In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

I am feeling a bit better. Pain meds help! :lmao: I just needed to let everything out tonight and I did. So now I am feeling less overwhelmed.

You see, prior to becoming a running goddess, whenever I was stressed, I ate. Then I got back into fitness, and running became my stress release. Well, now I am stressed and injured, so I can't run. And therefore I have had no outlet for my stress! Ugh! But again, feeling better now. And really, within a week, 2 or 3 of my major stressors will be under control, so hopefully I can just hang on until then.

Totally understand. Totally.

For me -when something tries to put a huge roadblock for working out I just want to roll into a ball.

I am back home. The cats are back home. For 27 days. My parents are back home and said the cats don't have to go yet. I'm like WTH what did you do with my parents and who are you? :lmao::rotfl: And the woman who bought the place put into the contract to come back in two times before closing and she wants to come tomorrow already. For the love of God - peace please!!!

Good for her for going after what she wants but really could they not wait til they actually own it? I'm in a foul mood don't mind me.

The last time we sold that buyer as well came in between contract and final closing too and sent her mail to us three weeks before she owned it. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

:dance3: Crazy I feel crazy.

One of the suites we might look at. Will probably be gone before we are ready to buy.

That would be my bedroom where the desk is. It's 6 times 8. :rotfl:

Hate the narrowness of the entire suite. But that's what we're going to find to stay downtown in our price range. The funny thing is they talk about the streetcar going right by it and then show a streetcar in my neighbourhood (right now) instead.

In fact, holy crap, that actually looks like our car behind the streetcar. I should enlarge the white arm to see if I can see my ring. So laughing. Chances are like one in a million. I've obviously gone nuts.

WOW, Lisa! I love it. It is SO elegant. High end. Love it. Is it bigger in terms of square footage than what you have now? It seems to be. And does it actually have that water view? Or is that just near? And the pool! And hot tub on the roof! Just love it.

So what is your reasoning behind being downtown in a high rise? Anything specific? Me, I couldn't do it. Need space and trees and no elevator! :rotfl2: Just so different from how I live, so I am interested in why this appeals to you so much

GOOD MORNING!

Blah, another Saturday at work! I just love it :rolleyes1
Its the Grand National today - the Horse Race that everyone waits for so we are having a little shop bet on it today. Normally I wouldn't bet on a Horse Race but this is a once a year thing! Hope we win :thumbsup2

My back is feeling a little better, but not great. The pain isn't as constant as it was, it comes and goes but I know thats still not good. Hopefully some warm Cyprus weather will help it.

Hope everyone has a good day - when you all wake up! :rotfl:

:lmao: That's the first thing I noticed. The eyebrows. :lmao:

OMG she would totally kill me for posting those! I told her that she looked like Oscar the Grouch. Then she refused to go into the restaurant for dinner. When I looked in there was another girl from the show in there , so I said Sam Sonya is in there and she has her EYEBROWS on so and besides no one else is in there. She went in sulking and then forgot about it till we left and restaurant was FULL. Then she was like OMG I look like a freak. THen my brother met us outside and said OH MY EYEBROWS! She flipped!

YOU would have HATED Stephen and ME ... OMG we were here all the time! Stephen basically stalked the house, for two months. The first time we contacted them it was by email @ 10:30 pm. Of course they didn't respond back by morning so Stephen drove over at NINE AM. We made an appointment for that night and then after that we came over several more times. Then of course we spent a week here fixing stuff with them. And as it came closer to closing time Stephen would drive by to make sure that they were packing!

Morning Kelly! I am glad to hear that your back is feeling better. I am also glad to hear that someone else works on Saturdays. I should be working this weekend, but still out with the arm which is looking totally better. It's all scabbed over and now thats peeling off to leave nice red scars! Oh my mom is working today... ice cream must be made. My mom works for Ben & Jerry's... I know you have them over there!

