He currently is 6'5 1/2. He is shrinking. Used to be 6'6! He made the nurses measure him while Carsyn was in the hospital! :lmao:

And...if the fact that I borrowed the last 2 Twilight books last Saturday and haven't even cracked the cover on them is any proof of busy...I don't know what would be. I kept passing them on the night stand on the way to bed and thinking that Liz would call me a sinner! :lmao:;)

Insulin resistance info...

My sister was just tested and was high also.

Her doc wanted her insulin levels below 16 and tested her twice. 1st time was 41 and second time was 43. Both times fasting. So she is on Metformin as well.

Dawn: Did you ever get any results of your levels??

Dawn: Did you ever get any results of your levels??

I know she told me when I first saw her and then I saw her 2 weeks ago but we talked about the cysts I was still getting and I forgot to ask again. Literally just left a message for the clinic and should get a call tom. and will let you know then. I am not a numbers person at all. Wrote my sisters on here as I was talking to her otherwise I would not have remembered them either. I still have to ask the kids theri cell phone numbers and our home phone. No kidding. Helpless I tell you.:confused3

Thanks for being on top of that for me!

Busy day here today! <sheesh> I go to work and you guys go crazy :upsidedow

My bike is a Jamis 3.0.

I have a Jamis also. Mine's the Ventura Sport. love, love, love it

Oh and my pics are up at asiorders.com bib #19056. No lauging at my finish line photo. I think it says it all. My hands are headed for my hips.

Great pic's Lisa! And you're right - that finish line pic  I'm laughing WITH you, not at you. It does say alot!

And I go slower with her! Need to stop to pee sniff etc!

:lmao:

I had to read that twice. I"m thinking YOU have to stop, pee, sniff

Great job on the walking.

Thread Bankruptcy declared and forgiveness sought!

Dawn! Hi! :flower3: Nice to see you back!!! :goodvibes

So news about Jodi. Not good. She's in the hospital for the duration. Lost lots of amniotic fluid. Placenta abruption. Baby is still strong, though. So please pray that this baby stays healthy, strong, and in mom until the danger is past.

:grouphug: Definitely - they'll go back up to the top of my list

I walked all three point five miles! It took me an hour?? Is that good time for walking?? ERIKA LISA/PR ???

I think that's a pretty decent walking pace you have going there Steph. How does it feel when you are walking? Like you are working but not killing yourself?

So good. And hot. And fast.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Nancy - pics of the trip?

 Still on the camera!

Your pictures are awesome! Thanks for sharing them.

Time to make dinner. Early for me - but Stephen has a soccer game tonight, so we need to eat early!

Oh Liz! One more hurdle for Jodi and loved ones to endure, but she is in the best place possible. I know it's not ideal and I am sure it sucks. Baby has to stay healthy at least for a month or two more. My heart is aching for her.

Oh and my pics are up at asiorders.com bib #19056. No lauging at my finish line photo. I think it says it all. My hands are headed for my hips.

Not laughing at all! So excited for you, what a great accomplishment! I can only imagine what you were thinking when the finish line came into view.

Ugh - I am tired tonight. No other way to say it. Jesse kicked my butt tonight. Squatted 135lbs again. Forgot how heavy that is since it has been a week since I did them at that weight. I did get to bench press tonight. Don't know why that makes me happy but it does. The best part was that my usual crowd was back in the gym so all was good. :goodvibes Gotta love it when you are back in your comfort zone. I booked another package so I am set for another 3 months. Oh and someone really needs to send me a darn flashlight or something because I can't see a thing in this darkness.

Liz - thinking of Jodi and her baby. Hope all is still well.

Nancy - so what was for dinner? I had a boring turkey sandwich so I need to live vicariously through someone.

Dawn - the pics were quite funny. Glad to see you are having some fun with the hell that is home renovations. There is a reason I don't work on residential projects you know. Looks like it is starting to come together nicely.

Amiee - How are you??? Has things at work calmed down yet?

LisaZ - how are things with you? Hope all is well.

Ronda - How did the sale of the playhouse and your awesome benches go? I hope they raised a lot of money.

Erika - breathe. You will be able to go on vacation. If I have to come up there and get you so that you can fly out of a different airport, you are going on your vacation.

LisaV - I have been thinking about you and your move. Hope you are doing all right with everything.

LisaPR - I am still in awe that you finished an entire marathon. Wow...

Steph - How is the water intake going?

Kat - feel better...

Lyz - so, how are Steve and Joe doing?

Stacey - hope you are doing well and getting ready to close on that awesome house.

Amy - How is little D doing? She is probably growing like weeds now.

Kelly - have things settled down at all with the in-laws? For your and your hubby's sake, I hope so.

I think I caught up with everyone. I need to go grab some protein and do a few chores. Catch you all later.

Liz ~ I'm there with ya! Hoping/Praying for 32 weeks. 6 baby showers heck yes!

