In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

:woohoo:Liza (ohh, that was a mistake, but I like it. LisaZ=Liza. ha) Remind me how much weight you wanted to lose?

Not sure if you meant in total or just for this challenge.
From where I started in February, I would like to lose in the 15-20 lb range.
For the challenge, I'm shooting for 4 lbs.

We'll see how it goes. If I like the number I'll tell you that the thing was dead on! If I don't, well, obviously it was wrong :rotfl2

Sounds like an excellent plan.

SO in the light of this, you will all need to pick up the slack in the race department so I can live vicariously through your reports!! I have added another big race to my list though, Anyone notice my sig???

My name is Amy and I am a race addict.... :rotfl2:

Amy - congrats on the Mickey... can't wait to hear about the night time race. Too bad it is so far away....

I will be doing a nighttime local 5K on 4th of the july where the line the course with luminaries.

Sounds like fun!

I have added another big race to my list though, Anyone notice my sig???

I don't know why - but it's kind chopped off. Is that a Mickey I see? Are you doing the full marathon? :upsidedow

Sounds like an excellent plan.

If you can believe it, I didn't quite finish my thought! :rolleyes1 (my son came home and started talking to me - lost my train of thought!)

Kat is quite right. The whole "electrical impedence" thing is so touchy. So many variables that come into play with that. Hydration levels, food in your system, PMS, increased blood flow from activity - from what I understand they can all altar the outcome. I think for that to be a decent tool, you need to try to make everything as "samey-same" as you possibly can. Even then, I still think many scales just give you a ballpark number.

Callipers are, I think, a bit more accurate overall but again it depends on who is pinching you. Slight variations in location can make a difference with that as well. If the same person does the pinching each time, hopefully the results would be consistant.

No matter what the method, the important thing for me is to use the numbers more as a means of comparison, and not an absolute truth.

Unless of course, I seek out a Bod-Pod. But I certainly don't want to know THAT badly!

How did we ever get started on this in the first place :headache:

I love crumpets too. And goats. :lmao:

So let me read again. He's okay for the flight I would guess, eh? Does he play rep Kelly?

Yep indeedy, hes okay to fly! - The bolded part, I don't know what that means? :flower3:

So I've decided to make Easter dinner a luau. We are all going to wear Hawaiian shirts. I just bought a ton of decorations and leis at the party store. I ordered a pineapple ham. I am researching other yummy Hawaiian-like recipes. I am sticking a tub of those frozen drinks I happened to have in my house in the freezer - Blue Hawaii's. I called the best bakery and left a message to order a special 40th anniversary Hawaii themed cake.

Also, bought one of those luau CDs, and darn if those tunes don't make me feel better. So, music. Old movies like Blue Hawaii on the TV in the background. My inlaws and us dressed in grass skirts. The house decorated in a slightly cheesy, over the top, way. This is what my parents will walk into.

That sounds fantastic. I wish I could come too!

SO WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK DO I CALL OR DON'T CALL:confused3:confused3.

I know Im late with this, but I would say dont call.

Kelly--so sorry to hear about your husband's injury. That blows! Thank goodness you can still go to Cypress. What a trip--can't wait for the pics!

Kelly, I am so glad your husband can travel!!!

Thanks guys, me too! I cant imagine how the conversation with MIL would have gone if we'd have had to cancel! :rotfl:

Kelly - how many more days until you leave for Cypress? That is this week isn't it?

I leave on Easter Sunday, 12th April - only a few days!

So that was my weekend in a nutshell.

LisaPR - I don't know where the rest of the quote went :confused3
Anyhoo, that is Very Cool about Shelby - I bet she was chuffed to pieces - and you too!

I am off to take Kel to the hospital for the day. My mom is coming with us, which is nice. That way we can take Kel out for breakfast on the way, etc. Try and throw some fun stuff in. Plus, I need the extra set of ears to make sure I get everything the doctor says. :listen:

Have a great day!

:hug:Hope everything went well at the hospital Erika

Kelly - you packed yet? :upsidedow

I have packed nothing. I haven't even ironed anything yet to put in the cases  I am so behind!