AHHH the appeal of living in a high rise! I actually grew up in one. My grandparents lived in one from the time I was 3 till my grandmother passed away 5 years ago. I loved it! They had a great view of Boston, the ocean ( well Quincy harbor and Hingham back bay). They lived on the 11th floor. My grandmother missed her gardens and she joined the garden committee and gardened to her hearts content. They had the pool, BBQ area, tennis courts, shuffle board, & golf putting green. Never had to shovel snow or cut the lawn. AND yes I felt like the Princess Living HIGH above all my friends. Here is a link Weymouth Port Condo's. I somedays miss cement city!
Ok off to spend some quality time with the family... er the FAmily Laundry!

It's all about location for me Erika. So location means for my money it has to be that. The rich are the only people who can afford a house in the downtown core. It's also about walking. I know you walk in your area but I mean have to walk kind of things. People drive everywhere in the burbs etc. And I want to walk everywhere.

The city makes me feel alive. Always has. People everywhere. Happenings everywhere.

If I couldn't do downtown well I'd be sad. But a town would be my next choice because once again could walk everywhere - just everywhere becomes smaller scale.

The building is not more elegant than the one we live in. But I love the granite in the kitchen. The suite is probably somewhere around 550 sq feet would be my guess. Ours is 440. There is definitely no water view from the suite for the price it is listed. We have a view of the lake now and I hate to say it but you stop seeing it at some point. Humans - insatiable, eh? Anyway, there is definitely a water view from a shared terrace somewhere in the building because it sits across from the lake and a park. It's in area of downtown that gives way to more park like setting. No highrises really around. Besides the ones that are setting up shop all in a row. Let me see if I can find an aerial.

At the price that it is listed it will go very soon.

Off to look at it Steph. View of Boston and the ocean. Wow.

And yes I would have hated you guys!!! :lmao::rotfl::lmao:;)

Erika and Lisa - I visit Crapville often during the spring. Though I don't have the horrendous sinus problems many people have, it does put me in a slight and uncomfortable haze. Since I was diagnosed with the RA, it seems to make it a little worse. GP says it puts a drag on my immune system and weakens it so no doubt that makes me more vulnerable to the pollen and such. Bummer. :sad2:

Nancy - How interesting, I'd never heard that before. Actually, I do live about 50 yards from a four lane highway, which, is a by-pass to I-40 which is about 3 miles away. And while I'm sure it doesn't have the volume of traffic that a four lane would have in RTP (Kat :rolleyes1) for here, it is pretty busy. :lmao:

Great to hear that Carsyn is doing better. I was surprised that she went back to school soon. Can't wait to see before and after pics of your renovations!
They are on there way! Thanks about Carsyn!
Oh, I don't think you had time to see this yet, but I posted this question to you a few days ago ~

What are your insulin levels? I'm curious to see how far you have to get to normal and I might be able to help you with a time line if we are similar in range.
I will let you know this week sometime. I appreciate all help.
Dawn, I am so sorry that I forgot to say I am happy for Carsyn and I truly hope this surgery works for her (and you) to make her life better! I feel like such a butt. I cannot wait to see the kitchen remodel either. I finally moved my fridge with our last flooring change so that the fridge door was not blocking my way to the dinner table while someone was looking for something right in front of their face!!! :rolleyes1
YOu have so much on your plate honey. Please do not appologize. I am just letting people know what is going on so you all do not think I am hunkered down in the twinkie isle of our local Piggly Wiggly!:lmao:
Nancy - :rotfl:Love the goat names. That was fun.

Amy - I am also grossed out by eggs. I can't help but think it's a chickens period. Gag.
I spewed water all over myself reading that one!:rotfl2:

The show. Didn't realize I hadn't been clear about this. Our construction company does not exhibit at the show. I am on the comittee that produces the show. I am the "secretary" for lack of a better word. I coordinate the exhibitor needs, (i.e. indoor booth, outdoor, how many booths, tables, chairs, electric, sign should read...), and am the point of contact for almost everyone. We meet at my office downtown. There are six of us on the committee. It's exhausting and fun. The committee is hilarious and we laugh and laugh. It's volunteer.
You may have been clear and I have bery well missed it! Either way you working shows your dedication to the industry and to your companies values. It can never hurt!

