In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Hi Gang!

Ronda - OMG! 28 minutes!!! WOW. Way to go! :cool1:

Erika - When did you start to LIKE this? Oh, miserable. Ugh. But done.

Roddy, the question was favorite morning snack - or was it post workout snack? Hmm, can't remember! New question tomorrow!

Ah, sorry, I must've missed it. For the life of me I can't remember it and I'm not going back to look for it. Ok, new question tomorrow, can't wait! :goodvibes

Nancy - is testing Tuesday I can't remember.

Ugh. It's suppsed to be Tuesday. I'm getting a bit PMS'y - so I may request a reprive until next week. We'll see...

I am so getting some kind of chesterfield. :lmao:Where are you Kelly? Sofa bed.

Just had a Barenaked Ladies moment. :lmao:

I think I'm going to eat nothing but carrots until I turn orange. Just for fun, you understand. :lmao:

Have you considered eating only eggplant? Purple may be a better color for you....

Hey guys, sorry i haven't been around, finishing up my term papers for the semester so it's been commanding the few hours of my life outside of work. Hope to be on more the next few days, will definately be on more after this coming week as they are all due 1st monday in april.

HOpe everyone is doing well... i know we are supposed to post on monday, but b/w work and class i may not be able to so E- i'm down 1 lb this week.

If i don't pop back on everyone have a great weekend.

Stacey - congrats on the one pound loss!!!! Try not to work too hard and don't forget to come up for air from time to time.

Okay, here we go. We sold today at full price. Didn't even have to negotiate.

Lisa - sending you hugs as you go through this. So happy you sold it for full price, but I know this is not easy for you. Sending good thoughts your way.

Down at my mom and dad's. Tests results Monday or Wednesday or both. Hope!

Going to do C25K, W2 D1!

Whoo hoo on the C25k progress!!!! Thinking good thoughts for the test results.

Good Morning!

I was finally able to access my at home email and get my password updated, so I'm back to being me! My laptop is still out at the shop, but I talked my DD into bringing me hers for a couple of days.

I spent time yesterday trying to set an actual weigh loss goal and I'm not sure how to go about it. My weight watchers info says for my height 5'4" I should be in a range from 117 to 146. I was thinking about just setting it at 146 and that I could always change it in the future, but would like to check out other possiblities. Any thoughts?

Yeah - the real Sunny is back!!!! I am no help about setting a final goal weight since I only look at ten pound increments (too overwhelming otherwise). I like Nancy and Liz's suggestion about looking at the high side of the window though. You can then re-evaluate when you get there.

Hi everyone!!! Back from my latest trip. This one was to CT to hang out with some college friends and to meet up with Nancy!!! The visit with my college buddies was great and since most of them haven't seen me since this past August, their reaction to my weight loss was great to hear. Very motivating.

Having coffee / iced tea with Nancy was great. She is as awesome in person as she is here. Trust me on this. A picture is coming - promise!

Need to catch up on what everyone else is doing, but a thunderstorm just hit the area and I need to batton down the hatches.

I'll be back in a bit...

Hi again...

As promised - here is a picture from this afternoon of Nancy and I. She is too cute for words isn't she?

Despite my daughters warnings about "stranger danger" and how one should NEVER go alone to meet a person that you've met on-line - and her emphatic insistance that Paula may NOT be at all who she says she is, and I may be connecting with some creepy old dude who wants to kidnap me and steal my credit cards, I went. I had a GREAT time chatting with the live-in-person Paula. So much fun to have a real-time conversation.

Paula - you are such a delightful person! Thank you for sharing your time with me! :goodvibes

Since Lisa posted some progress pics, I promised I would do the same. Since I am in photobucket, here goes...

One of the first pictures that scared me:

The picture that got me off my butt and into Jenny Craig:

Jesse even asked me if I had seen the photo that was taken of me when I joined the gym a few years back. He was stunned at the difference between where I am now and where I was then.

Gotta love forward progress!

