In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Thanks guys! Just for the record, I do not have swine flu. Good ole sinus infection with a painful cough.

Paula ~ your bike sounds cool

Thank God for good ol' normal bacterial infections :goodvibes

I'm going to bed. Maybe I'll wake up in the morning to find this was all just a bad dream...

ERIKA! OMG! That's CRAZY.

You won't believe the comments Molli is getting at school, since we have swine:sad2:. Even my mom went over the hand washing routine with me. So I went out and french kissed Steven Tyler.

Lyz, I was totally thinking of you when school got canceled (for SEVEN days!) and how you would freak out if that happened to you! :rotfl2:

And :lmao: about frenching Steven Tyler! Ha! Are kids being mean to Mol??? I would so hate that!

And did I mention that school is closed for SEVEN days???

(I'm like Liz and the whole 37 points thing! :rotfl2: )

If my school district closes for seven days, I might ship my kids to Mexico!

My facebook locals are rumoring someone infected in our town.

No, they are not being mean, just keep making comments. I told her to start snorting at them.

Kids are so mean sometimes. Grr! I'm channeling Paula's angry eyes.

I'm right there with ya sistah!!!

I am off to bed. Hopefully, all will be well in the morning and I won't be dreaming of Lyz frenching Steven Tyler... :rotfl2:

See you all on the flip side..

I can not get over the hysteria surrounding the swine flu. OMG. Wash your freaking hands and wear a mask if necessary. I have had the flu twice in my life. The first time I had it was in 8th grade. They did shut the school down for a few days, but at least HALF of the school was sick (400+ out of 800 kids). I was sick for a week and a half. Yuck.

I did hear that they have shown it can survive for 3 DAYS on things like money, countertops, etc. That is one hardy bug. Viruses usually don't last that long outside of a host.

Lyz, :lmao: :lmao:

Your basic surgical mask probably doesn't protect. You probably need to have the grade of masks we used in the lab that I used to work in, we handled stuff like live botox and ricin and staph toxins.

So I went out and french kissed Steven Tyler.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Lyz, I thought of you because they said there is one case in Ohio!

Amy i totally agree about everyone going OVER BOARD! We are getting about 7 - 8 Flu collections per shift right now. Versus the 1 -2 that we used to get! We have a whole system now if the doctor thinks it's the swine flu then there is a special collection. Have to call to make an appointment and it's outside (we joked that they are using the old butt hut). They had meetings with the BIG WIGS yesterday, To set up protocols.... the whole 9 yards!

So I have been absolutely tired since my walk the other night! My feet are blistered and legs are sore today I slept most of the morning. I was coming home to go right to bed but had to check in because I didn't yesterday!
Waiting for my car to get the "sync" feature fixed... it's in the shop and has been since 830 Wednesday morning! I STILL don't have it. I am hoping that they will bring it back in the AM!
Ok off to bed! Falling asleep!

It sounds like you are going to have some eventful days ahead of you Steph. Hang in there!

So I wake up this morning and see on the news about the school in Kennebunk, say to Mike "gee I wonder if one of Erika's kids goes to that school..." and bang. There it is. OMG I am so sorry!!! One of the aides at David's school (who takes care of the kids who get picked up) said if it is spreading that fast, lets just all shut down for a week and let the thing pass. I am starting to think she is right. Just let those who have it get well and move on. We flew through JFK on Sunday and David crawls, touches, and of course puts his hands everywhere you can imagine. He's 7 right. I became the queen of Wet Ones and Germex. :lmao:

My bike is a Jamis 3.0. It is a hybrid but can easily be tricked out to a road bike and/or tri bike. I got it a little small as it puts my weight forward more like a road bike. I like it but it currently has 16 gears which is just not enough speed!! There are a lot of different saddles out there to try but I have found it more important to find the right bike shorts than the right saddle. Most important accessory though, cage for your drink!! Second most important, the iPod attachment with speakers!

My gym has lots of muscle heads. They don't bother me. Never have. I guess I just ignore them. The other day in the gym, a lady on the elliptical next to me had the remote for the 3 TVs and was busily changing the channel on "her" TV. I hopped on the elliptical and started working out. Now mind you I don't necessarily pay attention to the TV but she all of the sudden leans over and changes my TV to CNN where all there is, is swine flu coverage. WTH!! Now THAT bothers me...

I hope everyone is well. My day off makes me miss a lot. It seems you talk more when I am not around...or maybe I am just not keeping up...

I had to go get my mom at the airport in Portland so I took the time to hit the Whole Foods Market on my way in. Oh, how I wish we had one where I live. I could spend the entire day in the store!! I found some fresh ground honey roasted PB that my family is sending me back to Portland for.... Mom landed safe and sound. She told me she was afraid they would cancel her flight into JFK. Yeah mom, they will cancel thousands of flights into JFK...:rolleyes1 Then I went home, took care of all my groceries, jumped back in the car and headed in to get kids, Shelby's softball practice, David's baseball practice and dinner was not until 7 p.m. last night which is so late for us. I feel like I have been run over this morning.

I am deciding whether to run or bike today. I ran some intervals on Tuesday and it felt okay but I am not ready to full on run yet. Sore in funny places still. Shelby has a game after school and hopefully we can be in early tonight. All this juggling and running is wearing me out more than the marathon!!

Oh and my pics are up at asiorders.com bib #19056. No lauging at my finish line photo. I think it says it all. My hands are headed for my hips.

ERIKA! OMG! That's CRAZY.

You won't believe the comments Molli is getting at school, since we have swine:sad2:. Even my mom went over the hand washing routine with me. So I went out and french kissed Steven Tyler.

:lmao: OMG, you made me snort my tea through my nose!

Erika/Nancy - Wow on the schools! There has been one confirmed case here, far far away from me. I think that school is closed too. There has been mass hysteria on the local news channels - interviewing anyone who has even THOUGHT of going to Mexico
I am so over Swine Flu! :rotfl:

LisaPR - Is that you in your Avatar?

Ok, ETA: LisaPR, I looked at your race photos and I now see that it is you in your Avatar! Your arms are so toned! How do you do it?
Loved the race photos, I am in awe that you did a marathon! I get tired just thinking of 26.2 miles!

Kelly, that is me and thank you so much!! :goodvibes I have been busting my arms lately because I feel that my hips are my widest point and I have been trying to get my shoulders out to meet them. Unlike Erika, as a swimmer, and Shelby (in the pink in the family pics), as a gymnast, I never had beautiful shoulders. Shelby hates her shoulder (just like Erika) but it is kind of like straight hair and curly hair, what you don't have you want!!

In the photos, there are 2 of my family and I at the finish. They jumped the fence and I had my photo taken with all of them. You can see that Mike really does NOT want to be in the photo with us. And yes, Shelby is taller than me!! There is also a photo of me with Liz (twoWDWfools) and Patrick (tiggerspal222) from the Events side of the board. Patrick was with me until mile 23 where I sent him on. He finished 10 minutes ahead of me. Liz did the half.

Thanks again Kelly!!! :goodvibes:hug::love:

Great pics Lisa! WOW, we totally have the same body type. Love the arms. And I am sooo impressed that you can run in a skirt. I'm not there yet. It would scare the locals. :rotfl:

Why did you pick this one? DISers running? Warm weather?

So, Jodi is in the hospital for observation and I'm going to be scarce. Gotta line up some babysitters for Miss Em so I can hang out with Jodi. If she goes on bedrest, she's going to be so annoyed. I am hopeful that she can come home soon and be bored at home!

As for weight loss, I'd love an update - where are you, how much to go, are you on or off this week? I've lost track. Let's get a big old update, gang!