Dawn - I can't wait to see your before & after pics. Fun. Thinking of Carsyn.

[/B][/COLOR]
Thanks!
Whoo boy. I'm pretty much a control freak when it comes to naming. :rolleyes1 I'll take your suggestions into consideration  No name tags. It's like having a classroom full of kids. You just know who they are!

Do they get graded on behavior? Do they get put in time out?:confused3 ;)

Oh trust me. We lived in an old 2 family house before we built this one. And we remodelled BOTH kitchens there before we sold it. Absolutely nothing can surprise me after that.

Nancy, I am glad you have done this. Our kitchen was not just outdated and in need of a makeover but this renovation started a long time ago and we have been living in limbo for years.

Chad was working for himself 6 years ago and contracted for a kitchen demo only to come into the house as workers are chucking cabinets out the deck door and scream, "Stop! We cannot do this." And then explained that the money he had said he was getting and had told as a sure thing was actually a maybe and it did not come to fruition. No joke - I had a peninsula that was gone, flooring torn up and most cabinets smashed. We had to salvage from the backyard anything that could be used. My Tupperware has been in a huge Rubbermaid bucket (the irony I tell ya!) under a banquet table I had set up in the kitchen for a microwave and toaster etc. Chad refused to put money towards fixing the kitchen since then and said we had to live with it. It was a huge fight anytime I brought it up so I just gave up having it different with him in the house.

So guess what my first priority was once he did not have say in the house anymore! The kids are so excited about some normalcy. Not shame about their house. So I am beyond grateful for the new kitchen and so thankful I was able to afford it with such a huge discount!

The kitchen before - notice the counter stops where the peninsula used to be and most bottom cabinets are just placed as they could. I can't count the times I said I hated the kitchen and would never have started the project knowing it would end not done in the past 6 years.

P1010826.jpg

Start of the new kitchen. This is actually looking towards the deck door. The table will not be there when done. The island will be where the table was and the dining area will be in the current living room. The fridge is sitting where it will stay and is the one I got for only $400 roughly worth $2,800 new. "Sassy Green" walls!

P1010827.jpg

The living room. Wall on left is same wall as deck door. The table will move in front of the window when everything is done. Brown is new as well. Called " Nuthatch."

Fly by---in between piano recital and coloring Easter eggs,

THANKS for the pics, Dawn! OMG, what a project! We redid our kitchen about 3 years ago and it almost killed me, so I definitely don't envy you. Keep posting in-progress pics. I am really bad a visualizing what things will look like when they are in progress, so I can't tell what the final result will look like. And the basement is basically done, right? I need pics of that, too! :rotfl2:

LYZ--hope the show is going well.

LIZ--hop the trip is going well!

Hope everyone else is having a great week-end!

Wow, super slow day. Hope that means everyone had a fun and busy day!

GOOD day here, which we needed. Good in that we just had lots of really good family fun time. Like I said, Cammie's recital, colored Easter eggs, my brother and his family were here--all good. And Kelly remained healthy and in good spirits all day. Bonus!

But it was also surreal. Several times throughout the day the phone rang. And it was one of the guys on J's team from work. They called our home number. Which NEVER happens. Seriously, in 15 years I cannot remember a single time when one of his staffers called him at home on a week-end. Sure, sometimes they might call and leave a message on his cell. But never our home number. They were all just wondering if they still have jobs next week (there are rumors flying around). And while J knows exactly what is going down next week, he can't say anything. So it was really hard to have these good people calling and know that they are stressing about their futures. I will be able to report about our situation and the changes ahead on Tuesday, I think.