Kat & LisaV - Just Because.

Ronda - I'd like to see pics too :)

Stacey - Congrats on finishing your term papers!!! What a relief. It will be nice to have you back for a little while.

Training session - done! Squated 130 lbs tonight and made Jesse proud. I then made him laugh hysterically when I attempted a real push up and failed - miserably (oh well, something to work towards right?).

Guess we need to work on my upper body strength next...

OK, i read everything that i missed. WAY too much to be able to comment on most of it, but i read it!

Liz - i think your luau idea is awesome! Hope mom's feeling good.

E - hope Kel is OK, in my thoughts!!!

I'm off to an early bed time tonight, so hopefully i'm back to being a functioning member of society tomorrow.

Have a great night!

I'm sorry - what did you just say? :confused3

SONOGRAM AND BLOOD WORK! It's cancer screening! Did you think I was pregnant??? :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Every April I go through the cancer screening for my thyroid. This year he thought he would add in a sonogram to make sure that NOTHING IS RE GROWING! Since I don't have a thyroid! Thats all!

I heard that! :yay: We're Sox fans here, so can't say that I was sad about the Yankees loss
AHHH A YANKEES LOSS WHAT A FINE THING THAT IS! Sox fan here as well

Ok So I
C A L L E D !

I called while at work I took a 15 minute break and left the girls strict instructions that they needed to page me when the 15 was up. SO I called his cell blocking my number. He had me call his moms house because his cell was dying. AGAIN I blocked my number! So he asked what made me look him up and I said I was just looking around and saw his high school and was looking for friends and spotted his sister and since I didn't see him I shot her an email and here we are. He of course asked If I WAS MARRIED and I said yes and have been for 10 years been together for 16. Of course we all know what the next question was ARE YOU HAPPY???? I said Of course! I told him all about my kids. So then he asked about where I live and all that and do I come home any more and I told him not that much anymore. SO it was just a short hello goodbye type of thing traded general things about each other and we talked about friends that we had in common. I found out that he isn't married.. no kids.. just got out of a relationship he had just bought a condo... etc etc..... SO I got paged and I told him I needed to go I was being paged like he couldn't hear it I had the pager right beside the phone! So he asked if I would call him again and I said maybe some day... Got to go and said good bye.... That was all!

Morning all!

Erika I hope all went well with Kelly yesterday! I thought of you often.

Kelly , I was glad to see that you still could go on your trip.

Paula Im with you on the push ups. I have NO upper body strength.

Amy~ good luck with the job hunt. A 5k on 4th of July?? NO watching fireworks on the beach??? I love doing that!

Everyone else

Liz, thinking of you today.

I am still not back on track, really. But I did make it to kickboxing yesterday, and did 50 pushups on toes, again. So I guess that wasn't a fluke.

Liz - thinking of you and your mom today. Hope all goes well!

Kat - so envious of your pushups from your toes. Once I got over my demoralization from last night's attempt, I made that my new mission... to be able to do pushups off my toes. Now, I did do 100 off of my knees yesterday so that counts for something right? :rotfl2:

Hi everyone!!!! I am buried with work today so not too much time to chat. I have another fun filled day planned of work followed by the gym for some cardio and then home to make some Italian Easter pies that are so completely unhealthy for you they should be outlawed...

It is wat my family calls ham pie, but it is also known as pizza rustica, easter pie, etc. Basically it is a really dense quiche like pie that has heavier crust than a traditional pastry crust, more eggs than should realistically be put in a pie (I typically use 18 eggs per pie), ham, parmesean cheese and fresh basket cheese (that is made with whole milk). The pie ends up being about 3 inches high and weighs a ton. I'll have a sliver of a piece since it is rich and way too calorie and fat laden for my tummy to handle these days. My family will eat the rest (thankfully). I make one without the crust for my sister so my piece will be from that one. Good thing I only make this once a year...

Have a great day everyone!
Paula

Kat - that was so not a fluke! YOU ROCK!!!!!