Kat ~ sorry you have the funk too.

E ~ I agree, I think there is some over-reacting going on. Hang in there!

Steph ~ how was today in the midst of chaos? Hang in there too!

Lyz ~ Yum on the LJS baked grub. I like them alot.

Ronda ~ even though I am not a biker, I might have to try that lotion stuff. Get horrible blisters and I'm thinking that might help.

Amy ~ lifting a toddler onto a slide is a workout. WDW on your b-day ~ nothing can stand between you and that gift card, not even piggy flu.

Dawn ~ you need to call your doc to get your numbers. It's important that you know where you stand because insulin resistance can lead to diabetes. I can't believe that your doc hasn't been checking up on this yet. Mine was on me like stink on poo.

Paula ~ sounds like you rocked the gym! Excited that you have the package for 3 more and that you were in your element. Comforting isn't it? Work is still crazy, but I'm not terming anybody at this moment. I'm holding steady at 18 reps reporting to me. Long story short, they are showing up, lol. Our new owners will be in next week, so it's a little tense. But, not horrible. I hope to hear about a promotion sometime during the next quarter.

LisaV ~ hope you are doing ok.

I know I am forgetting some peeps here and there, I'm sorry!

Hello from disease central!

Things are the same here...panic and mayhem all throughout town. :rotfl2: OMG, people are SO freaking out that we have 3 cases in town. It is just a BUG people. No better, no worse. Just a regular flu bug. The big difference is that is super catchy and no one has ever had it before. But the death rate isn't expected to be any different than any other flu. (We had the CDC here today for a press conference and they went over and over and over that point.) Certain at-risk populations (senior citizens, etc.) need to be especially vigilant, but otherwise, it should be business as usual.

Riley's school was in session today. Which of course pissed him off since the girls are getting a free week. I sent him. Only 60% of kids were there, as many families decided to keep all of their kids home, regardless of which school they are in (we only have one of each, early elementary, upper elementary, middle, and high...early elementary is the one that is closed). But they had the kids line up and wash their hands every 25 minutes. Why 25? No clue.

Ugh - I am tired tonight. No other way to say it. Jesse kicked my butt tonight. Squatted 135lbs again.

So jealous! With my hip flexor/groin issue, I've been avoiding squats lately :sad2:

Nancy - so what was for dinner? I had a boring turkey sandwich so I need to live vicariously through someone.

Meatloaf. OMG it was good. Baked potatoes (mine was a sweet potato) and steamed beans.

Things are the same here...panic and mayhem all throughout town. :rotfl2: OMG, people are SO freaking out that we have 3 cases in town.

I agree with Amiee. SO much over-reaction. According to the World Health Organization website, there have been 257 confirmed cases in 11 countries. The media has made this into SO much more than it needs to be. Yes - people should be aware. But inciting panic is not necessary.

Oh - and in Egypt the government ordered the slaughter of 300,000 pigs. Three hundred THOUSAND. And there isn't even swine flu reported there. Ignorance. so, so sad.

One of our schools was closed today, and will be tomorrow as well as they await test results on a 6th grader who was diagnosed with "a flu-like virus" after returning from a week in Cancun. Becca said that there were a lot of kids out from the Middle School - people were just keeping their kids home.

One little neighbor girl (2nd grader) came into the shop @ work today. I looked at her and said "um, Georgia? Why aren't you in school today"? She said "well, since my sister's school is closed I didn't think it was fair that I had to go to school and she didn't. So I get to stay home too". :scared1: OMG people. Do you *really* let your 7 year old call the shots? Really?

can I just say....I'm "off". My workouts are fine - it's my food. Totally "off". And I feel cruddy because of it.

Time to get back "on".

Ack.

I need accountability. :scared:

E ~ Wow on Riley's school!

Nancy ~ Wow on 2nd grader calling the shots.:scared1: Oh! I forgot to even mention this over the weekend. So thought about you Saturday, in a good way when I visited the local Amish restaurant.

EE--hilarious!

If my family wasn't exposed to swine flu before, we sure as hell are now. Just back from the ER. Cammie was out for a run (love that kid!) and took a MAJOR digger. Ripped open both knees. It was clear that one needed stitches. Off we went. They opted for staples instead.

Of course, everyone in our town is paranoid of the swine flu and anyone who is remotely sick is rushing to the doctor or hospital. So we really debated what to do. Should we take her in and risk exposure? Or do we try to treat it at home in super glue it ourselves? (Yes, they use super glue in hospitals now as often as they do stitches.) There was so much dirt in the wound and it was really deep, so I had to take her in. There was no way I could clean it without really hurting her.

It was pretty empty, so that was good. I carried Cam in since she couldn't walk and they gave us a wheelchair right away. And I just stood the entire time. I wouldn't sit down or touch anything or use the bathroom. It was pretty hilarious.