Pain--still there, but not as bad. PT begins on Monday. I haven't run since Tuesday. I feel bloated and heavy and just gross. I will likely walk/run with Cammie tomorrow. When she and I run together, it is only for 3 miles and is always a walk/run combo. So that should be a low-key way to find out if I am still having pain and to what degree.

For dinner tonight--Bocas on whole wheat, low cal rolls, (with caramelized onions!) and sweet potato fries and brussel sprouts. We got a new grill and wanted to break it in. (Yes, vegetarians grill! :rotfl2:)

Have a great night! Happy Palm Sunday tomorrow.

Hey everybody!

Haven't really read anything, but just wanted to pop by to say HI!

Have a great weekend!

Nancy--you? A control freak? I mean, really, there are so many more goats in your future. We HAVE to be allowed to name some of them! :rotfl2:

alright already.

The floor is now open for any nominations you wish to put out there ;)

We are coloring Easter eggs this week-end.

Ugh. I absolutely HATE coloring eggs. Love carving pumpkins though.

Nancy, last night Jean says "what do you want me to bring home?". I said, "not goat roti tonight please". :dance3::lmao::lmao:. It's quite the day when I say no to my lovely meal. You're killin' me Nancy. Two of your goats have our nicknames and that felt a little to eerie to eat one of my favourite meals.

oops. sorry :flower3:

One of the suites we might look at. Will probably be gone before we are ready to buy.

Love the kitchen. And the pool!:thumbsup2

Start of the new kitchen.

:yay: Love the pictures. Puppy. How's he doin'? And Treyner - looks like he is flying in that pic. Kitchen remodel - well deserved, I'd say. Can totally relate to living in under-functional kitchen :headache: You will SO love it when it's done

Wow, super slow day. Hope that means everyone had a fun and busy day!

We were gone all day. Goat stuff. :goodvibes

That last line there - boy could I feel that. Sorry Erika.

Glad to hear Kelly is doing okay.

The first paragraph - J's work - sh!t - whatever is going on is sad, eh? Sad. Sighing. I so worry about men in these situations. Like I was rambling on to Lisa - just must be extra hard on them. JUst must be.

We are all such purgers in general - I mean some of us more than others:rolleyes1 but then again I used to say nada - anyway we are such talkers. And they aren't. Sighing. I'm shutting up now.

alright already.

The floor is now open for any nominations you wish to put out there ;)

Ugh. I absolutely HATE coloring eggs. Love carving pumpkins though.

oops. sorry :flower3:

That's okay Nancy. I'm one of those meat loving criers. Like I can't balance my love of meat with my love of animals. I spend every year at our annual fair in the city almost breaking down to the farm animals. I'm not kidding. Yes, I have mental issues.

Love the kitchen. And the pool!:thumbsup2

Yeah Dawn - loved the pics. Loved them.

As for the date Dawn. What the heck do you want me to do? :lmao:;) Everyone I've ever been with hit me over the head a thousand times first.

I'm so low tonight. Sucks. Buyer came in this afternoon so maybe that hit hime I don't know. Or another Saturday night and nada. Crappy night. Tomorrow's another day.

Roddy - RA must suck, eh? Does it sometimes have no rhyme or reason? Hope your days are better.

Good Morning.

First time in Eons I woke up the thread!

E - I will take pics today of the basement. Forgot I had not! Glad Kel had a good day and I am truly praying for J and his company and all of you because anything that happens within a company plays turmoil on every life it touches.

Lisa V - Dating locations...I will have to work on that one.:confused3 Sorry you had a day in the cr@pper. Flush it goodbye so it doesn't lead to stinkin thinkin. I have been there so many times.

Nancy - Treyner and his long gazellle legs! Mine are more like hamster legs so I am always jealous! :rotfl2:

We went to church last night since the guys are heading here to start the kitchen today. Need to paint a bit more this morning before they arrive but hopefully I can post pics of the cabinets all done before evening.

They let the congregation know that may have not gotten the emails or calls that a 17 year old girl died on Tuesday night/Wed. morning. Her mother found her in the morning as she went to wake her up for school.