I'm not into "Barney". :rotfl2:

:lmao:

Pity.... that really only leaves colors like green, yellow and what brown?

eeww. Yellow. You'd just look jaundiced!

Green? Well, Kermit says it's not easy being green. ;)

the picture. yep. There's the proof! The 2 of us in the same room together.

So. I'm currently watching Celebrity Apprentice. Joan Rivers has had SO much plastic surgery that she's tighter than a drum. :scared1: I haven't seen the woman BLINK. OMG. Can that woman blink????? Freakshow.

Paula! I love your picture progression.

Let me tell you my dear, you look FABULOUS!

OH you guys look GREAT!!!
OH Nancy... When I had been thinking of going to Disney in December my Boss said the same thing to be except instead of stealing my credit cards they were going to cut me up and send me back in pieces! She said she didn't want me to go because she didn't want a finger being sent to her! I said OMG DRAMA QUEEN! YOU WATCH WAY TO MUCH TV!

So the show was good I only threw one fit! We went out between shows and had dinner! I had a chick caesar salad, and I only ate 1/2 of it. But I did go over board on the bread HOT Fiocca BREAD! With olive oil and balsamic vinegar with fresh crushed garlic. I had three pieces! And let me tell you I reeked bad like garlic!:scared1:

I was glad to see it was quiet here on the boards this weekend I was able to catch up really quick.

I also survived having the "FAMILY" here this weekend! This morning I had Everyone here for breakfast. I made waffles, homemade, and sent everyone home with a brownies. GOT IT ALL OUT OF THE HOUSE!

I will post pictures of the show in a few need to download them!

OH PAULA DID I MENTION HOW FAB YOU LOOK !!!!!! OMG WHAT A DIFFERENCE! CONGRATULATIONS!

Checking in with my challenge totals:

tracking - 5/7. goal.
exercise total - 730/1800
alcohol: one glass of wine tonight, one last night. :scared:noticing a trend..
water: pretty good. Noticing I do much better during the week with this.

Happy Monday everyone!! Oompa loompas, Barney....oh my the places you have gone over the weekend!!

Nancy, I went to NH for a race last year and stayed with one of my teammates from the Super Goofs. Mike came along last minute and all the way down he kept saying "I can't believe you have never met this person and you are staying in their house." He was afraid I had entered some cult I think. :lmao: I have met some of the truly genuinely nice people here on the boards. I have also met some nuts but I think it is usually pretty easy to tell the difference.

Paula, your progression is magnificent!! I see it so much in your face alone. You have to look at those pics and be super proud of yourself!

LisaV, yay and sorry at the same time. I hope you are in a better place today.

Liz, welcome to the dark side. You will learn to love running too. It just takes over your being and makes you happy from the inside out. Shelby will disagree totally with me here...

Dawn, you sound so busy lately. It is good to hear you are still doing well though.

Everyone else, :goodvibes

As for my long run, I copped out and did it on Saturday instead. It was a great run for me. All 18 miles at once with an average 11:11 pace. I was VERY happy. Have I mentioned that I love my new shoes yet??!! Sunday, I dove into David's room with a vengence. I reconfigured his closet, tossed broken toys, etc. He helped me all day like a trooper and donated lots of toys that he does not play with. He still has a TON of toys. It really puts into perspective how much my kids are spoiled when I clean their rooms. Shelby donated 2 bags of clothes to her friends from her room. Mike got my mom's car running and the snowmobiles put away for the summer. Sad but true. They are working on getting their equipment ready for the season. We also had a Scrabble marathon going most of the weekend with games going with whoever was not busy. Still the reigning queen I have to say although David at 7 beat me (darned 3 letter words that you can't build off!!) and was pretty proud of himself.

Challenge results:
Week mileage: 36.99 (6.78 biking)
Pounds lost/gained: -.5 for the week.
Scale sanity: Weighed in twice (once mid week and twice for my LR which I only count as one)

I think that's all for now folks. Have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!! :flower3:

WOW!!!! You look Awsome!!!

Good Morning!