Paula, you will get there!!! When I started this class in Jan I could barely do 50 on my knees.

That pie sounds decadent...

Hi guys. Not much to say today.

Paula - I watched Giadia make an easter pie once with phyllo, and I have the recipe, looked at it this morning. Maybe I'll have to get it back out. Sounds so good.

I am making 2 batches of chessy potatos (one for each party), a chocolate pudding/cream cheese dessert, an oreo cheesecake and maybe a tomato tart. I always have big plans that get edited as I get exhausted.

Kat - sorry you are down and out. Give me a call if you want to chat. And how is 50 pushups "off"?:confused3

Sorry... it has been an odd afternoon at work so not much time to check in.

Man - it is quiet around here today. I hope you are all out doing fun stuff and not filing for the second day in a row. (I really need to stop letting this pile up for weeks on end :sad2:)

One more hour and I am free of this joint for today....

Hi guys,

I'm on a little break from work. We had snow Monday and I am wearing short sleeves without a hoodie today. What is up with that?

Easter plans, hum. Normally, we visit with my aunt and uncle, but my older cousin was transferred to a new church about 2 hours from here. They will be celebrating Easter with her. Easter pizza, like quiche? Sounds yummy! The kids get to celebrate Easter three places this year. Must be freaking nice. I have yet to buy them anything. I have a 1/2 day Friday and I am closing, so it looks like I will shop then.

I ran the stairs twice today (10 flights). Exhausting at first then I had a huge rebound about an hour later. Woo Hoo!

Kindergarten round up went well. All Taylor was concerned about was having help with homework. I melted. :)

Gotta get back to work!

Chirp. Chirp.

I know, eh? :lmao:

I've been swamped with prep and work etc. etc and I thought "oh no how will I catch up on the thread?" :lmao:

Liz - continued thoughts of you.....

Kelly - rep is organized, highly competitive sports' leagues - opposite of a pck up game or regular house league. So does hubby play rep? ;)

So Steph - better or worse feelings after call? Poor guy - Me tinks he had some thoughts, eh?

Hi everyone!

Roddy - I know we don't interact all that much but I really miss you here. I so miss the humour/humor. You know cutie only feeds me so much .:lovestruc

I'm way off. But good for me exhausted these days and the simplest things seem huge - even working out that I usually have no issue with. And tonight I was so tired I couldn't even have a nap. You know that feeling like your brain can't do a thing. So I said eff it - if you're not going to sleep - you're working out.

More prep.

Hi! Can't believe the lack of posting! Oh well, I am certainly a contributing factor to that!

I RAN today! First time in EIGHT days! That is the longest I have ever gone without running. I was super nervous. I thought for sure that I would be back at Week 1 of C25k! But I did about 3.5 miles and it was fine. I was sore afterwards, but not terribly so. I am going to do an every-other-day schedule until I am healed (or it gets worse...whichever happens first, I guess! :rotfl2: )

Thanks for all of the well wishes for Kelly! I really appreciate it. Tests went fine and we got some answers yesterday, though not all. We head back down to Boston Children's Hospital again in a few weeks for the rest of the diagnostics. But it will be a while yet before we have the complete picture.

Jeff laid off his entire group today. Horrible. Beyond horrible. And he now begins transitioning to a new job in the company which will truly mean big changes for us. Not necessarily good or bad...just big changes.

RONDA--GREAT job with your running! You are SO close!

AMY--well, Kat and Liz have a race at the end of this month (which I still might join them for), and Jeff and I have two races in May. Then Paula and Nancy have bike events after that. So we should have LOTS of race reports headed your way!

LisaPR--hope you are feeling better! Check in when you can!

Kat--great job on the push-ups! WOW!

Paula--you are still a rock star!

Dawn--??? Come post those pics! :lmao:

Lyz/EE--did you listen to the podcast? Thoughts on the "big surprise"? The way they built it up on the boards, I thought it would be something other than what it is.

Ok, so I leave 4 weeks from tomorrow and NOTHING is done. Yikes. Have to get on that tomorrow. I have time. I just have to do it.