It was totally unexpected, no prior health concerns and they do not know yet what caused her death. I sat there thinking how this mother had planned all the senior events out, planned on her kid leaving for college, prepared for missing her child etc...and then this.

She was there at church last night and I tell you, she looked better than I think I could have ever mustered myself to be. She spoke a bit about her faith and her belief in where her daughter is and all I can say is that it had a profound effect on me.

I not only admired her for being able to wrap her head around something positive in such a time but also her sense of peace that this pain is something that she will see the other side of.

Dan and I both sat there in awe and could not think of one negative in our lives right now. Things we are not happy about are mostly in our control to change and I hope to share with you some changes besides weight as I move forward learning how to enjoy life a bit more.

Some good news -
A local police officer called me yesterday and they arrested a suspect who has admitted to stealing cash and cellphones from the Y. He admitted to stealing over $3,500 in cash so far and stealing things on the day Carsyn's purse got stolen but not her purse. The officer is going to include Carsyn's purse and contents in the case and hopes the DA will include them even though he does not specifically recall it. It may lead to a rewstitution for Carsyn for the contents or it may not if the DA does not choose to include it. Either way, the lockers are safer than they were on Friday and it is a nice feeling to know that the police were still doing what they could to help. He told me that Carsyn was 15 and could learn early that it is never safe to leave things in a vehicle where people could see them or in a locker that is not monitored. There was a 45 year old guy I guess that had his wallet stolen with $1,500 dollars in it. That was a painful lesson! Ouch!

The other piece of good news is that we have 3 inches of snow on the gound this morning. :woohoo: I am trying out my new attitude suit can you tell? The good news is that we are not in a drought ! And I am glad it should warm up today enough to melt rather than have to shovel it!:worship:

I will post more pics later!

Did you get mine?? HUH HUH?? THe Twilight GOATS!!!! Bella, Edward, Rosalie, Emmet, Jasper, & Alice.

Ugh. I absolutely HATE coloring eggs. Love carving pumpkins though.

ME , TOO we don't do it! Because I don't want to have to eat all the hard boiled eggs

Dinner for me tonight? Banana Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and Red Wine. :rolleyes1

MMM sounds like a Ben & Jerry ice cream!
Dinner for me last night was @ MIL. You know the woman that doesn't believe in veggies! So last night we had Pot roast with Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni salad ( oh that had peas in it) Yeah great dinner! I was good though minus the veggies. I love her mashed potatoes! I swear they are the best I have ever had!

As for me I was supposed to do laundry all day yesterday! We all know how much I love doing laundry. SO I did one load and then moved on to cleaning my windows in my room and then that led to cleaning the blinds from my room and that LED TO TEARING ALL THE WALLPAPER IN ROOM DOWN. Yes, that means no more pirate ships, no more strips. I am down to some really really old stuff! Which isn't bad! Blueish green with little white flowers! It would have been fine if I had left the cork board ALONE! Nope didn't want that either so I torn that down which had been put on with a glue gun so there are HUGE holes in the wall paper So I have now a partially scraped wall ( right down to the plaster) in my bed room, and I also have a VERY UNHAPPY HUSBAND! Who said can't you leave stuff alone. I told him NO because if I did then it will still be here when we sell the house like the last people!

Dan and I both sat there in awe and could not think of one negative in our lives right now. Things we are not happy about are mostly in our control to change and I hope to share with you some changes besides weight as I move forward learning how to enjoy life a bit more.

good news is that we have 3 inches of snow on the gound this morning. :woohoo: I am trying out my new attitude suit can you tell? The good news is that we are not in a drought ! And I am glad it should warm up today enough to melt rather than have to shovel it!:worship:

I will post more pics later!
Yes snowing here to! I went out this morning with Mocha and there it was snowing... jeeze I just wore shorts and a t-shirt this week. I had on flip flops last night! But I could hear the ice and rain hitting the windows last night SO I knew it was going to be nasty out!