Liz, Nancy & Paula, thanks for your thoughts on my goal weight. I think I will just go with the maximum weight for my height, but I'm not going to commit to it until my leader asks. Not sure when or if she will do that without me asking her. Shouldn't that be something that she talks to us about? My meeting is really great and I like my leader just fine, but she seems to travel alot. She's missed 4 meetings since I started no including the ones we missed for snow. Anyhoo, my actual goal right now is 20 pounds, just 7 more to go.

Can I add to my challenge goals? I was computer impaired last week. I would like to add 7 pound lost and exercise 3 times per week.

Challenge results from last week:
WW yes
Water yes
Track yes
exercise 3/3
#'s -3

I have to give Jen's laptop back today. Hopefully mine will be back soon.

Have a GREAT Day!

Hi again...

As promised - here is a picture from this afternoon of Nancy and I. She is too cute for words isn't she?

Nancy-Paula.jpg

You two are so cute :lovestruc

So, challenge results. Its not pretty Im afraid:

Tracking - Every Day
Exercise - None
In-Laws Killed - None (Imaginary killings don't count right?)

So, the no exercise. Im afraid Im having major problems with my back again :sad1:

In July 2005 I had surgery to repair a disc in my back that has split open, and to scrape away the pieces that had flaked off and started to attach themselves elsewhere (nice!). All went well, and Ive been *pretty much* pain free - still the occasional twinge, no hardcore exercising etc.

Well now, the pain is back. Not regular pain, but the pain pain. Im back on the extra strong painkillers and Im struggling to walk. Sitting down, lying down, standing up all hurt :sad2:
Im worried they will want to do more surgery. Im hoping for physiotherapy again, even though it didn't do a huge amount of good last time. Anything to avoid being laid up for 4 weeks - its so boring!

Sorry for the rambling post - thanks for listening!
Hope everyone is having a great day. We put our clocks forward one hour on Saturday night/Early Sunday morning, man do I miss that hour! :rotfl:

Happy Monday!!!

Remember when I used to LOVE Mondays? Well, that is back! Yes! I am back ON and with a vengeance!

Paula! OMG! SUCH a difference! You look amazing! Didn't we tell you that she is adorable?!?!

Nancy--love the pic! Great picture of both of you. And Becca is a riot! Love that kid.

Liz--yes, you WILL get to the point where you love it, where you NEED it. And even when I feel crappy or have a bad run, there is always a great sense of accomplishment. Like, WOW, I just ran X miles!

LisaPR--WOO HOO on the 18-miler! WOW! And at an 11:11 pace! Fan-freaking-tastic! Just one more long run and then a taper? Or are you going up to 22?

As for me...I am STILL sore! Unbelievably and painfully SORE. I can hardly walk sore. I took FOUR days off last week. FOUR. Me. And then I ran yesterday and now I can barely move. WT F is going on??? Calling my running coach today--and he is also a sports massage therapist--and I am going to book a massage and while getting said massage pick his brain as to what can be going on.

Other than the pain, things here are great. Everyone is healthy today, so that is a good start. The camp is shaping up. The taxes are done. The snow is melting (though it is still gross and raining). I am ON in terms of food. I have a plan and we'll see how it goes.

Oh--and here is some exciting OT news! I wrote a grant proposal last semester and just found out that I got it! Now, it isn't a huge grant, only $3,000. But it is all to be spent on technology to further the advance of online education. So yes, I get to go out and buy $3k worth of tech gadgets! SO fun when the money is free! I am thinking of getting an iMac. I have never been a Mac person, but I understand that things like digital photos, movies, and music are all so much easier on a Mac. Thoughts?

Challenge results--get 'em posted and I will post the chart tonight then we will all be back on track together! WOO HOO! Monday! Love it.

Hey Everybody!

I am back, but exhausted. I decided Saturday afternoon to take off with the kids and go to Cincinnati. :cool1: I was a bad mom and let them stay up way too late when we made it to the hotel. They slept part of the way. I scored a sweet hotel on hotwire for next to nothing, yeah!!!

I will be back later. Have a good one.
